View 1 RepliesI am 19 years old and was taking yaz (which worked very well in regulating my period). I happened to loose the pack of pills with two weeks remaining. Since then, I have had sex with him ejaculating and my menstrual cycle has not come in 6 weeks? Is there a possibility that i may be pregnant?
View 1 RepliesLately my periods have become increasingly strange. (I'm 22).
They have always been irregular (23-34) day cycles, 4-7 days long and moderately heavy but not horrible.
The past few months they have been alternating between 19 day cycles and 44+ day cycles.
Periods from the long ones start of so heavy that soak through tampons because I can't keep up with changing them for the first 2-3 days. I'm dizzy, nauseated, I can barely breathe when I stand up and almost black out even just walking around sometimes, intense migraines, indigestion, constipation, need to pee all night and my entire pelvis hurts, my hips hurt and pain shoots down both legs. My lower back aches but not horribly until after my period is over.
The short cycle is such a light period I barely have any blood on a tampon after 12 hours for the first 4-5 days and that's it, occasionally it will end in a single day of heavy bleeding and then be over. The pain is still there 2 weeks before these periods and is so bad in my hips that just standing or sitting for too long makes it worse, same with laying face down. I have intermittent pains in my left pelvis. I haven't been able to get pregnant in 2 1/2 years after having a child 6 years ago without a problem.
I had a pelvic exam done and my gyno said my uterus was enlarged and ordered an ultrasound. I had my hormones tested but they looked normal and I'm so confused by this. I had a csection 6 years ago could this be the cause of it since it doesn't seem to be hormonal?
Since I have started masturbating, I'm getting late for my monthly cycles so is daily masturbating a reason for my late monthly cycles ? What should I do ? What are the reasons for getting them late ?
View 1 RepliesIs it normal for menstrual cycles to be 36-59 days in length? For the past year this is what I've been dealing with, sometimes I will get a couple months where my cycle is 28 days but then the next 2 or 3 months it's out of whack again.
I've also got acne all over my chin, lower cheeks, and jawline. Before I started my period at age 13 I had perfect, almost porcelain skin. In the past year it's gone from bad to worse.
On my chin and neck I keep getting coarse black stray hairs that I have to constantly pluck. I've also got hair all over my neck that is so long I have to shave it. Is this "normal" for some women?
I also have those same black hairs on my breasts and chest area, not really patches but just random black hairs all over that I have to pluck (OUCH!).
My weight is also a problem, I was a small child but when became a teenager I started putting on weight, I am currently 5'1" and 160 lbs. Last June I put on about 15lbs in a week and a half without doing anything differently. I have worked out, tried to eat right and nothing will help me lose the weight.
I made an appointment with my doctor to address these issues but I just want to know, am I crazy? Are these things that happen to everyone or could there be something wrong with me? I don't want to go to his office and be looked at like a hypochondriac.
when my boyfriend fingered me last week , it bled , and i thought it's cuz it was pretty hard that my cherry popped, but this week, he did it again ,
and it bled again, and im really scared, i know it's abnormal but is there any advice or anyone who has gone through this that knows that it is or knows how to help me?
For 2 months now i have been having this severe menstrual pains but then there will be no menstrual flow until i take something hot to induce it. during this period the flow refuses to come out naturally but at times when i urinate the flow accompanies the urine out. please help what could be the cause of this?
View 3 RepliesIn this month of April I had a period that began on April 6th with semi heavy bleeding, and ended April 14th. April 29th I began a second period with heavy bleeding, and now I'm also having blood clots ranging from the size as small as a dime to as big a half dollar coin. What could be the cause of this abnormal menstrual bleeding?
View 1 RepliesWhen i started having my menstruation the blood flows plenty and last for Five days but for about a one year now i have low menstruation flow and it last for two to three days.
View 1 RepliesI recently caught influenza A and was prescribed tamiflu immediately to reduce my symptoms. I'm on my period as well. As I started taking it, there is now little to no blood flow. Can this antiviral effect my menstrual cycle?
View 1 RepliesI am 43 years old. I had a tubal at the age of 22. The last few months during my period, I have been getting diarrhea, very nauseated and usually end up vomiting. Why is this happening to me now when it never did when I was younger?
