Is anyone taking gabapentin and citalopram together cpn is stopping my diazepam 2 mg to put me on gabapentin as she thinks I should still stick to my 30mg of citalopram even tho I'm getting terrible anxiety.
View 2 RepliesI'm so fed up! I don't see how my life can go from so good, to this complete isolation within a couple of weeks. I'm constantly anxious about my future, and what lies ahead for me. I feel so insecure, and feel like i'm living my life day by day, to survive. Citalopram is just making me tired at strange times of the day, i have NO motivation to do anything at all. I tried to see friends yesterday, but didn't enjoy it at all, i just wanted to be at home, this is not me? I feel like i've got someone else's personality.
Work is so hard, to just be in. I feel like there's no one there for me other than my Mum.
I seriously don't know how i'm going to get through this now. I'm so scared.
I'm seeing my counsellor later today, its the only thing thats keeping me going today.
Does anyone else drink alcohol while taking Citalopram??
I was off alcohol for about 8 weeks when I started citalopram but I have started to have sociable drinks again but I have noticed o have a hangover even with 2 drinks and I feel very very anxious the next day

I've just started taking carbimazole and Citalopram and wondered if there is anyone else taking these meds together please? The Citalopram is for anxiety caused by the hyperthyroidism. Has anyone else been in the same position and have you found they've helped or have you had any side effects?
I take my meds at night before I go to bed. So far, I've had a terrible headache and when I get up in the morning I feel almost 'spaced' out and really groggy but nothing major and I'm hoping these will pass once my body gets used to it?
I have been recently told that the law has changed regarding Gabapentin and that I should not drive whilst taking it as insurance companies are nullifying policies for those involved in an accident whilst being prescribed Gabapentin.
I'm told Gabapentin has recently been reclassified along with others similar drugs that may cause drowsiness or affect eyesight, Tramadol, and Amitriptyline to name but two.
Can anyone confirm these changes as driving my motorhome around the UK and Europe is the only pleasure I have left.
I am 20 years old and have suffered with migraines for a few years! I had my worst one a few months back which resulted in me being physically sick a number of times! Anyway I went to my GP as I was worried because my Mum suffered with migraines and she died from a massive stroke when she was only 33, so I was worried, as was my Doctor! So she referred me to a neurologist at Guys Hospital in London and he doesn't seem to think it is related what happened to my Mother but he wants me to have an MRI just to see if anything shows up! Anyway he has put me on Gabapentin as I am diabetic and he didn't know what else to put me on! ...3 a day for a week and then 6 a day for a week and then 9 a day for 6 months! I took my first lot on Saturday and it gave me such a terrible migraine similar to the one I had a few months when I was sick but this time I wasn't physically sick....luckily! I seem to be okay now though!
Anyway, is anyone else taking this?
I have recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, with severe depression. It has been coming up for over a year now. Just started taking quetiapine along with zopiclone and citalopram. Idea is to come off zopiclone/citalopram and increase quetiapine. Is this the only treatment for this?? Only thing I have noticed is I am now having more than 2 hrs sleep. Other than that all the symptoms are exactly the same.
View 3 RepliesI had TLIF spinal surgery in 2010. Went as well as could be expected, but I have a very weak back and live with constant pain. I body won't accept strong painkillers, so was prescribed Amitriptyline. Came off them due to nose bleeds and feeling like a complete zombie. Although it was good to get a good night sleep!!! Doc then put me on Gabapentin 300 mg 3 times a day. Had no pain relief and so doc has now upped me to 600 mg 3 times a day, plus zapain in between.
I worry about taking so much, but I need something to take the edge off my pain. I've read a lot of negative reviews about Gabapentin. Will have to see how I get on.
you state that if taking antacids you should leave at least 2 hrs after taking Gabapentin before taking antacids.
On my Gabapentin leaflet it states that Gabapentin is to to be taken at the earliest two hours after taking an antacid.
Who do I believe? I shall have to consult my chemist?
I have just been put on citalopram 3 days ago on 20 mg. I'm so tired and have not left my bed in the past 3 days. My head feels weird and i do feel really sick till round the afternoon. I'm thinking of taking the tablet before bed see if that makes any difference as i might sleep through it. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms ? Will this actually work , i know it doesn't work straight off but will i start to feel better in time ?
I have zero energy , i feel constantly down , i hate leaving the house and i have shut myself of from the outside world. I have lost my friends but that was through my friend who went out to ruin my life and turned everyone against me. I really hope these tablets will help me get back to the person i was. Im going to start the gym once im more confident and have controlled my anxiety.
Today may 24 I just started taking my citalopram 10mg and at first I was okay. But then I felt overwhelmed. I felt like my head wasn't getting any oxygen. Like someone was sitting on my head. When for a car ride with my wife and just felt motion sickness. All day I didn't feel normal and then all of a sudden I just started crying for no reason. I had to force myself to eat. I feel really tired and drained but I can tend to even take a nap. I just don't know what to do.
View 8 RepliesIv started citalopram yesterday 20mg but the dr only told me to start with half to start with. I am 22. Never been on any tablets like this before so I am really scared. I constantly feel dizzy like I'm going to die and pass out and sick and feel like someone is standing on my head. Does anyone know when the side effects will go? And are these tablets any good? When you start seeing results? I know the dr told me to only start taking half but I already feel panicky and dizzy.
View 50 RepliesI was recently put on this medication for PPD and anxiety, I was hesitant from the beginning. Last night after 2 hours of taking my 10 mg dosage I felt so out of it and felt like I was dreaming, shortly after I felt my head on fire. Soon it moved to the rest of my body. I was so scared, fiancé decided to take me to the hospital because he saw how I was. He also noticed my eyes were extremely dilated. The doctor that seen me just pretty much said stop taking it and call your dr first thing but it's the weekend so I'm out of luck. Right now I'm still feeling out of it, sweaty palms, anxious. Not really wanting to leave the couch. I feel worse now then when I started this medication. I regret taking this drug, it completely scared me to take any sort of antidepressant.
View 17 RepliesI've just started taking Citalopram a day ago but already feel the side effects starting. Is it normal for them to start so soon? I feel weirdly sleepy and keep yawning. I also feel a bit shaky and for some reason I can't stop grinding my teeth. Are these symptoms or am I just imagining them because I know that I will be experiencing them soon? I would love for some people to share their experiences with the drug, it's taken me a while to get to the point where I've been comfortable enough to finally talk about my depression and start taking them.

