Can I chew nicotine gum while taking Bupropion?

View 1 RepliesI want to stop smoking. I used to smoke in high school and then got pregnant and stopped cold turkey without any problems, then 7 years ago I started smoking again (long story) but started smoking again due to some very stressful events in my life. Anyway, my father in law just passed away about a week ago from a heart attack (but he was also fighting lung cancer that spread to his hip and brain). So now I am really thinking about quiting. My question is how/ what is the best way to quit. I have no health insurance right now, so taking prescription meds is out of the question. I also have high blood pressure.
View 1 RepliesI am 14 and i have just started smoking and i am 4 inch penis and some hair and i just wonder does smoking stop puberty happening ?
View 4 RepliesI quit smoking exactly 1 week ago today (though it feels much longer) after smoking for almost 7 years.
For the past month and a half, I have had shortness of breath, which came on suddenly. I went to Urgent Care for it, and the doctor, after listening to me breath/listening to my heart, said "everything sounds good", and she said my shortness of breath is due to the fact that I have severe anxiety/panic disorder and a sinus infection. That was in the beginning of February... A couple weeks ago, my best friend's mom (who has been an ER nurse for over 20 years) listened to me breath, took my pulse/blood pressure, and she, too, said my lungs sounded "perfect", and my other vitals were good as well.
However... here I am, late March, and I still experience shortness of breath (though it has gotten somewhat better).
Like I said, it's only been a week since I quit smoking (which I did BECAUSE I felt it might be why I was having shortness of breath), and the first couple of days? I felt great!
Now, I feel awful. I feel like I am dying. My depression has gotten much worse, my anxiety is acting up, I feel "empty" both mentally and emotionally... I have HA (health anxiety) and I fear I might have cancer, or COPD, or some such thing.
Also, physically I just feel completely drained. I feel weak all the time, exhausted, sluggish, my heartbeat feels weak (to me), etc... I have difficulty thinking clearly, my concentration is horrible...
But mainly what bothers me is how weak I feel... Sometimes I feel so weak that I am SURE I am dying. I lay there and think, "this is it, I am dying". It's absolutely terrifying!
I use a nicotine patch, and it DOES seem to help when I have it on, but it only helps so much...
Is this all normal? Before I quit this past week, I had been quitting on and off for a couple months, but my "quitting" would only last 2-3 days. This is the longest I have quit smoking.
I just feel something must be terribly wrong with me... Could this all be just because I quit smoking? No one ever tells you what to REALLY expect when you quit...
i have found nicotine therapy exceptionally useful since it helped me to quit smoking. many will appreciate that the most difficult part in the smoking cessation program is cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
View 9 RepliesI used to smoke a lot. I won’t exaggerate if I say that I smoked almost 2 packs of cigarettes daily. My friend got me into quitting smoking. At the end I agreed to try with hypnosis. And I must admit that a hypnotist helped me to stop smoking. Are there any similar people here?
View 1 RepliesI'm on 100mg of Bupropion a day...can I take .25 of Valium. Had a bad dizzy day but wanted to make sure that there are no interactions with that?
View 3 RepliesI was wondering if it is normal to not be able to close your teeth after having molar bonds attached to your molars. It seems that barely any of my teeth touch and the molar bond on the top is biting on the tooth at the bottom. Will my teeth adjust to this?
View 1 RepliesRecently, I have been having really bad reactions to nicotine and caffeine. After consuming either of them, I find myself in a confused and agitated state. I feel focused, but it feels as if my thoughts are blocked and I can't think properly. I find it hard to understand basic life situations. I even find it hard to speak and understand language. I also seem to lose my short term memory and all of my actions feel meaningless. I never used to have a reaction like this in the past. In-fact, I used to benefit from nicotine and caffeine greatly. They helped me manage my symptoms of ADHD. Also, I quit consuming either of them for at least 2 months, and once using them again, I still experienced this effect. Why is this happening to me?
View 1 RepliesHas anyone suffered a dry throat then a sore throat with ear pain its been 3 weeks now .
View 3 RepliesIn 2010 I was rushed in hospital with Projectile vomiting and my GP put me on Omeprazole which I have been taking ever since. Should I ask my doctor if I can be taken off them now as I've been alright since then.
