This may be a daft question but I can't help wondering if anyone else has had blood test results where your white blood cell count was elevated? It seems mine are always out? It's not crazy high but high enough the doctor calls me in.
Is there any links between wbc and Fibro?

Just got the MRI results. LOL had it done to try and confirm mass on my Gallbladder. The Radiologist suggested that I have a CT done it would be better tool for that.(more money) So all the ducts were ok and within limits in the liver pancreas and gallbladder. However my spleen was mildly enlarged i'm guessing this could be from the fatty liver anyone here have personal experience with this?

Been chasing ruq pain for 3 months now. Ultrasound showed diffuse fatty liver and a contracted gallbladder with a asymmetrical mass 1.3cm with no stones. then the mri showed a mildly enlarged spleen but no liver abnormalities but didn't address the GB, suggested CT for the GB. Hida scan showed ejection rate at 27%. Blood work just came in this morn, RDW at 17% all rest normal except high triglycerides and cholesterol. 3 more appts this week hopefully someone will be able to find out what all this means and if there is actually a mass there. don't want to lose GB unless i need to.

I can find information on high white count and enlarged red blood cell separately. I can not get the information on combination of both. I see a Hematologist/Oncologist tomorrow. I need to be prepared if I am going to labeled an alcoholic. Anyone have both of these issues?

I went to the doctor for burning when I urinate. She said I had high WBC in my urine. She sent off for a culture. It came back neg for infection. She sent me to kidney doctor to check for stones and ordered a CT scan. The kidney doc said I still have high WBC in my urine and checked my prostate for infection which hurt really BAD. No infection there. The CT scan showed an enlarged spleen and liver. I have been having a low grade temp and pain in my left and right side and low energy. My blood panel came back normal but the doctor is sending me to a liver doctor for a biopsy. She thinks my liver is causing me problems for my spleen. My question is with normal liver blood work how can my liver still be enlarged and causing me problems?

I am writing to see if anyone has any ideas for my father in law in Japan. He is in the hospital and the oncologists, and disease specialists cannot diagnose his condition. He has had a fever for over a month, diminishing strength, trouble breathing, and inflamed lymph nodes and spleen. It is my understanding that he has a low white blood cell count as well.

Been feeling lightheaded and brain foggy and a bit sick recently with some stomach grumbling and pain. Went to the doctors who did repeat blood tests over the course of 8 weeks and have said my enzymes are slightly up which could be the result of mild fatty liver. My question is does this sound related? He's also just tested me for celiac, but told me in the beginning that I could be fighting a virus. I'm worried that the 3 diagnoses he's given are so different I don't know what to believe, also does this mean I should be less worried about the tests because they are low enough to be anything?

I am a 59 yr. old male and a disabled Veteran. I have been taking Testosterone for the past 15 years every 2 weeks. My doctor took me off of it on June 4th because my red blood count was too high. My body doesn't produce Testosterone anymore because of Hemochromatosis, which is a blood disease which produces too much iron in my blood.

i had my annual physical exam month ago. CBC was normal, but on ultrasound my spleen appeared enlarged, approx. 15cm. Month later my spleen was still enlarged, 14cm. I did a CBC + LDH blood test again. Again everything appeared normal on CBC and LDH was 200 (it said that under 330 it was OK). Doc told me not to worry but to have a new ultrasound and CBC (+LDH) in 6 months. I really do not feel like waiting that long. Sometimes during the day I feel extremely tired and sleepy. Any suggestions what to do next other than waiting for 6 months.

I had an abdominal ultrasound done for some abdominal pain and it was noted in the report as an impression that I had an echogenic appearing liver (such as non alcoholic fatty liver). My doctor at that time didn't tell me and just said my report was normal. When I went in for my Colonoscopy that was unrelated, it was mentioned again and when I did some research I realized what fatty liver actually was. I switched doctors.
My new doctor is considering giving me a CT scan but is checking with the GI department to see if they think its needed, etc. etc. But that there is no treatment for it besides diet modification.
Here's the thing. I don't have any of the risk factors. I am not overweight. I'm actually underweight slightly (BMI is 18, I weigh 110 lbs). I don't drink any alcohol, never did. And I don't have diabetes or hepatitis. The only thing I could do and what I have been doing is change my diet. I stopped eating processed foods, watched my sugar/carbs, and eat more vegetables than I ever have.
I'm a very anxious person and I'm not sure I want to know what the scan says. If it's worse than what I thought, I'm going to be so upset and stressed out. And I can't treat it anyway. It's not like they can give me a medication and make it go away. I think knowing the extent of it will just cause me mental anguish and I'm already stressed out about it as is.

