Random Spells Of Sudden Headache With Dizziness And Nausea?
Feb 21, 2015
Little background info, I'm 18 and female and I never usually get headaches, but yesterday morning I woke up with a slight one, the type you usually get when you oversleep. Throughout the day it got a lot worse, to the point where my eyes were watering due to the pain, I could barely stand and barely move and of course had no paracetamol in the house so I had to endure the horrendous pain before my mum was able to get some when she got back from work. It's now day two and the headache is just as bad, the nausea and dizziness comes and goes in random spells but the headache is persistent. Pain relief dulls but doesn't get rid of the pain.
I haven't had any injury or knock to the head, no ear infection (to cause the dizziness) and the only things that really changed is my sleeping pattern (I usually sleep for around 5/6 hours a day due to insomnia but yesterday I got a full 10 hours sleep only waking up around 3 times during the night which is normal for me).

This usually happens randomly, when I'm sitting down or standing/walking. I get this dull pain in my head and my vision will go black for about 5 to 10 seconds. Along with that I feel dizzy. One time it lasted for about 20 seconds and I couldn't walk until I got my vision back. Not only that but sometimes I'll feel the same dull pain on either side of my head, near my temples, but my vision does not go black.

I'm a 42 yr old male, while driving 3 weeks ago I suddenly got a feeling I was going to pass out and instantly pulled onto the hard shoulder and let a colleague drive. Since then all was fine until 3 days ago when 3 hours into a drive the same thing happened, I pulled over again and the colleague finished the drive. I was fine the rest of the day and drove back to the hotel later. The following day the same thing happened again on the way back around the same time into the drive. Since then I've been dizzy constantly, when I say dizzy it's more the feeling I'm going to faint and now there is an accompanying headache. I'm very very concerned as a big part of my job is driving and I don't feel confident getting in a car at the moment.

I am mildly overweight, have low end of normal blood pressure. I exercise approximately 5 days a week and walk about 1.5-3 miles a day during work hours --otherwise I have a desk job. I eat primarily whole grains and foods, whole goats milk, and only drink 1-2 times a week and typically not heavily.
I've had a constant headache since September 20, 2015. It started in the middle of the night and increased in severity throughout that month. The pain is at the front of my head varies from a 2-9 typically getting worse throughout the day and into the evening. Other symptoms include dizziness and nausea, lightheadedness-- sometimes extreme and debilitating.
After 1 month, I went to the doctor who had a MRI done, several blood tests, a nerve block, a hospital DHE treatment, every painkiller and triptan/migraine drug in the book. I went on a course of Phenergan and diclofenac, and also had IV antibiotic in the hospital. I started taking magnesium supplements. I assessed the stressful elements of my life (at home and at work), began meditating, and lowered my overall stress. I did yoga and stretched did neck exercises which both reduced some of the pain. Nothing worked, and they recommended Topamax, but as nothing made a dent before, I decided to question their diagnosis of intractable migraine.
Since then, I had my Nexplanon implant removed (received it July 11th, 2015, removed it November 22, 2015). And started acupuncture. The acupuncture achieved some considerable relief, but after a month of treatment twice a week, I went on a business trip and took charcoal several times during the trip to work with a hangover (I don't drink much). During the end of the trip and the 5 days following it, I didn't have a headache. At the time, I concluded that the acupuncture had worked.
After the headache returned, I started to go through possibilities and took myself off of gluten. After a week, no change in headache. Then I started taking charcoal again after a eureka moment and then went 2 weeks without a headache. Yesterday I forgot to take my charcoal for 28 hours and my headache returned. I'm back on the stuff, and now feel like I'm narrowing in on finding the culprit!

I have had 2 incidents (one early last week and one today) where I have felt completely fine, was on an empty stomach (before my breakfast) and suddenly got nauseous and threw up a couple times - followed by diarrhea. No pain is associated.
Within an hour or so afterwards I felt suddenly fine. Note: I am primarily vegan - have ruled out any food poisoning issues and have not gotten stomach flu 2x. (No fever or anything else)

Over the last few months I've been randomly getting nauseated. It usually lasts a day or two and only has actually caused me to vomit a few times. However recently it has become more severe, and more common and even more recently has become paired with an uncomfortable dizziness and weakness in my legs. My mother believed it was morning sickness so I took a pregnancy test which proved negative and haven't missed any periods in the 3 months since I was last sexually active so I'm fairly certain I am not pregnant.

