View 1 RepliesI've had external hemorrhoids for three weeks the doctor has prescribed anusol suppository and cream.
i got an infection and have nearly finished a course of flucloxacillin.
the doctor won't refer me despite asking twice.
will they eventually go on there own or will i be stuck feeling hideous for life.
I'm a 17 year old male who recently discovered he's had an external hemorrhoid.
Preface:
Two days ago I felt extremely uncomfortable walking around. After a sports practice, and before I stepped into the shower, I probed the rectal area with my hands - I was compelled to do so as it felt like I hadn't completely BM'd. I felt a large lump and attempted to push it around to no avail; it was probably the most shocking experience of the past 6 months. Fortunately, I consulted a friend of mine, who has had his fair share of struggles with diarrhea and such, learning that I have an external hemorrhoid.
Questions:
1) Does this condition go away naturally? It's been two days and I haven't given it "special" treatment minus the regular washing.
2) Is it supposed to hurt? The uneasiness was greatest the day after I discovered the lump and has somewhat subsided. I feel pressure pains regularly and sharp pains occasionally.
3) Is it harmful to attend sports practices during this time? Is it damaging to even walk?
4) Anything particular I need to know about this condition?
I am a 28 year old male i have had digestive issues for years now that we are still working on treating
I definitely have hemorrhoids i'm just not sure if i have internal or external or maybe even both, at times i feel the bump outside but also at times i feel like my stool is being blocked and gas as well
i have started taking more fiber in and my moments are good and regular now but are very painful and i feel like i don't go completely the first time then each additional time i go its harder and harder to get the rest out and also it gets thinner in consistency
i really feel like a hemorrhoid is blocking my stool
i am going away for awhile and i can't get to a dr before hand so im just looking at advice on what i can try specifically for the problem of stool being blocked and dealing with potential internal hemorrhoids at home
I am a 19 year old male that got my first serious hemorrhoid around a month ago, there was slight bleeding when using the toilet however apart from that with ointment and care the pain subsided.
However three days ago the pain returned as bad as it was last time, yesterday I began bleeding heavily (leaving one pair of underwear ruined) and subsequently I went to my local hospital who said I should see a consultant this morning.
I did that, and he was useless, however confirming it was an external hemorrhoid that had ruptured. I have been booked for a camera in 8 weeks time and his only advice was to change everything about my lifestyle (time to give up all indulgences yay).
It has not stopped bleeding, and even walking from my local supermarket left me having to wash my anus as well as changing my underwear again.
My question is, how long will it take for the bleeding to stop, and is there anything I can do to help stop the bleeding as in my current state I don't want to leave my bed let alone face the prospect of work. I live in the UK so luckily healthcare is free, however I am open to home remedies as well.
They were massive, Dr said she could barely get them all inside the tube They use to do the stapling. The recovery was horrible, but i I am feeling better now. Still can't eat anything to Hardy just because out will make me bleed when it comes out.
View 2 RepliesI've been having problems with hemorrhoids for many years now. Probably about 8 years or so (I am 27). It has gotten worse in the last 2-3 years I'd say. How do I tell if this is internal or external hemorrhoids?
I've read up on the symptoms and I'm not sure how to read this. For me, the flare up only occurs after a bowel movement. If i go to sleep right after, the hemorrhoids is always gone. Sometimes the hemorrhoids will go away on its own after a few hours on its own (how? i dont know).
All i know is that it never goes on for more than 1 day continuously because it always goes away when I go to sleep. Any idea which type I have? Its gotten to a point where I dread bowel movements because it makes walking difficult (unless I find a comfortable laying position where it will go away on its own). Hoping there is a way to make the hemorrhoids go away within an hour of the bowel movement.
