Substance Abuse :: Methadone Clinic - Frequent Urination
Feb 17, 2016
I am currently a patient at the methadone clinic. I am at 90 mg of liquid every day. Suddenly yesterday and today about 3 hours after I dose, I begin feeling sick to my stomach and I begin urinating at least 30 times an hour. What is going on? Also, is there ANYTHING I can do to stop the constant urinating? I am drinking water at this point so I don't get dehydrated and also so it cleans out the "poisoning effect."

I would like to try and find out what addicts think will b better for them REHAB OR METHADONE. Me personally says rehab cause i am sick and tired of having to go to chemists day in and day out just to get your methadone everyday.Go to REHAB come of the opiates and then its up to yourself what you do with your life, rather than getting stuck on methadone for years.

My boyfriend of 9 months who is an accident victim was prescribed Methadone and Opana just got out of rehab himself, but around Thanksgiving, I broke my finger and he was giving me his doses of Methadone... It's now June and I'm still on it. Only him and I know I'm on it, I refuse to tell my doctors or anyone because I'm also a Celiac and Fibromyalgia patient and I don't want to ruin my chances for getting help. I am down to taking a quarter of a tablet a day. I never really took that much to begin with. Most I took was 2 tablets a day so I wouldn't say I have it as bad as anyone else at all. I need to ween down by myself. I flushed all of his medications but I kept only three tablets that gives me 12 quarter pills to wean. I took a quarter this morning, what do you all suggest I should do with the other 11? You thing I should go with another quarter tomorrow and then cut the quarters in half by taking one of those slivers in the morning and a sliver at night? And then narrowing it down to just a sliver and then jump off? What are some supplements that have helped you? I'm allergic to anxiety medications so that's been my downfall. I am so ashamed of myself and guilty. This isn't like me at all since everyone in my family has some sort of addiction.

I just lost my brother at the age of 21. Mixing alcohol in combination with this drug will kill you. Save your life before it's too late.

Has anyone been on methadone for over a decade? I've been on this for 12 years and my father asked me,are you going to live like this forever? It hit me so hard cuz I never thought about it.
During those 11 years I went up and down a lot,(highest dose was 80mgs) but managed to get myself down to 13 mgs by new years eve 2011. Then started a silly rapid detox and decreased 13 mgs down to 11 mgs for one week. Then 11 mgs down to 8.5mgs the next. I got so sick. Felt like my heart almost gave up on me giving me random chest pains. So I had to slow down. I went only 1 mg each week til I got to 5.5mgs, & stayed on that for 10 days as I felt the rapid detox was catching up to me. Today is only day one and I'm sending myself into a panic attack! I do have clonidine and Diazepam and some loperamide just in case. Has anybody out there been on methadone for over a decade and made it? Are the withdrawals longer than others who has been on it like 3 or 4 years? Will it be harder on people who've been on it too long? Is it too late?

I'm dealing with a long life of addition I've been on 240mg of methadone for 8 years and probably have been taking Xanax for about 3 years steadily getting to higher dose ages . Is there anything worth trying short of quitting my job and going into a medically detox and probably a long term rehab.

Today I am 12 days clean of methadone and 7 no oxy... Today has been a real struggle I feel horrible. Today has been the worst yet. I'm exhausted my body aches I have hot and cold flashes yet I'm constantly freezing no matter what I do. Terrible headaches that last all day and night. Feeling really close to my breaking point. I hope it doesn't last too much longer I don't think I can last if it does.

This morning was day 4 of no methadone for me. My addiction issues go back several years when I was prescribed percocet for post op knee surgery. Before that I've never put any kind of drug in my system whatsoever. I had access to opiates from family members and needless to say I started taking them. It led to the destruction of my marriage and a bitter custody battle of my precious baby girl. I got clean from everything about a year ago but within the last 6 months I relapsed and have been taking the methadone from my father which kills me because he loves me so much and would do anything in the world four me. Anyway today is day 4...I slept some last night. Haven't gotten the restless legs or anything. Just extreme anxiety that things will get worse and loss of energy and bad headache. I'm just hoping tomorrow will be better. I was only taking maybe 15mg at the most the entire 6 months. The last week I was down to like 5mg. So I hope things won't be too much worse.

From 5-6 days I have been experiencing frequent and excessive urination. The urine is totally clear. And as soon as I finish urinating I feel that I want to urinate more with the feeling that the urine gets collected above the privates. The urine is colourless. And all my urine reports have been clear with specific gravity of 1.010-1.012 and some 4-5 hpf of pus and epithelial cells

I already have a low to medium risk for diabetes. I have PCOS and Hashimoto's disease, am overweight, And my grandmother had diabetes (but is currently in remission). I ask, because I've been looking At a few online sites, and symptoms I've had for years (or even most of my life) seem to be dead giveaways for diabetes. Fatigue, frequent urination (including at night) way more than the recommended 8 times a day, I recently put on weight for no obvious reason, I am constantly hungry (if not starving), even after eating, and recently I've been very thirsty.
I've been tested a few times, and when I was pregnant they checked too, and it's always come back negative. Could I be boarder line? Or do I just have a bunch of symptoms I'll never get rid of?