My mother has random spells of extreme uncontrolled diarrhea and sometimes vomiting. This started a few years ago after finding out she was diabetic. Originally thought it was a medicine she was taking but she doesn't take that anymore and still the random spells of extreme uncontrollable diarrhea continues. She can go a month or so between spells but when it happens it happens and there is nothing that can be done until it's done. There HAS to be a reason. Usually her belly rumbles before a spell or she gets a case of nasty stinking burps. I hope I've provided enough details to allow of an answer. I'm aware the answer may or may not be accurate. I'm ready for any and all possibilities. The doctor she's seen before said "oh it just happens". Thanks for your time.

I don't know exactly where to start or how to describe my issue, but I know something isn't right. 2 days ago I woke up as I normally do from a good night's sleep and immediately knew something wasn't right. I was feeling faint and dizzy, but it wasn't a constant feeling that wouldn't go away. I would have these episodes about every 5 or 6 seconds apart from one another. 2 days later (today) it hasn't gone away and it's actually getting worse. It feels like I'm getting hit with a hammer and that's when everything starts to go faint and an instant dose of dizziness smacks me in the head. I honestly feel like I'm going to just kill over and pass out, but I don't. after a few seconds it stops, but then after I take a few more steps it does it all over again. This happens whether I'm standing up, walking, sitting down or even laying down. It just won't stop. Prior to this, there was a week where I got about 5 or 6 major migraines in one week. Not sure if this is related or not? I have no ins.

For three days my husband has been feeling giddy, he has to hold onto something when he walks otherwise he looks likes he's had a few. He's been sick once with it. He's been to GP who examined him and told him his BP was a bit high but when we got home his BzP was within normal range again. I think it was raised because we waited an hour in the surgery. Because he is a type 2 diabetic, the GP said it was connected to that and his raised BP. I know it's not his BP because it's always normal. His ears have been throbbing too but GP said no sign of infection. It seems he has to ride it whatever it is. Has anyone any idea what could be the cause please?

Lately and at random times I have been experimenting light headedness and dizziness. When I walk during these symptoms I often lean to one side as I feel "unbalanced" then I get a headache and feel nauseous. What could this mean?

Last year during a 3 month period I had a few specific dizzy spells one where I had to lean on a wall for support. All lasted less than a minute. I also experienced mild hangover feeling in the morning usually clearing by lunchtime. Then it all went away until July this year when after getting up I frequently have mild travel sickness feeling which mostly clears by midday. No specific dizzy spells yet only feint background dizzy with the other symptoms. I went for a hearing test but ears blocked so went through a clearing period and another test which concluded hearing is GOOD. Then Tinnitus started and now it is constant 8Khz both ears but morning problems still carry on as normal. Dr. gave me series of medicines presumably suspected inner ear infection but did not work.

After a few months of feeling dizzy and wobbly, (I'm thinking mine started after this horrid virus going around) I read that ginger tea is very good, I started drinking it about 1 week ago and can honestly say the symptoms have improved.. I also use peppermint and lavender oil behind the ears.. Just thought I would share this, as so many people suffering at the moment.. Definitely helping and feel much better now.. It's worth a go

For 3 days now, I have been experiencing spells where I feel like the floor suddenly drops, like I'm on a lift. They only last for a second but make me feel very unbalanced and confused. Nothing triggers them, they can happen when I am doing the most simple activity. The only cause I have found on the internet is anxiety, but I have not had any other symptoms and do not feel anxious at all or have a reason to be. Does anyone know why I could be feeling like this?

I'm on the pill, and my boyfriend and I don't use condoms although he does pull out. We had sex last month while I was finishing up my period (we are long distance so we haven't had sex since).
Maybe a week or two after we had sex, I've been having strange dizzy/nausea spells. They don't seem to be induced by stress or anything in particular. I threw up twice the other day, but this might have to do with a cold that I just got.
Also, I've been having trouble sleeping at night. I've been sleeping long hours during the day as a result, but way more than I ever usually sleep.
No sore boobs though. Occasional headaches.
My period is due in 5 days, and I took a test today that turned out negative. I know it was early to take it, so it might not be accurate. Do these sound like typical pregnancy signs?

