Nasal Wash Plugs My Head Up And My Nose Runs Constantly
Dec 26, 2014
I recently have had sinus surgery and suffer from severe Asthma, now that I have been getting Xolair injections my Asthma is almost non existent. My doctors say I should use a nasal wash at least once a day if not twice! The problem is when I use the nasal wash it plugs my head up and my nose runs constantly! Am I doing this wrong?

I have just been diagnosed has having Nasal polyps. My symptoms have been so bad that I haven't worked in 14 years. I have the usual symptoms of breathing difficulty, stuffy nose, facial pain & a post nasal drip. I also have other symptoms like dizziness/lightheadedness, blurry vision, pressure in my head. I feel like I am walking on a bouncy castle 24/7. i wanted to know if anyone else who has nasal polyps, has ever experienced any dizziness or eye sight problems. I have had my eyesight checked recently and its near perfect yet I cannot see properly.

When they say that your face and nose can enlarge because of nasal polyps, what does this mean? Face enlarge as in widen? Thank you. This is bothering me because I am already highly disappointed in my appearance.

I have suffered with all year round hay fever / allergy symptoms for over decade. I have had several operations and procedures .. turbinate widening, polyp removal, bones straightened .. some repeated efforts to no real avail ...
The side effect has been that my sense of smell is non existent .. I just put up with the alternate runny / blocked nose etc etc
The one development of late has been strange, when in the shower I often clear my nose rather robustly as its the best way to blow in an unrestrained manner .. I have now noticed that I suddenly get a very sweet flowery taste / smell when i do this .. My daughter jokes that its brain fluid .. hopefully not.
Anyone with any ideas as to what it might be?

I have had derealization, head pressure numbness, constantly dizzy and at night bright lights are very blurry and bright with halo around them, I have had a couple headaches also, this all started after doing a very heavy weight lifting exercise call deadlifts, ever since then I have had derealization 24 7 along with all the other symptom besides headaches I have had 2 so far, I have been like this for half a year 6 months my worst feeling is the derealization, I feel as if nothing around me is real like I'm in a cartoon and it gives you a spacey dumb feeling, I have natural high blood pressure and was taking creatin while working out maybe I caused a anyresum in my brain that deals with reality perception.

I have suffered with Nasal obstruction(breathing difficulties)and Nasal Drip(continuous mucus draining down the back of throat)for over 8years and have been prescribed all the usual sprays, anxiety pills, breathing strips, etc.
My latest consultant advises I need an operation to treat a deviated septum(restricted airway on one side of nose).
I was also told by one consultant that I had collapsed airways due to my age(70) and nothing could be done.
Has anyone had this operation, and if so, did you have relief from nasal drip and improved breathing through the airways.
My quality of life is poor, with low energy during the day and nighttime breathing problems that cause me to be awake most of the time.
I am looking to make contact with someone that has had surgery or experiencing the same symptoms as mine.

Two weeks ago, I woke up with pain in my left nostril. I thought it was a pimple and would go away, but the pain is shooting into my left eye and temple area off and on. Is this nasal dryness I am experiencing or could it be something more serious? It is strange that I suddenly felt it overnight. I have history of polyp in this area but wasn't big enough to cause a concern 2 years ago. I am trying to keep area moist with argan and almond sweet/vitamin e oil but hear that I shouldn't keep doing that, lipoid pneumonia may result in repeat use. Saline spray makes it worse. I will go in eventually to check it out, but this ENT Dr. I have usually blows me off. He is not the compassionate type and to see another specialist is an hour away.

I decided to try taking valtrex everyday as my gyn told me to do. 2 days into taking it I got another outbreak. One outbreak runs into another. I have very little time without an outbreak. It has become very depressing. I don't want to get involved with anyone as we could never have sex.

