View 5 RepliesMy son is aged 2.8years. when he was 1.5 years he could speak some words, some time last year January the house was changed. after the new one came the boy couldn't speak the words he used to speak and again you could find him seating some where looking as if he is stressed. When i arrive home from work he could come running to the door but this days he is not concerned at all. When i speak to him the words he used to he can't speak them again, You call him and he doesn't respond. I'm a worried Father, What do i do, i want him to remember what he used to do, to say. Where did we go wrong in bringing the boy up. He is turning three May 29th, he can only speak just one world "hello" he repeats that all the time. Is there a medication i can give him to change the situation?
View 2 Repliesmy niece just turned 5, and she seems to be the aggressor in the show and tell game and touching inappropriately for over 2 years now. she has had some sort of incidents with all her cousins (5 kids both boys and girls). however none of the cousins have ever had any issues with any other kids.her mom has had several talks with her, she has been in time out, and even gone to counseling and nothing seems to work. some family history is her grandpa on her dad's side (which she has never met ) is a sexual predator.
View 4 RepliesMy son was diagnosed with OLP when he was 8..... But his mouth ulcers started when he was 3! He's 10 now. He has good weeks and he has Horrible weeks. No one has been able to help us relieve his pain. We do have some meds prescribed but none are miracle drugs (I know that doesn't exist. . I just wish it did). The medicine prescribed to him is Methotrexate 2.5 mg tablet - 6 at a time once a week. Also he's to take folic acid with this med. He's not started this yet because he must have blood work done routinely since there is a chance this med will effect his liver .... And he's terrified of needles. He uses Chloraseptic mouth spray very often for the pain. He misses school very often. He sometimes has "mystery fevers" and feels just awful inside. He gets bad headaches. I read on one thread that someone mentioned an OTC med for thrush and an enzyme for candida. I think I might try that for him. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? My sweet boy is in pain and has been for so long and I'm worried that his childhood is being negatively impacted by all these mouth ulcers.

View 6 RepliesWhen I was 16 I was forced into having oral sex with someone that I went on a date with. I am now almost 21 years old and have only ever had intercourse or any other sexual encounter with my fiance. For the past years I have had problems with my periods and pain during them, but never thought twice about it. I went to the doctor yesterday for a possible UTI and found out that I may have PID. Though I have yet to be diagnosed with an STD (labs are still out), I am assuming that Chlamydia is the case, given to me from the guy who forced me to have oral with him (seeing as how he probably had many interactions with other girls if he did something like that to me.) I am now TERRIFIED that I have had this disease for almost five years. I am getting married in just 3 weeks and am now afraid that I won't be able to have children... What are the chances of this if I have in fact had this disease for this long?
View 1 RepliesMy son has terrible chicken Pox, he has it everywhere & so aggressive too!! tried virasoothe which helped, now using Poxclin which seems much better!