I've started my new prescription about a week ago and experiencing symptoms like loose stool and dry mouth etc, is this due to re starting the tablets again? Has anyone else experienced this?

View 2 RepliesAny experience with gabapentin causing chronic pain problems when taking or withdrawing? During my taper I developed major issues with sciatica and my hip. I'm also taking forever to heal from a frozen shoulder injury (14 months). I had preexisting issues. My guess is it's from all the couch time necessary to heal. But it feels like it shouldn't be this bad. I'm only 29

I 've gone back to uni to do another course, I have tasks to complete and I just don't feel motivated to do anything at all. I m doing work experience and I don't care anymore. I m On list to see therapist at the end of month. I'm usually active person and maybe it's the anxiety that kept me going but all I do now Is not to do anything at all I lay about and sleep I postpone everything I need to do is this normal? I have no energy or drive, has anyone else experienced this?
View 2 RepliesI have had a really tough year, and was prescribed citalopram 12 weeks ago, started on 10mg for 2 weeks then 20mg ever since. I haven't been feeling any better, I have been going through a break up so its hard to know what's heartbreak and what's depression but the only thing that's seemed to be improving is anxiety which was taking over my life.
I still wake up most days not wanting to move, feeling hopeless and like I don't want to be here (I wouldn't physically hurt myself) and non stop crying and fear of the future and low self esteem. I used to be so confident and outgoing and happy, my world has crashed in the last year and recently I spoke to my doctor who has raised the dose to 40mg which I have now been taking for 3 days. I feel absolutely worse and again not sure if it's circumstantial. I feel embarrassed In Front of my friends and family as one minute I'll be crying and struggling to breath having a panic attack and the next I'll be laughing and smiling. Has anyone else suffered in the same way? I am hoping that this dosage is what I need but I'm just having teething problems. Right now though I feel very scared and worried it's not going to do the trick if I feel like this.
So I have successfully completed my first week on 10mg of Citalopram....bloody tired ha! I should be on Cerazette but since not being in the mood to have sex for well more than 6 months, I haven't really been taking the "pill", I know most people are going to say ask my Doctor but I don't have an appointment till the 21st and was just wondering if the 2 can be taken together?
View 7 RepliesI've been on 10mg of Citalopram for 8 weeks, a few days ago I knelt on a small toy which didn't hurt just made me jump. I now have a completely bruised knee (it's totally purple!) Has anyone else experience excessive bruising or should I worry that it's something else??!?
