I had a total robotic hysterectomy 5 weeks ago. Sunday night had unplanned sex. It was not painful, I'd say uncomfortable. When my husband ejaculated, it burned!
Today, Wed. Still burning, uncomfortable and frequent urination.
Does this sound like an infection? Or irritation because it was too soon.
I even resorted to using hydrocortisone last night because it was driving me crazy and I could not sleep.
I had a total robotic hysterectomy on 11/17/14. after my 6wk ok for sex, it was very painful, bleeding,watery dishcharge, felt something inside my vag. I went to dr. an he said I had scar tissue and possibly didn't get all my cervix(how is that poss)so he put silver nitrate on it and I went back 4wks. said I still had some so put more silver nitrate on.. went back 2 wks later, said it was all gone and didn't see cervix & I didn't feel anything either (was ok for sex)we had sex 1x and very easy. was painful but not horrible. haven't since until 4/28/15. it was horrible, bleeding, cramps, excruciating pain. deep thrusts especially. since ive had watery yellow discharge (some odor)again -so much its like I pee myself-not pee, and feel a hard, thin something inside vag. (tongue shaped)when i touch it or move it, I instantly cramp bad. I need to know what is going on, y I cant have sex (never had prob presurgery)could it be torn cuff? is that my cervix still left?

View 8 RepliesI am 5 weeks post opp of TKR, am doing ok but a question to you all, this morning i had the worst pain since my opp, as i was sat and tried to turn, this pain like a stabbing pain came on ,at the outside of my tkr knee, i couldn't bend or straighten it for a abit till the pain eased off. has anyone else had this or any one no what it could be, similar pain has been there since the start but no way as bad , just thought the pain was part of the recovery.
View 44 RepliesI had a month ago, a robotic assisted partial hysto, I have only my left ovary. I chose to keep in, being 39, I was not ready for hormone replacement therapy. So, I feel pain so bad, and a warm burning sensation in my pelvic area. I was feeling better a week ago, Now, back to the pain before, I had Endometriosis removed during my hysterectomy, and two loose staples (internal) from my surgery in 12-14-15 (appendicitis/Fallopian right tube removal). I was wondering is there anyone else having pain? I was told Oh you'll feel so good in a month after the surgery.....

View 44 RepliesMy THR is doing fine (3 weeks PO) BUT my Total Knee Replacement on the other leg is really playing Up due to me putting all my weight etc on it due to new Hip. This is the second time that my knee and surrounding thigh the muscles are in total spasm. I can't lift the leg, it's buckling as I stand, stairs are a hazardous nightmare!! I need this leg to function re new hi other side!! I'm at a loss!!! Taken pain meds, Valium, ice /heat AGONY. Dr , Surgeon, Physio keep saying it'll all resolve when hip side gets stronger! Can't get into bed properly. Loads of pain, can't sit!

