Anxiety Can Cause Diabetes And Hypertension?
Apr 12, 2016
I heard that anxiety can cause diabetes and hypertension.
This makes me just thinking all the time about it and I'm trying to not do alot of exposures therapy because of this idea.
I'm 30 and have no medical condition.

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 3 weeks ago. It goes hand in hand with my hypertension and although I have various appointments for dietitian, podiatrist, eye testing, bloods etc, I feel a bit confused just now. I've got tablets for cholesterol too. I want to manage these things as best I can but my eyesight is terrible - suddenly worse than before and I worry about what to eat (although presumably that will be sorted out with the dietitian. I just feel a bit lost just now. I'm a fit (but overweight) person and feel it's all a little unfair really. It's easter and everyone's tucking into chocolate eggs and I'm not!! I'm really feeling sorry for myself today aren't I? Any advice and or assurance would be very welcome at this point.

I really want to breastfeed my son I breastfeed my first son 8 years ago but this time there are third medications that would have to be changed in order to make that possible. One is for diabetes, changing that could be dangerous. The others are for adhd and anxiety, I need to go back on to be able to function to the best of my ability. But breastfeeding is so good for the baby is easier and cheaper. I feel like i'm being selfish in away if I don't breastfeed but if I don't have my meds. That could prove to be bad to.

I'm scared that all the sweets I crave and eat throughout the day will cause me to have GD.
but even worse, I'm wondering whether that could cause my baby to be born with type 1 diabetes? what are the effects of GD on the baby?

I was diagnosed with PMR 6 months ago and am currently taking Prednisolone which has a big effect on my diabetes control. I am having a bit of trouble controlling my blood sugar levels and keeping them out of double figures. The levels are not consistent so counting carbs can be a problem. I test before I eat and try to tailor the insulin to the food I am eating but it seems very hit and miss and I sometimes end up with a hypo or a 20+ blood sugar result for no reason that is clear to me. I am eating a low carb diet but not cutting it out completely.

I am looking for any diabetes patients, or people who know diabetes patients, who are treating their condition with herbs. What I am after is some info for a blog post I am currently working on. I am a bit clueless on this subject - I don't know if treating diabetes with herbs is a realistic approach?

have been on Indapamide a few months and so far so good, feel so much better since coming off ramipril! I am also warm all the time which is such a change, I Was always cold when my bp was so high! I just wanted to say something positive about a drug as I find it very good with little side effects apart from tinnitus but that's nothing compared to previous side effects. I spoke to a nurse who uses this drug and she says it's fairly new and quite expensive so not used a lot but anyone struggling for a good drug, I think it's okay, don't know if it reduces bp as still have phobia but feel great!

I have had high blood pressure since 2009. My medication will control it until around my menstrual cycle. I will have horrible headaches that turn into migraines and my blood pressure will jump to 180/110 and stay there for a few days. My doctor stated that it is stress related, but my question is: if it is stress related, why do I just have these horrific headaches and my blood pressure skyrocket just around my menstrual? I can't find the answer. I have researched it and have ask my physician, but no new light has been shed. Does anyone have any information?

I have had knee problems off and on for about seven years. Yesterday my doctor decided that my cartilage has finally 'Gone', probably finished by getting off our local trains where not only do you have to Mind the Gap but have a good two feet to step down. He is arranging for another X-Ray prior to discussing my surgical options. Two years ago after the last X-ray I was told that my knee was in good condition for my age:-)
Meantime he reluctantly prescribed an NSAID ( Naproxen) after considering my BP and past stomach ulcer and other problems.
Reading the packet insert it tells me that Losartan and most hypertensive drugs may be affected by how NSAIDS work.
Googling Naproxen + Losartan I read, "Significant interaction possible (monitoring by your doctor required).
losartan oral , naproxen oral . Either increases toxicity of the other by Other mechanism. Combination may reduce kidney function, particularly in elderly or volume depleted individuals.
naproxen oral decreases effects of losartan oral by opposing drug effects. Combination may reduce blood pressure reducing effect"

I was started on Lisinopril and had a terrible cough so doc switched me to 25mg Losartan. I have been taking it since January 11th. the drug works well as far as no side effects but it seems like BP is higher than when I was on Lisinopril and my numbers are all over the board.

My 12 year old daughter had had headaches for some time and her endocrinologist advised her to have an eye test. I say 'endocrinologist' as she was born without a thyroid gland (extremely rare) and she's been taking thyroxine since she was 10 days old. She's also monitored for her hypothyroidism. Anyway, between her doctor's appt and her eye test, she got her first period. So we blamed her headaches on her development. The ophthalmologist said that my daughter needed to increase her lenses. So again, we put her headaches down to this. By time, her headaches moved down to her neck and 4 months later, at another routine eye test, I mentioned this and the ophthalmologist decided to look behind her eyes. He was horrified to see extreme swelling of both optic nerves and a swollen brain. She was admitted into hospital and had a CT Scan done. Luckily there were no tumours but a lumbar puncture showed that her CSF pressure was 50 (it should be 15-18). She was immediately started on diamox 250mg (acetazolamide). After a few days this dose doubled. Today she has just had her 6th lumbar puncture and as the pills don't seem to be working - her CSF pressure is on the rise again, her medication has been increased again. She's taking 2g per day (750mg-500mg-750mg) daily, which i think is too much for a child. On the 23rd July she's having her 7th lumbar puncture and also seeing a neurosurgeon, because inserting a shunt seems to be the only solution. Lets hope and pray all will be ok.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. My pressure was at 38. I lived in pure worry for 6 months and went back again and it was 32. I still live in fear and my doctors acted like it was not a huge deal but want to see my every 6 months. They did an echo and EKG. I don't go back again until March but for the last week my right lung feels like its being squeezed and then I can't get any air. I'm so scared but I also have bad anxiety and panic. I just feel like k can't get any air in my right lung. When I lay down it somewhat goes away. I'm 31 and somewhat overweight. I have a lot of stress because my mom just passed away. I also have two kids and am scared I'm gonna die all the time. Just wondering if anyone else has this or is it my anxiety. I read online about how bad pulmonary hypertension and am in constant worry
