I suffer with pain on the left side of my face in the form of tingling feeling in the lip, gum, tongue, nostril and eye. Have been on amitriptlyne for a while and then on gabapentine and pregabalin but the last two gave me awful side effects so have come off them and just taking painkillers at the moment, but they don't do much at all. Has anyone tried a Tens Machine?

I am 41 years old and have been taking this drug for the past 7 years (As at April '09) I suffer from all the symptoms; sickness, numbness, tingling etc. I forget to take it more than I remember. The advice I give is:- unless it affects you as a driver then don't worry about it but if you are concerned then speak to your doctor. I am a professional driver (Coaches) and if I went off sick every time I had a side effect, I would never work again. Then I would get bored.

I have been having vertigo for 6 months.. On my 4th dr and seems I know more than they do.. I have no life anymore as I can't drive, scared to go anywhere and have given up seeing friends because the vertigo is getting worse.. Has gone from less than a minute with moving to 3 minutes and I can just be laying here. I have researched for months and can't seem to find my exact symptoms.. When my vertigo starts I also get tingling on one side. Does anyone know what this could be so I can help my dr find a diagnosis.. Not knowing adds to the anxiety and I am about ready to cry just typing this.

I'm a 41 yr old who has been suffering with tingling and numbness in my face, hands and feet and my tongue deviates slightly to the right. I have also had periods of dizziness. I have been hospitalized twice in the last month. Every test has come back negative... One neurologist suggested I could be having Tia while another said its not. I have a strong feeling that my menstrual cycle may play a part in this. I was looking at post from 2011 and their were other women who have similar symptoms!

For couple of days I have been feeling very strange. I am not that old and that is why my state frightens me a bit. I have this tingling reaction on my face whenever I tap it. Also, I have a pain in my neck. I can not remember having any serious health problems in my past. Since I have no idea what is wrong with me, I was wondering if you can help me with some kind of explanation for this face tingling symptoms.

I'm a 30 year old female who lately has been going through a tough time. I have always been a worrier, especially when it comes to health. Since I was 9 years old I've worried about different diseases (especially after googling) which made me convinced my life would end several times in my life. Right now I'm going thru a bad phase which I don't know what to do. It all started last year when I started getting lots of numbness and tingling in face and legs. Then in November I started getting left sided chest pain which is 24/7 stabbing pains. I've been to emergency twice since Feb. And they did EKG, xray and blood tests which supposedly came out fine. Then, in February I started getting heart palpitations, skipping beats. At this point I was convinced I have heart disease. 3 weeks ago the mild dizziness started where I felt I was gonna faint. During the time it started I remember going out to eat with my hubby and kids and I literally felt like I was not there, as if I was in another planet, everything felt unreal. I've been really tired too. I've been seeing a cardiologist who did an EKG, heart Echo. And tomorrow I'm having a stress test and a holter monitor for 24 hours. He thinks its anxiety. But I am not convinced. I'm just extremely scared of dying because I have 3 children who are all under 7 years old. By the way, I did want to mention that from October thru March I was going thru a big worry with the law. Don't want to get into details but I was very worried for 5 months that I was going to go to jail. Everything turned out fine however, I don't know if that worry triggered physical anxiety symptoms.

I'm a 32 year old woman I've been diagnosed with chronic migraine I've suffered from this horrible illness since I was 18 from 18 till 28 my headaches were throbbing one Sided and intense the last few years my headaches have changed to a chronic daily headache which is mild to moderate sometimes intense pain I do take painkillers daily which help cut the daily pain from what would be a 8 down to a 2 also my pain isn't always throbbing it's one Sided but not throbbing sometimes it can throb if I move my head I've told the neurologist that it's not throbbing yet he diagnosed it as transformed migraine . Since my headaches have changed I've gotten different symptoms such as a tingling sensation on my face under my eye near my nose on my cheeks etc , sometimes I'll get a dragging sensation on one side of my face like my eye is getting pulled Down , and the most frightening symptom I sometimes feel completely detached from my self or my surroundings it's very scary also I get Alice in wonderland syndrome when I get all these symptoms I don't always get a headache or if I do it will be very mild I'm waiting to see a neurologist again plus I'm booked in for a mri on my brain I'm curious if anyone gets any of these bizarre symptoms I'm very nervous I should mention I've had these odd symptoms for about four years but the detached feeling has gotten more frequently.

About a week and a half ago I woke up to my left eye completely swollen shut. Doctor gave me antihistamine and antibiotic to cover allergic reaction and infection. Swelling significantly went down but never 100%. Eyelid still throbbing on occasion and throbbing to side of eye and in corner. Swelling has moved to side of face and under chin. Had cat scan and ultrasound and nothing abnormal but everyone notices the swelling except my doctor down plays it. Something is going and I'm super frustrated with what it could be.

I'm 29 years old.
Since yesterday I've experienced paraesthesia/numbness on the left side of my face.
It starts from just before the eye and to the chin including the left side of my tongue.
A few hours after it started when I saw that this feeling is consistent I went to the ER (it was night so I didn't have many choices).
They did several blood tests, urine test and chest and back X-ray - all came out OK.
They also checked heart-rate and blood pressure and of course they're fine.
I had the same paraesthesia in left side of the face a month ago and it passed within a few hours - the doctor told me then to come back for a checkup if it happens again but didn't refer me to a specialist.
Now they referred me to a neurologist and a nose-ear-throat doctor but I have an appointment for 2-3 months from now.
The last doctor I saw was convened it's an anxiety disorder (which I have for about 15 years) - but it doesn't seem likely to me (although possible).
I also got estimations that it might be a virus or an ear/jaw infection.
Do you have any way to help me understand what i might have and what test should I do (and insist on) and generally, how worried should I be?

Yesterday after showering I laid down for bed and I got this itchy burning sensation on the left side of my face...I thought to myself it was just dry skin...I woke up the next day with no issue...it was about 34 degrees outside today and wind was gusty...but I maybe spent 45 mins outside on and off...maybe 5-10 mins at a time at best...I noticed throughout my day the burning sensation was getting worse...I came home from work and showered once again and it feels like it made it worse...I am having trouble chewing on that side of my mouth, but only because of moving my mouth to chew...I never had my wisdom teeth pulled and I'm 29 years of age...my teeth and gums themselves do not ache or hurt at all...I just had gotten over a head cold, but i always have them through the winter months...This is the 1st time this had ever happened to me...My skin does dry out in the winter time, but i've never had this feeling before...should i be worried and seek medical help? It almost feels like sunburn and it hurts to the touch...the right side of my face is completely normal...the reason this scares me is if i have a infection in my gums/tooth somewhere i heard this can be deadly if not treated...

My blood calcium level is 10.6. So far what I've read on the Internet it looks like parathyroid disease but I'm not sure. I just tested again on calcium and the parathyroid but I won't know anything till next week and I'm going out of town tomorrow and I know I won't be able to enjoy myself like I should worrying about this. So I have all the symptoms like painful joints, unable to focus, tired, dizzy, tingling legs and feet and easily set off. But what worries me is that a year ago it was discovered I have an enlarged pituitary gland that I haven't followed up on and I've read something about that. Also I am a smoker so does anyone know if I would feel like this if its cancer. I've had issues with my neck for awhile. It was swollen a couple of years ago to where it felt like a golf ball in the back. Now it feels tight in the front. Could it be throat cancer?

I have numbness in my left upper leg once a week, to the point where I cant feel anything when I touch the skin on my leg. I also have pins and needles in the same leg. I don't have any pain. I also have a slight case of scoliosis. Its not visible but it might be a contribution to the numbness in my leg?