View 1 RepliesFor the second month I am experiencing abnormal menstrual pain. the area of both my ovaries hurt ... I took some painkiller to stop the pain and it helped, but usually this is not the case with me. Usually I feel pain the first 2 hours when I get period, and the pain is not so strong... I just have to lay down and I feel better. But for the past two months, the pain so strong I had to take painkillers and it is lasting more than 3 days. What does that mean?
View 3 RepliesI need to adjust my thyroid supplement therapy. I won't be able to see any of my doctors (GP, gynecologist, endocrinologist) for at least a month. Waiting list is that long.
I have PCOS and Hashimoto's (treated with T4 and T3). My periods have been regular (between 28 and 35 days) since I was 12. However, this month I had my period barely three weeks after the last one. It usually lasts for about 5 days, however today's my 7th day and it doesn't look as if it's going to stop. I've seen my gynecologist twice this august, and all the results were fine.
It's certainly due to overmedication. My endo increased the dosage of my medication 4 months ago. Since then, I tested my TSH and got bad result - 0,1.
She has decreased my dose since, but the result remains the same - 0,1. I'm aware that I need professional help, but I must do something. I can't continue my therapy like this. Any advice on how to decrease the dosage from 50 mg levothyroxine (T3) and 50 mg euthyral (T4 and T3) would save me.
I have had lower back pain for years. It always gets worse when lying down for long periods or bending over for long periods. I've also had sciatic pain in my left leg for years. It comes and goes. Recently I have started to get the same pain in my right leg. The sciatic pain as gotten severe. I also have some other new symptoms. One new symptom is searing pain in my knee sometimes when I'm standing or when I bend my leg all the way in. The other is sharp pain in my pelvic area. Are these connected? Can you please possibly tell me what is going on? The only notable health history I have is ovarian cysts.
View 1 RepliesI am normally extremely fertile. I have been on the depo shot for only two cycles. Due to having two kids back to back i needed a small break. Its been a month i have been off. The ovulation strips show a faint line for a day or two then disappears. I'm on my second bottle of strips now. I have had 5 occasions of spotting ranging from bright red to dark brown, and some have had clots. I have also had two occasions of mild pain and cramping around my ovaries but nothing yet. I have been taking prenatal pills for a month and started maca root pills for a week now. My mother went through the change in her mid thirties and i'm currently 34. I really want to try to have this last baby we want to complete our family before or around my 35th birthday so that i don't have any problems health wise. I've been online looking at numerous ways to jump start ovulation, but i'm sure my doc wont give me clomid. Is there anything i can do to help it along?
View 1 RepliesMy 50 year old husband has been a Type 1 diabetic since he was 21. It was a late presenting of juvenile diabetes or so they said then. He has always done well managing his diabetes, wearing a pump for the past 15 or so years. In the past week or so, he has begun to have severe pain/tingling in his feet/ankles - mainly at night when he is trying to go to sleep. He usually has to get up and walk several times before he can finally sleep - he is only getting about four hours of sleep per night. He has an appointment with his dr - but not until the week after New Years.
View 2 RepliesMy husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now... However, this past period has been very weird. I got my period the day after I was supposed to this month but it only lasted a day or two and it was very LIGHT bleeding and cramps which is abnormal for me. It stopped for about four days and then I started noticing small clots of blood and light bleeding along with lower back pain and lower abdominal pain. I made a doctors appointment and he did a pelvic exam and said as far as he can tell everything seems normal but would like me to come back and do an ultrasound just to be sure... However, I do not want to go due to financial issues. It has now been about 2 weeks that I have been having spotting, light cramps, although today they are much worse, headaches, and tiredness. I have not been nauseated and I have not had a fever or anything... Has this happened to anyone before??? I am just so worried that whatever this is will stop me from being able to get pregnant. My Mom keeps telling me it is normal but I am worried.