View 1 Replieswant to know how the Autism disease affects the growth of child suffering from this disease ?
View 1 RepliesWondered if anyone can give me any advice. my 9 year old says that his ears have never cleared after a long haul flight over a year ago. he says that when they pop he hears clearly for a bit then they block back up again. he says that he feels like he's underwater and sometimes gets dizzy, he can also hear them crunching when he moves jaw. i've taken him to the doctors and she looked in ears and said they were both clear and that was that. so no solution ....
View 2 RepliesI recently went to the doctor with a bad cough, slight fever and coughing up green mucus a lot. I was told my lungs sounded clear (4 days ago) and I have no chest pain, but the doctor gave me antibiotics just "in case" my symptoms worsened over Christmas. A new symptom I have noticed now is, when I exhale, sometimes I get this strange crackling or bubbling noise. Does anyone think it's a good idea to take my antibiotics before seeing my doctor again as I have to wait over the weekend for them to open again?
I am just worried that Penicillin may be harmful to take for something that might not be bacterial, even though I am getting this strange crackling sound and severe cough?
I am a 24 year guy who have been facing the problem of breathing at night.
i get this problem specially at nights.
sometimes i wake up at middle of night and start facing this problem until i get out off bed at the morning. I am suffering a lot my days are gone unproductive due to this problem as i become completely sleepy at the day time.
I am 22 years old, first time pregnancy, 39 weeks. Completely healthy other than this one problem that i have had my entire life. Ever since I was a baby I have not been able to control my bladder when I laugh. Almost every single time I laugh I wet my pants...its very embarrassing...Throughout my life I have been very ashamed of this issue and honestly have tried to hide but as I have gotten older it continues to get worse. I know have to wear pads whenever I go anywhere where i think i will laugh otherwise i soak myself through my underwear. Most doctors think it is stress incontinence. They say because I have trouble relaxing when I use the bathroom I do not empty my bladder all the way and have urine left over, hence why I have to use the bathroom every 20 to 30 minutes. Naturally being pregnant it has just gotten worse. No one can give me a REAL HONEST answer on whether or not my problem will get worse if I have a vaginal delivery I would like to have a vaginal delivery but only if my problem is not gonna get way worse. Im already in pads I dont wanna be in diapers and I only have a week left. I have scheduled the C but the doc says it up to me....NOTE: I have seen several urologists and because I have no definitive diagnosis none of them can recommend for or against the C section.
View 1 RepliesSo as a result of some difficult child deliveries I have Hemorrhoids. I do not have internal issues but I have some on the outside. They look like dried up grape clusters and make it very difficult to clean properly. They bother me tremendously! Is there any procedure to remove them?
View 1 RepliesI am writing this posting to gain some further understanding of the premature puberty.
My daughter was 4 1/2 when I noticed her having proper body odour. The doctor said that some kids just get it and for her to wear deodorant. I was never totally happy with it as it didn't seem normal to me. My daughter has always been tall and slim for her age and I have always been concerned that she is a little too tall. Last summer, aged 5 1/2 I noticed she seemed to have more hairs on her legs and a couple of dark pubic hairs. I took her to a new doctor, as we had moved, and he referred her straight away to the paediatrician at the hospital, as when he looked at her height he thought she was a little too tall for her age.
A year later my little girl has breast buds and is having injections every 4 weeks to halt the puberty. She has had all the blood tests to check her hormone levels which were positive for puberty, as well as her bone age (currently 8 1/2) by x ray. She has had an MRI scan of her brain to check for tumours and ultrasound scan of her pelvis for polycystic ovaries. She has been very good with it all but all she knows is that she is growing a bit too fast and the doctors want to slow her down a bit.
We have been told by the paediatrician that it is best for her to have these injections otherwise she will start her periods, which they do not want her to do. They have also told us that unless they halt the puberty that she could end up short because she has already started her growth spurt which will finish 4 years too early. She is already 4ft 4 at age 6 and in age 9-10 clothes. Her puberty doesn't seem to be linked to obesity though as some papers seem to suggest as her BMI is healthy for her age and height. Unfortunately they don't seem to have an answer as to why this has happened to my daughter.
We are finding the hardest bit is the teenage strops and temper that appear to be coming with it. We have been told to expect her to be more grown up in age and expect the hormone strops because the injections contain a massive overdose of the puberty hormones to confuse her body. She does seem to be struggling with concentration and odd little behaviour issues at school which we feel could be related.
I'm a 14 year old girl. I have recently being getting purple and blue bruising on my knee, the side of my knee and my hip bone. I also have a small green bruise on my left breast and brown bruising over my calves and thighs. All of this has appeared within the last 2 weeks. I really don't know how I got them as I have had no recent traumas or bumps. The only thing I can think of that might be linked to the bruising is the exercise I do at the gym. I go on the elliptical trainer for 40 minutes 4-5 days a week, but I being doing exercise for 3 months and It don't make sense that the bruises are only appearing now. If you know what this is then please help me as I'm starting to get a bit worried now

i believe that my daughter who is 9 yrs old has this condition and has been living with it since she was 4 of 5 yrs old.It started with mood swings which i just put down to a bad temper, how wrong was i when the breasts and pubic hair then started to appear.Until 12 1 08 i just thought my daughter was one of the unlucky few that had just started to develop early, but i saw a programme about prococious puberty and realised that my she has more than likely have this condition. Now my worries are for her childhood being no longer as child like as it is for her friends.I am also worried it may give children reason to bully her as it is so perfectly obvious that she is physically and mentally different to others.Unfortunetly we don't know of any one else with this condition so have nobody that understands,my daughter doesn't seem concerned about the changes tha are happening to her so i'm trying to be the same but it's difficult. She is far to young to be going through this.If there is any one that knows what it's like either as parent or was a youngster with the same please get in touch via this space. thanks.
View 12 Repliesmy son is 4 and the hospital told us he will never use his eyes together because of his squint. can anyone tell me how squints affect their ability to play fast moving sports such as football, squash etc.. We were thinking that if he only uses his eyes one at a time, then he wouldn't see someone approaching from the wrong side. Plus he wouldn't be able to judge when the ball was arriving.
We are reeling at present because we have been under hospital care for all 4 years and only now are they telling us he won't use both eyes. the suggestion is even if he has an operation to correct the squint, it will only be cosmetic.
I have been dealing with infertility for going on 8 years. I am young but it is still very hard. I found out yesterday that my 21 year old sister is pregnant by a man who lives with his girlfriend. She wasn't trying yet she got pregnant. It hurts SO BAD! I want to be there for her but I can't even look at her right now it is so hard.
I haven't had a period since October. When I was living in Michigan my Gynecologist put me on Clomid. I was on it for a year but it never worked. I don't ovulate properly and obviously don't have my periods on a monthly basis. I was just wondering if anyone has or is going through this and what you did to get through this/solve this?
Any suggestion would be great. I feel horrible right now and I need some uplifting news.
Thanks,
Erin