Last few months have been very painful for me for many other reason. My brother (28) went for his routine blood test and was found to have 10.4 cholesterol. he was advised to go to specialist lipid clinic. Initially was advised dietary change... nothing happen... was put on Simvastatin... had some minor side effects and was changed to some other medication..
His specialist advised all my family to have blood test. We all had that... it was all ok but I was found to have 10.6 !!!.....I (24) went through the same process.. lipid clinic... dietary change... another test....the result was 9.4 this time, which is still to high the consultant said it was "PFH" ... I dont f**king know whats that ... but he told me that the P stands for "Possible" and something to do with "gene" rather than my diet and I am advised to take Simvastatin.....
(Both me and my brother are non smoker, non drinker and have ok lifestyle and similar diet and have around 25 BMI)
My Concern.... If that is genetic.... it is with us for all these 24 years... and with that high level of cholesterol me and/or my brother should have had 3/4 stroke or angina over the years..... we both feel fine... IS OUR BODY ADOPTED TO THAT LEVEL OF CHOLESTEROL? I am trying to search answer for this ..... can this not happen ...

I went through a 30 day holter study due to what I thought were skipped heart beats. Luckily I had a couple of episodes caught on the holter and they were determined to be PACs. I've lived with them for a year and always just dealt with them. No biggie. But I fainted and had a seizure back in September so it prompted me to have everything checked out... anyway what I want to ask is does anyone else have severe runs of PACs? I'll get them for several minutes at times, and they'll come in irregular intervals... Like I'll get one on top of another, and then it'll switch to every 3rd beat, then every 4th beat, then back to every other beat... This usually only happens when my heart rate increases to above 120 and it stops when my pulse settles back down. I especially get them in a hot shower, or sometimes after a big meal. And I get them when I exercise and really bad during exercise recovery. I'm concerned about Afib.

I am 41 and for the past year I have been having a feeling like I need to urinate constantly, even after I just went. There is no infection, I have been checked/cultured on many occasions. Is this hormonal? Does anyone else experience this? Can anything be done? I feel like it is driving me mad. My only other symptom is more frequent yeast infections, which had never been a problem until this past year.

I am 24 and female. Lately, I have been getting lightheaded when I get out of bed in the morning, or lay down. Occasionally, if I am lying in bed reading or watching TV I will feel disoriented or lightheaded, near greying-out. I put my hand above my head, like putting my hair up in a bun, I feel dizzy. A few times, my friends or It's Always Sunny make me laugh really hard, I feel lightheaded. It is winter in New England and when I go indoors from walking outside, I feel like I could fall over. This also sometimes occurs in the bath or shower. If I am laying down and I adjust my neck, sometimes I get what feels like a headrush. I have minor jaw pain, that comes and goes, and is probably unrelated. I am overweight (I have always struggled to lose weight), but I am in good shape. I ran a half-marathon a few months ago. This isn't constant, I would say this happens about 60-70% of the time. I feel better when I push fluids, but it is markedly worse when I am menstruating. It's not debilitating, but it is worrisome.
I went to see a nurse practitioner and she ran a few blood tests - iron, metabolic, and thyroid - they all came back normal. She also listened to my heart, and told me that sounded normal. My blood pressure is typically in the 103/61-64 range. The NP wants me to see an ENT, but I do not think it is vertigo.
(I have always had strange bouts of medical mysteries that have all be chopped up to anxiety. As a child, from about nine to ten, my earlobes, throat, and feet would swell for seemingly no reason. At seventeen, my left pupil would hyper-dilated. Never figured out why any of that was happening. Last summer, I was admitted to the ER for having chest and left arm pain. That was determined to be muscle spasms.)
Does this sound like anxiety, or something else? I'm sure it is nothing, but my mother is a nurse and she is decidedly concerned. Thanks for any help.

I was wondering if anyone else diagnosed with ME is constantly thirsty? I've had all the blood tests (and have been diagnosed with ME), so diabetes is omitted. It seems to be worse on an evening and I'm always topping up my fluids with water and herbal teas-so plenty hydrated! It's not my worse symptom, but just wondering if it was common?
