i am a male, 67 years old. i have local pain in the right tibial bone, negative for blood clots and x ray are clear. i have not done any physical activity prior to the pain. what can it be?
i am suffering from spinal stenosis, and will undergo surgery in a few weeks.
can it be radicular pain caused by the spinal stenosis? if so, is there a physical test to help verify that?
December 2013 had a tkr on my right knee, and the day I cam home from the hospital, I complained on I couldn't lay on my right side. After 2 year of cortisone shots, physical therapy and x rays, doctor took an MRI and told me that I have a bone spur and a torn hip lining. Had surgery for that, and I am still in pain now from both the groin area and the hip. Now I am being told that I need a new hip. Not sure that I want to go through that.
View 1 RepliesI had surgery on June 14, 2011 to remove a bone spur on my left clavicle and to remove arthritis near (but not in) my shoulder joint. It was the worse experience of my life. I was in constant agonizing pain for 2.5 months. Just for the record, I've had two ulnar nerve surgeries on my left AND right elbows and never even needed pain medication. This shoulder surgery apparently did not relieve any of my pain. I still have a dull aching pain through out the day starting in my neck (left side) to my shoulder, and down my bicep to my elbow. I still can not sleep at night, and through out the day while working my shoulder/arm/ neck is killing me. I continue to take an Naproxin and continue to rotate heat and ice. I did physical therapy for the first two months after surgery. My concern is that had arthroscopic surgery, and there was NO rotator damage so why is my shoulder still in pain? My shoulder pops when I do try to rotate it.. and often when I simply reach outward for something..I'm in excruciating pain. I'm a baker, so I am constantly lifting a 34-50lb metal mixing bowl and have to reach many times through out the day. There really is no way to not do my job duties and still retain my job. Any ideas why I'm still having this problem?

After 24 hours my Penis Swelling and was itching too much.
Now swelling gone but it's look black as it's burns, and exactly at the area I apply the Local Anesthetic.
It is paining to much now, I don't know what I have to put on my penis now to remove this black skin, and to help this burn to heals.
I'm a 27 year old female and I've been having abdominal pain for 2 months now. I've had a CT scan and blood tests done and everything came back normal other than an elevated WBC in the urinalysis. I can't get in to see my doctor for a few days and just want some peace of mind. I'm having bad sharp upper abdominal pain. It started on the left side originally but is now happening all over my stomach and I'm ridiculously bloated. I started having weird bone pain a few weeks afterward--there is no pattern. My hands will hurt, then my left leg will hurt, then my right hip, etc. Today I started noticing a metallic taste in my mouth as well. Anyone know what this could be? I've researched everything from hemochromatosis (my mom carries the gene) to H Pylori but nothing fits perfectly.
View 2 Repliesfor the past week I had severe joint pain and weakness, muscle weakness, bone pain in extremities ( had a blood test for lupus and RA[ no family history of either] Starting to get a bit better as long as I rest. recently sexually active with one person, now I just noticed feeling swollen like I was getting a UTI ( hurt when I urinate), but noticed it hurt in my vagina not urethra, checked and there are 4 small red bumps in my right labia minora and 1 in my left labia minora-odorless, feels inflamed and hurts now. Is this related to possible lupus or separate problem? I feel exhausted and run down.
View 1 Replies6 weeks ago I had foot surgery (modified brostrom procedure to tighten up ligaments near ankle, and a procedure to correct a calcaneonavicular coalition). I have on incision along my ankle, and another incision on my foot. My cast came off 3 weeks after surgery. 5 weeks after surgery, when I was changing my dressing, I saw some some black stitches from the ankle incision on my gauze pad. I called the doctor's office, and the medical assistant said that that was normal. After that, I noticed drainage for a few days when I changed the dressing. I called doctor's office back, because my foot was feeling hot and I was having a burning pain. They put me on an antibiotic (keflex). And I was told to stop walking and go back to non weight bearing. They told me not to clean the incision. I have only been on antibiotic for 3 days, and it is a 10 day course. In the evenings, especially when I am in bed, I wake up because there is so much pain in my foot, it feels like a deep stabbing pain that is sharp, and sometimes burning. Is this normal of a skin infection from an incision? Could it be a bone infection? Or nerve damage? How patient should I be with this doctor and doctor's office?
View 2 RepliesSo I dislocated my knee in January of this year. I was given a device that isolates my knee cap and hold it in place. I wore the device off and on over the year whenever my knee would feel sort of irregular. I worked out routinely to help strengthen my knee, it helped the pain somewhat, but mostly just made me feel better about the way I looked, and kept me healthy. I haven't worked out since some time before Thanksgiving. Starting this week i've started to feel this new akward feeling behind my kneecap, sort of like the ligament behind my knee cap is tightening, sort of similar to how it felt when I dislocated my knee, but not exactly the same. I get the pain after fully bending my knee, for example when I am on my knees doing my job stocking shelves at work, when I stand to my feet I can usually feel the pain. I try doing a couple of different stretches when to make the feeling go away a bit, but it comes back, and then it eventually goes away again.
My knee "pops" (makes a loud popping noise and pressure) pretty regularly now but when I get off of work and off of my knees I experience the discomfort much less. I want to start exercising again on Monday, but I am scared I might dislocate again. I will try using the knee cap device again tomorrow, but I feel as though whenever I use the device, it makes my knee feel like jello the next day, and make me want to use the device again, even though I was advised by my doctor that I should not need to use it regularly. ....
I am a 34 year old male, no illnesses, suffering from hip pain for a while. The pain is on the outside of the hip in-line with the groin area, it doesn't hurt to walk but lifting and moving the leg when sitting/laying causes pain, as does doing butterfly stretches and bending the knee inwards/outwards. When it's particularly painful my whole leg will ache right down to the ankle.

