Vasectomy :: Right Side Is Fine, Little Swelling On The Left
Apr 28, 2015
34 years male, had a vasectomy a week ago, the left side was quite painful during the op to the point it made me loudly say OW during the procedure. They gave more anaesthetic and carried on. The right side, no issue or pain.
A week on and I am still finding the left side rather painful, there is small swelling above the testicle and its still sore to touch, and aches, especially if i have been on my feet for a bit, which will cause pain when i walk too. I know timescales for healing is different for everyone, but I was hoping that by now I would not feel restricted on my daily activities. I have been fortunate that I have been on leave from work and due back in friday, I have an active job, and really not sure how i will cope with being on my feet for hours and possibly taking a knock to my testicles.
Just wondering really what others experiences are to do with recovery.

Just wanted to get a feeling for how other people progressed after surgery. Had mine 5 days ago and have experience no pain at all really. I have no trouble walking or sitting or anything.
There does seem to be a little swelling on the left side, which is a little sensitive, just wondered if anyone else had this and whether it will reduce over time.

I had my vasectomy 3 weeks ago and the left side has healed beautifully. The right side however has a donut shaped wound and string has come out and is hanging.

About a week and a half ago I woke up to my left eye completely swollen shut. Doctor gave me antihistamine and antibiotic to cover allergic reaction and infection. Swelling significantly went down but never 100%. Eyelid still throbbing on occasion and throbbing to side of eye and in corner. Swelling has moved to side of face and under chin. Had cat scan and ultrasound and nothing abnormal but everyone notices the swelling except my doctor down plays it. Something is going and I'm super frustrated with what it could be.

I just was wondering who has suffered the same and it's actually got better!? I suffer no pain ok maybe a slight ache if my testicle is squeezed/squashed but it's very hard to touch, I'm 10 days in post op and it's pretty much been ok had swelling that's gone down, I'm just concerned about the hardness of my testicle and the cause!? I'm seeing my GP in the morning and gonna book an ultrasound to check over my jewels.

I had successful hip replacement last September.
Around mid November I began to have chills and tingling in random places all around torso above waist and below neck and only in upper arms
Several doctors, a physiotherapist, a chiropractor later I paid to see a neurosurgeon who said it was nothing serious - he is arranging an MRI scan.
Three days ago I started with a rash with swelling about 4 cm by 2 cm on upper left side of my head accompanied by uncomfortable sometimes feeling around my left eye and a strong headache between the two area.
I am controlling it with Gabapentin cocodamol and ibuprofen.
We have been in Tenerife for three weeks and go back to UK on 22nd March- I've booked to see GP on 24 tha want to ask for check for herpes zoster virus.
Can anyone out there say what is going on?
We're due to celebrate our daughter in laws birthday next Friday..... Should I stay away to avoid co tag ion?

I had a vasectomy carried out under general anaesthetic (due to complications) on the NHS. It was done on a day ward.
I had no problems or complications other than a slight infection around the stitches. It took nine months before I got the all clear for having a zero sperm count though.

10 days ago I had a vasectomy and I felt pretty good over the weekend, recovery has been fairly easy. We were able to have intercourse which at the time helped the minor pain in my testicles. However this weekend I had to chase my son all over the place at our church because he wouldn't stay out of things lol and I was picking up our baby some too. I over did it because now all the pain is back and I'm swelled up... what should I do? There's one particular area that looks agitated because it is a little red and warm (probably from inflammation).

I have had a numb left leg for about 5 months now from my thigh down to my knee and it seems to be getting worse and going down to the rest of my left leg. I also have these weird scars that look red or bloody from the inside and there is 3 of them and they showed up out of nowhere overnight. My doctor has given me blood tests and MRI's and nothing has shown up abnormal.

I had a no scalpel vasectomy procedure done on 10/10/14. I have pain in my left testicle when I walk or any pressure at all gets placed on left testicle. I do not feel any pain when I am sitting, but when I first get up and walk I feel pain in testicle and also above testicle on left side. I also have ejaculated 7 times and still have blood in my semen. Should I be worried? My right side is perfectly fine with no pain at all.

Don't do it. The operation went as expected. The side effects were not explained at all. First it does change sex. The tingling feeling that occurs when achieving orgasm will never happen again. Not what was stated by the nurses who obviously were fed a lie, how would a female know? The second thing was urinating problems. Don't be in a hurry because gravity is the master now. The day I went home I found out that pushing only made the flow stop. That was only part of the problem since I now could not hold as much as could previously. It will be that way forever. So now how to I get it reversed at the cost of the insurance? I have been to a urologist but cannot get them to admit that those are serious problem. The year I got my vasectomy I was told I have Multiple Sclerosis.

Am planning on making a Dr appointment after the holidays but wanted to check in and get some feedback from others to see if anyone has had any similar situations or remedies.
I had the scalpel vasectomy done 1 yr ago. Initially no major complications. Like most the typical soreness that accompanied it. After a few weeks that seemed to go away and life returned to normal.
However, periodically I would have issues where I would get a dull 'ache' in my testicles that might last a day or two. Nothing severe enough to go to the doctor but painful. This has cropped up multiple times over the past several months. The pain is still with me whether I'm standing or lying down and ibuprofen does little to help.
And twice now - once probably six months ago and again last night I had blood in my semen. Not a lot but noticeable. The blood isn't appearing when I urinate.
I know this is more of a Dr related question but I guess I'm just looking for feedback from anyone that might have ran into similar problems. I never had either prior to a year ago and the surgery so that is the obvious culprit.

This morning I woke up with my right side of face all swollen, red and my eyeball is leaking. The right side of my face, jaw, temporal area and neck have given me problems for months and months before the doctors diagnosed PMR and GCA. They still have not done anything the really confirm GCA and I am worried that I may have had a mini-stroke as I woke up all numb in the right side of my head one morning and slowly the numbness went away and then pain was horrible. I have pain in the right side of my head 24/7 but the SWELLING appearance is new. Should I be going to the hospital?

I had a vasectomy going on 8 days ago. The procedure was said to have gone well. I bruised quite badly and my scrotum and area up into my groin (mainly right side and above penis) swelled remarkably. The swelling has gone done significantly the last two days and my bruising is looking mildly better. My issue at present is my right testicle is sitting much higher than my left testicle. The left looks to be resting normally, and the right feels almost attached to the base of my penis. There is still some mild swelling above my penis on the right side in the groin. The swelling feels hard in the groin and runs down and meets the top of my right testicle.
you can imagine this is uncomfortable, but not outrageously painful. I can see my mobility being hampered if the right teste does not descend lower in a more normal resting position. Is this a normal experience that eventually resolves itself?

I'm 16 and for the last few months I felt a lump on the outer side of my left testicle. Its not like it hurts or swollen like what I hear to look for in article and videos I seen. But the lump concerns me and I feel pain on my caves that feel like its being pulled. The lump might be nothing it could be a bug bite that I'm thinking to hard into.
