I am currently 34 weeks pregnant and i'm feeling sharp uncomfortable pains down below even when i'm in bed. They happen at random times so they are not regular. What do you think am i in early labour or baby is engaging?
View 2 RepliesThis might be TMI, but my vagina has been very sore. I thought it might be a UTI, but my vagina is sore, not sharp pains. Feels like someone hit it with a bat a few weeks ago and I'm still recovering lol its only sore when I walk (well when I waddle). I'm 35 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this?
View 1 RepliesI just went to the doctor who was very happy with my flexion and bending. He told me I don't even need PT any longer and to keep walking, swimming and doing whatever it is I've been doing. The last time I was measured I was about 120-122 in both knees. I had double knee replacement. My gait is good. I do not limp. This last week I have walked, stood and climbed steps more and at night have really paid the price. I had two nights where I really was unable to sleep because of the aching and pains going down the shins from the knees. I've iced and used heat but unhappy about this. The next day was difficult to walk. I'm feeling like one step forward two steps back. My husband says this is just "part of the healing process" and to just keep going. It's depressing, though. I'm tired of being in pain and want to move on with my life and be able to walk 1-2 miles without being incapacitated the next day. I was also told that I would just need Tylenol or Aleve at this point for pain but.....doesn't put a dent in the night pain. Anyone else experienced this?

View 1 Repliesi had an endoscopy on Monday afternoon and ever since I've been having these sharp pains during and after eating. Is this normal? The pain sometimes radiates to my back or over my whole chest area making me panic and think I'm having a heart attack. I have a heavy set girl and keep thinking I'm going to die!
View 1 RepliesI woke up in early January with sharp chest pains. I'm young, but of course I did not discount heart ailments. Two ER trips and a Doctor later, after every medical test to my poor body, I have been diagnosed with pleurisy.
I have kids, they are great and understanding and have helped me a lot, but it's been almost 14 weeks. I hurt. This came from nothing, I am extraordinarily healthy, I just hurt.
Today I suppose I'm at my wits end. I am terribly healthy, I should not have this. I have been crying all day.
I've been dealing with anxiety for now going on 5 months straight with a little break here and there , but this head sensations are what's driving me crazy , the sensations I get are scalp soreness , sharp pains that move around different parts of my head , this shaky head feeling soreness in the top of my head dull pains in different areas mild headaches back of the head aches , I just want this to all leave me alone , it makes me so sad , I tired of dealing with this .

View 11 RepliesI had a TKR on 18 Feb, so I am about ten weeks in, the pain is still bad, it's a sharp stinging pain, not what I imagined at all. IS it normal to get this much pain, this far in ?
So i'm back at work and more or less painfree altho still a bit uncomfortable but today feel as if the prolapse is still there ie i feel as tho there is something inside me and have been experiencing stabbing pains inside - is this normal for 13 weeks post op? Any advice greatly appreciated - Matron?
View 34 RepliesI've tried about 3 other boards and seems like 100's of site but I cannot find anyone with similar symptoms to what I have. On feb 14, I got a huge euphoric feeling in my head, followed by rapid heart rate, tingling in my fingers and toes, and a feeling that I was going to have a mental breakdown. I went to the ER and got blood pressure/blood sugar/EKG test and a physical test and they determined I was fine and gave me Ativan to take. The next day I started feeling pains in my head that would last for 2-5 seconds and then go away, come back in a different spot later. They hit me anywhere from in my brain, in my sinus (although no sinus pain since Monday), different parts of my skull and on the sides of my head. Most of the pains are on the skull (bone). I mentioned to my doc and he switched me to clonazepam and told me to come back in two weeks to see if I need an MRI.
That appt is next Wednesday and as it has been 3 weeks of the pain not getting better or worse I'm almost positive I'll still have it by then. On a side note, in the past my headaches were in my brain and would be a constant pain for a few hours, and would only come ones a month or so. These pains are not nearly as painful and do not last for more than 20 seconds, but they happen at all times of the day (although in he morning I can lay in bed for a half hour and have no pain, then they come shortly after i get up. I've looked at brain tumour symptoms and I don't really have any of them, the pain is light, my cognitive skills are the same, no nausea, dizziness, etc. The only thing I have is chronic anxiety because of the pains and the fact that they could be something serious. So basically, should I try to get an MRI before meeting my family doc next week? I live in Canada so everything is covered.
Has anyone else had sciatica pain when pregnant or not? And what do you recommend for relief? My left leg has been hurting like a sharp pain with tingling and numbness off and on. I don't know what to do to help since Tylenol didn't help...

