Packing Fell Out Of Wound

I have an open wound and I have been to the doctors to get it packed and dressed by the nurse. They are closed on the weekend so she told me to change the dressing myself when it needed changed but to make sure the packing stays in. I changed it this morning and the packing slid out! And some of it is still stuck in the wound at the bottom. I'm worried that the wound will close over with the remains of the packing still in it and that the wound will be closing over instead from the inside first. Any advice would be Helpful as I my next appointment with the nurse isn't until Tuesday morning!

Can anyone tell me how long it took for the gel packing to "melt away" after the surgery? I don't have an appointment until a month after surgery-which seems unusual after reading other posts. I'm only 5 days post-surgery, but the packing is driving me crazy. I think it is causing a loud whooshing noise whenever I am sitting up. I think it is also making it painful if I lie on my non operated side-as if it is putting extra pressure on the ear drum?

yesterday evening i fell down in my home. my weight is 115kg. my chest was hit by the ground. i didn't go to hospital. i have very mild pain in yesterday night. but now pain slightly increased in centerpoint of chest. now what shall i do. should i go to hospital? or shall i apply any ointment? cause any heart or bone fracture related problem?

Recently My nuvaring was taken out for sex, and yes I know you don't have to, but I do because of the painful friction when its not inserted deep enough. I realized the next morning that it was out still (more than three hours), and put it back in like the pamphlet says.. Only I didn't realize that I was in my third week, which comes with different instructions. Not knowing what to do, I left it in and took it out on my normally scheduled day. Now I have my period and my question is should I put a new ring in now, on the first day of My period, or on the day I would have taken it out had the cycle not been interrupted, or should I put it in a week from day that that I took it out the first time? I took it out Thursday put it back in Friday morning and took it out Sunday. Now today my period started. What do I do? How long should I use extra protection for?

I was trying to wash my cloth by hand with some amount (large) of fresh sperm on, then I notice that there is a yellow clot (very likely to be someone else's dry sperm)... and I got a wound on finger 10 hours ago (so the wound is probably under the process of vasoconstriction)...
So if:
(1) The clot (dry sperm) contains HIV and
(2) The HIV got activated by the new fresh sperm and
(3) got to the surface of my finger where there is a wound (in recovering, there might be Lymph on the wound)

My wound was leaking at one week post op , then continued till i had dressing change last monday . Dressing stayed dry all week , removed it this morning at 4 weeks post op so could have a shower then realised an arc of fluid was coming out of a central point in the wound - rest of the wound is fine and dry. Not painful and doesnt look infected but I wondered if anyone else has had a wound problem like this , and how long it lasted ?

I have this bacteria called IMPETIGO. To be honest it's the worst thing I had in my life. I'm 18 years old and having this kind of bacteria is simply awful. It all started when I returned from the sea side, I was there on holiday with my best friend. During the trip I had nothing, everything was fine, but the last day a juicy wound appeared on my knee. The major problem is that in 6 days from now I'm leaving to London to visit some relatives and they have a daughter, she's 10. I'm so scared that I could give this bacteria to her, I feel so embarrassed. Please help me, could someone tell me if there is any possibility that I can avoid this ?

I scraped both of my knees yesterday afternoon. When I got home I washed them with soap and water then let them breathe out a bit. When I went to sleep I put on 2 non-adherent sterile pads and when I woke up, one of them was healing perfectly but the other had a yellow puss come out of it. There is this weird liquid coming out of the scrape and when I put the pad back on for another hour or so today, yellow stuff was still coming out of it. It hurts to move my leg and to put pressure on it. Should I be getting this checked out?

My TKR is 12 days away now and I was told I that if there was a single break in the skin on that leg the op would be cancelled because of the infection risk. Even an insect bite would be a problem...
I have to say I never realised how often my legs had minor wounds... I'm generally quite outdoorsy and I'm permanently covered in bites, bramble scratches, nettle rash (which I always manage to scratch open) etc, or accidental scratches from playing with dogs and cats, or catching my leg on a fence whilst struggling to get my dodgy legs over a style...
i never even think about it, but now I feel like I have to wrap the leg in cotton wool to protect it these last few days... Just got me wondering... What aspect of your surgeries took you totally by surprise? What did you have have to think/worry about that you never even thought about before?

My mother was using a toothpick the other night and poked herself in the mouth pretty hard. Her face started to swell really big she took some Advil that seemed to help with the swelling i am just wondering how or if this is an urgent thing to have looked at, as she and my step father are now on an island and far away from any health care! I have a pretty deep laceration to my left index finger but the way that I cut it they could not stitch so they put something they called liquid stitch on it to close it up which has worn off now. It has been 2 weeks now and my finger is very stiff sand I can not bend it at all. Also it aches from time to time and is very itchy. Should I be worried or should i give it more time to heal?
