I'm not sure if I can post pictures here to show what I mean. I had my vasectomy 3 days ago. It seems like my left testicle it attached to the incision site. My right one is fine, and hangs where it should, but the left is up high at the base of my penis, eand the incision site is pulled in like a deep dimple. Will this go away on it's own or will I need another surgery?

View 1 RepliesI have lived with pain in my testicles ever since I made the biggest mistake of my life by having a vasectomy. This operation just has to be the most stupid thing I`ve ever done.
It was told it was ¬nothing much` but have been in pain for over sixteen years and it only gets worse. The long term risks have not been well enough explained and is much more common than was told to me.
The best advise I could give anyone thinking about the snip is DON`T

I still have mild pain and that feeling of sore and swollen testicles all the time. Prior to the Vas I was never aware of my testicles. After the op. they felt very painful for much of the first year. It is difficult to describe how foul it was but I found I could not sleep on my side and the pain would often wake me up. I think emotionally it was a trauma and I was off sex altogether for about a year. I have found since resuming sex for me does not have quite the same kick and I am not so interested(yes I know I am older but I think the link is to direct and immediate). I also think the operation damaged my self confidence.
I had it on the NHS. My wife had a problem with a UTI at 45 and Dr suggested I speak to them on the phone. Dr consultation involved a phone call only. They recommended a fellow GP to do it and when I asked about different methods insisted the method was a good as any. No other forms of Birth Control suggested apart female sterilization in spite of asking.
One nasty surprise was that the Anaesthetic failed- extreme pain for a brief moment - operation took nearly an hour.
My operation went smoothly and was done by a very professional doctor at our local hospital. It doesn't cost anything at our government hospitals and the operation is done by local private doctors. I am just a bit confused as to how much swelling and discoloration there should be. My entire scrotum and penis is purple and my testicles feel like they would do if I had jumped into a swimming pool and stung them! I have been unable to find any information regarding discoloration and even seeing pictures of others makes me wonder if I am bleeding or have bled too much internally?
View 2 RepliesI am sorry to say that my experience has been fowl, the operation took 50 mins on the NHS and I think the whole experience was a shock. Before the operation I had a virtually perfect sick record. However, I was too uncomfortable to get back to work for the best part of two weeks. Not the 2 weeks web sites suggest. It's now more than 14 months since I had the surgery and I always feel full and tight in the tesicles. I have libido but too much lingering aching pain after sex puts me off . It is a dreadful hot cold pain aching pain that carries on for a day or two after orgasm and difficult to describe. My sex life down from twice a week to less than once a month. For me it took away the joy of sex. and life
That warm feeling spreading from the groin on coming has gone. I find it very depressing because there seems to be no going back as more intervention appears not to cure these painful problems once started
Maybe I have just been very unlucky but I suspect that I am one a substantial minority
The trouble with medicine and outcomes is that vasectomy looks good on paper. I suspect there are a lot of men privately suffering varying degrees of pain.
I had a vasectomy a week ago and I'm experiencing a decent amount of pain in my left testicle.
I noticed while urinating that when I pulled forward on my penis as I finished that my left testicle hurts and is being pulled forward with the skin.
While on the pain meds I tested a bit more, as I continue to pull forward the left testicle comes forward more and if I tilt upwards it is also pulled outward so that it is standing out at a good angle.
When I do this there is a pocket of loose skin behind the testicle where it would normally be sitting.
(Trying to be as descriptive as possible here, if I were to lay on my back with an erection my testicles would be standing up as the highest point.)
I can feel under the incision that there is extra mass on the left side that seems to be connected to the testicle which is not present on the right side.
Basically any movement of my left testicle is painful, holding it closer to the incision site seems to help.
I'm worried that something coming off of the testicle got stitched in on accident or that it is just healing that way. This CANNOT be a permanent thing.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so did your testicle movement go back to normal on its own and if so how quickly?
I am 20 hours post-op and I'm not having any pain. Once the pain medicine I got from the hospital wore off. I'm almost 100% free of discomfort (I would rate what I have as 1 out of 10 when walking, no pain sleeping or sitting).
So is this cause for concern? I'm ready to call my doctor but all the post op papers I got from him were concerning having pain, not being pain free.
I am stitched and very well taped up. No problems around the wound and it is tender if I touch it but nothing like I experienced when I got the vasectomy originally (I wasn't stitched or taped up for that one, just a small band aid as the incision was very small).
Is this ok? I thought I'd at least feel the slight burning sensation of normal healing but I feel nothing but a slight tightness around my scrotum and that could be just the bandage.
Or am I speaking too soon and will it hurt later?
The best way about a vasectomy is to NOT have one. Anyone who thinks that they have got away without problems just can not say anything as PVPS can come on at any time until we die I know a friend who is in his mid-seventies and has more pain than in the whole of his life.

So, I know that by this age, I should be able to get my foreskin back behind the glans if I wanted too, except my foreskin is attached to the glans of my penis. It is not attached by the frenulum, it is attached by the synechia. From reading, I have learned that this should be dissolved at a young age. But it is still there. Even with my foreskin still attached, I can pull my foreskin back about halfway the length of the glans. When will my synechia dissolve? The synechia is almost connected all the way around my glans, except for a small gap which is about 1 cm long. I pull back every time I shower, and I also masturbate at an average of 2-4 times a day. I am really worried about getting circumcised.

I was first diagnosed with PAF ( paroxysmal atrial fibrillation) in 2011. Having spent a spell in CCU atrial flutter was also found. I was referred to the EP to discuss ablation but having heard the risks attached to this procedure decided against having it for the moment as I feel I have not explored all the medical treatments available yet. I currently take Bisoprolol 3.75 mgs and Eliquis 5mgs with no probs until last night. Last night I had a prolonged episode of AF which causes me to pass copious amounts of urine. I just wondered if this happens to anyone else. I have to say these attacks do freak me out somewhat, but try to stay calm. My trigger factors are caffeine, lying on my left side stress, and drinking cold drinks, is anyone else the same

I have 2 large lumps 1 at the incision site and 1 and the opposite end of the incision and they are both causing me a lot of pain which runs down my leg I have seen my doctor but has told me to give it a couple of months but I didn't get any pain like this the first time. Can a second vasectomy increase any chances of side effects or chronic pain.

View 1 RepliesI am 20 year old male. Not sexually active. OK for 4 hours now I have been experiencing a weird dull ache/pain/discomfort on the left side of my left testicle, and also slight discomfort in lower abdomen. The discomfort on the testicles is ONLY on the left side of my left testicle.
For the past hour I have been going crazy looking over all the possible problems that might be. However all these problems seem to have some kind of physical symptom. I checked my balls and I couldn't find anything wrong on the outside.
A week ago, i was playing soccer for about an hour. Seconds afterwards, I felt an uncomfortable feeling in my testicles. The next day was the same uncomfortable feeling. The pain wasn't too bad until exactly 6 days later when i woke up in bed and found that the pain was beyond what i could handle. Out of 10 i would describe this pain as a solid 8 and half. Anytime i stand up or sit down it feels like i've just been kicked there.Everytime i cough and sneeze the pain is excrutiatingly bad in my testacles and just above them in my groin. anytime i tense my core (abdomen) i get the same feeling of being kicked in the balls. I have searched google and what makes most sense so far is the theory of the testicular muscles extending up towards the stomach or abdomen being too short. Please if anyone knows anything of how this can be treated, let me know.
