Yogurt Helps When Applied To Sunburn?
Sep 5, 2013
My six year old daughter has suffered from a bad sunburn and I feel dreadful. I realize it is absolutely my fault that it happened, but we having fun at the beach and we forgot the time. I really didn't notice how red she was until much too late.
At the moment it is sore and hot to the touch and she's in pain.
Now I have heard some stories about things that might help. The only thing I have in the house right now is Greek yoghurt. I don't want to run off to the pharmacy because I would rather take care of it right now.

Since I was 13 I've been plagued by Candida. I told my mom about it when I first found out what it was and asked her to take me to the doctors. She never did so I thought it would go away on it's own. 2 years later I was sick of it and went to my school nurse for help. She had given me the cream that's inserted deep into the vagina and I had started treatment, but then after one dose, I got my period so I had stopped treatment. I went back to my school nurse and she gave me the pill telling me it would get rid of the symptoms but it never helped. Unfortunately I moved to the country where I was then taught at home and I had no one to go to for help. And so I read online that Greek yogurt helps alot and so I started eating one pot a day like it said as well. That helped with the symptoms but it never got rid of it. I'm 18 now and I have moved back to the city and I have tried the creams twice, but every time I've started bleeding, which is unusual because I had the Jadelle inserted. I am literally stuck on what to do next

I have just started using testosterone gel applied to my thighs in the morning. Per the instructions that came with it, I don't shower for at least two hours (usually four hours later) and thoroughly wash the application area. I'm very paranoid about being intimate with my wife because of the cautions concerning skin to skin contact. How many hours do we need to wait? We're morning people so I thought if we did it before my daily application, she might be OK... Does anybody have any insight?

I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago and everything is feeling great except if I sit Indian style and apply pressure to the outer side of my heel I get a very. Sharp pain that goes away as soon as I let off of it. It doesn't hurt at all when I walk or run and put upward pressure on the heel. Only when pressure is applied from the side of the heel bone. Any ideas?

hi! i just moved from germany (where there is no sun!) to texas (i'm sure you all know how that goes!). i took a motorcycle safety class and the first day we were out in the sun a lot more than i thought we would be. long story short i got a really bad sunburn on my face and neck/shoulder/collarbone area. i got the sunburn last weekend and just started peeling yesterday...
anyway i haven't had a sunburn in a very long time so i have been peeling off the dead skin myself. i didn't realize until i googled it today that i shouldn't do that i am about to go take a chilled bath... i don't have any lotions that are fragrance free or any soap like that... what should i do? will it leave a scar? how likely is infection since i've been peeling myself? i have all these pink spots now mixed in with the burnt skin mixed in with my normal skin. it's very ugly! but that's not what bothers me, i just don't want to get sick!
and don't worry i have been on top of my sunscreen since then. sunburns are no fun!

I have been suffering with acid reflux for the past 10 years. I also became lactose/ gluten intolerant all of a sudden like 8 years back. Then I took probiotics for some time and my lactose / gluten intolerance became better. After that i took probiotics only when needed.
2 years back I got food poisoning from bad milk and to get better I started taking probiotics again and my diarrhea improved a lot however after couple of days of probiotics I started getting very bad reaction to them like severe burning in stomach , chest , acid reflux .. ( which kept me awake all night ) . since then every time i take probiotics or eat anything containing them like yogurt / fermented stuff etc. even in smallest quantity . I get similar reaction.
When i go to the GI and tell him about my acidity issues , he suggests to take more probiotics. . which is actually the cause of the problem.
Everywhere i read it says that probiotics are good for acid reflux and GI issues. Why is it in my case I get such adverse reaction to them . ?
I also tried taking prebiotic fiber and then probiotic , i still get the same reaction.

