View 1 RepliesI'm a 34yr old healthy male. I do not have Diabetes. I don't smoke and very rarely drink alcohol. I'm a vegetarian. I feel pinching sensation and pricking sensation (just like when we sit for long time in same position & get that sensation) in my foot when i travel in a cab/car & also rarely at home/office. My blood sugar levels are in normal range ( got tested recently). May i know why this might be happening. I'm worried.
View 1 RepliesI have had Hashimoto's for twelve years. Seems like my levels have never been "right". I've tried Synthroid, Levo and Armour and nothing seems to keep my levels steady. I went to Dr four months ago with severe swelling in hands feet and face and severe joint pain and fatigue. My TSH was 34. He switched me from levo to armour (90 mgs). The first week I felt much better but started swelling again and had terrible fatigue. Went back about two weeks later and he changed me to synthroid 150mgs. The swelling got a little better but still fatigued and joint pain is always there. I went to my gyno for yearly exam two weeks ago and they tested my TSH. it was .05 so gyno lowered synthroid to 125 mg and told me to come back in eight weeks. I'm feeling terrible again.. in bed today because of severe fatigue and joint pain and hands and feet are terribly swollen. Had anyone else had these symptoms with Hashimoto's? I'm wondering if it's the medication that's making me sick.
View 1 RepliesI've been dealing with dizziness, tingly/numb hands, shaky hands, weakness, constantly feeling tired, depression, memory problems, cognitive issues such as having a hard time focusing on things and getting confused easily, headaches, abdominal pain, bloating and cramping, lower back pain, knee pain, and nausea for about a year and three months. I've had a CT scan of my head, blood test, abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds and everything came back clear. I'm only 20 but always feel sick and much older because of it. Any ideas what this could be?
View 1 RepliesI have felt uneven for years. My mom has been diagnosed with scoliosis, and my doctors have checked me at every yearly appointment since I was 12. I feel uneven (like if you were to draw a line down the middle it wouldn't be equal), one shoulder (right) is higher than the other, I have neck/shoulder pain, and I feel like my right side of my ribs press are farther away from the midline, like my left side is pushing them over. I feel The only thing is that I am overweight. So I am wondering if it possible for the doctors to have missed it. I am 19 and I am afraid I am going to continue on without answers or being taken seriously. My parents and friends don't believe me. Is it possible I can feel scoliosis from the inside (the uneven feeling I have)?
View 2 RepliesI have had parathyroid surgery for high calcium and ever surgery I started having tingling in my hands and feet. Afterwards it spread throughout my body. I also experienced tingling on the right side of my face and also some dizziness. What could be the problem? Is there something I could do about it?
View 5 RepliesMy sons skin is peeling off of his hands and feet. It's not painful for him and it doesn't seem to be itching. It looks like blisters but there's no puss. Now his nails are coming off. I took him to see pediatricians but none of them knew what it was. One thought it was eczema but it was ruled out after test. I'm really worried and want to help him. Does anybody have a clue or maybe have seen this before?
View 1 RepliesSo today I had an appointment with an endo for the second time. He said my thyroid levels are not normal and has diagnosed me with hashimoto's. He explained it has something to do with my antibodies or something. Could this explain why my feet and hands are always Cold?
Anyway, they are treating me straight away for it.
I'm still worried about adrenal Cancer and cushing's. But he said that Cancer isn't an option. And my blood pressure was fine so he doesn't suspect any adrenal problem
I am a 40 year old male about 30 pds overweight. I developed sixth nerve palsy in February 2014 and it finally cleared up three months later on its own? In July 2014 I started burning in my left arm and hand. As time has went by until now the burning has got worse in both feet and legs up to the knee. I also burn in both arms and hands. I burn across my chest and left shoulder also some. I have had several blood test, MRI, nerve electro study. The Dr. Found that I failed my oral glucose tolerance test twice and a skin biopsy showed small nerve fiber damage. I am currently on metformin 500 mg 2 x a day and gabapentin 300 mg 3 x a day. The gabapentin doesn't help. I have taken lisinopryl hctz 10- 12.5 mg and citalopram 20 mg for several years, could the burn come from these medicines? Is it because of diabetes 2, even though my a1c has been only between 5.6 - 5.9? Any ideas on the cause or what to do?
View 1 RepliesI was wondering if MS could make you have tingling in your hands and feet everyday?
View 3 Repliesblisters on my palms and the soles of my feet. no where else. they don't itch, they feel like pins and needles.
View 4 RepliesBack when I was 15 I started fainting, it didn't happen often but it always seemed to be in the morning after a cigarette. I would feel myself going, my fingers would go all tingly, and it would work all the way up to my head and my vision would go blurry and then i would fall. Over the next few years it was happening about once a year but this time it seemed to be caused by severe period pains - it happened at work once and an ambulance was called and apparently everything was fine with me. When it was period pain related i had more the sweats that would start right before and my hearing would go all tinny.
I am now nearly 25 and like most young adults I often go out drinking with my friends. It now seems these 'faints' are happening the morning after the night before type thing. It's happened twice in the past 3 months, once at home and one last week on a bus on the way to work.
Once again, i get the tinny hearing, tunnel/blurry vision, excessive sweating and heavy breathing and then i just go, but on the past 2 occasions, i've woken up almost having a fit - but its only my head that is shaking from side to side and i can't control it for a good 30 seconds and can't figure out where i am and am so confused... On top of this, on both occasions (unlike the previous 10 years) i have lost bladder control.