View 1 RepliesI been having stomach pains to the point for about 3 months which is really scaring me a lot I went to the hospital I thought I was my appendix but it wasn't they did x-Ray and ct scan and blood work everything come out normal but they told me I have fatty liver I also had h.pylori but don't have h.pylori no more took antibiotics and also have gastritis but still they don't find nothing but I'm still in pain it comes and goes to me it feels like it's air in my stomach it goes everywhere around to my left side to my chest but it doesn't goes away. Lately I been feeling nauseous wanna throw up I just wanna feel normal again as I write this. I have discomfort in my stomach right side I can push down with one finger on my stomach and hold it, it hurts and it feels like it's burning I don't know what to do.
View 4 RepliesMY GP recently prescribed Atorvastatin to deal with high(ish) cholesterol. I have been taking Amlodipine, Losartan and Bezafibrate without any problems but in the past 3 weeks since starting the statins I feel like crap - Nausea, muscle pains, kidney pains and total lack of energy.
The blurb with the statins indicated there could be problems with Amlodipine but I started taking them.
I had an ectopic pregnancy last year January but I'm still struggling to conceive. My doctor examined me and said everything is okay, she gave me pills that cleans the womb and she even gave me prescriptions but nothing helps. My periods are normal but I do get period pains. What can I do now or what can I take to me fertile?
View 1 RepliesWhat has helped you ladies go into labour on your own? I'm literally due in 2 days (on the 9th) and was only dilated 1cm on Tuesday, I really don't want to go overdue or be induced. I've only been having Braxton hicks, no actual labour pains, it's so frustrating. I've done walking, and bouncing lightly on an exercise ball.
View 1 RepliesUp until a few years ago I never had any trouble with either erectile problems, last long and enjoyed healthy orgasms. Then about 2 plus years ago right after going through a breakup I came down with the most terrible burning in my penis especially when urinating, geese was like peeing hot battery acid out. I thought could I have gotten something from the ex even though we practiced safe sex. Went to the drs, did the following. Urine culture, swab,blood work, gave me a shot and put me on some super strong antibiotics. Tests all came back clean. Meanwhile continues to take the antibiotics and no improvement after 7-10 days.
Back to the drs and he did all the same tests again, blood, urine culture to see if he possibly missed something the first time around. Again everything came back clean. The Dr put me on yet more antibiotics and another couple shots,lol. After about a month or more it eventually went away. That was one very long month or burning. Never felt so miserable in my life.
Afterwards i noticed that when engaging in sex I came very fast and upon ejaculating felt like it didn't want to come out more like someone forgot to open the valve and then I would ejaculate and kinda burns and not much comes out.No real pressure.
Went to a urologist where he also checked and cultured for everything. Again everything came back clean. He performed a procedure where they put a scope up you to have a look see as he thought maybe a urethral stricture. No blockages or narrowing of urethra. Only thing he did notice was I didn't seem to void all the way as I still had some urine in my bladder. Prescribed something call Flomax as he really didn't know and was just guessing not a very good urologists to be honest.
Terrible side effects from the Flomax and had to stop taking the meds. Needless to say I am still suffering from the premature ejaculations and uncomfortable feeling ejaculations.
I had a Paragard IUD fitted in early June, and everything had been going going brilliantly up until a few days ago. My periods has become slightly heavier/more painful, but the non hormonal contraceptive and convenience definitely outweighed a couple of days of discomfort a month. I had a pretty heavy period last week, and my boyfriend came to visit at the weekend so I didn't get around to checking my strings until Monday, when I felt a small lump next to the opening of my cervix, though I could still feel the strings. I panicked thinking I was expelling and booked an emergency appointment with the GP. She examined me and said that everything looked fine, I had a small nabothian cyst on my cervix but it wasn't anything to do with my coil, nor was it of any concern as they are very common. I felt really relieved but I also have this odd feeling, like I can physically feel my iud. I feel a bit crampy when I sit down, and it almost feels like something is scratching my uterus. I didn't have this before. Has anyone had a similar experience or feeling? I really hope it subsides because the copper IUD is ideal for me in every other aspect, I have PCOS and don't want to mess up my cycles with hormonal contraceptives.
View 1 RepliesI tried out the nuvaring AMD I want to say I kept it in for about a week. I started the day after my period completely stopped. Before I had started this birth control I showed signs of a bacterial infection (washed my clothes in scented detergent by accident)... At this time I started my period which was at the end of the month. The last day of my period was on the first of last month which was march. I started my birth control I'll say on the 2nd, I kept it I'm for about a week or a week and a half if not 2 weeks. I decided to remove it because I was uncomfortable with the feeling.... After suddenly stopping, now today April 6th I have not seen my period. What are the possibilities of me being pregnant or could this been the after effects of the nuvaring for stopping suddenly..
