I am a male who received unprotected oral sex from unknown CSW status 24 weeks ago. I already did HIV test and it is negative, so basically I am asking about other STDs, should I test for any. View 6 Repliesfor about/8 months I have been suffering from diarrhea and I have found on many occasions what appears to be worms. I went to Morocco in sept 14 but this started a couple of months before. Sometimes I have to go poo immediately after I've eaten. I have done a parasite test with my GP by sending a sample of my poo off with what I thought was worms in, but the test came back negative.
Would a syphilis test, both non treponemal test or treponemal tests, be affected by taking 2 days of doxycycline prior to the test?
By 2 days of doxy I mean 500mg to be exact.
Three weeks ago I went to the emergency room after noticing some red spots on my penis while I was showering. I was very concerned since this was the first time I had seen these spots. After the ER doctor and the physician assistant looked at me, they diagnosed me with genital herpes. I was devastated and thought my life was ruined. They prescribed me acyclovir 5 times a day for 10 days, took the viral culture samples of my spots on my penis and sent them out to be tested. They told me that if the results came back positive for herpes they would call me and it would take approximately 7 to 10 days for the results. I was positive that they would call me, since the doctor and his physician were sure from their experience that it was genital herpes.
Two weeks later and I do not get a call from them. I am surprised. I decided to call them to see what was going on since for the past three weeks I was sure I had herpes. I called the lab to get an update and I was informed that the viral culture test for genital herpes and gonorrhea came back negative. I was both relieved yet surprised. I am excited my results came back negative, but if it is not genital herpes, then what do/did I have?
Here are some more facts regarding my situation:
- Whenever I had sex with my partner (I am a straight male, have only had sex with women), the spots appeared approximately 5 days later. This has been the first time I have been tested for std's. In addition to the viral culture test, they also performed a urine tests to tests for other std's and it came back negative.
- The acyclovir helped the red spots in my penis and it is back to normal now except for a small dot.
- The physician assistant told me that even though the tests came back negative, that I should follow up with my doctor, which I plan to do.
- Whenever I noticed these red spots on my penis, they did not hurt when urinating or hurt in any other way. I did not have a painful rash or pain like I have read in other websites. I felt completely normal and I do not have any other physical symptoms.
The question that I now have is, if it is not genital herpes, then what is it? Have any of you been misdiagnosed with genital herpes only to learn it was something else? While I am happy that my test came back negative, I am wondering what it could be.
My mother, who I told about this and trust about this, says it could just be an allergic reaction. Sometimes outbreaks appear on my skin, especially in the stomach and back whenever I shower with hot water. These outbreaks on my body have been happening for years, even before I lost my virginity 5 years ago.
I recently got tested for all stds and stis, this includes swabs, blood work and pelvic exams. Things came back negative but I read online that tests can be false negative. Do I have any reason to keep worrying? I've called the doctors back and they said their tests are accurate and said I shouldn't worry. But I can't get over this. I have been with the same man for four years, and recently stopped taking my anti depressants and anxiety medicine. Do you think this that's why I keep worrying? I can't get in to see a therapist. And can't get this out of my mind.

Exposure was 10 yrs ago. Could I be in late stage aids and not know it and possibly not producing enough antibodies? Please help I just keep thinking what if they were false and I'm dying. It says 1 in 12 could get a false negative a 8% false negative rate. I think about it everyday and I'm scared to go to a doctor. I read online articles everyday too. Its becoming an extreme fear. View 1 RepliesBasically I am 25 years old and as i've grown up I've noticed more and more that I was getting stomach cramps and bloating more and more often. It is very sporadic and I couldn't really say exactly what was causing it but I just thought it was normal. This was until the last 12 months when I started to think a bit more about it. I do a lot of exercise and play a lot of football. I was finding that I would get some form of cramp during a football game. Usually quite mild but sometimes worse. I also like to run and when training for a half marathon found that after a certain distance I would get pains. Almost every time after about 30-40 minutes running. It would normally be worse when running in the evenings. I started thinking about it and tried taking several things out of my diet. I am 95% certain I have a lactose intolerance as since cutting that out around 6 months ago I have seen an improvement. But I would still get pains.
This all resulted in me going Gluten Free and I finally experienced what it feels like to have a normal stomach. I was relaxed and could do whatever I wanted without any fear. So I decided for my own health I should get tested for celiacs disease and after 7 weeks of eating gluten again had the blood tests. Today I had the results and they have come back negative. I feel so deflated and just angry. What do I do now? I just feel like going back to Gluten Free and living like that self diagnosed. The weird thing I find with my disorder is it seems to be worse when i'm up and about. If me and my fiancee have gone out around town and have lunch it is often worse when walking around afterwards. I don't always get blinding pains either. It is often just severe constipation or stomach cramps just making me feel uncomfortable.
Really disheartening now and just want to know but can't carry on for much longer and really don't want to keep eating Gluten when I know I feel good when I don't. Any advise?