My Cholesterol was 7.8 and I was put on Statins 3 years ago. Because they gave me pains in my legs and other areas I stopped them.
A year ago my Cholesterol was still high and I had changed doctors and was prescribed Atorvastatin 10 mg after 2 months my doctor sent me for blood tests and in a phone call when I was at work he told me that Atorvastatin had caused Liver damage. He said I should stop taking the tablets immediately, pity this advice was not put on my notes so that when I phoned for my blood results a week earlier the receptionist could inform me to stop Atorvastatin. She just said Doctor will be in touch via phone call next week
He referred me to a Liver Specialist.
I went to see Liver Specialist after having Liver Ultrasound. Fatty liver was diagnosed and Liver Specialist promptly put me back on Atorvastatin claiming this would help my fatty liver. I couldn't believe it but what could I do?
Local GP had advised me to have bloods done again after being on tablets for 2 months. When my results came back the Locum doctor I saw said "whoa your Liver is not happy" STOP the tablets and have a blood test in 2 weeks.
2 weeks later Liver levels are coming down so thats a good direction. Dilemma is I have to see my Liver Consultant 16 June 2015. Wish me luck!

this isn't about me but is about my girlfriend who is about to have gastric sleeve surgery.
She is a 40 year old women that has had a full hysterectomy and has type 2 diabetes. she has had a history of thyroid and weight issues. she is 5,7 weighs 225 LBS. she has an enlarged fatty liver of 27cm and the Doctor said that she needs "emergent" gastric sleeve surgery to bring down her enlarged liver. this was claimed on this past thursday. I have been looking high and low for documentation and statistics on using the surgery for reducing fatty livers but can't find any information. Does this sound right? has there been a history of using this procedure for such cases, I'm worried and scared for her.

IiIt was picked up by chance thaI have fatty liver, could have had this for years without knowing about it, how do I find out how much damage has been done already if any? My GP does not seem too concerned about it, all my LFT have come back normal so what can I do about it apart from lifestyle change which I'm doing already?

I'm a 36 year old woman who has been battling undiagnosed health issues for about 10 years. No family doctor. Suggestions of possible autoimmune disease made by more than one ER doctor but as they only treat acute issues, I've never had any testing. On July 2nd I felt like I was having a heart attack or something, the pain would not let up for about half hour so my hub took me to the ER. BP was 158/100. I had blood taken and they prepped me with a picc line (which was never used as I refused the drugs). Test results came back ALT 312 AST 604 and doc said he was concerned so req ultrasound and blood work to check for hep A, B and C. Ultrasound found gallstones but no inflammation in the gallbladder. I do not drink, I do not take any medication...rarely take advil (I mean very rarely)...do not take Tylenol. I do not use recreational drugs either. I was asked by both the 1st ER doc and the second...if I was a drinker. Waiting for hep blood work results still...and still have a constant dull pain in my upper abdomen, mostly right side but also some on the left and some mid abdominal pain also and as always...I'm very fatigued. Not sure what is going on...anyone else had levels this high and got a dx?

A C/T of the thorax, done because of shortness of breath, showed the right diaphragm and liver situated in the chest cavity. Other tests of the thorax and abdomen, including a PET SCAN, have not shown any reason for this.
What can be the reason for the elevation of the diaphragm and liver?

Do they confirm fatty liver via a blood test or MRI, etc? What causes a fatty liver? I also have the right sided pain almost right below the rib or like when you put your hand on your hip its right there in the side. Sometimes it does feel like a pulled muscle or tight feeling. I went back to the Gastro Dr after a routine colonoscopy because of the right sided tightness. I have had IBS for years. The problems I have is diet and I don't drink enough water and lack of exercise all which are important in keeping the bowels moving. I've been trying to eat better but veggies (even cooked) really set off my IBS symptoms so trying to figure out what I should even eat.
The Dr. said it appears to be IBS related and wanted me to go on Miralax. I do not like to take much medications because of adverse reactions or the chemicals in the meds and I have read that miralax is some pretty bad stuff. The Dr. Said that trapped gas can also cause the tight feeling, but I don't know about that. If you are constipated, you can have the bloating and tight feeling but my question on that is, can you be constipated and not realize it or is it always very obvious with miserable symptoms?

I just need to ask that my father was on sovaldi treatment for 4 days when his (serum) creatinine level shot up to 2.53 which later came down to 1.96 and now at 1.43. He has no renal impairment and his kidney ultrasound and detailed urine report is perfectly normal. He is cirrhotic (Hep-c) at stage 2 according to doc (hep-c) which stopped the sovaldi + ribavirin treatment to save his kidneys. However during the period he was also on diuretics (furosemide) occasionally. His nephrologist says that it is safe to continue sovaldi treatment but the other doc gave a red flag (I have yet to have a discussion with the nephrologist). So I am asking that is it possible that creatinine levels change because of sovaldi or do i need to the change my doc? Also he has edema occasionally. He also has acid reflux.
Age: 58 Sex: M Height: 5'10" Duration: a year (stopped sovaldi: a month) Location: Pakistan Medical Issues: Hep-C, 2nd Stage cirrhosis, acid reflux, depression, anemia Medications: Furosemide (Depending on edema) Rabeprazole (Twice daily half and hour before food) Folic Acid Vitamin-D and Calcium
