Recently when i start my menstrual cycle i begin to get bad cramps and it also causes constipation and discomfort in both my legs it makes it hard for me to sit still..is this normal or should i be concerned and what can i do to relieve this.
View 1 RepliesI am a 55 y/o male, in 2007 I was diagnosed as having a gallbladder problem and the specialist / surgeon recommended I have it removed . She administered a test that involved a drug being introduced intravenously while in what I think was an MRI tube. I remember having stomach discomfort (dull pain) as soon as the drug was introduced. The attending at the time of test explained the discomfort was expected and was a confirmation of sorts, that that I did indeed have a problem with my gall bladder. A few days later the surgeon removed my gall bladder and I was sent home later that day.
Five days later I returned to work, and I seemed to be on the road to recovery. I existed on raw fruits and grains and such,as instructed and was given a list of foods to stay away from.(Fatty foods, dairy , etc.) This is really where my story begins. The surgeon/specialist never warned me of the potential problems that I might encounter if I elected to allow the procedure, now I can't eat anything that doesn't cause discomfort. I don't, nor have I ever had, chronic heartburn, before or after the removal, but have constant problems with severe cramps, constipation, I have to take a fiber supplement every day lest I have excruciating pain passing stool. Of late I have developed a nagging dull pain that is constant just inside of my bottom most rib on the right rear mid abdomen.I have no fever, and no urinary discomfort or bleeding, I occasion have red blood in my stool.
My general practitioner has put my on OTC Zegerid 40 mg 2 tid, after being on this for months I can't tell much of a difference. However this pain in my rib is of major concern as I can't sleep. Can the Zegerid cause this pain in my side ? I am currently unemployed and cannot pay for medical care and I am currently uninsured.
I'm experiencing some pretty intense abdominal pain and cramping. It began on Sunday, I woke up to these intense cramps (which I can only compare to what I assume contractions feel like), they are bad enough to make me stop whatever I'm doing and have to keel over. They last maybe 30 seconds and they go away. Yesterday, I woke up with the cold sweats, I was clammy, a fever, body aches, still had those cramps, I had pretty bad diarrhea, although I felt like I wasn't...getting it all out. I also don't have much of an appetite.
Is it possible to have diarrhea and constipation at the same time? It's also worth mentioning that a few weeks ago, I decided to continue taking my birth control rather than stopping for the week to get my period, so that I would not have it on a trip I was going on. Could that affect my body this way?
Today I'm feeling a little better, still getting the cramps, I'm trying to drink as much water as possible. I still have diarrhea every time I go to the bathroom, but still I get the sensation that I'm not getting everything out of there. I'm not as clammy and sweaty as yesterday, but I still am a little bit. No body aches though.
excruciating legs cramps pain, mainly on laying down for bed time, starts and last even few hours, massage, hot or cold water, tylenol not working, suggestions pls (ps 61yrs/male) I m on high blood pressure/benign prostate/high cholesterol medications.
View 2 RepliesFor the past years, I've been taking 5 tabs of Methocarbamol 750 mg. along with 600 mg.(6 caps) of Gabapentin during supper and right before going to the bed, because I have not only leg cramp and spasm but also nerve pain on my legs. Those two meds. have been alleviating my pains that mostly occur during sleep, ... specifically during early morning hours before getting up from the bed.
Prior to those two meds. I had an excruciating and unspeakable pains that waking me up in the middle of the nights lasted about 10 minutes or so. Furthermore, the pains made all over my body sweat like taking hot bath, because of excruciating and unspeakable pain. Those nights, I self-exercised stomping, and often back and forth legs on hard floor in trying to subside the pains.
However, despite maximum doses of two pain meds., I still have been experiencing 'stiffness' along with 'pain' on my legs, some mornings before getting up from the bed.
Is there any good meds. for me more to manage and first of all control muscle spasms and cramps on my both legs?
I want to kill someone! I'm angry all the time and yell at people for no justified reason whatsoever. I used to be such a patient, loving,caring person who laughed things off and was the life of the party. Now I do not want to leave my house, I let laundry and dishes pile up Cuz I'm too exhausted from doing nothing. All I want to do is self medicate and sleep, but wait I cannot sleep I have restless legs and leg cramps and my mind is racing. I hate my job which has become too stressful to handle lately. Martinis are my new best friend. I'm lonely but do not want to date I have a 21 yr old 15 yr old and 3 yr old.... dad's are not involved. I'm unorganized and spaced out a lot, very different for me...... my doctor says you are depressed then I shoot him with my laser eyes and look for another dr.