It's day eight after my procedures. I barely am feeling the slightest bit better. As the subject states I had THD, sphincterotomy For an anal fissure, and external hemorrhoids. Pain medications are my only relief at this point with a little sleep in between. Hey bowel movement consistent little bit of prep work. I was given 5% lidocaine ointment to put on before the bowel movement and for after. This is only a short time of relief. My prescriptions include hydrocodone, Nucynta, Valium, and Flomax. The first two for the pain, the Valium for the spasms in the rectum, and Flomax for the swollen prostate from the procedure. Even urinating is a difficult task. It seems like I can't do one without doing the other, Although this seems to be getting better so I do believe my prostate is beginning to shrink back to normal. In these eight days I've lost right at 14 pounds and I am eating very little every day. I am forcing myself to drink as much water as possible and I'm taking non laxative stool softeners twice per day. I can answer any question that you might have of me for more information. I'm just looking for someone else that's had similar recovery time and issues.
View 4 RepliesI had piles during my 1st pregnancy and at the birth of my first child but they went within a week so when I got them again after the delivery of my second baby I wasn't concerned, however to cut a long story short 16 months later I have had internal, prolapsed and external piles. I've had them thrombose internally and externally and developed fissures and a Polyp. I've seen 4 different surgeons both privately and NHS and have had an Anal stretch, banding, Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy (PPH) botox injection for a fissure, a polypectomy and just last week doppler guided ligation (Halo) and skin tag removal but here I am laying in bed unable to work, look after my kids, walk or do anything. Everyone is really putting themselves out for me and my friends and family have been great but they can't go on taking time off and asking about me forever.
I still have this feeling of unbelievable fullness, burning, stinging and after the last operation it looks like I have a new inflamed external hemorrhoid. It's gone way past embarrassment for me. I need to get better because I can not live like this much longer.
I eat really well and take lactulose to keep my stools soft but i'm unable to exercise.
Im so depressed and just want to feel normal again. Go for a walk, take the kids to the park, go on holiday, find a job I can't believe all the things this horrible condition is making me miss. I feel like i've missed my baby growing up. I know how lovely it is to be a mum because I enjoyed every minute with my first baby but now i'm a different person in an awful place.
A thrombosed external hemorrhoid popped up Tuesday and had it taken off yesterday. Didn't sleep all night in pain and in quite a bit of pain today.
Wondering what a normal recovery is like? Trying to not get down by being realistic.
I have had five kids and i have been having pain in my rectum with sharp shooting pain that also goes to my front also like a swollen pain ill get it every once in awhile i have been having the symptoms of ibs for several yrs and i got the pain right now and it hurts like crazy what could that be i'm really ain't that sexually active since i had my kids and got a tubal.
View 1 RepliesSo this is an embarrassing topic to touch on. But due to my amount of pain and the lack of clinics open due to tomorrow being new years day. I will turn here for support.
Yesterday, I woke up with severe rectal pain. Today it has gotten worse. It burns, aches and is unbearable to sit, walk, or move in any way.
I just recently had my first look at it and I do have a tender lump on the outside. The pain spreads to the inside but most of the pain seems to be coming from that one tender lump. I cannot stand the pain. My only relief is a hot bath, which sucks to get back out of and Vicodin or tramadol which I have had left over since my kidney stone attacks but that's another topic.
The lump is not discolored or anything, it just severely hurts to touch and I have tried everything I have seen on the internet to provide no relief.
Preparation H, no relief.. Also have been alternating between Ice, heat and hot baths with epsom salt. Also have been using triple antibiotic cream, witch hazel and coconut oil..
I am really hoping this doesn't turn into an emergency room visit.
I just don't know if it is a hemorrhoid or a fissure or what the difference is between the two or how to even treat this issue and earn some relief.
My neuro ophthalmologist has ordered blood test for genetic testing and my insurance has finally approved it. I am wondering if anyone has had this test before. I don't know why he does not do a muscle biopsy instead but I don't really want one. He is pretty sure I have CPEO.
View 1 RepliesFor the last few months I have had unusual stools, sometimes they are normal and sometimes they are long and thin. Others are just goopy and take forever to wipe. I'm paranoid I may have a rectal prolapse. Do iv would lie to know how long it takes for an internal prolapse to become external?
