Once again I Seem to be experiencing more side effects. Last few days heart beats really fast feel faint the whole time. How long will these side effects go on for does anyone know.

View 2 RepliesI am a 47 year old male (right weight for height) and reasonably fit running three times a week who has recently had to visit the doctor (first time in years) for severe neck pain caused by strenuous gardening work -so called leisure.
However my blood pressure was checked over the past few weeks and has found to be continuously very high ranging 190/115 to 150/90. My GP has decided to put me on ramipril starting with 2.5mg increasing to 5 mg and then 10mg over six weeks. On reading the comments about side effects I am really concerned which has now possibly increased my blood pressure further - really concerned on what to do, should I get a second opinion through my private medical before starting this treatment?
Put on this drug for HBP 2.5mg then 5 mgs had various problematic side effects went to doctor to advise him of my problems with this drug. He then increased the dosage to 10 mgs which I have taken now for 2 months and the problems have multiplied to a point when I have become so ill with all the problems highlighted in these messages that I stopped taking the drug and started to feel better within 3 days. I wonder now what the reaction will be from my GP when I tell him that I want to try an alternative drug. Having high blood pressure I could do without worrying about his comments which other people have endured when they have asked to have an alternative drug.

View 1 Replieshave been taking Ramipril for 3 months now and at first didn't link the dreadful cough with this drug until I researched it on the web. I have developed a dreadful dry tickly cough which starts at the back of the throat and immediately starts to make my eyes water. The coughing then starts to go into a spasm and its worse at night - I haven't had a full night's sleep for weeks.
Also my chest is beginning to be sore due to all the coughing, its very distressing and I am going to be back at my gp.
I am 41 years old and have been taking this drug for the past 7 years (As at April '09) I suffer from all the symptoms; sickness, numbness, tingling etc. I forget to take it more than I remember. The advice I give is:- unless it affects you as a driver then don't worry about it but if you are concerned then speak to your doctor. I am a professional driver (Coaches) and if I went off sick every time I had a side effect, I would never work again. Then I would get bored.
View 1 RepliesI'm a 32 year old female and about a year ago I started with what felt like skipped beats so I went to the doctor who listened to my heart and said it sounded ok so she sent me for a 24 hour heart monitor which showed my heart beating faster than it should at times and also in places there was extra beats which she said would of been what I felt as skipped beats, anyway she said they seemed to be benign but is sending me to a cardiologist to see if there are any mess to control it as it happens daily and just recently I've started to get a feeling a bit like my heart is vibrating but I only notice it when I'm sat down doing nothing. Does anyone else have this problem? I feel like I'm going made and it's taking over my life it's all I seem to think about now.
View 1 RepliesI have a question about possible side effects of allergy shots. I got 4 shots so far (shot per week). On the first 3 there were no side effects besides feeling a bit tired on the evening of the shot probably due to the antihistamines medication that i am taking before receiving the shot, but in the morning after getting my 4th shot I woke up with very strong pain in the heart area (this is roughly 16 hours after the receiving the shot), the pain slowly went away in the course of several hours. I went to a doctor and did echocardiogram on the same day which was OK. I am not in a stressed period or did anything special during the week.
I am 36 years old, healthy, exercise regularly and have no heart troubles.
My question is if this heart pain can be related to the allergy shots or it is just a coincidence ?
Pills for RA are not working for me so rheumatologist is suggesting self-injected Humira or Enbrel. I read the side effects and they are scary. Especially it can cause heart failure even if you don't have a bad heart. I'd like to hear from any of you who are on these drugs and your experience with them.
View 2 RepliesFor the past 4 or 5 days i been having hard heart beats but at a normal heart rate i don't feel weak or anything it's just the worry i have and i get a little panic cause the hard heart beat is just there i can see my stomach move a little with each heartbeat i don't know if its cause the anxiety causing this but the hard heart beat won't go away i been having anxiety for the past 2 months i would say i would get really worried and kinda panic i did go to the hospital they took xrays and blood test and checked my heart they said everything is good and when im at night trying to sleep i struggle cause i just feel my heart beat and doesn't let me relax if anyone is having this please give advice on any medication or diets that can help i'm 24 and weight 165 pounds

View 2 RepliesI have premature beats, a bit of tachycardia, and valve problems in upper and lower chambers and a distorted aorta. Recently (only at night - so that may be the reason), I am woken up by a huge breath and my chest is being thrown forward - well thats what it seems like? Could this be the heart stopping and restarting or perhaps just sleep apnea?

