Urticarial Rash :: Loratadine - Back With Vengeance

After taking Cetrizine for a week with no results I changed to Loratadine which seemed to work at 4 x 10mgs per day, then I started applying a salty solution followed by sorbolene the Anime which also seemed to work. So well in fact the rash cleared up, the itch also went and so I tapered down to 3 x 10mgs of Loratidine and then to 2 x 10mgs and all was fine for a while - but it's back with a vengeance: Chest and abdomen look like sunburn and I itch like crazy. Under arms, groin, back of upper legs, back of hands and chest and abdomen are all crazy itchy but no redness. Should I up the loratidine to 3 x 10mgs or back where I started 4 x 10mgs?

I've just been diagnosed with Urticaria - oh joy. Initially I had it just on the lower back but it gradually spread and now I get it over my entire back, front, neck, buttocks, back of thighs and knees. The Dermatologist gave me a script for Cetirizine and another for Loratadine. I am first to try the Cetirizine and if that doesn't work the Loratadine, 4 x 10mgs per day.
When I first noticed it I started applying 1% Antroquoril cream. It kept the itch away but the rash spread. I saw my GP who prescribed a 2% solution which does basically the same. Biggest problem is it only lasts a few hours and then the itch returns. I've been on the Cetrizine for 4 days now and aren't seeing any relief.
I've found animen (Calamine) tends to relieve the itch longer but tends to rub off during the night so I use that during the day and the Antroquoril during the night (twice).
Interestingly, I also have had PMR for the last few months and have been on Prednisone, it was after going on Prednisone I came down with Urticaria.
So now I have two maladies with no known cause, no known cure and will probably stick with me for a few years if not for life, ain't life grand. What's next I keep asking myself, all these pills plus being a diabetic I guess I know what's coming - dialysis.

My Urticaria started in August this year and no-one can be bothered to really help until I had gone through 2 lots of steroids and now 'the strong' prescription antihistamine at night but shop bought I have to take 2 in a morning!!! nothing is working !
Is there a cream to help because Calamine doesn't help at all... At this moment I have it on my right arm on the backs of my legs and my back but the worse is my feet on the tops they are itching like mad and I could cry...
2 weeks ago my right arm was swollen from my wrist to the top of my arm and it felt all stiff...

I've had really bad hives since June, their out of control and all over my body and beyond itchy! I've tried switching laundry detergents and other stuff and it hasn't worked at all. It's so bad where I have to cancel my plans because it's all over my face and it's embarrassing. I've become depressed because of these hives I have cried so many times and the itch gets so bad sometimes that I can't even sleep at night. My doctor prescribed me some Apo-hydroxyzine first at 5 mg it worked the first week stopped, then the hives returned so went back and he upped the dosage to 10mg that worked for a week but stopped working and the hives are just really bad I feel like I'm allergic to EVERYTHING!! We don't have a dermatologist on the island unfortunately and I'm so fed up and done with this I've tried to stay positive but I just feel really down and moody.

How has everyone been feeling. I'm 3 weeks gluten free and feeling much better. I've been able to cut way back on my medicine routine too. Last night I ate some candy and I had some hives and swelling today but nothing like a few weeks ago. Fingers crossed.

My granddaughter has had hives for 2 weeks. The doctor gave her Loratadine (Claritin). It works for about 12 hours, morning till evening, then she is covered with hives again. It's difficult for her to sleep.
Plus, Her lip is swollen in the morning with hives on her eyelid and cheeks.
Her prescription states once a day, can she take this med twice a day?

About 2 week's ago I took 2 perc within a night and the next day I got sick, I thought from the pills, but than I was nauseous and have been for the most part ever since. My left side mid to lower back started hurting approx a week ago and it's gotten much worse last night and now I'm having pain in my upper right abdomen as if the pain moved. I'm on muscle relaxers for my back already but it's not affecting/helping my new pain though and the new pain doesn't feel the same. I was just curious if anyone had any idea what it might be, some say kidneys but does that pain or can it move from my back to my abdomen?

