View 7 RepliesI'm going nuts with these hot flashes, flushes! anxiety something crazy but have panic disorder, snapping,no desire for sex at all,and dizzy like all throughout the day!!i feel i'm going nuts! more symptoms but jeez im tired! !ive had all these tests to no avail.! all i can think is its perimeno or meno,as i had a hysto at 32 , started feeling crappy about 3 years now!
View 2 Repliesi think I've been peri for a few months now, even though blood test says I'm not! , I've had hot flushes, pains in chest and palpitations, first doc said menopause, 2nd said acid reflux for which I'm now been treated, but I know this can be linked to peri as well.
my new symptoms are stomach cramps like I get when I'm due on, but it's mid cycle, my periods have been regular so far, is this how it all begins?
Here are my own observations at week five into LH hormone therapy.
> After a faltering start I settled into three or so mild hot flushes a day with some at night.
> The worst part for me is that shortly after the onset of a flush my memory is impaired and logical thought becomes confused. I could live with the fuzzy feeling in my head if that was all. This impairment lasts about one hour after the flush subsides. So I cannot do much sensible work or play the piano without making a hash of it and frequently forgetting how to continue the piece I am playing.
> I have found the advice to keep cool helpful. So I wear lighter clothes than formerly and try to keep a feeling of being slightly cold. I don't like that but it is better than a flush.
> I have accepted the advice of many that exercise is helpful. Amongst other benefits it is held to assist in limiting hot flushes. So in addition to my afternoon stroll with my wife (I.5 to 2 mph) I now take two brisk walks a week on my own. (3 to 3.5 mph - I used to manage over 4 mph). Again picking up on advice relating to hormone treatment I have added home devised power exercises with chest expander spring and hurrying up and down the stairs six times in succession. Plus, pelvic floor exercises in anticipation of radiotherapy.
> I found that stress, warming exercise excluded, frequently brings on a flush.
DISCOVERY or just something I had missed.
> I have found that if during a flush if I do some exercise that I know from experience will be enough to warm me, when I stop I cool down normally and so cut short the flush. (I must cool down. If I stay warm the flush takes off again within a few minutes.) My flushes normally last about 90 minutes. For me the effective exercising is
>> six times rapidly up and down stairs.
>> five minutes brisk walking
> If I do this exercising within about 60 seconds of the start of the flush I avoid the memory and logic problems. (Any delay and the problems last the usual hour after the end of the exercising / flush. )
Does anyone use a similar "cure" for a flush? Does it work for anyone else?
I have many negative side effects from this drug. I recognise that some may be down to my having Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism but I think I am allergic to some of the medicine's contents. The medicine contains lactose and acacia. I know little about the latter but know that I have become lactose (as well as wheat) intolerant since being diagnosed (9 months ago) and given levo. Some side effects are - hot and then cold 'flushes', burning ears and lips, dizziness, continual headache. I have altered my diet and lifestyle to manage the condition as best as possible but cannot manage these side effects. Any help - or just sharing - very much welcomed. I wonder if there is an alternative drug on the NHS in the UK.
View 1 RepliesI'm looking for advice. My 60 year old father (who has had HCV for more than 10 years; previously treated with Interferon but bad side effects) finished his 12 week Sofosbuvir+Daclatasvir (considered same as Harvoni) treatment a month ago. Already first tests after 2 weeks showed virus was Undetected, but yesterday he received his most recent results and he has a relapse of the virus. He is genotype 1, fibroscan result 4 (close to final stage). He is based in Poland and I'm not sure if our doctors are fully informed of the new generation medications and HCV itself.
Is anyone able to give us any advice? We are pretty desperate and my dad is just so depressed as he thought he finally got rid of the virus (he got infected while on an operation in a public hospital) and now it is back...
Are there any specialists that you are aware of I could possibly get in contact with?
A few weeks ago my bf noticed some bumps in his pubic area. He went to the dermatologist and was diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum, which is thankfully not that big of a deal! He got his treated with cryotherapy. Around this time I noticed a few bumps and because of the area they were in, went to an OBGYN for treatment so my bf and I don't keep spreading it to each other. The OB GYN agreed that they were also MC bumps and lightly scraped each one, then applied an acid treatment. That was a few days ago and while the bumps are mostly gone, the skin surrounding each one is dark and almost looks like a scab in color. Is this normal post acid treatment?

View 3 RepliesThree weeks ago, to my great surprise, I started to bleed after one year. The 2-3 weeks preceding this, my breasts were so sore, I was bloated and I has the typical "stringy" discharge that I used to get before my period. I was really not expecting another period but the bleeding was heavy and lasted for just over a week.
I saw my doctor a few days ago and she that she is obliged to send me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy if the lining looks thick. She said she is not worried but I am freaking out.
Can anyone share a similar experience? I read on one website that it is actually possible to ovulate and have a period after you stop menstruating for a year. I have not had any spotting - just this one "period". Of course, everything I have read says how abnormal it is to bleed after menopause and now I'm scared that there is something serious going on. My ultrasound is booked for two days from now.
