Pain in lower right quadrant
View 1 RepliesPain in lower right quadrant
View 1 RepliesI have 2 stones in my left kidney, a 7mm in the lower pole and a 4mm in my mid pole. The pain I experience is pain under my ribs and lower back pain. I have an appointment in September, the soonest I can get to evaluate my options, possible lithotripsy. Anyone else with a similar situation?
View 4 Repliesrecently been in hospital with renal colic but have not passed the stone yet it appears that it's stuck in the lower part of the urethra. I'm back at home now with medication. Has anyone else had this problem if so what was the outcome. I'm hoping it's going to pass on its own but no signs as yet .
View 10 RepliesI went for a CT for something completely irrelevant, and when I got the report I was shocked. I have a 2-3mm stone within the superior pole of my right kidney and a 3mm stone within the inferior pole of my left kidney. I have NEVER had stones (to my knowledge), and have absolutely no symptoms of kidney stones. Anyone know how I should react to this? The doctor that will be following up is a spine surgeon, so I highly doubt he'll explain what to do about the stones.
View 6 RepliesIs it possible to have kidney stone pain while the stones are still in the kidney? I have about seven stones in my right kidney and five in my left... I've had lower back pain for almost a month straight and nothing makes the pain go away. I'm trying to get my urologist to call me back, but that is next to impossible if I'm not in the emergency room doubled over in pain. Any suggestions/comments are welcome here
View 3 RepliesI went to the hospital a week ago and was diagnosed with a UTI. Since then I've continued to have sharp pain in the lower left area of my abdomen, under my ribcage (and just general side pain and some bloating)- and a dull pain in my back. Along with that, for the past couple of days I've felt nauseous off and on, weak, extremely tired, and today I felt like I was close to passing out when I was in a store. Could this still just be the UTI? Or possibly now moved on to a Kidney Infection, or... Thoughts?
View 1 RepliesI have a kidney stone lodged in my right kidney. The size of a marble. My doctor says it should be shattered. Has anyone had this done? Is their pain when passing the stones after it's been shattered?
View 1 RepliesI had my first kidney stone in February of this year. I had lithotripsy twice on my right side and also a stent. The stent was removed after three days. I have had a constant stabbing pain where the stent once was. I have seen many different doctors and been to the ER several times. Each CT scan has come back negative for more stones and doctors cannot find a reason I am still in pain. Anyone have the same problem?
View 1 RepliesI am extremely frustrated. I have been sick since Aug 27 with extreme back pain. The pain is right below the bottom of my bra strap on the right side (slightly above where the I thought the kidneys are located). I am also having pain in the right side and rt groin area. The Dr's say that I have a lot of blood and crystals in my urine, but the CT scans don't show any kidney stones. The CT scan did show that the right kidney was swollen and the ER DR said that either the urethra or ureter (can't remember which) was swollen and enlarged as if I had passed a stone. I had an appointment with a urologist last week, and even before introducing himself, he told me it wasn't a kidney stone and referred me to an Ortho DR. He didn't examine me at all - did not touch me. He did suggest that I have cystscope, but said it would not help my back pain. Therefore, I didn't do it. I am usually a very tough girl. When I gave birth to my son several years ago, I didn't utter a single complaint (natural childbirth). But several times over that past few weeks, I have found myself in tears because the pain is so bad. I have had everything checked - gall bladder, liver, pancreas, spleen .....everything. What is a girl to do? I don't normally take any pain meds or narcotics. I am usually extremely healthy.
View 2 Replieshas anyone else experience this ? Any advice ? I'm in so much pain !!
View 1 RepliesHi everyone! I know that kidney stones are terribly painful and that there are various unpleasant treatments to get rid them. In other words, kidney stones are not something you would aim to acquire :-). But, my question is, other pain, what are the consequences of kidney stones? Are there any side effects?
View 2 RepliesI'm not sure where to put this and I'm fairly certain I do not have enough space for all of this. But I will try anyways.
I am 27 years old and male. And my life right now is not great. I have a long list of medical problems most of which have gone untreated for years and are all more or less working together to ruin my life. Since I do not have the appropriate length here to explain all of this a simple list will have to do for now.