As i was on the bus for the most recent one i was roughly able to work out how long i was out for judging from memory of where i lost consciousness to where i regained it and it must've been 1-2 minutes. I don't think i could've been 'fitting' that bad on the bus as my head bust rested on the chair in front and i woke up smacking it with my head (sounds funny now, terrifying at the time!) so must've just looked like a weirdo on the bus. When it happened in my kitchen, i felt myself going so sat down but woke up with my head smacking against my cupboard door.
It's a horrible feeling and i know by the sounds of it alcohol is the main cause but i have many friends that drink a lot more than me and they certainly don't have any of this.
It's worth noting that i have been on Citalopram (10mg) since August 2014 -although i don't think the dose is strong enough to make any change to my mood let alone any side effects. I'm currently undergoing tests for a lump found in my breast which has been ruled out of being a cyst so awaiting results until beginning of May.
Is this anything to be worried about do you think? I've resisted going to the dr's as when it's happened before and paramedics were called and they said it was nothing and when i fainted in oct 2013 i went to A&E and he said i had extreme low blood pressure and i just got up too quick... but other than that, all blood tests and BP checks i've had in the past 2 years have said im fit as a fiddle basically.
my top half of my leg has swollen it feels like pins and needles and it feels like water is running down my leg it is very painful to touch very lightly.
View 3 RepliesMy friend is staying with me and is feeling really ill and dizzy, his hands and feet are swollen, his neck is swollen and so is his face. His glands and lymph nodes are really swollen. He is really fatigued and has a sore throat. mostly it sounds like Flu symptoms apart from the swelling so can anyone help with an accurate diagnosis, he had his tonsils removed so it isn't tonsillitis.
I gave him co-codamol 30mg/500mg and ibuprofen 600mg tabs, he feels a little better but the swelling hasn't gone down much at all.
I have had some sort of anxiety for about 2 and a half years, and have experienced some awful physical symptoms.
Such as all over body twitching constantly, however for the last couple of months I have also had stiffness in my hands and feet and with joint pain and they constantly makes loud noise every time I move.
I'm a 28 year old male.
Has anyone have or had the same?
I've started taking 25MG of nortriptyline for migraines- my dosage goes up to 50 MG at the end of the week. The first few days of taking it, I experienced physical exhaustion and grogginess, as well as numbness in my legs, feet, and hands, but nothing too bad that impaired me. I also have felt more mentally focused. Any thoughts?
View 2 Replies3 years ago i developed muscle weakness in my legs that meant i could not take a normal step or raise my leg off the bed, after about 2 weeks this started affecting my arms as well meaning i could not lift my arms above my head, the weakness is periodic and last for anything from 5 mins to 6 days. it varies in strength, when its at its worst i cannot walk at all. the longest i have been symptom free is 5 months. there is no pain involved at all. i have seen various neurologists and had MRIs and EMGs, my reflexes remain intact, i have also seen a psychiatrist who said i need to see a neurologist.
View 4 RepliesMy 30 year old daughter has been doing this for the last several years. She can resist doing it for a while, but typically snorts every 45 seconds or so when she doesn't feel a need to limit it. It's loud and unpleasant. She says it feels like she can't breathe so she is actually snorting in her throat more than her nose. She feels like her throat is tight and not letting in enough air. I know it's bothersome for her, but it is maddening for those she lives with.
View 2 RepliesI am a 19 year old male. I have a cold sensation in both my feet and hands, this is accompanied by fatigue and heavy feeling hands making typing difficult. I also get relieved by a hot shower (which is weird as the sensation completely goes and this is atypical of MS). This generally causes issues for about 2 weeks at a time and attacks often come 6 weeks apart. I have noticed that sometimes and attack will start after a heavy night's drinking (no I am not an alcoholic and don't drink regularly)
View 3 Repliessomeone i know has a Bi-temporal Subarachnoid Cyst and i was wondering what would happen if the cyst was shaved off.
View 1 RepliesI have been experiencing dizziness and lightheaded feelings every day and night for the past couple of weeks. I already had issues before (for almost four years) but never as bad as recently. On top of that, my face gets flushed easily but I also get cold spontaneously (almost as if I have a fever but whenever I'm at the doc my temperature is ok). My blood pressure used to always be within the 115/65 range but recently it's been around 135/80 resting and can go up to 150/85 just from talking a walk. After walks I usually feel more dizzy, my heart races with any light physical activity (I used to be pretty physically active when I was healthier). To add to the symptoms, I also get visual disturbances at times, as if my eyes can't focus, and I get dizzy when looking down or following faster moving objects (example- I tried to play video games and couldn't continue after 10min). My sleep has been interrupted, every night I wake up dizzy and feeling uneasy, my heart rate always jumps from slight movement. All of these symptoms are building up stress and anxiety, I feel lost and hopeless because I am constantly miserable. My blood work always comes out fine, doctors can't find anything "obvious".
Just wondering if anyone has similar symptoms or would have any suggestions... To add to this, I am 24 years old, non-smoker, don't drink and my BMI is within range. Doctors have not been able to help me and most of them don't understand that this is completely preventing me from living a normal life. I get light headed and dizzy if I try to exercise, walk up the stairs, go in an elevator, turn too fast or sometimes it happens from just sitting and not moving. Usually my heart rate is part of the symptoms and it becomes elevated spontaneously.
