I was diagnosed with gonorrhea by a urine test. The doctor gave an injection/shot and some antibiotics. I am afraid that I also have this bacteria is also in my throat. I want to know if the shot and the antibiotics will kill the bacteria in all my body or if need more antibiotics or another kind?

My doctor told me that I shouldn't have unprotected sex for 7 days, however I was going to see my boyfriend in 8 days and I planned on having sex with him. Would it be safe to have sex with him without giving him gonorrhea if we used a condom? I figured it would be okay since it's past 7 days, but I just want to make sure.

I received treatment and symptoms subsided from the urinary tract. However, I'm suspecting a persistent rectal problem. There is discomfort with bowel movements, and faeces are greenish brown and not solid (abit leafy almost). I live in an extremely homophobic country, so theres no way I can get checked for a possible anal STD without the risk or persecution. Please advise. Should I repeat the treatment for a 3rd time? Is the bacteria becoming resistant?

Later, my symptom of gonorrhea has gone. However, symptoms of prostatitis developed and lasted till now (its almost
3 years). I have taken so many antibiotics for a year. But finally they seemed useless to my pain of prostatitis (so i quit it). Now the symptoms are mild. But it really bothers me. I have thought to suicide, because I think i am still contagious of STD. I am afraid gonorrhea is hiding in my prostate, causing prostatitis.
I have done so many tests (PCR of semen, prostatic fluid). They came back neg. However, I wonder if these tests are false neg (because the false neg reports made me left untreated my problem of gonorrhea. I am afraid i would pass STD to my gf...I am afraid i could not father a child..these problems annoy me so much..Sometimes i would think its better to die rather than suffer..can someone professional or experienced help me?
I met my boyfriend this summer, and after a while we decided to have anal sex. We went unprotected and after some days I had a clear discharge. It went like that about two weeks before I got tested. I did a full test for STDs and gonorrhea came back positive, my partner had it all negative.
Our doctor prescribed only for me an injection of ceftriaxone 250mg and 10 days of longamicine. My partner didn't take anything.
After some weeks we had sex again and I got reinfected, I had burning coming back again, a yeast infection, and dicharges, and a very painful testicule and very itchy at the same time. My doctor gave me the same treatment as before and my boyfriend took it too.
After two weeks, I had clear discharge coming back again and we didn't have sex at all since the last incident. No itching, no pain, just a clear discharge which sometime is white. My doctor gave me this time Cipro 500 mg for 5 days to clear everything, but it didn't stop at all.
I want to go for a test again but would the results be accurate after 2 weeks of the last treatment (with Cipro) or should I wait longer ?
I am really concerned about those last discharges as it might cause big damages.

A doctor prescribed me 250mg Ciprofloxacin 3x a day.. I am on day 3, but it seems to be getting worse..
- Even though the clap is indicated for this, many sites also say that due to resistant strains, this stuff is pretty useless..
And the big question - is it possible to have a strain, which is simply not treatable, for the rest of my life? (or is just just a matter of bombarding my body with more and stronger medications until it goes away?