I've been walking long distances my whole life and never had cramps before. Been doing some reading and so far symptoms fits cramps.
I have lately been walking really long distances on occasion.
I have the pain happening at night. I wake up with badly aching leg (calf muscle) and need some time time for it to lessen, sometimes I fall asleep seconds later and when I wake up the muscle is stiff and painful. It's also bit painful/sensitive at touch on other days too.
I have had injections in my back because i have disc problems. i used to suffer from cramp occasionally but after the above procedure in Oct 2014 the night leg cramps increased in both legs, which leave me limping for a day or so. I have started to massage both my legs with any oil though preferably olive oil or black seed oil and i have noticed a great improvement. i have not suffered from cramps since i started doing this every night.
View 1 RepliesOn Sunday night my left leg started aching and I could barely walk because it hurt so much, also my hip hurt at the same time and my lower back on the left side, I stayed home from school for two days and then tried going there but that made the pain worse so both my legs started aching, it kind of felt like constant small cramps that sometimes got more intense, in my left leg it's my thigh and knee mainly and in my left leg my shin, I had to go home because the pain distracted me from being able to work.It later got a bit better but at night I had more intense cramps in my lower legs and feet.Today i've been pretty well, went to school again and now only my left leg is aching but not as much and mainly when I put weight on it but about an hour ago the left side of my face started to feel strange, I can't really explain it..but maybe a bit strained and also it burns, my jaw feels weird too.My parents says that I should not worry because I don't have any fever at all but I still want to know what the symptoms might be? I am going to see a doctor asap but there's no idea doing it now since I don't have a fever they won't take me seriously.Let me also add that I do not exercise and I sit behind my computer a lot, so it can't be some kind of injury.
View 1 Repliesi'm 18 years old and on the first day of my period i have a terrible cramping, if i don't take nimesulide 100 mg when i feel the first signs (usual painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen don't do anything, even in high dosage) then then i get diarrhea and even vomit, and the pain seems almost unbearable. I'm a virgin, if it has any importance. Is there a way to stop this, or will i have to take nimesulide every month? (By the way is that safe to use it that frequently?) Even if i take it, it takes 1-2 hours to have an effect, if i don't take it early enough, then even more.

I've also felt a little light headed and my cramps have been pretty bad but different than period cramps. What is wrong with me?

Wednesday I started my period I bleed close to none but had cramps it got heavier throughout the week then yesterday I had bleed a whole lot in 6 hours after that one spot for 8 hours usually it slows down not just abruptly stop this morning I had cramping but it was different it was like in the middle a couple of hours later I had more painful cramps with it I had diarrhea heat flash and nausea then it just stopped I am sexually active and I just want answers I have been nauseous and at work I am usually on my feet all day and yesterday my back was killing me and that never happens I'm almost more tired than usual what is happening
View 1 RepliesI had the big cut hysterectomy in 2007 for uterine cancer. 3 weeks after my operation, my doctor started doing the 3 tiny holes surgery for hysterectomy for uterine cancer, but she never mentioned the option to me. Every since the hysterectomy, I have felt bad. I cannot lose weight. My back hurts, I cannot stand up straight without pain, My right hip hurts. I leak urine all the time. Low libido & I cannot experience satisfaction in the BR, I have low energy and depression. My legs never had any visible veins, but since my operation, my legs look like road maps of varicose veins. If I had to advise a woman, I would say do not agree to a hysterectomy.
View 1 RepliesI had my period 2 weeks ago which went for a few days like normal, a week later i got it again the same as the first time. It eventually went away and then it came to the next week...i had sex with my partner and after i went to the bathroom to go to the toilet i noticed there was light pink discharge... which then later on turned to red and brownish a little bit heavy. Now I'm onto day 2 with it and its still brownish and red very light. I have tender boobs, and mild cramps i've been searching the web to find answers. Ive also been braking out in pimples the last week and it's only just clearing up. Im also have the implanon which i got 2 years ago, usually u get my period for 2 days each few months lightly.

View 1 RepliesI was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and I have been taking Carbimazole since Aug 6, 2010, since yesterday I have been experiencing painful leg cramps (not the usual night time calf cramps) that begin just above my right knee and travel down to my foot sometimes 5 or so in quick succession - this is really painful :? and I wondered if anybody else has these or should I go back and see my GP?

View 4 RepliesI had what felt like ovulation cramps last week and tonight have vaginal bleeding, fresh blood not old.
I did this in 2012 after my mom died, was checked pap smear, uterine biopsy and I feel those hurt, it was all good, they thought it might of been stress related because it lasted only one day.
My abnormally normal periods were only 1-3 days, they were one coming in, one day of heavy bleeding, and spotting on third day. But every 28 days like clockwork with no issues there. In my 20's I was told I had endometriosis and when they went to do the ultrasound the cyst had went away. I didn't take it any further than that but never had children and never took birth control. Cramps were always very painful, had to curl up in a ball, always had severe back pain with them as well.
Last week they were like that not quite as bad but nearly.
Is this just a fluke you all think? Even menopause I had no symptoms, when I turned 50 it shut off like a faucet never again until 2012, and now.
I always get stiff legs/weak legs (it is hard to describe) when i walk past people.
I know they probably aren't even looking at me but if there's a chance they could be, I find it hard to put one foot in front of the other and walk normally.
Does anyone else get this?
I'm having a hard time distinguishing between cramps from the intestines/stomach and slight cramps from my "female parts"... Sometimes I think that I have a regular stomach pain, but I'm wondering whether the pains could be slight cramping from my uterus instead? Right now I'm most likely just passed the ovulation and should have my period in about 13 days. Would slight cramping during this time be normal for someone in perimenopause?
View 1 RepliesI've suffered from these for years. When I told the GP he prescribed 200mg quinine sulphate but I still had cramps - albeit fewer. so he prescribed 300mg tablets. I still get the cramps, perhaps not as frequently but it's quite distressing.
Leg cramps can be eased by standing on the leg and stretching it. Foot on the leg and stretching it. Foot cramps are quite different, my foot turns inwards and my toes turn position. Nothing but time can resolve it, my husband watches in amazement, as do I. It's quite painful.
A son says that lack of salt can cause cramps, might this be so? We have very low sodium chloride intake.