Hello! I was recently back in February diagnosed with hpv. I had full blood work done and I have no other diseases or infections. I've also not had sex since before the testing. I recently noticed I have two painful blisters, one on the inside of my labia and the other on the other lip. I shave and I've had ingrown hairs but these definitely don't feel the same. They are super uncomfortable. I'm unable to go to the doctor until The end of the week and wanted to see if anyone knew what they might be? And any temporary ideas for pain relief? Over the counters pain killers do nothing. Also, I have extremely bad allergies to pollen and with the pollen, came these blisters, so I am not sure if they are related. I've added pictures below. View 4 RepliesMy wife has been having an issue since Thanksgiving where she vomits about 1.5-2 hours after eating. It started happening once per week, then around Christmas it started happening twice a week and then two weeks ago it started happening after every meal, regardless of what she ate. She would vomit after something as simple as an english muffin. Our doctor ordered an ultrasound and everything came back normal (gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, liver). After that test, her doctor placed her on Zofran and that has controlled the vomiting as long as she takes it. If she stops taking it, she throws up after eating. Today she had an endoscopy and that came back normal as well. No hiatal hernia, no ulcers, no tumors and no pre-cancerous polyps. Slight signs of gastritis, but not sure that can cause these symptoms. They did take some samples to send out for biopsy to test for signs of infection or bacteria, but we won't hear back for 5 days. They also did a blood test and she is not pregnant and all of her bloodwork came back normal. She cannot go on like this. Other than the vomiting, she feels fine. She feels normal about 5 minutes after vomiting as well. Does anyone have any ideas?

I had unprotected sex with a female of unknown status. (i'm male) it was a one time occurrence. I went in and had an RNA test at 10 days which came back negative and a antibody test at 26 days which came back negative. How confident can I be in those results? It seems that 3 months is the mark but there is some updated news that findings can be given with high confidence earlier than that.

- 25/11/2015 exposure protected vaginal in a massage parlor in Bangkok (condom might have slipped as It was awkward and I was not fully hard .. 1st n last time cheating on my wife).
- day 7 headache for a week.
- day 19 night sweat one night.
- day 75 until today noticed elongated uvula, slight discomfort swallowing, white coating at the base of th tongue, loss of appetite that probably caused the loss of weight (5kg)
- day 105 until today dry mouth, slight burning sensation at the tip of tongue.

Day 19 PCR RNA in Dubai negative.
Day 19 Duo test in Dubai negative.
Day 44 Duo test in Dubai negative.
Day 77 Rapid test negative.
Day 83 Duo test in Dubai negative.
Day 107 Rapid test (determine allele) in a clinic in Singapore negative.
I was almost relieved but due to the ongoing tingling sensation on the tip of the tongue, whitish coating at the base of the tongue, ongoing discomfort in the throat, and Loss of appetite I got anxious again and went googling again and I got really scared with one of the stories on ************ where the poster who was also exposed in Thailand turned positive after 4 months of testing negative with symptoms similar to mine.
My question is there any new information regarding the window period for the CRF-01ae and what test should I be doing to know for sure?
Seen a pain doctor who suggested I get mr thyroid checked although it has always been normal but he said I should get my parathyroid tested my gp has only ever done 2 test in his 25 years of being a doc.
