I'm hoping / praying someone can shed some light on my extremely frustrating & somewhat debilitating symptoms.Approxx two years ago I started to feel a little light headed, I was working in retail at the time and the shop was incredibly busy (I have always worked in sales, so this did not phase me, what did cause me concern was how light headed I had been feeling) At the time, I presumed it was just a side effect from citalopram - something I had been prescribed six months earlier for feeling a little low. I did think it was strange that I felt woozy and lightheaded six months into the course as I had only previously experienced this feeling at the very beginning. I mentioned it to my doc and they agreed if i felt ready i should taper off citalopram - so i did. Slowly but surely i reduced my dose and presumed the light headed, dizzy almost drunk feeling would disappear - much to my surprise, i am still in the same state - blurred vision, wobbly, floaty and very very dizzy.
I have been to see my GP numerous times - my iron & bloody sugar levels, thyroid have been tested. They even sent me for an MRI scan and it all came back clear. My blood pressure is a little low but nothing too alarming and the ENT doctor said they couldn't find any inner ear problems (which I kind of thought would be the case because it's not a spinning sensation that you might expect from say labyrinthitis, it's more of a constant faint feeling)
It is a nightmare crossing the road or entering a busy supermarket. I am no longer quick on my feet and my memory is very poor too. I feel dazed and confused a lot of the time and extremely tired.
I'm only 31 and have a real love for life - can anyone suggest what could possibly be happening to me? I would be incredibly grateful as this god awful 'whatever it is' is really taking it's toll on my work, my relationship with my partner, friends and family (more so because there is no diagnosis as yet so I feel like people don't really understand what is actually wrong with me) every day I pray that this has just been a nightmare and I will wake up and feel normal again.

I'm a 21 year old male, I'm of a average weight and I've not been diagnosed of any conditions other than my heart working a little harder than normal in the lower left quadrant (birth defect) I don't smoke or drink either.
Around 3-4 days ago, I noticed that my ear and the right side of my head felt a little different to normal, numb I would have said.
Wen waking up in the morning, I began to notice a sort of ear wax like substance on my pillow, although it seemed to be more of a brighter yellow colour and had a more cheesy type smell to it, not a huge scent, but certainly different to normal (gross I know)
The same day, I started to get quite a bad head, however only on the right side of my head originations from the top of my head and to the right where my temple is.
The pain was on and off and seemed to ease off when I took sinus relief tablets.
Since then, I've started to feel a little dizzy and generally under the weather, my face is warm to touch and my cheeks are red.
Since today, I've also started to feel a little sick aswell and I noticed this morning when I woke up that I had a sort of swelling on the back of my neck to the right hand side just under my hair line, it's around an inch in diameter and doesn't protrude the skin but it can be felt if I were to run my fingers over the area, it is a little tender to touch and has no discolouration on the skin or any visible marks.
It's not solid to touch as such, more like something you'd feel after you'd banged it on something and it had swollen with fluid.
What I would like to know is, does any of this sound familiar to my of you?
I would like to add, that previous to this, I had an eye infection which I needed to take antibiotics for which hasn't quite cleared up yet but is more or less gone now, I also tried to clear out my right ear with something, so is it possible that I could have an ear infection that's spread and gotten worse?
Or could this be something more sinister?

Banging my head on Sunday I have called the hospital 3 times and spoke with my own doctor also had an eye test down, I told them i'm concerned of bleeding in the brain they all said they don't think it is that as i haven't really got much symptoms except the following: feeling slightly unbalanced a wee bit dizzy, a sore head when I'm lying down like its pressure in the back of my head, pressure on my nose area, the last doctor I spoke with said that it sounds like a tension headache even if I went to the hospital the wouldn't do a scam as my symptoms are not bad my doctor have me ibuprofen, paracetamol, diazepam and to continue with them there's not much more I can do now.

I have just started taking mirtazapine 15mg to help with stress and anxiety at work. The first few days were spent feeling very tired and spaced out but then not much of a side effect. However I have tried to work out a few times to help with the stress and each time have become very dizzy, headaches and nearly to the point of passing out (I'm not exactly a gym bunny but am used to working out and running 5k relatively easily- today I could only manage 3k!)