And I have also had my pre-op assessment and am now just waiting for a date however the surgeon has said he will perform the surgery by robotic assisted key hole surgery.
And I was wondering if anyone else has had this type of hysterectomy and any I formation....
I am 4 weeks post op from ALIF at L5-S1. I've had discectomy done twice (2002 and 2012) The last one didn't help any so we did injections and that offered no relief so it was on to the fusion. So far I haven't reached that point where I'm feeling any relief. My surgeon acted like I should have felt relief immediately. I'm still having lower back, butt, and all the way down my leg into my ankle and foot pain (all of this on the LEFT side) I've read and been told it could be quite a while before I get any relief. I was told I would only be in the hospital for 24 hours and was in there for 4 days. I used a walker for the first week and a half or so. I can now move around without it, I'm just very careful. I mostly lay flat in bed with ice. I do get up quite often to walk around the house and have started sitting up in a chair that my Home PT set up for me when he came to visit immediately after surgery. I also do the exercises my PT gave me.
About 4 days ago, I was laying on my side and I reached back to turn my heating pad on. I guess I wasn't thinking and twisted too much. I felt a sharp pain in my back that shot down my leg. Every since then, I have had the worst pain in my back. (I still had the same amount of pain in my back/butt/leg/foot as I did before this surgery 6/10. This new pain has been added to a new place in my back, and when I move it goes up to about a 8/10) I was giving it a few days before I called my surgeon because I don't want to be one of those people who constantly call the dr with small issues that go away after only a few days. This definitely is showing no signs of letting up) The worst part is, they just moved my meds down from hydrocodone 10-325 every 4 hours to Hydrocodone 7.5-325 every 6-8 hours. (Previously to surgery I had been on percocet 10-325/6 hours since June of last year. My surgeon prescribed that for one week after surgery then refilled me with hydrocodone 10-325/4 hours the last 2 weeks. These really didn't do the job, but at least I was somewhat comfortable so I dealt with it.) Now that they changed me down again, I'm getting no relief. Especially with this new pain. Over the weekend I was taking more than I was suppose to and now I'm worried I won't be able to get a refill when I need it. I've been taking pain meds for a little over 2 years now. I look forward to the day I no longer have to rely on them just to be able to get up out of bed in the morning. That day just doesn't seem to be anytime soon. I feel that at the age of 36, I am too young to be in this kind of physical condition.
When I walk, I am bent over to my right side like a little old lady. I can't stand up straight. And each time I take a step with my left leg, it feels like someone is stabbing me in the lower back on my left side. Hopefully I can get some answers tomorrow when I call. I knew this surgery was going to be a long recovery, and I was prepared for that. This new pain really has me worried and I really hope I haven't done something to mess it up. I just don't feel like this pain is something I should be having
Has anyone else injured themselves while recovering from a fusion like this? If so, what was your results? Did it heal on it's own or what? I know everyone is different, it's just good to not feel quite so all alone thru this. No one understands unless they have been thru it. Especially doctors they seem to think that everything goes exactly like the "book" says it should. That's just not always the case.
hi I seem to have woken up this morning with what looks like an indent on the right side of my new knee. It was completely round last night but now has a dent in it. I am nearly 21 weeks post TKR. Anyone had anything similar and why this is?
View 6 RepliesI just saw a Urogynecologist yesterday who says I need a total vaginal hysterectomy. Of course, I am scared! They did Urodynamics study and my bladder is OK. I originally thought when I went in that my bladder was falling. That's what my GYN at home told me. Not true according to this St. Louis doc. His name is Dr. Veronikis at Mercy hospital. Would love to hear from anyone who has info on him. I haven't scheduled the surgery yet. Still thinking, praying, researching, etc. until I decide. My prob is that my uterus is falling down and pushing out my vagina. Quite an ugly sight!! lol He will do a TVH and repair the vagina. Let me hear from anyone who has stories to tell or similar experiences.
View 2 RepliesI had a total hysterectomy due to endometriosis. i was put on climaval hrt patches after which caused headaches and pains and i was then changed to livial approx a year ago but for the last 2 to 3 months i have started to experience the abdomen pains, back pains, leg aches, exhaustion, joint pains and bloating etc that i had before my hysterectomy. its not as bad but its still bad enough to cause problems to my everyday life and routine especially with my 4 year old daughter here. please could anyone recommend any other hrt or treatment for hysterectomy after endometrial? i am now taking my co codamol and voltaren tablets for the pain that i was on before my op!
View 36 RepliesI was given a sick note for 6 weeks but my husband is wanting me to return after 4 weeks.
Said I won't need 6 weeks as i am different now to when I had op 10 days ago so won't need 6 weeks.
I ceased heavy pain medication a couple of weeks ago and that was a mistake. I am back on Norspan 10 mg patches and can now do all my exercises and achieve a few hours sleep before I need to top up with a Tramadol. I've lost 12 kgs in weight simply because my appetite diminished but now I'm trying to eat 3 meals a day and include protein at every meal instead of nibbling and feeling like I want to sleep all day.
I am allergic to many pain medications (unknown until post op) so pain was a big issue for me. If you are contemplating TKR's or have already had them, then get your pain medication stabilised and physio will be so much easier. I have also found hydrotherapy (pool walking) to be a god-send. Today is the first day post op that I feel any where like normal. I was a fit, energetic 63 year year old before my op and I hope to return to that state with much improvements in my knees, in the near future. I believe I will be looking at 6 months recovery time before I can resume a "normal" exercise program of spin, walking, boxing and weights.
No one tells you about the pain, the depression, the disruption to your life, especially not your surgeon. Just be patient, eat well, try to get a walk in each day or a swim and stay positive. At nearly 10 weeks I can see the light at the end of that long tunnel.
I had my hemorrhoidectomy and they also removed my right ovary in the same operation on 30 March 2016.
It is now 3 April 2016 so it has been 4 days since my op. I had no pain the first 2 days and then the local anesthetic wore off!
Now it is excruciatingly painful. I have found that bathing in a little lukewarm water with 2 hands of salt for 15 minutes help a lot.
And for constipation you can go to your local pharmacy and buy an enima ask them for one that you can drink!
Trust me it is much better than to put a tube up your sore bum!!! The doctor can also prescribe a numbing ointment that helps a lot!!

One question i have is it normal to still have the swollen loose skin on the outside of your anus?
Has anybody been diagnosed with this? I went to see a different consultant yesterday one of the top ones at my local hospital and i'm going to be having a hysterectomy and prolapsed bladder repair but for the first time ever he mentioned he thinks I could have PATSS! It does explain a lot of my symptoms, I also have endo and suspected adeno and all this has come about since I had Endometrial ablation 4 years ago and sterilised 12 years ago.

I am 10 weeks post op and I am getting periods every 2 weeks. Not as heavy as before no flooding it's the frequency that bothers me. Pretty bad period pains as well in my lower back today yesterday it was both sides of my bikini line. Everything else is better I can now walk my dog for an hour without coming home and having to sleep. My energy levels are getting better all the time. My tummy is going down as well ( although the period has made me bloated again) also I am having discharge between each period where I have to wear panty liners.
View 4 RepliesI had a TKR on 18 Feb, so I am about ten weeks in, the pain is still bad, it's a sharp stinging pain, not what I imagined at all. IS it normal to get this much pain, this far in ?
I am nearly 7 weeks post op UFE. The pain I had for a few days has gone. My leg ache has almost gone as well. My periods are strange but better than pre op. Before UFE my periods were every 3 weeks and lasted 10 days. In that 10 days I had 2 days of flooding and 1 day of pain so bad I couldn't leave the house. Now I have had 3 periods in 6 weeks. The first one was heavy no flooding and no pain and lasted 4 days (2 light days) last one was in 2nd March. Heavy and painful for 3days but the pain wasn't in my tummy it was on my bikini line all 3 days. Day 4 was normal flow then it just stopped.
So if I could just get to 3 or 4 weeks between each one I will be happy. So if that continues then my iron levels will improve. All that is left then is the stomach which is going down gradually.
I am on my 5th week post-op TAH (removed uterus, cervix and Fallopian tubes). I was recovering well in the past few weeks with reducing pains.
Of all sudden, I had a painful swelling abdominal and soreness/pulling pain around waist yesterday coupled with giddiness and headache. Is it normal having a regression during recovery period? Any remedy members could share esp. now I still can't exercise. I put on an abdominal binder now to ease the pain slightly.