View 4 RepliesI believe a have a hemorrhoid. There is a rather large, hard bump under the skin just forward on the anal opening (1/2 inch) and a little to the left side. It started about 5 days ago with a slight irritation. Two days ago the bump grew and it became uncomfortable to sit. Yesterday and today the pain is unbearable. I have trouble turning in bed, sitting up, sitting on the toilet, or just moving about. This morning I noticed pinkish fluid discharge and I thought the hemorrhoid burst. The pain is even worse and I have trouble urinating and I have a fever. I've had this before in the past and it always burst and the pain went away immediately. However, this time it's a little different. Could it be something more than a typical hemorrhoid? I'm in Thailand and the medical quality is, well, I rather be back home at this time.
View 1 RepliesHad my op last week so only a week out, well I was told it was going to be painful but I'm in so much pain today after going to the toilet. Constant stabbing pain, taken tramadol and nurofen but no relief, Feeling quiet sick with it to. Saw nurse yday said it was swollen and really bruised but this has been the worse day by far. I had 4 removed grade 3 and 4 and was told they were very large, also a thrombotic skin tag which was was hanging down about 12 mm. Just want to no does this pain get better soon struggling to cope today. Any idea on how to cope with the pain to getting quite depressed now.
View 34 RepliesI have no discomfort from the piles just this small amount of blood every day. I'm worrying myself sick it's bowel cancer and am scared to go back to doctor. I have a terrible fear of having to have anesthetic if I needed an operation. I just wondered if what I have is normal symptoms of piles?
View 10 RepliesI had my op 2 days ago and at first I thought that the pain was bearable, what I didn't know was that it hadn't even begun!
I have suffered with painful piles for many many years, I had them injected which eased them for a while the doctor at the hospital told me it was necessary for me to have surgery.
I prepared myself as best as I could by getting healthy. I ate a healthy diet and walked for an hour a day as well as working a 40 hour week.
But nothing prepares you for this. I have been in terrible pain all night, I passed my first motion in the early hours and the pain was so severe I was sick everywhere at the same time, which put a further strain on my bum. The pain since has been so intense that I don't know what to do with myself. I laid in the bath for half an hour which gave some relief but once out the pain was back.
I'm quite young (23) and for a few years I've been experiencing hemorrhoids more and more frequently. I don't remember not having one in the last year : a new one always seems to replace another at a different place. For now the inconvenience is limited : there is no bleeding and I feel pain when I touch them, nevertheless my recent hemorrhoids are really between the interior and the exterior, which makes them shuttle a bit and create a smell sometimes, particularly noticeable after sweating.
SOLVING ATTEMPTS AND DISCUSSION
To keep it short, I've decided to greatly diminish my straining and my wiping for the last three months, which were both out of the norm in my opinion. Surprisingly, it was quite the opposite of an improvement, but I plan to keep those habits and to add more vegetables to my diet (which is fine on other regards). Besides, I'm a rarely constipated person and I believe my stool is a bit softer than average.
If I had to guess what are the causes of my problems, I'd say :
-the stress is causing me to contract (tighten)myself you know where all day long, or even the night.
-keeping the stool inside instead of pushing might not be a good idea and might cause more harm than good.
-inadequate (not in length or strength but in the manner) pushing. -too much leg-crossing or other bad positions.
-bowel movement at fix hour every day, instead of waiting for the opportunity (which I find to be quite hard).
Could anyone help me with this situation ? I'm afraid to endure a life of increasing pain. A doctor's advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have done surgery last year January, and it was all good until last week, but now i feel like pain in the surgical place. It's uncomfortable to sit or lay down sometimes.. Am i getting the piles again?
I usually have nothing to do, so i just sit and watch movies. Can sitting alot lead to me piles again?
I have had a case of mild hemorrhoids/piles for a year or two now. There are visible bumps and some mucous, but there is absolutely no pain or discomfort. Just bumps! They don't sting when I touch them at all, but sometimes after painful movements, there's some blood. I'm just concerned by their presence, is there any way I can get rid of them at home? I don't really have the time or money to pay for any surgery, unfortunately. However, if there's any way I can't make them go away, that'd be great. I am twenty years old.