I've been on Mirtazapine for 10 days... at first it was all fine. I wasn't tired, not tomboyish and feeling good. For the past two days I've suffered serious diarrhea, joint and muscle pain and headache. Anyone else experience this? Does the diarrhea go away?

I've been on 75mg of dothiepin for 1 & a half weeks due to anxiety & mild depression. The intense anxiety (the sickness, feelings of going mad, inability to sleep, shaking) has gone with these tablets, but I'm feeling very spaced out and like I'm dreaming everything. Don't know whether it's the tablets or the anxiety causing it. I've seen a vast improvement in the last week, but I'm scared the tablets are making me feel like I've got someone else's brain & eyes in my head, very weird feeling! Anyone have the same feelings with it?

I've been on dosulepin for nearly three weeks at 75mg. Have had to reduce this as I've been completely spaced out, lethargic, and generally not feeling that great.Actually felt more anxious and depressed on this dose. It seems to help with sleep but has reduced by ability to play sport etc. Has anyone stayed on 25-50 mg and found it helpful?

I too have had a bad allergic reaction to Trimethoprim. Within one day of taking the first tablet I felt completley 'spaced out' extremely hungry but could only stand wet food ie soup or yoghurt. On the third day the itching started and a rash developed. Stopped taking tablets and the rash has got progressively worse. Terribly itchy sore and looks as though I have been scalded.

I smoked out of a bong this one time , for the first time and i smoked alot so i layed back and chilled .. after a while i started getting goofy because i didn't remember if i smoked or not and started spacing out , it was weird because every time i thought harder my heart would beat faster and faster i thought i was going to die. At this point i was only trying to survive then i noticed i started to feel sharp pains in my shoulders and the pain started from the outer part of my shoulder and would get stronger and closer to the center where my head was when i thought hard about stuff. When the pain got sharp and harsh at the center i would twitch a little and remember it was something mentally because nothing was actually happening and so now im scared to try ot again , is this normal ?

I'm 27y,male,weight 44kg. I've started to have headache after having a very tough semester at college 2 months back and it become worse 2 weeks back when i visited a neurologist who diagnosed me with "tension headache".
He prescribed me a cortisone injection in addition to 9 days of prednisolone (3 days 60mg, 3 days 40mg, 3 days 20mg).
The tension headache has gone, however, I still have headache on the sides of my head and behind my eyes, some pressure in my ears sometimes.
During my prednisolone course,I had severe depression, mood changes, anxiety (i couldn't sleep), sweating & lose of appetite. (I didn't have any history with these weird side effects)
Now, it's day 6 after stopping the prednisolone and i still have some depression/worried but i think i'm getting better day after the other.
My questions:
1. How long does it take for Prednisolone to clear out from my system?
2. Since tension headache has gone, why am I'm still having headache (sides of head, behind eyes & sometimes pressure in ears).

I have just started on the 30m Mirtazapine and it's my 3rd night taking them ans i have read up on a lot of different forums that there are patients gaining weight off these? well i would like to know what the odds are of gaining weight because i have always had problems with weight gain, i can never put on any weight, no matter how much i eat, i have a fast metabolism and i am wondering, will the mirtazapine surpass my high metabolism. also in some cases i've heard it slows your metabolism down too.. but it would actually be a benefit for me to gain some extra weight.

For the first time in a very long time, I'm finally in a good enough place to make the step in coming off my Anti-depressant. I've been on Mirtazapine 45mg for the last 4/5 years and before that a string of various of medications.
Despite my anxiety been kind of excessive at the moment, after a discussion with my GP, he was happy to let me begin tapering down the dose. The problem is with my anxiety I feel it mainly physically rather than mentally so it makes me a little oversensitive to any changes that take place in my body.
I guess what I am searching for is some reassurance so I can stop driving myself up the wall, exhausting google search on mirtazapine withdrawal. 6 nights ago I started my first reduction so 45 mg to 30mg. In all honesty it's not been that bad, a few waves of nausea, headaches and random aches and pains. Those I was expecting so don't mind too much. The trouble is that for the last 3 days, I've found myself a little short of breath for most of the day. It's nothing that's outwardly noticeable at the moment, but it's there and is slightly concerning. Has anyone else experienced this when tapering?
I'm kind of freaked out a little because one of my fears that's arisen since the mirtazapine is the that i will develop random allergies and my brain is wondering if I've suddenly developed an allergy to my meds (ridiculous, I know!) The other thing is that the rest of my family has had either viral chest problems lately so maybe I've just picked up that and it's a coincidence? Or it could just be the anxiety.
I'm totally spinning myself in circles at the moment so any wise words are most welcome at this point. If I know it is just withdrawal and nothing that can actually hurt me then I'm fine with whatever effects it throws at me.

