Can some of you ladies who have had c sections tell me what to expect? Out of this entire pregnancy I think that is the only part that really scares me half to death.
I'd love to hear your stories & how long it too you to recover.

View 1 RepliesI have had Vestibular Neuritis since I was 6 years old. I didn't find out I had this until I was about 17 years old. I was at first diagnosed at age 13 with having BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), but we discovered after about two years that this was not it, when the exercises failed to work. Once I was diagnosed correctly, I attend rehabilitation therapy. I have been doing the eye-exercises they gave for about 3 years now, and even still after that much time, if I slack off the vertigo returns. My therapist did tell me that the nerve in my inner ear was damaged and that I probably have a more severe case of VN (do to how long I have had it and describing my attacks), but has anyone else been taking this long to recover as well? I am grateful that I don't have something worse than VN, but still it is annoying (especially during the fall and spring: allergies) and I am okay if I end up dealing with it the rest of my life the exercises do keep the symptoms at bay most of the time. I was just wondering if others have taken this long or longer to recover as well.

It started when I was at work just over 3wks ago, I got the most excruciating pain in the upper left side of my abdomen, going into my back (the exact same pain I used to encounter when I had gallstones nearly 10 years ago, but I knew it couldn't be that, as I had my gallbladder removed.) my colleague took me to the walk in centre, where I had bloods taken and given buscopan tablets and sent home. Later that night the walk in centre rang to tell me I had pancreatitis, and that I should see my GP in the morning. I went to see my GP, she was puzzled why I hadn't already been admitted to hospital, she then arranged for me to go straight on to a ward. I was kept in for 4 days, nil by mouth on a drip, on lots of painkillers and I was given a X-ray and ultrasound scan. I was discharged and was sent home to rest, they said I would need to go back as a outpatient for a MRI, a camera test and a mrcp test. I got a sick note from my GP for 2wks, so thought I'd be ok by now? I was due to return to work yesterday, but still don't feel well, so my doctor has given me another note for 2wks. I still haven't heard from the hospital re tests, I just wondered is it normal to still be in some pain, I am also very tired? I know I shouldn't worry but I am worried about returning to work, my boss and her boss are coming to my house on Friday to discuss my attendance as it is procedure, it really is making me very anxious, I just want to get better.
View 69 RepliesAfter putting it off for ages I just can't take it anymore and have finally decided to have my gallbladder removed. I'm actually writing this lying on my knees doubled over a pillow after another attack. They are so frequent now it's ridiculous.
I'm having keyhole provided all goes to plan but am concerned about how long recovery will take as I have an 11 month old, 23 month old and 9 year old. As well as worrying about the op I'm concerned about how they'll be. Got my husband and sister to help me out but you know sometimes kids just want their mum. I know I can't lift for 2 weeks but how strict is that? And could it be longer then that? Will it hurt lifting my younger two a month or two months after?
Anyone with toddlers had the op? What was it like?
I just had my pre-op for a myomectomy. And, my doctor said I could return to work after 1 to 2 weeks after surgery. Is it me, or does this seem to be too soon to return to work after a surgery?

Has anyone ever had a repeat C-section after the first one was an emergency, the difference is during my emergency c- section I was put to sleep. I appreciate the heads up with the repeat but I'm extremely worried. Any advice or past experiences to lift my spirits?

This is my first baby, and I have no idea what to expect.
Like I know the basics, they're going to use the tape first for 24 hours (checking me every 12 hours) and then if that doesn't work I get the gel for another 24 hours (again checking me every 12 hours)
And once I'm 3 cm Dilated they will break my waters, and put me on a drip to help bring on contractions..
I need someone who has either been Induced and or been Induced and had a natural labour.
I just want to know what I should expect happen, and does it hurt more being induced or just having Bub come natural. And what I can do once the tape is in to help speed up the labour.
