Adical Retropubic Protatectomy - Urinary Incontinency

In my case radical retropubic prostatectomy was performed on 5th January, 2016.Since then I am continent only while sitting or laying. But I am continuously dripping while walking or standing & urine do not get collected. I am very much frustrated as after four months of surgery I am still incontinent while walking or standing. Please can anyone help me that how much time it will take to become completely continent during walking or standing. I am doing kegel exercises continuously and also taking tablet Dariten OD 15mg daily since my surgery. I am sixty years old from India.

I am a bloke of 66 yrs and am having incontinency/ejaculation problems.
In July 2013 I had an operation – (HOLEP) as I had an enlarged prostate, the operation went well and I was back home in a couple of days. But for a while now I get very down and wish I had never had the operation.
After the op, although I tried to do the pelvic floor exercises I found it quite difficult, and eventually stopped, I did buy a pelvic floor stimulator (male type) and used that for a while.
Anyway now the incontinency is not a major problem as it is a stress type and not always. BUT what is a problem is that when I ejaculate I pee as well, just a bit but it is there and consequently this means no sex since the operation.
I knew there was a risk of incontinence and also reverse ejaculation (semen goes into bladder) I used Tena Men for a while but found after a few months did not need them. I can’t remember when I first tried masturbation after the op but I did, and was pleased to discover that there was no reverse ejaculation (well most of the time anyway but what did concern me was during the act before ejaculation I would pass pee almost like milking. This has gradually got worse and unless I force myself to pee before I masturbate I even pee as I ejaculate.
The consultant did say he had removed most of the prostate, and as it goes through the pelvic floor muscle (I think) is it possible that the muscle is damaged around the urethra.

I recently left hospital and during my stay had a catheter inserted, since returning home I am suffering from bouts of weeing in my sleep. Is this normal and will it pass?

Friend had stroke end of jan. He's now having serious retention problems. Drs not sure if it is neurological or physical. He's trying to urinate every 10 mins with acute pain. If it's neurological I wouldn't have thought he was trying to void. He's had a urethral catheter in since stroke till a few weeks ago and now got a convince catheter. Problem has got increasingly worse over last few months and last week extremely worse. He's due to go into hospital on Monday if bed available for other treatment. Today though I may insist on him going down to a&e as the pain is now getting much worse. He's even on morphine for other issues and pain goes beyond this. Any thoughts?

After taking Fluoxetine for 2 months now, I have had a number of episodes of urinary incontinence.After searching the Internet, I found a number of sites connecting the two.Has anybody taking Fluoxetine also had this problem? I Would rather have severe depression than incontinence

In October last year I had a urethral dilatation after suffering from continual uti's which my urologist said was due to a narrow urethra.Since then I have had a number of episodes of incontinence both urge and stress which is making my life hell.
Has this happened to anybody else?.The infections have stopped but the incontinence is far worse

For about a week now, I've experienced a slight itch and sometimes a strange smell with my urine. However, if I drink a lot of water, my urine is normal despite the slight itch that stays there after urination. Nothing is unbearable. I'm not super uncomfortable. I've been drinking a ton of water, so I'm not sure if my frequent urination is due to water consumption or a possible UTI. My gyno has told me that I do produce a more than normal amount of yeast, but I've never had a yeast infection. I've also never had a UTI.
I feel fine. No cramping. No pain. No nausea.
Is this a UTI or yeast infection? Could it be something else?

Doc changed my BP tabs to Doxazosin recently as the amlodipine caused me dreadful muscle pain. However... since I've been on Doxazosin I have developed urinary incontinence. Not happy! It's worse in the morning after I've taken the tablet 2mg. Gets a bit better as the day goes on. Anybody else had this effect?

I've noticed in the last couple of months every now and then I have urinary incontinence. It's not a massive amount but it's more just embarrassing because I don't realise it has happened. I'm 25. Any ideas on what could cause this?

My 73 yo father had a radical surgery 5 years ago (prostate removal) due to the cancer. To date, he is suffering from urinary incontinence. He is also taking "Cymbalta" as a medication but no relief has been granted. I was wondering if anyone could let me know about a new medication in the market that would work better than "Cymbalta" ?

