I was having a scaphoid fracture, and already have my hand on support for 2 weeks, now i can bend my wrist 45 degree without pain, but i can't bend it 90 degree, it doesn't hurt but i just feel can't, like it's fixed, can i start weightlifting and futsal again now ? Of course with wearing support.
View 1 RepliesI had a follow up today with my DR and I am still at a 90 degree bend. We had discussed MUA and I was hoping to avoid it. I have had 6 previous surgeries on his knee due to a car accident when I was 18, I'm now 46. My bend prior to surgery was 110, and I'm just hoping to get back to that and be pain free. My Dr is having me try a dynasplint in hopes to gain flection. I'd love to know if anyone has used it & what results they have had. For the moment, I'm happy to have dodged the bullet of MUA.
View 9 RepliesI have a sore knee, can not fully extend and it hurts trying to bent past 90 degrees. The back appears to be swollen. Suggestions? It started to hurt a little about a week ago and the last 24 hours the pain has increased... Almost feels as if knee is popping.

View 1 RepliesMy kneecap was smashed into more than 10 pieces and was a displaced fracture. I had surgery on July 26th involving pins screws and figure of 8 wire to rebuild my kneecap. I was in a straight splint for two weeks and then a two piece cast with an adjustable steel brace. I spent the first 4 weeks with the brace set at 30 degrees then 60 degrees and 90 degrees for the final 4 weeks. I'm into my 5th week without the cast and I am walking unaided with a slight limp. I go to physio every week as well as doing my own exercises at home and finding it frustrating that I can only still bend my leg 100 degrees, it seems to be stuck here with no signs of improvement. Has anyone out there suffered the same injury and fully recovered? Would be nice to know if there is light at the end of the tunnel.
View 2 RepliesI think I have a wrist strain or sprain in my left wrist. I can hold my hand straight out, fingers stretched out, & when I turn it to the left (sideways, palm side down), it feels like a catch & may be a little popping at times. Is this indicative of a strain or sprain?

View 1 RepliesI broke my leg on the 21st September 2013, and it has now been broken for 15 weeks! I have a spiral fracture to the right tibia, and the doctors decided not to operate. I had a full leg cast for the first 8 weeks, and then went onto a half leg cast, fully weight baring! At first I could only put some of my weight through the bone, and would rely mostly on my crutches, but recently I have been able to hobble around with using no crutches at all - I only do this when i'm inside my house as I would still not rely on my bone fully to steady me. But in the last week or so, it has started to ache more, and it had completely stopped hurting before I am scared that I have put to much weight through it and damaged it again! The pain isn't that bad, it comes and goes and i only take paracetamol to make the ache go away, but it really is worrying me! I don't yet know when my cast is due off as apparently the doctors said my bone will take 4 to 4 and a half months to heal, but by my x rays he said it could be a little earlier! I am a 19 year old girl at university, doing a practical drama degree, so as you can imagine this has been a nightmare for me & I was so hoping I was nearing the end! It seems ever lasting! I'm just wondering if this pain that i'm experiencing now is normal, or if i have possibly done something to damage the break again! I am just panicking because i so want this to be over now i've come 15 weeks and i don't want to go back to square 1
View 2 RepliesDue to heavy lifting i got an injury in my wrist. When it is at rest it not causing any pain but as soon as i lift something or force something it pains a lot. Can u tell me how to rectify it ? Whether a crepe bandage will be helpful in this? How much time will it take to heal?
View 1 RepliesOn 4/5/16 I fell and had an x ray. It showed a lateral malleolus fracture of the right ankle. Last week, Dr was concerned with the amount of swelling, bruising and pain. Therefore he scheduled me for an MRI this past Saturday. Results came back today but I don't see the dr again till 5/23. Debating on if I should wait till then to see my ortho or if I should try to get in sooner with someone else.

Again identified are changes of a lateral malleolus fracture as identified on x-ray. With surrounding large amounts of edema, they are no definite ligamentous injury to be confirmed. Abundant fluid noted within the sinus tarsus and probable deltoid ligaments.
I sprained my wrist 4 1/2 months ago. They did an MRI and found a cyst but the surgeon cannot feel the cyst even though it is on the MRI. He just told me it was just a bad sprain and it would take time. My wrist, hand and fingers have been swollen the whole time. Is this normal? Also, what can I do for pain? I have been taking ALeve but it has stopped working.

Idk if i should go to the doctor or not (it's not too swollen and I have full mobility. But it hurts when I move it at all and I can't pick up anything)

The doctors undertook surgery and after the surgery they did say my nerve was damaged in the process as I had a metal plate inserted to put back the broken bones together if that make sense.
Whilst I understand the fracture will take a while to heal I am real concerned about my nerve injury I can't move my thumb freely, I can't move wrist at all I can bend my fingers but I can't straighten
My splint is tight so I do loosen this and try to do exercise with my hand.
Last February 11, 2014, I fractured my leg (distal tibia and fibula). My doctor calls it Pilon Fracture. Spiral comminuted fracture of the distal tibia and fibula involving the articulations.
February 15, 2014, I went through MIPO (minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis). 4 weeks(March 11) after the operation, my doctor advised me to put some weight on it and so I did. 4 weeks(April 11) later, I had an xray and it appears like nothing's changed from my 1st x ray 4 weeks ago. I tried to put more weight on it but surprisingly, it doesn't hurt nor caused me any discomfort.
How long does a distal tibia and fibula fracture that went through MIPO heal? Exactly when would I walk again without my crutches?!
I injured my right wrist in April, and had surgery for it in the beginning of September, I have had two pins put in my wrist to allow the ligaments to heal as well as to align my bone which had dis aligned. I'm supposed to get the pins out in two weeks, and the pain has been absolutely unbearable. The pain is on the left side of the wrist where the pins are supposed to be taken out, located just under pinky. I am told that the pain is normal but I am looking for a second opinion as even slightly I'm bending my arm causes pain in my wrist.
View 1 RepliesI had metal plates put in my wrist about 3 weeks ago and am in a removable cast. I have unbearable pain at one spot on the side of my wrist under my thumb. It's real painful when I take my cast off and even with the cast I'm only comfortable holding my hand pointing up. Gravity seems to hurt my hand and can't even put my arm in a splint because it hurts. 2 questions:
Had anyone experience this to give advice on what you did to get comfortable and how long this pain lasted?
Any advice on the best position to sleep? All positions I've tried put pressure on that side of my wrist. I tried finding a position where my thumb is pointing up, but haven't found a good position that doesn't lock my shoulder. I haven't slept in 2 weeks and really need some sleep.
my erection angle is very low. say 30 degrees from pointing to ground (this almost looks like even the erected penis pointing to ground)

I had right eye cataract surgery 15 months ago, but protein building required capsulotomy. Unfortunately, the doctor cut a square out of the back of the capsule with a laser which floated in visiont (duh!). Further laser blasting left lots of floaters in eye.
Today had Vitrectomy to remove vitreous and gunk. However, I notice now that vision in that eye is tilted 30° and shifted down from where it should be.
No pain or flashing lights. WIll be calling hospital Friday morning (too late tonight)
I am 34 weeks and I usually squat to pick something up or I'll just sit down to pick something up at home on the floor but then I can't get back up.
