View 2 RepliesI am 32 years old male. I was diagnosed with prostatitis. What does it mean? Anyone have prostatitis? I also have fever. Can antibiotics help me?
View 1 RepliesAnyone on here have chronic prostatitis. I've dealt with mine for 6 + years now. It's debilitating! Not sure if it came from infected bladder stones or unprotected sex.
View 7 RepliesAnyone got any advice re having a PAE if you have chronic prostatitis? Would it help or not? I have an enlarged prostate as well and have been thinking of having a PAE but wonder how that would affect the prostatitis.
View 14 RepliesI have had CP for almost 3 years. I can't remember life without it or being able to sit down in real comfort. I have had all the hospital tests and regularly have a well-man check every autumn. I still try to keep fit and go walking and having recently retired so I am determined not to let it spoil my life. You always continue to worry that it will not turn into something else. I probably don't take as many pain-killers anti anti-inflammatory drugs as I should because you feel that can't be good for you as well. I dream of the day it will go but I fear it will be around for a long time yet, if not for ever.
View 4 RepliesFor the last couple of weeks, I’ve had this uncomfortable feeling of not being able to empty my bladder completely. I also have a delay of hesitation when I’m urinating. I told my doctor about that, and he said that I probably have BPH or chronic prostatitis. I’m not sure what’s the difference between those two conditions.
View 1 RepliesI have a chronic Prostatitis. I feel a soft burning. I am 51. Could help me get rid of it?.
View 2 RepliesI am 36. I have chronic prostatitis for 18 years, that's half my life. My experience in the disease and treatment follows:
The pain is intense and crippling. I have to be in bed all the time. Intense spasms. Symptoms move from urethra to prostate, back, ass, testicles so when you feel you finished with a symptom there starts another. I also may have difficulty urinating and some time ejaculating. This condition has remained idle for a total of 6 years out of 18 and whenever I feel it is gone I have a really good flare up the very next day. Idle means I am not in pain but I get to wet my pants after urinating.. That is the closest I can have to normal life. My sex life is not good because I get erectile dysfunction when chronic prostatitis is active. When it moves to being idle there is a tendency for restoration of erectile capacity however it is clear to me that I do not respond to visual stimuli any more . Reason for ED is venous leakage. Location of pain is as such that I frequently check both my urinary system and intestines.
Findings: High bladder neck, non typical inflammation of colon, prostate has no infection
Medical checks so far: Urethroscopy, Colonoscopy. prostate, testicular, bladder, kidney ultrasounds. urine and prostate fluid cultures.
All cultures have come back negative. Bladder ultrasound shows some urine remaining after fully urinating.
Experience with medication: I have used antibiotics, a-blockers, mesalazine for my intestines and cortisone (buddy cole). For ED I have used Viagra and Cialis.
When I have flare ups NO medication works to control the pain. Or it may work for some weeks and then all of a sudden stop working. Medication for ED seems to be effective provided my symptoms are either gone or are not too intense. Symptoms come and go and it seems I cannot really control them.
Psychological impact: I am desperate and seriously considering suicide when I have flare ups
Social impact: No friends left. I do not have the energy to move out of bed
Fertility: Thankfully no problems whatsoever. However I am extremely worried whether my offspring will have the same problems as I do.
I am going away for a conference on the 20th of Feb and dreading the thought of what I am going to eat. It is a full day event and my boss is planning on taking the team out for a meal afterwards which I cannot get out of since we are all travelling together. What kind of things could I eat? I was thinking maybe a salad with dressing on the side?
View 1 RepliesLast night we very weird towards the end of the night I started getting very dizzy and kind of disoriented which started to scare me a little bit. Then I tired to go to sleep and for some reason I kept waking up really scared, thinking I'm dying, wanting to run to the hospital, everything felt like it was closing in on me, hot and kind of freaking out. I would be extremely dizzy and felt like I couldn't see straight. Still kind of feeling that way now because I didn't get much sleep maybe. My head started hurting and it was all very weird. This morning I'm the same way and when I try to go back to sleep my stomach gets upset and won't let me. I'm also very stuffed up my nose is horrible. I feel like I'm going crazy
View 4 RepliesI'm a 22 year old male and for as long as I can remember I've always had eye floaters, normally in my left eye and in a wired kind of L and C shape. I've never really thought about them till recently cos I've noticed (or maybe I've only just started actually thinking about it) that they occur more often. they haven't really changed in shape or size, don't seem to flash or cause any other symptoms, it's just there.... mainly seem to happen more at work or when I'm in a brighter atmosphere, I went for an eye test 8 months ago and she said everything is fine (apart from having a slight astigmatism in my left eye) and to come back for another check in 5 years.
should I worry about these floaters? apart from these my eyesight is perfectly fine and eyes appear healthy, thanks!