I am asian male, 28years old. Today is March 13th.
About a month ago(early Feb), I started to have a lump feeling/sensation in my throat and a couple of days later , on one day, it became so severe that I had difficulty swallowing, even saliva. However, a couple days later it became better and almost unnoticeable. I thought it was due to anxiety, cause i searched "lump sensation in throat" and I got "Globus Sensation".
However, about 10 days ago. The same lump in throat feeling came back. This time it was milder, no pain, not itchy, but just feeling something stuck in my throat and its moves from day to day. One day it could slightly to the left, next day could be slightly on the right. I took pictures and saw one or two 3-5mm diameter lump/pus grow on the back of my throat. I immediately went to my primary doctor, who did not take it seriously and said it might be allergy and only saw some redness in my throat and it would clear up on its own. After It persisted for over a week, I went to ENT who did a throat culture. Today I got a call from ENT doctor saying that I have strep throat.(not sure which type). And I started taking Amox just now.
I am worried about it has anything to do with STD because I had a stupid exposure with a SW about 2 months ago(Jan. 7th, unprotected oral and protected vaginal, but I didn't give her oral, I only received for 1min or 2, but my lips did touch her lips slightly twice, but definitely no saliva exchange.) I did
1. urine tests for chlamydia and gono 7 days after the event. (both negative)
2. syphilis rpr tests, one at 4th week, another one at 8th week after the event.(both not reactive)
3. HIV pcr RNA test at 25 days after the event (not detected)
4. did not have any skin condition, such as rash, ulcer, sore, blisters, or canker in the genital area, and checked and confirmed by a dermatologist recently.
So, my questions
1. The only symptom I have is "lump feeling/sensation in throat, not painful but annoying" and recently some dry cough at night and dry throat. Other than that, no pain, no fever, no headache. I wonder besides strep throat, could there be anything else, too? mono, oropharyngeal cancer by HPV? I guess because I did not give her oral, it shouldn't be oral gono, right? I remember having cold sore when I was a child (6years old). Could the lump in the back of throat be any kind of herpes? possibly herpes type1.
2. If the first outbreak 1month ago was also strep throat and I just started the treatment. Could I possibly get post strep disorders or complications, such as rheumatic fever, kidney inflammation etc. by now or later in the future. Do I need to get checked out.
3. Why symptoms of Strep is much milder than described on the internet? due to the fact I am adult?
Do vaginal suppositories along with antibiotics treat gonorrhea? i feel the symptoms of gonorrhea and also my ex bf informed me he is positive with gonorrhea. i ask my friend and tell me to take vaginal suppositories and amoxicillin, i feel better but i'm worried i still have gonorrhea. please help..

View 1 RepliesI visited a hospital on 5/15/14 with symptoms of a swollen and severe sore throat (a lot of pain when swallowing) and a 100 f temperature; my throat also had white patches on it. When the doctor saw my throat he said it looks like you have strep. Then he did the 5-10 minute strep swab test but it came back negative. Nevertheless, he still thought I most likely had it and that I should start treatment. We also tested for mono on that day and since then they haven't called back for that (if they don't call back assume negative they say).
He prescribed Amoxicillin 500 MG X2 daily for ten days. So far I have taken 2,000 MG (over the course of 2 days) and my throat still seems the same in regard to pain. The only thing that consistently seems to help my pain is Ibuprofen.
Should I worry? Should I go back to the hospital to see what's going on?