I'm 42 and recently had blood work to check my hormones. My GYN said my labs suggested post menopause. I have yet to stop having a monthly. My periods are starting to range from 30-45 days but I've yet to skip a month. My husband and I were considering trying one last time to have another baby. Very confused
View 2 RepliesI recently started to have sex with a man vaginaly, but the condom came off. He was inside of me for a minute or 2, but did not cum. The condom was not on any of that time.
He says he got tested on month ago and was clean of all diseases. I just don't trust him.
What is my risk if there was precum present when he penetrated me for a couple minutes?
Back in June of 2013 I had sex with a stripper at a strip club. We used a condom and to my knowledge it did not break. She was 19, and new to the club. She told me she didn't have anything and didn't want anything. We only did vaginal sex and unprotected oral, with me receiving only. We switched positions multiple times, and switched condoms twice do to the fact I had to go to the bathroom at one point. At one point when withdrawing from her, the second condom started to slip off but we caught it before it fully came off and still covered the head of my penis. We decide to stop and she just continued with unprotected oral. After which i used a Clorox wipe to wipe my penis off. Now I went back a month ago and they told me that same stripper was out for awhile do to being sick. I automatically thought the worse. Then when I went back again recently they said she didn't work there anymore. So I have gotten more worried . I recently have developed a rash in both my armpits, and they form the same pattern on both armpits and people say it looks like irritation. I have sinus problems , but to be fair I always did my whole life. I have had loose stole but again I have IBS, and I am on Doxycycline for acne. I am circumcised, and have only been with another girl before this one, who was not infected. So what are my risks?
1. Could the condoms tear without me knowing it?
2. Chance's I could contract HIV?
3. Is my rash and sinus a possible sign of ARS?
I had oral & vaginal sex with sex worker both with condom.
After 4 weeks I started with armpit pain with lump for two days exactly on top of my right nipple. I was continued having cough for some time, after 6 weeks I had bad sore throat with pain in neck, I have checked many times but I can't see or feel any swollen lymph nodes, after 7 weeks I started having pain in my groin on upper side but I can't find any lump nor any swelling. No fever for entire period but lost around 2kgs of weight.
I had a done tri-dot test now on 63rd day of my last exposure which came negative.
1.what are the chances at 90 days
2. how can I have risk with condom
3. Currently I'm still having the neck, armpit & public are & groin fleeting pain, the pubic area pain is bothering me lot. There's no visible swollen lymphs that I can see or feel, what could be the reason..
4. I also have fleeting pain in my stomach.
I'm worried that I had sex with my wife & she had flu like symptoms after 3 weeks, severe fatigue.
I had unprotected oral sex with a CSW . what are my risks ?Do i need to test?
View 4 RepliesI live in US. 6 weeks back on(August 24, 2013) I went to strip club. There the dancer gave me a unprotected hand job , I have also put my finger inside her vagina for 2-3 minutes. I was not having any open cut on the fingers(But I had a wound which was one week old on the other hand, which I didn't inserted).
No other activity were involved(no oral to genital contact, no vaginal penetration)
Now can you tell me what is my risk of getting infected by HIV ?
I am so anxious as usual and I took a combo test(HIV DNA by PCR & antibody test)on 28th Day post the incident.
The test result came "negative" & "non-reactive".
I am taking Cataflam. I am taking large doses for several days a month. I am interesting about cardiac risk regarding this fact. I have heard that this dosage can be very risky for me. To be honest, I am not sure that these rumors are true.
View 1 RepliesI just tested positive for gonorrhea in my throat. The test came out negative for all other STDs.
I had oral sex last week with a guy (I gave him a blowjob). If the gonorrhea was already there from a previous sexual contact, did that increase my risk for HIV when I gave that guy a blowjob (without having had semen in my mouth)?
My gf has recently noticed that her left breast has become larger than right . She is 20 years of old .Is there any risk of having uneven breast ?
View 1 RepliesHas anyone started taking statins or been offered them because their doctor has told them they have a 10% risk of Cardiovascular disease over the next 10 years? I think people get offered 20mg atorvastatin at this level? What are people's experiences at this level?
View 15 RepliesI met a csw at a Vegas hotel bar and took her to room. Asked her twice if she was clean and she said she gets tested regularly.
- she cleaned her genitals with wet towel and soap and asked me to do same.
- she asked me to put condom and performed oral for 5-10 minutes
- she asked me to get on top and have sex. At this point I was nervous: penetrated once for 5 seconds and again for 5-10 seconds and then stopped. Lost erection and asked her to leave
- after she left I jerked off with same condom, there was no leak and i put water to make sure and no leak
Question: she gave me condom from her car. So I am not sure for how long it was sitting in her car but it wasn't expired. It was latex lubricated condom. Is there any risk with using a condom that was in her car. It was sealed
I used same condom for oral and brief vaginal. Is there a risk?