What kind of food give B12
View 2 RepliesI'm a 16 year old male, first time being here. So, I have a problem to talk about since I feel like I might enter the sexual contact stage of my life soon. I have these "lips" around my meatus for about a year or more, but never really noticed them until the last couple of days. Never had any sexual intercourse before. I've done some research on some random forums and came to a conclusion that these appeared from my harsh and rough masturbation, sometimes to the point of the meatus kind of splitting a bit, washing penis glans and meatus with soap after masturbation. It doesn't really hurt, but this morning it kind of swollen up a lot more because I've washed off smegma the day before and the skin didn't really retract and cover the "lips", so it was super sensitive. I've read somewhere that I might be stuck with this for the rest of my life. Are there any ways to treat this? I'm very anxious about everything in life, suffer from a few anxieties and depression.
View 2 RepliesExperienced light spotting, during last period. After it ended, I started experiencing sore and itchy vagina, and muscle spasming in my legs.I have tried various over the counter things, and my legs have calmed down, but keep me awake a lot. I found a pill that calms the sore itching also, but comes back when I don't take the pill. I now have a clear kind of watery discharge. As well, last night a good gob of hair fell out on my vaginal area. What is going on? Also, I am nearing my next menstrual cycle.
View 1 RepliesI have kind of holes half way up my penis that go directly down under a thin but of skin, and when squeezed white pus comes out. I have developed more of these "holes" recently which has got me more worried. I had also used Canesten fungal cream as I first believed it as a fungal infection.
View 1 RepliesRandomly during the day, triggered by some kind of movement I will get a sort of electric current sensation always starting in my lower back and spreading to my arms and legs. Never above the neck. Sometimes only the left side of my body, sometimes only the right side. I could also describe it as the feeling you get when you cut circulation off your arm from sleeping on it wrong, and when you wake up and move it so that the blood flows freely again, that kind of numb tingling you get. It kinda feels like that throughout my whole body. It usually last about 30 seconds and can happen several times a day. Anybody with any ideas? this has been going on for years, and has become more frequent.
View 4 RepliesI have general questions on those 3 above. Recently I have experience side effects ( I think) from the above medication and would like to decide if it is worth taking anything in addition to prednisone. Side effects are mainly with stomach and lately with cramps in the leg muscles. First I had constipation for month or so; lately it is soft stool, and frequent bathroom visits. I think side effects are caused by complete change in the bacteria culture in the intestines killed by antibiotics. What also does not help is PPI interfering with mineral absorption and ( most likely) causing low potassium and magnesium levels and thus muscle cramps.
So:
- How often are antibiotics and PPI given along with prednisone?
- How necessary is PPI if I take split dose, 5 mg each, and with lots of yogurt?
- After taper, at what level of pred one does not need antibiotics and/or PPI?
I have my monthly appointment with rheumatologist this week and would like to prepare for it.
Unprotected sex with a female that I know well (but do you really know people? she says i have nothing to worry about) , happened approx 7 weeks ago. Approximately 3 weeks post, was diagnosed with Prostatitis. I'm a 46 y/o male and have crohn's. The provider stated usually caused by bacteria, or often times is an unknown cause. All my blood work CBC, CMP etc came back within normal ranges. We did a gonorrhea and Chlamydia test via urine specimen and it was negative as well. Antibiotic, seemed to clear it up, though still seem to have mild flare now and then.
I googled the condition just to look for some additional information. I see that it is one of the most common urologic conditions for men and seems to hit the 40-50 year range most. I was concerned when I saw that HIV was listed. To this I am freaked out and have become very stressed. The provider wasn't even going to do the G&C tests until I asked if we should - and she didn't seem too concerned.
Question:
1) Is Prostatitis an indication of an HIV infection? An ARS symptom? Do I have a need to worry? (understanding a test is the way to rule out, which I will have done)
2) Can my test at this point in time be considered conclusive once completed?
I was diagnosed with prostatitis and have been on FloMax since then. I haven't had any pain or complications from prostatitis for 2 months. I need advice if decide to have anal sex with a partner(of course, using a condom), will it cause any problems or negatively harm my prostate? In other words, is it ok to have anal sex considering my current condition.
View 1 RepliesI am looking for herbs that can cure prostatitis. Have any of you found a good remedy for this? I am not interested in homeopathy as such, as I had bad experienced with that in the past, but just plain herbs would be great. If anyone can post their information up here, that would be so useful!