About two weeks after this exposure, I was prescribed with a short course of doxycycline due to a facial skin infection, I have also learnt that this can treat some STD’s (unaware at the time of prescription). It’s been 8 weeks since I finished my doxycycline course and I have had sex with my girlfriend on multiple occasions during this period. Do to guilt and worry, I decided to get tested yesterday (thankfully all negative).
1.This may be a very naïve question but I assume that if I am negative my girlfriend is also negative?
2.Is there any way I could have infected my girlfriend before taking the doxycycline and then tested negative or would I have re-infected myself over the last 8 weeks?
I can't get officially tested for 4 more days, and it's clouding my vacation. I'm terrified that I have herpes. I know it's not prudent to ask the internet to try and diagnose me, but hopefully people on this forum are knowledgeable enough to give some advice. I either have a yeast infection or herpes.
Background: On Monday I completed about 10 days of antibiotics (yeast infection?). I also had sex with my new boyfriend for the first time two weeks ago, and again a few days ago (herpes?). We used condoms both times, but I know now that herpes can still spread. I didn't notice any symptoms on him. I should have asked before we had sex if he's been tested for anything, I asked him a couple of days ago and he assured me he's never noticed he had anything & the army tested him for major STDs (not sure if this includes herpes).
Symptoms: On Monday I was feeling nauseous all day and threw up. On Tuesday I had a 100 degree fever and body aches. I know that first HSV infections can lead to flu-like symptoms , but I also had just been in 3 international airports a few days previously and was jet lagged/sleep deprived so my immune system could've been iffy. Tuesday afternoon I notice slight itching around my vaginal opening. Wednesday morning I wake up and my vagina is caked with thick white discharge and the slight itching around my opening stayed the same. Some thick discharge continues. Today (Thursday) the itching isn't too bad. I woke up and checked myself in the mirror and notice a few slight, uncolored bumps around my vaginal opening. I didn't notice them when I checked Tues/Wed but it could have been due to insufficient lighting. I also shaved down there a week ago so they could be razor irritation? But I bet I'm kidding myself and they're herpes blisters. ****.
Does it sound more like herpes or a yeast infection? Should I buy an OTC yeast infection medication today?
July 22, 2014: unprotected vaginal (30 seconds) and oral sex (two minutes) with a girl I met over the internet. My penis immediately felt discomfort after the encounter.
July 27, 2014: Discomfort turns into pain in urethra and was pooping blood. Go to an urgent care and get tested for gono and chlamydia. Prescribed Zithromax (1 a day for 5 days) and Doxycycline (2 a day for 10 days). Also prescribed Docusate (1 a day for 30 days) for blood in stool.
July 30, 2014: Urine test comes back negative. Relieved, but still feel constant pain in urethra. No relief from pills, doctor says to stop taking them.
July 31, 2014: Urgent Care again. Urine test for Gono and chlamydia. Prescribed Levaquin (1 a day for two weeks). That night I was really stressed, not sure if it was from Levaquin or from thinking I had HIV. In either case I only took 1 pill and stopped after.
August 4, 2014: Urine test is negative. Go to family doc and tested for gono and chlamydia (Urine), HepC (blood), syphilis (rpr), and HIV (Antibody).
August 5, 2014: Negative for everything. Still feel constant burning in urethra.
August 6, 2014: Go to Urologist. Urine test for Gono and chlamydia. Schedule B27 Antigen Blood Test, U. Urealyticum Urine test and Kidney Ureter Bladder Xray. Prescribed Pyridium which doesn't help much.
September 3, 2014: Go to Urologist. All tests are normal. Scheduled Cystoscopy.
October 1, 2014: Go to Urologist and have Cystoscopy. Normal besides a urachal remnant, which he says is not causing the problem. Schedule cat scan.
I am patiently waiting for the cat scan and hoping that something turns up. I need this to go away and get my life back on track. Symptoms I experience to this day (78 days since exposure) are constant 24/7 urethra pain, burning when I urinate, painful when I ejaculate, yellowish diarrhea and cracks and redness on the head of my penis. The foreskin looks somewhat red and irritated as well. Questions I have at this point:
1) Are there instances like this where a person had to deal with this the rest of their life?
2) I have read about the possibility of a yeast infection occurring in circumcised males. Could this be the most likely culprit if my penishead and foreskin are red?
3) I think when I took the first pill, I did feel relief. I really wish I would've finished it out. Should I try again to take the Levaquin?
4) Since it has been 78 days straight that I have dealt with this, could it be too late to treat and I will have to deal with burning urethra the rest of my life?
5) Could this be E. Coli since I am experiencing both bladder and bowel trouble?
6) I highly doubt that this is stress induced. The whole month of September I was not stressed about this at all and still had symptoms. Could this still be a possibility?
So spent night in hospital for chest infection on Tuesday night. Been on 50mg steroids and 500 mg Co amoxiclav three times a day.
Pulled my back muscles coughing yesterday so taking diazepam as doctor prescribed for it as asthmatic so can't take ibuprofen.
However today when woke up my lower right lung area is swollen and have acute sharp stabbing pain when cough and constant pain which is dull. Anyone any idea what it is? I'm wondering if diaphragm or maybe need to see doctor for 3rd day this week.
Just curious, sore throat after oral sex in couple hours is a sign of STD? I didn't have it before doing oral sex and I didn't swallow any semen, I spit it out and my saliva while performing.