About a week ago i had a dull ache on my back behind or near my shoulder blade , i couldn't quite trace the source but found some crunchy , knotted tendons (probably not the correct word). Soon after i noticed a burning feeling , the best way to describe it is , when you get sunburn and put a shirt or top on , it gives that same feeling of mild irritation. I have no rash. After a few days i decided to go to the doctors , i told him the symptoms and he suggested it might be shingles , but only based on what i'd said. He gave me a choice of starting a course of tablets now , or waiting until a rash appeared. He said it's best to catch it early , so i took the option of the tablets (7 days supply) and a cream. The tablets are Aciclovir (800mg) , the cream is .... well , RED HOT CHILLIES !
I used the cream last night , but the burning was intense , the discomfort i had before was not that bad , the cream put the discomfort off the scale.
So , is it ok to take that course if i DON'T have shingles ?
Is the cream optional ? can i just not use it yet , as the discomfort is not that bad.
Today , my shoulder blade still has that odd dull ache and is only very mildly sensitive , could this be shingles ? is a sore area a symptom of shingles ? at times i'd thought it was a pulled or twisted muscle , the doctor made the diagnosis on what i'd said about the burning sensation. I did have a period in the last month when i was ill , flu like , so maybe i was a bit rundown.

About 5 weeks ago my right eye started to feel extremely painful to the point I ended up to A&E, The diagnosis was that I had a cornea cut and I was given some eye cream, over the following couple of days things go much worse, again back to A&E and still cornea cut, finally I was able to go to an Optometrist who quickly told me that the cream I was given were absolutely no help as I had Eye Shingles, and she prescribed VIRGAN,she also made a follow up appointment as I am half blind (left eye)..... 2 weeks passed and started to feel better, however follow up app and apparently shingles were still there. I was given tablets against the viral infection.....now after 10 days I feel it has gone worse where I am unable to look in the light at all and I am at a loss..... I would go back to the Optometrist on Monday but losing faith and not sure what else they can do as obviously I am pretty much at a loss (no punt intended).... anyone has had experience with eye shingles and what were the best "products" provided?

I was diagnosed with peripheral polyneuropathy 11 years ago. I take 300mg lyrica/day 60mg duloxetine/day and now they want me to take an opiate nucynta to manage my pain since I have trouble with pain. I live in California and recently got my MM license and obtained some Charlotte's web which is suppose to help with pain. Helps a little but pain killers work better. A friend of mine had me smoke some pot by way of vaporizing and it actually took my pain spike away for about 5 hours. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm afraid of what vaporizing cannabis could do to my health. However I feel like I actually have found a way to reduce my intake of meds and much more affordable.

Years ago (on Woman's hour I think) I heard that strongly pinching your lip helps to stop a cramp.
I know that there is no scientific evidence for such a form of treatment but it certainly works with me and several other people I have suggested it too.
Since it is likely to be harmless it seems to work on at least some people it would seem worth suggesting and even one day doing a proper trial on more patients.
Certainly as good as most other suggested forms of treatment

I was prescribed 300mg to be taken at night of Gabapentin for acquired nystagmus. I have been diagnosed with severe bilateral vestibular lose and in conjunction with nystagmus, I've developed oscillopsia. My GP recommended Gabapentin as a means to possibly settle down nystagmus. Has anyone had experience with this or any advice to share in how long it takes to understand if it does or does not work. I'm only couple days so experiencing some side effects such as headaches and dizziness but I assume this will pass.

I am a 60 yr old woman and I have smoked for roughly 35 yrs. I have attempted to quit at least 3-4 times seriously. I've always had the horrible cravings even when using patches etc. this time I had my mind made up to do it finally and I just happened to be taking 300 mg of Wellbutrin at the time and I had actually forgotten that this could be helpful. I asked my dr to call in a prescription for the patches which he did. Anyway to say that it was easy is an understatement. You can imagine then my surprise to find out after using the 2nd box of patches that I had been using just the 7 mg patches all along. It Had to be the Wellbutrin that made the difference !! I was very surprised but extremely happy to become a Non-smoker !! It's been 10 months and I have no cravings. and I feel great ! I would gladly promote the Wellbutrin to any current smokers that really want to quit. I have put on a few pounds but that is well worth it to be able to live long enough to see my great grandchildren someday I hope and pray !!!

I think Many people don't know that acupuncture is a great tool to help you stay away from cigarettes. Needles will not make you quit, but they will help you stay on track. Acupuncture will help by lessening withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms are (not limited to): stress, anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, and emotional distress.

I've had great success with PT for various muscle groups on the past. But sciatica is neurological. Can PT fix my nerves? Or will it alter where the nerves "run" by shifting muscle strength?
Just hard for me to believe PT can address tingly pain (which I have in right buttocsk and down leg).
Does MRI (which I've had plus x-rays) indicate if PT is a viable option vs. shots or....?
Should 5 PT sessions be enough to tell if PT will do the trick or not?