A CT scan showed my husband had a kidney stone in his urethra. He is not sure if he passed it yet or not. One day he had huge, huge pain and I took him to the hospital and they gave him pain pills but since then (a week ago) he's had no pain, so he thinks he might have passed it. Only one problem - he has urinary incontinence which is driving him crazy. Any thoughts?

I am 22 years old, first time pregnancy, 39 weeks. Completely healthy other than this one problem that i have had my entire life. Ever since I was a baby I have not been able to control my bladder when I laugh. Almost every single time I laugh I wet my pants...its very embarrassing...Throughout my life I have been very ashamed of this issue and honestly have tried to hide but as I have gotten older it continues to get worse. I know have to wear pads whenever I go anywhere where i think i will laugh otherwise i soak myself through my underwear. Most doctors think it is stress incontinence. They say because I have trouble relaxing when I use the bathroom I do not empty my bladder all the way and have urine left over, hence why I have to use the bathroom every 20 to 30 minutes. Naturally being pregnant it has just gotten worse. No one can give me a REAL HONEST answer on whether or not my problem will get worse if I have a vaginal delivery I would like to have a vaginal delivery but only if my problem is not gonna get way worse. Im already in pads I dont wanna be in diapers and I only have a week left. I have scheduled the C but the doc says it up to me....NOTE: I have seen several urologists and because I have no definitive diagnosis none of them can recommend for or against the C section.

After being diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis in 1992 and undergoing several other treatment options that were not successful, I had back surgery, a laminectomy w/bone fusion. I then developed urinary incontinence, which is still a problem for me. and also lost my mobility. I am now spending most of the time in a wheelchair, although I am able to use a walker for very limited distance walking. I still suffer from back pain but do get some relief from a prescription pain med. I just wondered if anyone else had developed urinary incontinence after having back surgery?

I had prolapse repair and perineorrhaphy repair in May this year ever since I have urinary incontinence leakage I never stuffed with before hospital told me physio is only cause of action at moment someone please tell me there is light at end of tunnel feel so depressed.

I'm a 20 year old female, I had a nose operation and came out with a Catheter from the hospital as I was unable to pee after my op. I had been getting urine infection almost every second week with the Catheter. I finally got that out at the end of June and following a failed twc I was taught self catheterisation.
2 days later I ended up in hospital unable to perform it where they drained my bladder for me. I was then released 5 days later managing to catheterise myself.
After coming out of hospital I have been getting these sharp pains I my sides, initially just my left side but know my right side under my ribs and goes round to my back. I went to the doctors on Monday and showed I had a severe urine infection... I was given ciprofloxacin 500mg and tramadol 50mg 4 times a day... I also was told my kidneys were a bit inflamed.
I went back on Friday as I was feeling worse! They done a dip test which showed no infection but was sent to the lab anyway, I was taken of the tramadol and put on paracetamol and codeine if I needed it (which I do) I have now been constipated since Monday as well!
I'm still getting this horrible sharp pain in my sides and lower back as well as very nauseous ( not been sick though) and extremely tired all the time. I'm getting really sick of it all now and just don't know what to do nothing is taking the pain away, any suggestions would be great! I'm sick of constant visits to the doctor but don't seem to get anywhere with them.

Three times this year I've had pain when and after urinating and each time the doctor prescribed me antibiotics for a urine infection.The first two times it cleared up, but the third time she gave me different antibiotics and although it cleared up at first, within a week the symptoms were back. I went back and saw a different doctor who told me that the previous urine samples taken had shown no infection.
Recently I feel a little sore down below most of the time, but it becomes a lot worse when I go to the toilet, particularly at the end. And I usually get a few hours in the day when it is really really sore and occasionally a little itchy.

I've been HSV1+ (oral) for 20 years. Several months ago I had unprotected intercourse with a woman 3 times. Within 2 days, maybe sooner, I felt irritated on the shaft of my penis and the irritation and redness have been almost constant for 6 months. I've had 2 IgG tests at 3 weeks and 6 months, both were HSV1+ and HSV2 neg. All other STD tests were negative. 4 dermatologists didn't think much of it but one thinks it could be a herpetic neuralgia causing the issue. Never had an issue before the intercourse with this woman and issue happened immediately after and I'm not one for coincidences. I've tried all types of creams and have been on valtrex for months with no improvement of symptoms. I've also had urinary incontinence - leaking, which started one month after skin irritation began. Any thoughts??