Since I had CABG 4 (quad by-pass heart surgery) 10 years ago I have (too) frequent urinations. These aren't just a false urges, but the real McCoy. At night I have to get up 4-5 times. When I get up in the morning usually around 6 AM I have to go, afterwards in less than 6-7 minutes the urge is there again. I have measured typical urinations in the daytime to be usually 5-6 ounces. Last week on a long trip that required a full days drive I was within 20 miles of home and on a long bridge tunnel system in heavy 4-lane traffic when the urge hit (big-time.) I had made a rest stop about 40 miles back, but the urge was back. There was no way to stop and it could no longer be held. As I entered the tunnel I managed to shift a newspaper under my bottom in order to maybe not soak the seat. Fortunately, I had a large mouth empty water bottle, which I managed to arrange (I thought.) In the long tunnel and very heavy traffic at 55 mph I gave it a go, which was about 65% successful. My meds are Simvastatin, Metoprolol, Welchol and Tamsulosin (Flomax.)

Since doctors don't seem to want to help me figure out what's wrong, I'm trying to investigate my various symptoms to find potential diseases to rule out.
For the past two and a half years, I've had a problem with frequent urination. No incontinence of any kind, but I tend to pee on average 12-20 times a day. Sometimes I'll be up one or two times at night, sometimes more and sometimes not at all. I DO drink quite a bit of fluid. I tend to average 50-100+ ounces of fluid a day. Usually once a day I'll have a cup of tea, but I don't drink a ton of coffee or any soda at all. I am always thirsty, feel dehydrated all the time, mouth is dry, lips are chapped, light headed and dizzy often, even on the days I'm drinking 100+ ounces of water. I work in an office and don't do anything strenuous that results in sweating. When I do pee, sometimes it's only ten or fifteen minutes before I have to go again. Most of the time, I'm producing a full volume of pee, almost never is it just a few drops or a little bit. My urinalysis and cultures come back normal.
Went to the gynecologist today, he said my bladder is working fine and that when I pee, I am emptying my bladder all the way. His suggestion was to drink less. I'm thinking a 31 year old woman who does not have diabetes or a UTI that's lasted for 2.5 years shouldn't not only have this constant need to pee, but also this constant need to drink and feeling of dehydration. I went to a neuroendocrinologist because I truly believe with my other symptoms, I have some kind of pituitary problem going on (Cushings and/or GHD) but he laughed and blew me off because Hey, it's rare, therefore you don't have it.
Should I ask my PCP about looking into MS? In addition to the frequent urination, I have a great deal of cognitive issues (memory loss / retention problems, concentration problems, shortened attention span, sometimes can't speak properly), depression and anxiety, eye issues (wicked light sensitive, blurry vision, hurts to look up or to the sides), stiff and painful joints and muscles, muscle weakness, occasional tingling in hands or feet, INCREDIBLY fatigued, dizziness and lightheadedness, vertigo, occasional balance issues, and trembling / vibrations in body.

About 3 weeks ago I had a brief encounter of unprotected vaginal sex. it lasted about 15 seconds. The last day or so, I have had the urge to urinate often. Maybe about every 15 minutes. I go a small amount and then its ok, for another 15 minutes or so. I see no other symptoms...Could It be an STD?

I'm 19 and a student. I have urgency to urinate when I am in lecture room. I am okay for 20min after that it feels like I really need to use toilet to urinate. This never stops and and every time I think what can I do to stop this and when I'm in lecture I can't concentrate as the fear of peeing my self occurs which numbs my brain.. I try to distract myself but doesn't work. Plus I urinate before the lecture and I drink less water so I don't but still it does. I hardly drink water or anything when I'm at university. Is there anything I can do to help this stop? I really need some help cuz it feels like prison as I can't think or do anything throughout the day..

i am a 74 year old male and had my THR one week ago. There is no pain, a little discomfort, and I am walking with two sticks. The only problem is having to get up 5 or 6 times in the night to go to the bathroom. I never had this before. I am OK during the day. Could it be because of the catheter I had for 2 days, or medication? Has anyone had anything similar?

I have frequent urination, and my bladder doesn't empty completely, therefore I feel the need to go right after I went, and sometimes I take a very long time trying to get out what I have in the bladder.
I also have constipation, and strain on the toilet. I also was frequently going to the bathroom for different reasons and I'm stressed out.
I understand these two can play a role in my bladder problems. Is this true? If so, what can I do to heal? Bladder training? Pelvic floor muscle exercises?
Will taking a drug that empties my bladder be helpful in the long term?
Thanks.