3 days ago I decided to stop taking mirtazapine 45 mg but since then I have not had any appetite for any foods at all. Is this a normal symptom.

I was initially on(30mg) for 8 weeks for depression and anxiety. And I did start to feel better, although the blurry vision and the derealisation side effects started to make me anxious again. I think the light head was the anxiety not the tablets.
Went back to work and made an appointment with the Doctor to see if there was another antidepressant with no side effects as I didn't think the Mirt was working.
He told me how to gradually come off the Mirtazapine and then to start Those days coming off the Mirtazapine were fine and the 3 days I took nothing I felt great again! Well what an awful reaction I had to the Citalopram ! Heart thumping, sickness, mind racing, pins and needles, total insomnia for 3 days and the anxiety attacks were awful! I actually phoned NHS Direct.
When I spoke to the Doctor , he said that I had a reaction and the tablets obviously didn't agree. In a knowing smile, he said that I should perhaps go back on the Mirt and that I came off them too quickly.
I am now on no medication , but can feel the awful anxiety still there from the Citalopram episode and am wondering if I will slip back to square one again if I don't take anything. The Doctor has given me a prescription for 15mg 1 week and thereafter 30mg. Perhaps the side effects weren't that bad and as the nurse said " only got bothersome because I was feeling better".
So I'm thinking that I will go back to the Mirtazapine and perhaps they aren't that bad!

I've been on Ramipril (10mg) for about 10 months now and a couple of my BP checks were 140/90 which I thought was quite a good reading for my age (64) and better than the 170/90 that it was in the beginning.
I've just recently had a real bad cold that has lasted nearly 4 weeks so been dosing myself up on Lemsip Max. Only just found out that it's not advised for people on BP medication or with high BP so stopped taking it.
Finally went to doc for Antibiotics for Sinus headache and on doing a routine BP she said it was 160/90 and just wrote out a prescription for Amlodipine to be taken with the Ramipril. No discussion, no re-test. I thought that was a bit hasty. The GP who started me on the Ramipril took a lot more time to decide what would be best for me and to explain about it.
Took my first Amlodipine 2 days ago early evening and not long after felt really nauseous and sleepy. Couldn't bring myself to take the Ramipril as well so thought missing a night wouldn't hurt. Woke up in the morning feeling dizzy and disorientated. Felt "muzzy" headed all day. Took another one yesterday evening but still didn't add the Ramipril because I don't feel right. Have a tight feeling in my chest, nausea and anxiety.
After reading all this about Amlodipine I think I'm going to give them a miss and just continue with the Ramipril.

Whenever I stand up after sitting for a few hours, I feel extremely dizzy and sometimes my vision just kinda black out and become blur for at least a few seconds. I know this is common if you have been sitting for too long. But I have it very frequently, at least 2-3 times a day. I don't used to have this last time even if I sat down for quite a long period.
I have been eating well and sleeping well. My blood pressure measures 92/62 which I suppose is in the healthy zone. My family and boyfriend said I have lost weight, but I still look the same

I was wondering if anyone else suffers from dizzy spells? I was sat down in work yesterday (I work in a bank so I stare at a screen all day) and I just couldn't look at the screen for long periods of time it made me feel quite dizzy but when I walked I was okay, was wondering if anyone else also feels like their anxiety never goes away like it feels as though there is something always there, whether it's feeling sick having a panic attack or just a feeling of unease