View 1 RepliesI've just been prescribed trimethoprim for UTI and after reading all the posted I'm so afraid of taking them. I had a reaction to norethisterone just over a year ago and it was not very nice at all and I don't want to feel that ever again. But if I don't take these tablets then I'm worried I'll still have the UTI. Is it worth asking my doctor for an alternative?
View 5 Repliesi'd tried to clear the UTI holistically by drinking gallons of water, cranberry juice, camomile tea and lemon barley squash, thought it was working but after a couple of days felt generally weak and feeble and my urine still tested positive for leucocytes and a trace of protein, so i caved in and decided to take the Trimethoprim. i'm always worried about taking antibiotics because of their weird side effects so i'm hoping these don't have too many, so far i've felt very tired despite having had several naps, i almost fell asleep on the loo. having eaten my evening meal i feel quite sick, not the kind of projectile vomiting i've had before with allergies but a sick feeling deep in my gut, i was ok after a light lunch so maybe eating little and often when taking these pills is best. i'm hoping these are the worst side effects i will get cos i can cope with them by sleeping all day for the next 2 days, it will be worth it to clear the UTI.
View 1 RepliesI'm so fed up! I don't see how my life can go from so good, to this complete isolation within a couple of weeks. I'm constantly anxious about my future, and what lies ahead for me. I feel so insecure, and feel like i'm living my life day by day, to survive. Citalopram is just making me tired at strange times of the day, i have NO motivation to do anything at all. I tried to see friends yesterday, but didn't enjoy it at all, i just wanted to be at home, this is not me? I feel like i've got someone else's personality.
Work is so hard, to just be in. I feel like there's no one there for me other than my Mum.
I seriously don't know how i'm going to get through this now. I'm so scared.
I'm seeing my counsellor later today, its the only thing thats keeping me going today.
Is anyone else taking prednisolone for ITP? I've been on 60mg for a month now and my doctor wants to start reducing my dosage, even though my platelts are still at 87k. Has anyone had a similar experience?
View 2 RepliesI have been on Mirt for about 5 weeks now.
I started on 30mg but the side effects are horrendous for me - it started with just a few aches, that gradually got worse by the day until every muscle in my body hurt (even my fingers and toes) and had put on almost a stone in weight. After 3wks on 30mg I had a follow up appointment with the Doctor, after mentioning all the problems I was having, he decreased my dose to 15mg and said a reduced dose would help with the side effects - it did for a few days, but the past week all of the above side effects have returned and are again getting worse each day.
I am going to stop taking them. Yes - I do feel I need something for my low moods - but my Doctor was reluctant to change the medication and the side effects are making me feel terrible physically.
So without the lectures of 'go back to your dr' etc etc, I am after some advice on how to stop taking this medication? Do I just stop? Do I lower my dose again, or take the dose every other day and over how long a time period?
Anyone else experienced bruises when taking this. Week 3 and most side effects calming but I have these awful almost rash looking bruises on my legs.
View 3 RepliesNow my husband has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and is taking steroids. The pain in his legs is eased but he sweats all night. I have sent for
Dripose which is for fatigue. He is still taking bp pills but not statins. He is diabetic.
Does anyone else drink alcohol while taking Citalopram??
I was off alcohol for about 8 weeks when I started citalopram but I have started to have sociable drinks again but I have noticed o have a hangover even with 2 drinks and I feel very very anxious the next day
Has this ever happened to anyone else?
I have been recently told that the law has changed regarding Gabapentin and that I should not drive whilst taking it as insurance companies are nullifying policies for those involved in an accident whilst being prescribed Gabapentin.
I'm told Gabapentin has recently been reclassified along with others similar drugs that may cause drowsiness or affect eyesight, Tramadol, and Amitriptyline to name but two.
Can anyone confirm these changes as driving my motorhome around the UK and Europe is the only pleasure I have left.
Is anyone taking gabapentin and citalopram together cpn is stopping my diazepam 2 mg to put me on gabapentin as she thinks I should still stick to my 30mg of citalopram even tho I'm getting terrible anxiety.