I've been suffering from brief and extremely intense dizzy spells for about the last six months now, which are becoming more and more frequent. During a dizzy spell, my ears feel very full, my eyes stop focusing/text becomes very blurry, and I can't move without losing balance. Triggering factors include:Eating (usually a severe spell after every meal) Drinking cold water Listening to the radio/watching TV (my job requires that I do this all day) turning my head or changing position quickly music or concerts (I am also a professional musician and spend 10-12 hours per week practising or playing gigs) Fluorescent lights Alcohol (I can't drink more than half a pint of beer in an hour, or I get particularly extreme waves of dizziness)

I turned 50 several months ago and I do believe i'm in perimenopause for at least the past year. The gyn I went to thought so just from talking/exam. I don't have medical insurance so i cannot even afford a doctor now to help me figure it all out...but after reading on the net i don't think it would be of any help anyway.
I think the only symptom i don't have is hot flashes or night sweats. About four months ago my periods started getting strange....from being every 28 days exactly to about being late by 2.5 weeks. I have mood swings, crying spells, dizziness, forgetfulness, very bad insomnia, very bad palpitations (especially before period) etc etc.
The dizziness and that brain fog get to me a lot. I was standing at an event the other night completely fine and then all of a sudden i got dizzy and foggy for about 2 minutes...and then...i was fine. It was very weird but got me nervous.
Now for the past few months I have been getting twitches in my eye. I assume I am dying and easily shrug off the fact that I work on a computer doing medical transcription about 12 hours a day and have really bad allergies and very very dry eyes....in reality this could be contributing to the twitches. But i think I am now a hypochondriac. Today i am getting these odd little twitches in my side. I realize I just polished off 3 16 ounce cups of coffee, and anyone in their right mind would say you should consider that into the fact...but now I'm really getting nervous.
And as you all know, google our symptoms and we have some deadly disease. But after reading around i think this to may just be another perimenopause symptom with the fluctuating hormones. Its driving me nuts tho. I can lift weights and air conditioners etc lol without any problem so im not weak. But do you ladies get these weird twitches and things as well?
And the tiredness.....but it seems to only happen during the day. When I end work at 12 midnight i get a second wind and can stay up for hours. I know, that's not helping my daytime fatigue. And here i go with the brain fog again...it gets all cloudy. This is ridiculous. Will i ever be normal again?

For the last month I've been getting occasional lightheaded spells - I think that's the best way to describe it, not feeling like I'm going to faint but just my eyes feeling odd and feeling sort of weak. I've also noticed more recently a strange tingling sensation down my arms and feet that comes on quickly and goes quickly but is getting more and more frequent.
A couple of things I've thought it could be related to - I've been coming off a very low dosage of sertraline (antidepressant) that I was on since early January this year (so not long) have been doing it gradually, one every other day for around 2 weeks and then stopped. I feel fine in terms of happiness, the depression is definitely under control, but have thought it could be causing these funny spells. But I don't know why it would be going on for so long?
Another thing is, I'm not sure if it's just coincidence, but I'm sure it's been worse on/after nights when I've been drinking alcohol. I don't have much evidence of this as I don't drink a lot but the last couple of times I have it's seemed to be worse the next day as well as on the evening I've been drinking, like when I've been on my way home and got home more than actually when I've been out. Although maybe this is just as I'm tired and it's making whatever the problem is worse?
I'm living abroad temporarily so am not signed up to a doctor, have travel insurance but think it may be an issue claiming if it is something to do with the depression, as I stupidly forgot to mention it when buying the insurance and being asked about existing medical problems (it just didn't come to mind to put it and I've never had to answer yes to that question before!) So I want to avoid unnecessary doctor visits if it is just some kind of withdrawal from the tablets.

I'm 26 years old and a week ago I felt a sudden headache in my left part of the head(left Parietal Lobe) and my head fell down suddenly like I was fainted. This lasted not more than 30 seconds and happened twice on the same day.
Now sometimes I feel a headache in my left part of the head(mainly Parietal Lobe area) and the dizziness never appeared again.
I'm 175 cm tall, and weight is 70kg
I'm a software engineer and work almost 10 hours a day with the computer.
I also do some studies after my work.
I go on jogging every day.
I occasionally take liquor and smoke(once per month may be)
I'm following intermittent fasting( I don't take my breakfast, only lunch and dinner) for about 30 days now.
I think with my work and studies, the stress is a bit high.
