Have had chronic pain for a year now and am on 60mg of liquid oxycodone and was on 10mg an hour of morphine thru buprenorphine patches and now im on 20mg boy does it give you headaches anybody got the same?
View 5 Repliesa have been on sertraline 50mg for 4 weeks now into my second week on 100mg a feel things are getting a lot better it is just the headaches at times are quite severe am having to take strong painkillers a know it is a side effect but are they meant to be so severe or should i go to the doctors ?
View 4 RepliesI recently started a low dose (5 mg) of Brintellix 4 days ago, and I've had a headache every day. I'm wondering if it's common to get headaches when first starting an antidepressant and how long I should give it before I decide to stop. My Dr. said to give it a week, but I'm not sure that's long enough based on some stuff I've read. I can't tolerate most antidepressants, which is why I'm hoping this side effect will go away. I was just wondering what others' experiences are when starting a new AD, even if it wasn't Brintellix. Are start up headaches common, and do they normally go away?

(i) If a man can catch an STI like Chlamydia by giving oral sex to a woman, does the STI live in his throat and, therefore, is the only way he can spread Chlamydia by action involving his throat - kissing, giving oral sex etc? In other words, could a man have Chlamydia in his throat and be "clear" in his genitals? (ii) For a woman to catch an STI from giving oral sex to a man, does the man have to ejaculate in her mouth? We have not engaged in actual penetrative sexual intercourse and this was the first time we had oral sex. I know that there are cases wherein there was no penetrative sex but pregnancy occurred. My question is NOT can I get pregnant from giving/receiving oral sex. The bottom line question is: Could I be pregnant if I KISSED my boyfriend after giving him oral (with possible pre-cum as he did not ejaculate) and then him giving me oral?

Last Friday, Jan 2nd at around 7:30PM my boyfriend and I were leaving a restaurant, suddenly I started getting shocks in my right leg like my leg was falling asleep, while I was walking to the car. This shocking feeling quickly radiated up my arm and into my head, all on the right side. My boyfriend quickly started toward the hospital. On the way I lost the ability to formulate sentences and words. I would say one sentence and a totally different sentence would come out. I would try to say one word and a totally different word came out. Being a former medic the only word I wanted to relay was "stroke". It felt like someone had tasted my right side. It was the most frightening thing I'd ever experienced and I was awake for the entire ride. After getting to the hospital I was in the ER for about 3 hours. Then sent to Neurology/Stroke ward. For the next few days I had a battery of MRI's, EEG, EKG's, CT Scans, Blood Work, Ultrasounds and a Spinal (Lumbar Punch). Within 6 or so hours I was able to formulate sentences and say words again. I forced myself the entire time. My right side started getting feeling back within a few days. I still have some numbness in my right hand and am experiencing peripheral neuropathy symptoms in my right leg and foot.
The neurologist found a mass in my brain. Thanks be to God that it is benign. I just found out yesterday that I am cancer free. However, they still don't know what the mass is. It could be a tumor or a jelly bean I stuffed in my nose as a child. (joking) But we won't know for a while.Also it might be inoperable too. I will be seeing the Dr on the 13th for an MRI Rx. In a month we'll do the MRI and see what has happened with this mass. Is the edema gone, has it shrunk or grown? Things like that.

