Men :: Lump Inside Anus - Polyp? Hemorrhoid? Tumor Or STD?
Oct 25, 2014
A few weeks ago while cleaning myself in the shower I discovered hard lump inside my anus. I suppose that it is on my sphincter because it is not very far into the anus. I was able to look at it upon closer inspection with a mirror and what I see is something about the size of a grain of sand and it is light in color. Is this a polyp? A tumor? I'm so scared of this because my mom recently died of colon cancer at age 57. I don't really have any other symptoms, although a few weeks ago I did see bright blood on wiping (but I think that was probably caused from chafing since I shaved back there the day before). There MAY be another similar lump a little farther up, but I'm unable to see it in a mirror.
Also, I have had unprotected anal sex in the past (with the same partner) but the last time I did that was April 2013. The person I did it with was tested for std's beforehand.

In the last few weeks I have discovered a lump near my back passage. I think it might be an internal hemorrhoid but im not sure. It hurts Underneath the skin but doesn't have any colour to it. It's about a inch the left of my anus hole. I have recently had a stomach virus so have been straining alot. And the lump hurts more when I pass stool.

For the last 1 or 2 days I have had a painful lump on the skin around my anus. It is about a centimetre away from the opening but still on the anus part. It doesn't hurt sitting but on occasion you notice it is there.
I thought it might be a spot, but then started reading about Hemorrhoids.
When I went to the toilet shortly ago after I defecated I wiped and there was quite a lot of dark red blood on the toilet tissue. The pain was sort of gone then, like it had released the pressure. I immediately applied germolene to it as that seemed like the best product to use from the house.
My questions...Do you think that sounds like Hemorrhoids? Is the likelihood it will go away on its own if I drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruit? Should I go out and buy some Hemorrhoid cream from the supermarket?
I have never had this before. I have not had irregular bowel movements, diarrhea or constipation recently although have had IBS symptoms on and off for years now. This lump is in no way connected to the inside of my anus. It felt like the size of a pea, maybe slightly smaller.

I have a small hard lump behind my ear and I'm terrified it's something awful like a brain tumor... Does anyone else have this or know what it could be?

last Sunday may 30th I finished my periods so on the Monday me and my boyfriend of 3 1/2 year had intercourse and I noticed that it felt like a burning sensation and it hurt I thought that was kinda weird so it stayed like that the next day and couple days later it started to itch on the top of the lips near the clitoris , couple days later I noticed a white crusty looking stuff on the inside I thought maybe I had a yeast infection i went and bought canesten but I haven't used it yet so Friday June 5 we had intercourse again but the burning sensation was gone but the next day I was in pain felt like I was bruised down there and Sunday June 7th when I went to the bathroom to pee I went to wipe myself and it hurt so I felt around and I could feel a lump on the inside of my lip on the right side near the clitorise it does not hurt when I pee only when touched and starting to hurt a lot not sure if because it's on the inside and always touching something I'm really not sure what it is I've had a boil last year that had occurred on the outside of the lip I'm thinking it could be that cuz it's only 1 lump and seems to be getting bigger and sore and the itch is gone but I still have white crust forming in the inside does anyone know what it could be ?

I have a lump on the inside of my thigh, right beside my groin. It's not painful. It is under the skin, rounded and has a rubbery feel to it but quite solid. It's about 2cm in diameter.
Does anyone know what this can be?

i have recently been worried because i have found a small red lump on the inside of my labia minora or whatever it's called... i'm worried it might be herpes but i've never had sex or done anything remotely sexual (im 14 lol) so does anybody know what it is? It disappears sometimes then reappears... i'm not going to post a picture because umm that would be weird but yeah. I've googled it and it says that it could be herpes but in all the things i've read, people who have got it have had sex so can someone help because i'm kind of scared that in the future it may affect me if you know what i mean...

I have had a hard lump inside the lip of my vagina for at least two years now. I can't remember exactly if it is longer because it may be. I always remember it being there. I don't remember it NOT being there. It's like the size of a grain of rice and doesn't hurt at all, there is no itchiness as well and no discolouration where it is. I can move it around as well a little but not much. Just wondering what this is and if it could have any health implications?

I am 17 years old, and am sexually active. I recently discovered an unnatural lump on my labia, near my anus on the right hand side. I have been looking into what it could be, but haven't found anything conclusive. Over the past few days (I discovered it three days ago) it seems to have gotten slightly larger and painful. Today I am uncomfortable sitting down, and am worried about it getting worse. I am unable to take a bath, only shower, and am trying to find a reliable gynecologist in the Pittsburgh area.