View 1 RepliesFour days ago I woke up with pretty bad pain on my Occipital bone one the right side.It felt bruised and hurt to touch.Then the pain was constant and throbbing.Now,four days later my neck on that side is tight and sore and have had a constant headache. Before this I was having pain on the same side in my face right near my ear as well as ear pain.I am SUPER dizzy too.I do have meniere's disease as well so I think this problem is aggravating the menieres and dizziness.
I saw my ENT for the ear and face pain and she noticed I had fluid in my ear and treated it,but said it did not look like an infection.My nose has been super stuffy as well.
Having meniere's I tend to hold my head stiff in fear of dizziness and I sleep propped on 4 pillows due to dizziness.After researching all I keep seeing is OCCIPITAL NEURALGIA 😳.I read it can be from neck issues or sometimes infection and the lymph nodes in the Occipital swell.I plan on calling the Dr tomorrow but does anyone have thoughts or similar symptoms? The pain is pretty bad. It feels just like I bumped my head.....Anyone?
I fell off my bike a couple of weeks ago and landed on my hand it got swollen for a couple of days then went down however i'm still getting pain when i try and put pressure on it ie lifting or holding things in the middle of my hand about 2cms above my knuckle little finger and the one next too i can still move my fingers and my hand isn't bruised just a slight bit swollen near the wrist what should i do?

I fell over and broke my left humerus 5 weeks ago yesterday. Initial visit to A&E which resulted in X-rays and put in a collar and cuff for the first 4 days.
I then visited Orthopedics and more X-rays taken and put into a Brace.
I was in the brace until week 4, when it was replaced by a plaster U slab as the brace was causing my arm and hand to be considerably swollen. My U slab had to be changed twice due to it moving constantly in this time and in my opinion not isolating the break.
I had an appointment yesterday at Orthopedics where it was replaced yet again, and told my next appointment is on the 18th of December.
My concerns,
Various different stories told as to healing times.
I am 5 weeks since the break, when will they decide if it needs operating.
I am taking serious pain relief which is barely touching it, and causing sickness.
Its seems like i am being a nuisance asking questions or going back to the hospital, am i being paranoid.
I have managed to take pictures of the X-rays every time they have been taken and week 5 looks the same as day 1.
I know Orthopedic Surgeons undergo the same training. I have a problem that my Surgeon is a lower limb specialist. I have asked to see the Surgeon who specialises in my the area of my break, but only to be told that they are all the same.
I am 22 year old male. My question is why does my left shoulder and right should hurt. The right one is the worse. It pains from the top of the shoulder, down around to the back of the elbow. It's been happening for around two months and hope I don't need surgery. I've been bmx riding for over ten years. I've never badly hurt my shoulders before so it can't be a old injury aggravated. But I work delivering gas bottles that requires a lot of lifting with upper body strength. I've been doing that for nearly three years but I've never had previous problems during this job. So I hope I can get help, as it affects my work to a point but not serious yet. I can't ride properly anymore, and I need to sleep on my back.

To be honest they weren't actually painful before the surgery, just a pain to wear shoes and they were very bent. now my left foot feels weird and my right foot is extremely painful.
what to do? i regret having the surgery i want to go back to being my normal super active self. They hurt so much!
I sprained my ankle a couple weeks ago and everything is feeling great except if I sit Indian style and apply pressure to the outer side of my heel I get a very. Sharp pain that goes away as soon as I let off of it. It doesn't hurt at all when I walk or run and put upward pressure on the heel. Only when pressure is applied from the side of the heel bone. Any ideas?

View 2 RepliesMy doctor told me today I have a severe vitamin D deficiency. I had been to see her because of terrible bone pain lasting months. She told me this could be the cause.
I'm currently taking 20,000 units of vit D for 15 days, then down to 800 for maintenance.
I'm not expecting results straight away, but the problem is, the pain has gotten 10x worse since my first dose today, and it was already pretty bad. I can't find pain as a side effect anywhere so I'm just seriously confused as to why this has happened. I've never felt pain like this before, so I'm assuming it's related to the vit D.