View 5 RepliesBefore I start I'll just state that I'm 19 years old, slim and generally healthy. I've been suffering with a cough for 3 weeks now, and it only seems to be getting worse. It is a constant violent cough, dry, but wet if that makes sense? I cough up clear mucus. It seems worse at night, I can't lie down without having a coughing fit and the pain in my throat and my ribs is unbearable I also have awful pains in my upper back, and weird shooting nerve pains in my arms. I've been to the doctors twice, first time he listened to my heart and lungs said they were clear and said I had Costochondritis which is causing my pain. Didn't say anything about my cough. So I went back to see a different doctor, by now I was also having pains in my left leg and googling this and as always it comes up with the worst case scenario... Blood clots which got me really worked up. She told me I didn't have blood clots, just by feeling my leg and saying it was soft, and said I have acid reflux which is causing my cough and all the other symptoms. I still can't stop worrying that my cough is something much worse and I have been misdiagnosed and there is something wrong with my lungs I also keep worrying about the pain in my leg, which is getting worse... I feel as if it was just brushed off but when I read online about others who ended up having blood clots their symptoms were just like mine and I'm so scared of this happening to me
I realise I have really bad health anxiety, but it makes it worse that I haven't even had proper tests or anything done to rule out the worst things!
I'm finding it so hard to deal with this, I feel like this anxiety is taking over my life Thanks to anyone who reads this essay of a post, I feel I just needed it off my chest.
Ok. So i have broken my fifth metatarsal and have been put into a non weight bearing air cast for two weeks.
Due to the break, the doctor has given me a blood thinner Innohep 4500 UI to take everyday to prevent a blood clot.
My problem is: For the past 3 days my calf (same leg as broken foot) has felt like it's been cramping. Elevating it relieves the pain a little but i am required to attend my courses at University - meaning i'm on crutches all day. Sitting/standing makes the pain increase. The pain has gone from mild to severe; i can almost cry from the pain coming from my calf.
It is extremely painful when trying to stretch any of the muscles in my right leg now, Should I be concerned about a potential clot? (I do not show any of the typical signs i.e. the swelling/heat/redness) Or is this muscle related? I have trawled through the net for similar cases but cannot find anything!
So this is an embarrassing topic to touch on. But due to my amount of pain and the lack of clinics open due to tomorrow being new years day. I will turn here for support.
Yesterday, I woke up with severe rectal pain. Today it has gotten worse. It burns, aches and is unbearable to sit, walk, or move in any way.
I just recently had my first look at it and I do have a tender lump on the outside. The pain spreads to the inside but most of the pain seems to be coming from that one tender lump. I cannot stand the pain. My only relief is a hot bath, which sucks to get back out of and Vicodin or tramadol which I have had left over since my kidney stone attacks but that's another topic.
The lump is not discolored or anything, it just severely hurts to touch and I have tried everything I have seen on the internet to provide no relief.
Preparation H, no relief.. Also have been alternating between Ice, heat and hot baths with epsom salt. Also have been using triple antibiotic cream, witch hazel and coconut oil..
I am really hoping this doesn't turn into an emergency room visit.
I just don't know if it is a hemorrhoid or a fissure or what the difference is between the two or how to even treat this issue and earn some relief.
I have had moderate to severe joint pain since April, and was recently diagnosed with Parvovirus B19. Apparently the virus can cause severe Arthralgia that lasts upto 9 months. On good days my pain level is at a 3. On bad days it will go upto a 6/7. Yesterday I stepped on a metal wire and it got stuck in my foot. The urgent care center recommended I get a tetanus shot, since I have not had one in over 10 years. I asked what the side effects were, and they said my arm would be a little sore.
Well, " a little sore" does not quite describe it. My arm was in excruciating pain all night and still really bad today. I can't even lift it more that a couple inches. Also, all my joints on my left side ( side I got the shot) were in excruiating pain 8-9. I just sat in bed and cried last night. I took 3 tylenol arthritis's and an extra Meloxicam that I have for joint pain and it did nothing, My arthritis continues to be really bad today. I called the urgent care and asked if I could come back in to get some medication to work until the pain stops. They said they could not do that, and that the tetanus shot would not aggrivate arthritis.
Let me know if anyone else has experienced worsened arthritis symptoms after a vaccination or shot. I wanted to get the flu shot soon, but I am scared now. Can the Flu shot make me hurt this bad as well? Let me know If I should tell the doctor and ask for additional pain medication. Or if the doctor will just tell me " No".