I made the mistake last week of both giving and receiving oral sex with another male. The other male is of unknown status and was a drug user/sex worker. I received the oral for less than a minute and gave it for roughly 10, with no ejaculation on either side.
Since then, I have had slight lower abdomen pain, a sore throat and what seems like burning urine/penis tip. I am in a monogamous relationship and really don't want to pass this on and certainly don't want to ruin my relationship by bringing this up, I'd rather deal with the guilt as this was a one time thing.
My questions are...
- What are the risks of contracting HSV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia or Syphilis? (understanding that HIV is very low, if any risk, for oral)
- Is the abdomen/pelvic pain a symptom of anything?
- If the event happened roughly 4 days ago, would I be able to test for Syphilis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea? I am going to the clinic this evening and asked them to give me antibiotics for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea anyways just in case.
- Would there be any risk of any of these diseases infecting my throat from his penis and vice versa?
- Should I abstain from any sexual encounter with my current partner? There would be no expectation of protected sex considering we are monogamous and saying no or we need a condom would certainly raise red flags.
- Am I at risk of anything else that I can't think of?
I am very worried about this encounter and would appreciate any insight and thoughts you can provide. Mainly, if you think I am at risk from this encounter and if I should abstain from any sexual encounter with my current partner given the circumstances.
Now I'm 3 years without a single relapse and I have no intention of smoking again, no desire or urge. Admittedly I feel much better compared with how I did when I smoked, no wheezing or coughing, my head is much clearer.
But still I feel paranoid. It's like it builds up, slowly, accumulated, and then suddenly I realize I'm just scared of everything around me, like everybody is focused on me, and everybody is talking about me. It's horrible.
If anyone has had similar experiences it would be great to hear about them.
I have a partner who has a mustache and when he does oral sex it seems lately I am getting a bladder infection a day later. Is there anything I can protect myself from getting this?

View 3 RepliesI contracted HSV1 genitally 16 months ago from someone who was not aware that cold sores were a manifestation of herpes. I've not been sexually active since, but recently met a guy who I disclosed to because things were clearly going to get more intimate. He's been very understanding and accepting, but obviously nervous too. He was tested after I told him about my situation and definitely does not have anything. Last night I gave him oral, but want reassurance that he will not contract HSV1 through oral sex. Of course today he is super nervous and sees difference on his penis and is generally paranoid. I am going to have a face to face with him, but want to be as knowledgeable as possible and quite frankly its confusing. Some places I read that it can't be transmitted if i give oral because i have it genitally. Other places it seems anything is fair game as far as transmitting. Does anyone have information from a reputable source regarding the safety of my giving oral or the transmission rates of any sexual acts?

It may sound funny but my research also taught me that foam or stuff like that insulates heat by losing the heat in that maze-like foam... and that means the heat has to travel more distance around the maze or stuff... so like heat, can we actually carve out a block of foam and squeeze it into the cups to make the sound travel more distance so reduces our hearing loss?

It's working, but is also keeping me wide awake. Is there any OTC sleep medication I can take while taking oxycodone that will help me get the sleep I need?
View 1 RepliesDoctors found a clot in my carotid artery. This caused a few minor stokes, presumably 5 they tell me, called TIA's. These strokes caused 1 gran mal seizure and another seizure where I was doing the funky chicken for 1 1/2 hours, very scary. They gave me an immediate carotid endarterectomy, scraping the plaque out of my artery, 3 to 7% chance I may have died!! Mending well, but I still have pre- seizure spasms? I'm on 225mg of lamotrigine twice a day. The strokes and seizures caused numbness and pain in my left hip, taking oxycodone for pain. Doc also giving me 5mg zopiclone to mellow me,taken around noon every day, also take 5mg at night along with 30mg of mirtazapine for sleep Does anyone know the interactions if I have a few beer. If anyone has tried alcohol taking theses meds, what was their reaction.
View 2 RepliesI am concerned about getting addicted to these oxycodone. I had back surgery and was told to take 1 to 2 pills every 4 to 6 hours. I am a recovering alcoholic also. I take 1 pill every 6 hours for the past month and in my mind I know when its been 6 hours. I have been reading a few of these posts about people on these oxycodone. I feel like I am hooked on these things already and I do not need that problem. It sounds like these are bad news. I still have back pain and need a painkiller. So my question is am I just paranoid by reading all the other posts or should I ask my doctor for another pain killer and get off these now?
View 5 RepliesI fell downstairs in november last year sprained both feet very badly as I have heart failure things do not heal well. And with all my cardiac meds I am only allowed paracetamol (acetaminophen) last month I visited my GP again for my very painful feet, I get Rx for a temporary low dosage oxycodone but every time I take it I get awful nightmares. I also have other side effects from this like mild nausea but the nightmares are the worst. Anyone had this?