I'm 21 and no stranger to digestive issues. I suffer from anxiety and depression which I think helps contribute to those problems.
I was just recently diagnosed with Chronic Gastritis after an upper scope was done. I was also diagnosed with IBS about a year ago which is my main issue.
So lets skip to my more recent problem-
My IBS fluctuates from Diarrhea to Constipation. Mostly constipation anymore...
I get constipated for weeks. Just recently though I've noticed it getting worse and me pressing harder and harder to get it out. I knew that wasn't a good idea when I started doing that, but it's easy to strain. I know this is gross, but I developed severe itching down there about 3 weeks ago and naturally started thinking it was a hemorrhoid (internal). The only thing that would make me go for a little while was preparation H suppositories. So I used those and ignored it. There's still pain up there when I sit down. I still don't know what it is. I felt up inside and felt a lump about the size of a golf ball (maybe smaller) about an 1.5" up. This really scares me and makes me extremely depressed going through all the things in my head it could be.
What do I do?

I have discovered a small lump right on the opening of my anus.
It is about the size of a pea and looks almost blue or black in colour.
It feels exactly the same as a pea - solid behind the skin covering it.
I am extremely worried as I don’t know what it is. It is very sore, especially when passing stools.
Initially it wasn't painful at all and now it is. Yesterday I got it little open using surgical blade and small amount of blood came out.

For a few days now i've had this very painful golf ball sized lump on the inside of my left vaginal outer lip. I've tried heating pads and warm baths but it seems to not surface or go away. It is very hard and seems to have a fever. It has become very difficult to walk or even get up. Even when I'm laying down, it feels so uncomfortable and hurts. I can't even sit down properly.

I have had a swollen anus for about 2 months now, it was painful to begin with and then settled down but now there is a little pea-sized lump on the anal opening that is tender. I can push it back in and it usually come out on the toilet along with some swelling. My knickers are wet today, also with slight urge to itch anal area. What could this be? Is it haemorrhoids? How should I treat it?

I am a 28 year old male. I have a lump/cyst looking thing on the left opening of my anus. It was red in color yesterday and very sore. Today when I got off work, I found that half of it is black. It bleeds very little ( only when wiping) and I am not sure if it leaking some clear fluid or not. It is about the size of a quarter. Is there any diagnosis you could give me. Or possible home remedies to try and fix the problem.

A recent upper gi scan revealed a small polyp in the gall bladder. I know nothing about this particular one, although I know you can get them in the bowel. Will it need an operation ? Is there any particular drug treatment for them ?

Had the much dreaded Flexible Sigmoidoscopy today. I was determined that I would be sedated after reading the posts on here.
As it turned out, sedation didn't happen and I can honestly say that it wasn't as bad as I had feared. Yes, it was uncomfortable and it was weird seeing my insides on the screen.
I even watched the consultant remove a polyps from my rectum - no pain felt at all.
Probably the worst part of it all was the wind pains afterwards, which fortunately didn't last too long. I have no idea just how much air they pumped in, but it felt like a lot came out!
I guess I just want to give some reassurance to anyone having to go through this procedure. It probably won't be as bad as you fear.

In 2013 I was diagnosed with N.E.T. malignant of the ilium where small intestine meet large intestine. They found it during a colonoscopy, when they did the surgery to remove they found one more tumor in the appendix. The tumor in the intestine was 3 cm and the one the the appendix was 1 cm. The one in the intestine went through the wall so they took lymph nodes 12 found only 11 - 1+ , so they said they needed to keep an eye on me for 2 years. These are they results of my chromogranin test which don't make sense to me???
Close to surgery date when I had 2 positive tumors
Chromogranin A
9/13 53. <93
2/14. 97. <93
4/14. 76. <93
7/14. 60. <93
7/15. 92. <93
With the 7/15 test they found 3 enlarged lymph nodes around the surgery area during the C.A.T. scan but very slightly enlarged like 2 mm enlarged each not enough for him to worry. But he's going to retest in January, he said it might be just an infection around the surgical site. But he did a full blood work up and my count wasn't up.
During the 2 years since the surgery I have had extreme pain in the surgical site and in another site in there they've done all external testing they can but when I suggested a colonoscopy to view the surgical site they said my Oncologist said one was not needed to view tumors.
I asked my primary care doctor to speak to the gastrointestinal doctor and they refused to do the test. So I went outside the hospital that did my surgery they refused to do the test saying go back to the place you had your previous test done. So how do I know if this is from the surgical site or the lymph nodes since when I actually had to malignant tumor's my levels were within normal range?
If you need to know more please ask . At this point I'm having a very hard time trusting my physician care.