A week before cycle is due I've been having white milky discharge back pains, cramps at lower part of my stomach running nose sore boob on left side and a queasy stomach in the morning, now it's 5 days before my period is due and i'm drier than i was 2 to 3 days ago but still it's some creamy discharge.. should i go for a pregnancy test or just wait?

Two days ago I was in the gym exercising my shoulders and whilst I was lifting weights, I moved my back whilst seated and I heard a 'click' sound in my back, followed by pain in that area of my lower middle back. I immediately stopped exercising and haven't gone to the gym since.
I don't know what I was thinking by moving my back like that, but since it happened there is a lot less pain and it feels like the pain may be totally gone in the next 48-72 hours hopefully.
On the night of the injury I found it hard to turn onto my side when in bed, but now I can do it without any problems. Now I can only feel some pain when I turn my upper body to the left or right or if I try to stretch my lower back.
Would anyone be able to give me some advice such as what type of injury I have or whether this may have a long term effect? Is it a very positive sign that the pain is decreasing each day?

on 12th and 14th i had rashes with itching but since i take anti allergic medicines they went away, since 15th april, i am having the tingling feeling on middle back portion and till now i am having the tingling feeling on the same portion and it comes and goes away. I was doing a yoga pose (a torso twist hold which is where you lay on your back bring both legs up in the air then bring them down with your knees/legs tucked and torso twisted on opposite side) when I accidently dropped mid twist too quickly and hurt my lower back, the pain on a scale of 1-10 is about a 2-3, so a dull aching. Its localized and does not radiate down my thighs/legs or up to my neck. There's no shooting/stabbing pains and It also doesn't burn, or tingle (numbness). Could this be just a stretched/sprained back issue or a pinched nerve?. It also isn't tender to the touch at all.

I was about 108 kgs and after joining a gym i have lost about 32 kgs
but suddenly 20 days back i got back pain after my routine exercises and my MRI report says following:
1. L4-L5 disc reveals minimal diffuse bulge abutting the thecal sac without any nerve root compression.
2. B/L mild facet arthropathy is seen at L4/L5 and L3/L4 levels with tiny anterior paradiscal osteophytes at these level.
3. L5 vertebra us sacralised with rudimentary L5-S1 disc.

I was diagnosed with hypo this past november but i started feeling sick in september of 2011 when i was 17, im 19 now and my life has changed drastically due to this! My hair was falling out at a rapid rate, i was gaining weight even though i barely eat and had some really bad mood swings! Went to the doc and prescribed me levothyroxine 50mg it has been 9months since im on this medication, my levels are back to normal but i still feel as though nothing has changed, my hair is falling out i'm almost bald, its really hard to lose weight and according to my mom i have become unbearable! How long does it take to see actual progress with levothyroxine? does your hair grow back at all? will i ever feel better? i just want my life back :'( I had take a year off university because of this and i need to know if anything is gonna change! I'm sorry for the long note i'm just fed up and frustrated, thank you for your time i really appreciate it :D

I am 29 and Female. I have been under a great deal of stress lately. I have been having some minor health problems that cause my mind to go to that dark place. I am having very irregular periods and GERD/Gallbladder issues. Also, I am planning a wedding and my mother was just diagnosed with Lung cancer about 2 weeks ago.
My upper back across the "meaty" part of my shoulders has been so tight and painful. If my fiance rubs them, he finds all kinds of trigger points that are so painful to the touch I can't breathe. In the middle of my upper back I feel a sharp pain sometimes. My neck muscles are tight as well as the tops of my arms down to my elbows. On occasion my fingers tingle.
As of the past 2 days I feel a pressure on my chest right below my collar bone. If I yawn I can feel my throat muscles get sore. The very top of my sternum is tender to the touch. It almost feels bruised.
I did a little bit of research and it seems that all of these problems are connected. The scalene muscle group can cause all of these problems. I am going to see a massage therapist on thursday. Hopefully I get some relief.
Another bit of info, I have a desk job. I am at a computer for 10 hours a day. I work 60 + hours a week. I had a chest CT scan with contrast in July and it came back clear. ( unrelated incident ) So I believe I can rule out anything major. The scan is only 3 months old.
My question is; has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to ease your symptoms? I have tried muscle rub so far. Doesn't help much...I am going to ice the areas today and see if that helps.

