Menopause :: Time Frame And Age Group?
Mar 10, 2015
if it Is possible to be more specific about the age range of a potentially menopausal woman? I am 52 now and think I have been and still am perimenopausal for at least 6 years and I am wondering if I would be compared to someone in a particular age group? Is it possible you can give me an idea of the bounds of a timeframe in which 50% of women will experience symptoms of the menopause? I have found statistics on when women can expect to complete the menopause but this isn’t the exact question I want to answer as I have still not been free of my periods for a year yet. I look forward to any answers you can provide to enable me to get a better understanding of this period of my life. Thanking you in anticipation of your assistance in the matter. Kind regard. Please can you advise if it Is possible to be more specific about the age range of a potentially menopausal woman? 32yo married male here, I foolishly got drunk over the weekend and gave and relieved unprotected oral sex off a female prostitute.
She was not at all high class and I'm extremely worried about my health. I have made an appointment for 12 days after this happened with a doctor for an std check.
I have 2 questions
1. Is this a long enough time frame to get an accurate test done.
2. If negative would it be safe to resume my married sex life?

I have been to Dr about my long list of peri menopausal symptoms.
My main symptom at the moment is the constant tiredness, shaky jelly like feeling whenever I do small tasks.
I am finding everything difficult & have to pace myself throughout the day to the basic things that have to be done. Taking hours to restore my strength after doing a small task ie preparing veg, cleaning bathroom, hoovering, showering, hanging out the washing.
I have had lots of blood test but nothing showing. My FSH is 15.5 Dr said it shows i'm not menopausal that my ovaries are working, but obviously at almost 53 peri menopause. Does anyone know anything about FSH?
My Iron is 29 although at the lower end of the scale not anemic. My B12 is fine.
I take B6, a multi vit, iron tablets, Chia seeds, Flax seeds.I have been taking Magnesium citrate for a week now & because i cannot cope with the tiredness I am going to try HRT (although always been opposed to it) I have to wait until my next period before I can start on it.
Does anyone know anything else i can try? & is anyone else feeling this extreme tiredness during peri?
I'm not depressed & have very little anxiety my only anxiety is could this be anything else other that peri menopause!

I always used to have a body temperature below normal until 2 years ago. I had a partial hysterectomy at 25 and I'm now 60. I don't know if this is the typical hot flashes of menopause because I'm hot all the time, all year through. When I wake up, I'm comfortably cool for a few minutes. Once I'm wide awake I suddenly, within a second or two, get very hot and have to throw the covers off. I stay hot all day until I fall asleep at night. I've had my thyroid checked. It is apparently normal. Winters are a pleasure now! The funny thing is, though, I don't feel the heat as much as I used to. In addition to this, I am now perspiring for the first time in my life as well. Any ideas?

I'm in the menopausal stage of my life and it sucks. Suppose I just want to know i'm not crazy by hearing from others in the same boat.
I just can't believe how much i've changed in such a short period of time. I use to be so social and always having visitors. Now I never want to go out, just getting to work is a mission. My friends rarely visit as I just don't encourage it anymore. They all think Its because I have a new man in my life but it's not even that as I just need to be on my own a lot of the time. Lucky for me my new man is so understanding and gives me the space I need. How long is this going to go on for. Would really like to be me again and will I turn back into the old me or is this it. Omg Im starting to realise why its called "The change of Life".

Why is it that I can have such a hard time starting a stream when visiting the toilet during the night (after having been asleep for several hours) and have little problem during the daytime when awake and alert? As I see it this has less to do with BPH than with mind/body connections.

There is a red bump that came up on my butt cheek it looked like a mosquito bite but got a few more around it thought it might of been ringworm bc it looked like a circle I scrubbed the area with bleach, I know that wasn't smart but it went away and let a slight dark spot on the area well the bump comes back from time to time in the same spot what is it? It's a Lil itchy only when I think about it but it's the same as before except it just had a few Little bumps around the middle bump.

