Women's Health :: Copper/metallic Vaginal Smell?

The last couple of months, I have been suffering what I find to be an unusual vaginal odor. It is not "fishy" or "bleachy" but rather smells... metallic/coppery? Could also be described as a slightly "sour" smell?
Similar to the smell of menstruation-- yet occurs even when I'm not on my period. My discharge doesn't have this odor at all, and doesn't seem to be out of the norm. I can only smell it on my partner after we've had intercourse, etc
My doctor has prescribed me medication for yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis and both didn't seem to have any impact whatsoever on the issue.
I'm taking Blackmores Women's Bio Balance probiotics and I haven't seen any change either.
This is becoming very frustrating and putting a damper on my self-confidence and my sex life.

I have a problem with the rotten smell after sex. I have been with the same man for over 20 years and the smell is everyday. A little history, I had a tubal in 95, a reversal in 2005. No std's, no yeast infections, I don't have a cycle anymore and went to obgyn about it. What she told me is sometimes partners are just allergic to each other. Does that make any sense at all? I have tried everything. My husband has trouble urinating afterwards. Yes, I think others can smell it also, that's how bad it is. Do I go to another doc, or what? I am 49 and health otherwise. 140 pounds. I recently had dentures in and was given penicillin so not to get an infection. The smell disappeared. But after the medicine was gone, the smell is back. I need some help, some say from tubal, some say bv, others say partner and some say menopause. What the heck can I do or what should I do?

I have an unusual smell down there. I am a woman who is a virgin, but my boyfriend and I have tried fingering until we could get used to the fact of touching each other. The smell is very pungent and doesn't exactly smell like pee, so I'm not sure what it is. It comes out of my vagina so I'm sure its not pee. He tells me it doesn't bother him but I'm worried it does. I have a bad odor coming from my vagina when I sweat. It makes my pants smell in the crotch area. Sometimes it happens when I'm not sweating. I use a feminine wash and spray, but no change (good or bad). I asked my dr and she doesn't have an answer for me.

I'm 14 years old, 15 soon and I haven't had my period since around August (6 months). my period was regular until I got the birth control implant in my arm, (June) and then it was irregular. it would last for around two weeks and was light then it just stopped coming. I get sharp pains close to my hip bones and in my left side below my ribs. Recently I've had a lot of white discharge and a bad smell but today it was brown and smelled sour. I am sexually active but I am not pregnant.

So i just got an IUD inserted yesterday, and today I'm having foul smell spotting. The doctor's office told me it's probably just the iodine clearing out with the bleeding, but they didn't say how long it would last. Has anyone else had to deal with this nonsense, and if you have, how long did it take to get rid of the odor?

I am 15 years old and I came on here to see if anyone can give me advice. I am a virgin and I have had my period for almost 3 years now...I have had a white discharge and a fishy smell all the time for about a year or longer! I thought it would just gradually go away but it doesn't...I am pretty afraid to go to the doctors due to it being summer and what not. But I am embarrassed. There's this brown stuff in my undies. it's been happening for about 3 days now, and won't go away I'm not cramping i feel totally normal... usually it's yellowish but at first clear. For about a month now I have noticed a metallic smell coming from my vagina. Recently it has gotten stronger. During intercourse is the only time I smell it. I also am experiencing dryness during intercourse as well. My fiance noticed it a few days ago while we were intimate. He also said he felt a burning sensation, but I feel nothing. I noticed the following changes in my body when I experiencing some stress:
1. Frequent urge to urinate.
2. Restless legs (and other parts of body).
3. Heightened irritability (Anger/Mood swing).
4. Irritable bowel.
5. Metallic taste in my mouth and weak gums.
6. Metallic smell coming from my fingers.
7. Frequent feeling of thirst.
All of these seven symptoms occur simultaneously when I am late awake in the night or during stressful situations, and they are affecting my ability to function.
On a related note, I also experience sleep paralysis and hyperhidrosis but it is not simultaneous with the above symptoms.
I have noticed that these symptoms manifest themselves together. The restless legs problem occurs when there is urge to urinate (which is frequent) and I experience some relief after I urinate.
There is some bowel irritability and gastric problems which worsens during the night.
I have noticed that even at times when I do get my 8 hours of sleep in the day, I experience rage issues late in the night (at around 4-5 am) which recedes quickly in an hour or two.
I experience metallic taste in my mouth and a metallic smell in my fingers often. Other symptoms, such as gastric problems, urinary incontinence, and restless legs are almost always present when I am experiencing the metallic taste and smell.
The symptoms are relieved when I urinate (which I have to do quite often), brush my teeth, or sleep. They return quickly though when I am experiencing some level of stress.
The problems have been slowly worsening over the years and are interfering my ability to function normally.