I have a pain in between my diaphragm which leads through to my upper back, I have had for approximately 3 months but getting worse, if I lie on my stomach it hurts in both front and back. I have read all sorts of things that it might be from hernia to liver/kidney problem and gallstones... I did have a small incident where I strained myself trying to hold a motorbike up from falling down and I guess I have had the problem from then on, if I stretch out sometimes I will hear a click which radiates from the front to the back, if I push in my diaphragm it hurts. I live in a third world country so and worried about going to doctor.

I have been using nuvaring since last may I believe haven't gotten pregnant but recently started doing back to back nuvarings. I am experiencing some symptoms I would if I were to be pregnant but I'm not sure if it's a side effect or what my chances are getting pregnant back to back packages. I do have nuvaring in place right now.

I've had horrible back pain for over a year now due to a herniated disc at L5/S1 and a bulge at L4/L5. It's gotten better at various times during the interim, but I've never been able to bodybuilder/workout again. I usually do not have sciatica (only severe back pain) but every time I re-aggravate it I do get sciatica that shoots into my right heel. I visited my neurosurgeon and he told me he does not think I would be a candidate for a microdiscectomy because my primary symptom is not sciatica - but I want some second opinions. Did a microdiscectomy help your back pain from the herniation and not just the sciatica?

In March I started taking my birth control again after being off of it for two months. I was going on vacation in April and I didn't want to be on my period. So, I started my next birth control pack during the placebo week of April which started March 30th to avoid getting my period that week. I still ended up getting my period anyway. Well my placebo week for the second pack was the week of April 20th I never got my period and the week of April 27th was technically suppose to be the real week I got my period since my period never skipped with me taking my birth control pack back to back and it still hasn't shown. Is it possible it hasn't shown because of me taking my birth control packs back to back has thrown it off?
As of now I am still taking my birth control like normal. I started my third pack the week of April 27th.
Also, I am not pregnant because even with me still being on birth control I always use condoms. So, no worry about that.

A week ago I was diagnosed w pink eye and given polysporin drops. I used them and my eyes got better...then they got worse again. After a week, I went to the eye doc...(saw a regular doc first), and he said I was allergic to the eye drops and to stop using them. He also said the pink eye was gone and the redness and blurred vision was a result of the allergy.
He also said I had a 'rash' on my right cornea and gave me eyedrops to use. He said it should clear up in a few days. My question is, I don't know what he meant by 'rash'??? I should have asked him, but I was so relieved it wasn't anything serious, I didn't. I'm not sure if he just meant it was irritated, swollen or what.

I had unprotected oral sex when she was menstruating (tampon used) and also received oral sex. I am not sure with how many people she sleeps with. for intercourse condom was used. Condom was tested for no breakage later.
Now after two weeks I have epididymitis inflammation and hence lot of pain on my left testicle. I have given urethral swab for test of chlamydia and also urine for test. I am waiting for results. I am taking ciprofloxacin and it already helped reduce pain on my testicle after two doses.
now i have been having mild fever (37.5 - 38.4) ever since i started having the pain (two weeks after the exposure). also i have 3-4 rashes , dark purple (only one of them is big to the size of a bed bug) between my shoulder and elbow on my left arm. rest of the body seems fine.
irrespective of the probability that I may have caught chlamydia, is there any worry for HIV?

For the past week, I have had pain in my side...about the size of an apple. The skin is extremely sensitive to touch (even getting goosebumps makes me wince), and am getting sharp stabbing type pains. I went to my local emergency department. The nurse who looked me over first asked me many questions, and said that she believed I have shingles, although I don't have a rash. I have had shingles before, and it does feel the same...but when the Dr. came in, he said he has no clue going on, but that it can't be shingles without the rash. He didn't do any bloodwork, nothing. I know for a fact that a person can have shingles without a rash. What is even more confusing is that he prescribed me a muscle relaxer, some Naproxen, and a script to go to physiotherapy. Why would he do this if he doesn't know what it is, and why would he rule out the shingles without any tests?