Three weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.
I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.
Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.

I'm 42 and recently had blood work to check my hormones. My GYN said my labs suggested post menopause. I have yet to stop having a monthly. My periods are starting to range from 30-45 days but I've yet to skip a month. My husband and I were considering trying one last time to have another baby. Very confused

I had sex for the first time about a month ago, and at that time it hurt and I was sore for a few days but there was no bleeding. Then a few days ago this month I had sex again and this time it actually hurt more and I am bleeding a lot. I notice a lot of blood when I go to the bathroom, and I am really sore. I don't know what I should do, and if it is normal to experience this.

I don't know why it seems like recently I am having less energy. When I do go to walk around somewhere then I feel kind of light headed ya. It seems like once I stop walking then it will go away. If I walk around a little more then I will have that feeling. Does anyone know what would cause this problem. It's hard to walk around like this since I need to rest sometimes to feel better.

Is it possible to go in and out of depression for days at a time. I have never self harmed but I have thought about it, I just don't take those thoughts seriously and I keep going. I can't handle real life like everyone else. I get really sad and cry for days and then I come out of it.

I was diagnosed with Psychosis in mid 2006 which I also learned on my own that I was having Schizophrenia as well.
My Psychiatrist put me under different medications from time to time. Now I have a different Psychiatrist and different medication as well, I am now using risperidone 2mg x2/day.
My question is "Am I still going to have a time when I won't have to use this medication anymore?"
I asked my doctor about it even before and he tells me not to worry as long as I follow his advice. But my problem here is that I have been taking medications since 2006 and every time I miss out to take my MEDs for more than 3 days - the voices in my head always start to come back, and they say I had a relapse so i have to start the process all over again.
Will I be having this medication for the rest of my life? Or will this surely end in some point in time?

I really dont know whats wrong with me. I'm 24, have a good job and work 33 hours a week. I have a 4 yr old daughter who is at school and a partner.
I feel really down and upset most of the time. I can't shake it off. I'm miserable. Cry all the time. Have no patience. Want to be on my own. Don't want to be with my partner and been having an affair for 12 months. The littlest thing really annoy me.
all my family live close by but i rarely see them. I have a mother that chooses her wife beater of a bf over her children/grandchildren. I have a dad that i used to be really close with to now a dad that doesn't speak to me doesn't care. I need my parents support but i don't have it. I see my friends have such supportiveparentss and i just wish i had that. I know im 24 but i still need them.
I got pregnant at 19 and was not ready. My partner pretty much said he would finish it if i didn't have the baby. I had no support during or after the pregnancy. I used to cry every day of my pregnancy and every day whilst on maternity.
i gained 4 stone during that time but lost it after 1 yr on slimming world. The past 9 months i've been feeling lost and all along and slowly piled two stone bk on.
I wanna go to the docs and get help of to someone for help i can cope anymore. I thought i cud but i can't. I don't have any time for me. On my own.
My day consists of waking up getting ready and my child. Breakfast dropping to school. Start work finish work. Pick child up. Go home tidy up. Feed dog cook tea. Bath and bed for child. Cook our tea. Have a shower go to bed.

i'd tried to clear the UTI holistically by drinking gallons of water, cranberry juice, camomile tea and lemon barley squash, thought it was working but after a couple of days felt generally weak and feeble and my urine still tested positive for leucocytes and a trace of protein, so i caved in and decided to take the Trimethoprim. i'm always worried about taking antibiotics because of their weird side effects so i'm hoping these don't have too many, so far i've felt very tired despite having had several naps, i almost fell asleep on the loo. having eaten my evening meal i feel quite sick, not the kind of projectile vomiting i've had before with allergies but a sick feeling deep in my gut, i was ok after a light lunch so maybe eating little and often when taking these pills is best. i'm hoping these are the worst side effects i will get cos i can cope with them by sleeping all day for the next 2 days, it will be worth it to clear the UTI.