I looked around for someone with the same problem, but I can't find it. Just in case anyone mentions it, it's not herpes or anything. It's just a stubborn ingrown hair wound that refuses to heal correctly...
I've had this one vaginal sore for months now. Sometimes it's healing well then it opens back up again with blood and sometimes pus. I find it really hard to stop this cycle. It's on the far left, so that every time I walk, my upper thigh rubs against it and irritates it. Taking a shower will soften any healing tissue, rendering it useless. Then there's the fact that the area is just naturally moist, so that will also soften the healing tissue.
I clean it and administer neosporin if the wound opens. Sometimes I try to cover it with a band-aid but... ouch. Usually, I try to keep it covered with some sort of gauze, but that doesn't work out well because it moves around.
Does anyone have any advice for getting this thing to heal?

I have been having intercourse with my boyfriend regularly for the past 5/6 months and we never use any type of protection (yes I know, really bad) we always just make sure he pulls out and he does and everything is just fine. I know that a "safe" time to have sex is during my period due to the fact that the ovule that wasn't fertilized was disposed so that happened. I was around my fourth or fifth day of my period (my normal period lasts 7 days) and he finished inside.. It's happened before so I'm positive there is no problem with that.
When my period finished, I noticed that I have had a lot of discharge and I don't know what it is or why it's happening. It's clear and very watery and sometimes I notice a "different" smell to it, I can't explain it though, it's a bit strong but it's not a completely foul odor either. I believe I should be in my fertile days about know or soon but this has been going on for about 2 weeks now and I'm starting to get worried. Does anyone know what it could be?
Could it be some sort of infection? Or a natural cleansing process? Or something else? Should I worry? Please respond soon as to I am very concerned

For the past couple days I have been experiencing this insanely disgusting odor from my vagina, especially during intercourse. At first I thought it was the smell of dry blood because my partner and I started having intercourse the day my period was suppose to end. After we finished we both noticed a horrible smell and that there were brown stains. I assumed that it was dry blood, but after a couple days the smell and brown discharge did not disappear, it just got worse. I felt some discomfort during intercourse but other than that physically I didn't feel anything, the only thing that was uncomfortable was the disgusting smell. The discharge was a brown liquid most noticeable when whilst on the toilet. I noticed that the discharge was coming deep within my vagina. So I started to google my symptoms and I my results came up with having a vaginal fistula. But it didn't make sense. I came across this website and the forum started by pain and shame, where you are now no longer able to comment thus why I am starting a new thread, and saw that she had the exact same symptoms that I was experiencing. I continued reading and she said that the root of her problem was a lost tampon. I thought to myself "no, that's impossible". Once reading the comments I went to the bathroom to check and to my utter most surprise I indeed found a tampon deep within my vagina. I was completely shocked, I had no idea that this was even possible. The tampon had rolled up deep inside and was difficult to remove, you definitely need time and patience to remove it. This definitely opened my eyes, I never knew this was possible and the consequences could have been dangerous, such as TSS. I just want readers to be aware that this can happen and if anyone is experiencing what I went through they should first check for a lost tampon.

So I'm in highschool and when I started my 3rd year, I decided that I wouldn't go to my mom's house anymore to eat. I would just go home and wait until my dad came so we can order food. So I would eat like at 8 or 9. Usually burgers and fries, pizza, or Chinese, etc. Junk food basically. So I would go to sleep after 30 minutes or a hour after eating. So I wouldn't feel like taking a s*** until I'm at school. I would hold it the whole day until I get home because the bathrooms are always filled with people or its dirty. I would also hold in farts. So one week, I didn't take s*** in five days. FIVE DAYS. So I finally used the bathroom and I was hella constipated. So I was there for like 30 minutes just pushing, and when it came down, it was like a log. My head hurt like crazy after I dropped It I was tired as hell. I even showered for another 30 min because of that. The next morning, I woke up and showered again because I usually shower 2 times a day. In the shower my anus felt weird, like as if it was open. I was scared but it went away after a while. So on Monday, I go to school, and I sit down in Trigonometry and my anus.... It starts to sweat, LIKE CRAZY.