As far as I know I have nothing wrong with my heart but put on bisoprolol as my regular non specific beta blocker (Inderal LA) was discontinued. I was put on it 8 years ago for migraine only.
I am 24 years old, 82kg and been stressing about my health for the past month.
I first experienced a very fast heart rate from a short 2 min jog up the road were i had to stop and wait for my heart rate to slow down.
now since then my stamina has gradually gone right down to the point were I am unable to go up two flights of stairs without my heart racing and feeling out of breath. bearing in mind at rest I only experience a tight chest no shortness of breath.
To rule out heart problems I recently had a Echo-cardiogram,ECG,holter test and a chest x-ray. I was told all my valves were fine, my arteries were not blocked and my ecg came back abnormal but it was not serious. (all these tests were done in the past 3 weeks)
Now as I had my consultation with an expert they noticed I was wheezing and I explained to her every single day my chest feels sore and tight. even now as i type laying on my bed. I was diagnosed with asthma when I was a child but I seemed to grow out of it, however back in 2006 I had similar feeling to what I have experiencing now which is tight chest pains, shortness of breath. but I cant remember my heart jumping really high from exertion of walking up the stairs.
so now I am going to visit my asthma clinic on thursday to see what they say,suggest etc.
So my question is could these symptoms of tight chest and short breath be linked to my fast heart rate?
For the last couple of months I have experienced a rapid thumping sound in might right ear, like a very fast heart beat. it only seems to happen at night and is driving me mad. some nights it wakes me up At 3 or 4 in the morning.
i have been to my GP and he is arranging for me to visit ENT specialist at my local hospital and a head scan.
does anyone know what this could be?
i am 15 years old, and i have smoked weed about 8 times. but the last time i really got a bad trip. it felt like my heart was going to explode and like i couldn't breathe properly. after the effect stopped. i were fine. but some days later i felt that my heart was beating fast and hard. i went to the doctor, he said it was just fine but i still felt in in the same unpleasant way. sometimes i get this tickling feeling in my heart and i've lost my appetite. any ideas to what it could be?sorry 4 the bad english.
View 2 RepliesI have some strange feelings and etc for around 6 months. I don't have any panic attacks or anxiety from long time ago, but something is wrong with me. For example in morning I stand up from bed and my heart rate goes to around 130 or when i climb up stairs ( around 20 of them) i get heart rate around 170 per min. That's not normal I know, but I have had heart ECG, heart ULTRASOUND,blood tests and etc and everything is fine. But on left side of chest I have pressure, feels like some organ is swollen or I don't know, maybe lung is pressed or something. I had also lungs x-ray but it came out fine. When heart is beating fast, i feel pain in my upper chest like in my airways, and when my heart calms down i have sore upper chest. 1 month ago i got maybe palpitations but not sure if it's palpitations, happens most when im standing. I get fast squeeze in left chest like my left lung is squeezed, but in this second my heart stops beating and then starts after 1sec beat fast and again slowly. I really dont know what to do, because im sure i dont have anxiety or panic. I was on xanax,citalopram,lexotanil for long time and nothing helped me for that. P.S My left leg is always cold,mostly when im laying down. Sometimes i get vibrating sound in my left chest and i don't know what is this. Mostly im scared if its my heart or what... Doctors said im okay, but i still feel not normal and without full access to live my life.. I had also brain scans,neck x ray and all is fine. All tests I had everything is normal. What do you think I should check? Please don't write about psychology problems, because its not this and im sure its not in my head.