Current Issues:
Chronic Pain left and right flank
Chronic Nausea (will result in vomiting)
ADHD (untreated)
Anxiety (Untreated)
Depression (untreated)
Sleeping problems
Eating/Weight problems
Chronic Kidney stones
UPJ obstruction and Hydronephrosis of the Left Kidney (3 surgeries to repair)
What I NEED help with is Identifying what I need to do to make this better. I have been seeing doctors for the past 23 years of my Life. I honestly need A LOT more space to explain all of this.
I'm 22 and got my kidney stone blasted two days ago (10-2-13) and I was wondering if anyone else has had this procedure? I am in a world of pain. and I was just curious how long I can expect this pain to last. My urologist said the stone was at the opening of my kidney and it was about 6mm. They blasted it and put in a stent. I feel like I have been beaten with a baseball bat. I was just curious if anyone else has felt this pain and how long I should be expecting this to last.
View 1 RepliesI felt the need to join after something that happened yesterday and it's left me in a state of panic. I am currently 17 years old and while showering felt an intensely sharp pain on the tip of my penis. I couldn't explain what it was and then urinated after my shower but felt like something is blocking it as I couldn't pass urine like I normally could. The next morning (today) I woke up and touched my penis to see if the pain was still there but it wasn't and I could pass urine normally again. It isn't until now when I tried to examine my penis further that I felt like I pushed something to the end of my penis and touched it when extreme pain came back again. My mother and sister both suffer from kidney stones and I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow but came on here to see what you guys thought.
View 1 RepliesI saw my GP yesterday because I'm having very bad lower back pain mainly toward the right side and down my right thigh & leg. Its more painful when I want to pass water. My GP tested my urine and and she said I have protein in it. I am now waiting to hear the result of the test. She thinks it could be a kidney infection, but has not prescribed antibiotics. Or it could be something to do with a Cyst I have in my Left Kidney.
I am so worried about this because of my age (72 in May). I was also diagnosed a year ago with HIATUS HERNIA, GALLSTONES, DUODENITIS & DIVERTICULITIS.
I have been passing stones regularly for the past 3-4 years, I've had multiple scans (ultrasound and CT scans), seen a nephrologist and urologist, I've had the surgery to have 11 removed from both my kidneys with stents. The urologist left 4 in due to them being too small to grab. This was 2 months ago and since then the 0.1 cm stones have grown, I have passed one 2 weeks ago and was told that the other three are still in my kidneys and should not bother me, fine, accept I've been in severe pain to the point it's brought me to my knees. My urologist sent me to have 2 ultrasounds in the last 3 weeks and a ct scan. The ultrasounds (two different us techs from two different times) both said I had a 5x4mm in my left and a 6x8mm in my right but the CT scan said that I have a 3mm in my right and a 2mm in my left? Not sure what to believe all I know is that they are non obstructive but my kidneys are hurting so bad, could the ct scan be wrong? I also have what's called phlebotomist in my pelvis which mimics a kidney stone but no other test showed that. What's really going on?! I've heard of a thing called "ball valving" could this be what's causing the pain and if so ALL doctors have told me that if they are in your kidney you can't feel them! So frustrated PLEASE HELP!!!
View 1 RepliesI gave had groin thigh testicle and penis pain for around three to four weeks, slightly cloudy urine. I have got fed with this pain and went to see the doctor. He tested my urine , no infection or blood. He said straight away that I had kidney stones. I am not getting to much pain in my back. The strange this is, is that the genital pain has gone a bit as too is the stinking when peeing. Could I still have a kidney stone ?
View 2 RepliesI was wondering if anyone has experienced tail bone pain as well as pain shooting down the leg with stones? this is a constant pain for 3 days now
View 1 RepliesAfter months of pain was told i have two (non obstructive) kidney stone ,pain started in my lower abdominal ,then moved to my left groin now have awful lower back pain went to A&E again a few days ago but was just given even more pain killers, doctor did say he would fax a letter to the hospital to try and bring my appointment forward , question is, is it normal to have this much pain for non obstructive stones and for the pain to move in different places.
View 2 Repliesmy wife has a kidney stone. we were wondering what to expect with the passing of it as far as pain level intensity and duration.
View 2 RepliesI've got a 13 x 12 mm kidney stone in my left kidney.
unfortunately, they are unable to remove the stone due to the fact I'm on warfarin.
The doctors are going to put in a stent to help relieve my pain.
