Orlistat :: Disappointed - How Long It Takes To Work?

Hi, I have been on SW plan for over a year and lost 10lb, yo yoing, I am 5 ft 8, and weigh 16st 10.3/4lb. I joined the gym 5 weeks ago and stuck as much as possible to the SW plan, but gained 5lb in the 5 weeks. last Monday (9 June) I started on Orlistat, drunk tons of water, kept up wiht excercising 3x week and eaten plenty of veg/fruit and healthy diet. I have weighed myself this morning and lost 1lb, I am so disappointed, disillusioned and actually quite desperate. The amount of time and effort I have put in does not reflect on the scales. What am I not doing right? Does it take time for the tablets to begin to work? I have read on the forum, these people with huge weight losses, what are they doing that I am not!

I have switched from being on 40mg of cital. 3 weeks ago I switched to Sertraline and have not really noticed any improvement. Still depressed, no appetite, anxiety and panic attacks. Seems like the medication is not working. Also not sleeping great so started taking Trazodone on 3rd day at 150 mg. do not like the feeling. I am able to get some sleep but takes awhile to get to sleep. No motivation.

Now on week 5 and nothing has happened at all, I lost 5lb up to xmas and nothing since, I go gym 3 times a week, I work out my fat and calories on everything, and have approx 1300 calories a day and never more than 30g of fat.

This is only the end of my 2nd week. My 1st week i lost 3lb and was so pleased. i was really good all week.....until Saturday night. hubby was home for the weekend and wanted a take away. there was no way i could sit there and watch him eat it and not have any. i ordered chicken chow mein..... it was FANTASTIC!!!!!.........until i woke this morning in agony, stomach cramps, diarrhea most of today
I'm really not sure i can do this. im running out if ideas for meals. i have 3 children and work 40hrs a week (like most people i know) i just find it hard. I've ordered a Rosemary Conley low fat cook book hoping to get some inspiration.

I've been on them for nearly 3 weeks and have yo-yoed back and forth. I loose weight then the next day its back on! Overall, I think I have lost around 4 lbs, but many of you are losing that, or more in a week! I am on very low fat diet, cereals breakfast, salad lunch, slimming world recipe for tea - a couple of drinks at weekend and maybe relax the food a bit, but I don't go crazy! I don't take tablet when I have no fat meals...what do you think. I also have underactive thyroid so I know that my metabolism is slow. Any tips please cos' I feel like I'm going nowhere. Getting abit worried about my first weight in with GP and worried that I won't get a repeat prescription.

My second week on tablets and i've only lost 1lb,not very happy!have written down all food eaten,tired to keep to 1200 cal and been very careful with fat amounts in food.

After 3 weeks I have only lost 6lbs. Wouldn't you have lost that on a normal diet? I can't help but be a bit disappointed. I feel a bit flat as I stuck rigidly to a 1500 cal and 30gram fat intake per day. Is it normal to have only lost 2lb per week?

I've been on the tablets for two weeks now. I've worked out what I can have fat wise without getting the dreaded side effects. Cereal for breakfast, soup and yogurt for lunch, chicken or fish plus veg for main meal. I haven't been having my usual binges on biscuits and sweets either. However I am a bit disappointed with my weight loss. I lost 1 pound the first week and two the second. I know any loss is good, but I have been trying really hard to cut back and lost more than this in a couple of weeks on weight watchers.
I have a lot to lose (7 stone) so hoped for more. Maybe my body will 'catch up' - has anyone else had this experience? I've been on so many diets and lost a couple of stone and put it back on ten times as fast as I took to lose it.

It's always film time when I crave rubbish and last night I craved and had an entire bag of foam sweets. I know they are ok fat wise but still full of kals and sugar.
I just want to do well with this and have really let myself down.

I'm now in my 3rd week of taking the blues and as i don't go to the nurse to be weighed or anything i have been taking myself off to Boots every Monday to weigh myself.
So i went on Monday after being on it 2 weeks - and i've lost 2lbs...
I know a loss is a loss but i suppose I just thought I would have lost more......and think im a bit disappointed.....
Is this a good loss or should it be more? My husband thinks i have lost inches though too and i could be inclined to say i agree but don't understand how I can lose inches and not pounds....

it has been several weeks now, although I did have 2.5mg 3 weeks ago as I had a severe panic attack and 1.25mg last Friday for the same reason. However, I only took diazepam for 8 weeks and no more than 2.5 mg per day. Apart from above 2 small,doses far apart, I have been off them for 7 weeks.
I have sinking feelings, cannot get anything together, weepy, and also have been diagnosed with Hemiplegic migraine. I am usually very together and was only,put on the pills due to TGA. I hope someone can just reassure me I am not going mad and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. So many of you have had worse than me.

I am never wet before my boyfriend and I have sex, and I've never had this problem before, but it hurts. After we get over that, he takes at least 40mins to come every single time and I get all dried out because it gets boring-since I never get close to an orgasm and then after I'm dry for it taking too long I have to wait out the eternity before he comes. I don't know what to do and I've tried keeping my mind in the same place but I stop enjoying out after I plateau and the sensation goes away. I try being on top or oral and everything and he just takes forever. Every time we start to have sex now all I can think is dammit how long will this last, and I am turned on to begin with usually. I am male 23 year old. I recently had a corneal laceration while playing. The ball hit directly and broke my eyeglasses. The doctor sutured the lacerated cornea with stitches and has put me on eye drops. It's been a week now and I still have blurry vision in the injured eye. I don't expect such fast recovery but how long can it take ?
Can anyone tell me if I will ever become normal or at least chances of being with normal vision again ? The doctor says it will be recovered but can take up to 2 to 3 months.

I have been on percs 5mg how ever many i liked a day for 7 months and my doctor just took me off and put me on Subutex,Baclofen,Gabapentin, Now I am done with all of those and now I am withdrawing how long till i can actually sleep and have no muscle pains and my life is back to normal.. I can't deal with this I have small children and it's hard will this torture end

I've already wrote a post below but just wondering if anyone knows how long the genetic test takes. I had mine two weeks ago but have now been told it could be 4 - 6 weeks. My bloods came back showing that I am anemic so my doctor doubts I have HH anyway. I have all the symptons and now waiting to be referred to gastro for my third lot of investigation. I am thinking the doctors really are not clued up about this at the moment.

How long does it take for the calf muscle to restore to normal following calcaneal surgery / immobilisation?
I've been going swimming, but can't use the ladder to climb out of the pool (had to climb out on my bottom!) was told it was because the calf hadn't redeveloped.
