Men's Health :: BLOATING
Jan 18, 2016
I am age 23, male, 5ft 11 and weight 11stone 11lbs.
I run or play football about 3-4 times a week each session around 30-40 minutes. I drink approximately 2 litres of water a day. My diet is great, I am eating granola cereal in the morning, brown pasta and chicken/salad for lunch and then for dinner I have chicken and brown rice/brown pasta. I tend to switch up the deals by adding broccoli instead of salad or fish instead of chicken.
My stomach is always bloated and it looks like I am pregnant. It has been like this for a good 6 months now and I have even gone to a point of hardly eating anything and it is still the same. It very annoying and depressing.
Can anyone share any thoughts on this and how I can get rid of it and have a flat stomach? I have been googling water retention, visceral fat etc and done the remedies for them for still no change?

I have not gotten my period yet for the month of January, only a 2 hour slight brown discharge...never missed before either. Being 49, almost 50 in a few months, I am not surprised that I have missed a period at this age. Really looking into peri menopause, I think I have dealt with it for years, but always chalked it up to something else.
Right now this is what concerns me.....I have had feelings of the "phantom period", but than again, the month isn't over just yet, so maybe I still will get a period this month. I have some PMS symptoms, but the irrablitlity which was always a huge thing for me has not surfaced, that to me just does'nt seem normal since so many women make that their number one complaint. Oh trust me, I had it all the time, just not this month....yet...lol...
Now, my newest thing is extreme bloat! Holy Cow, I feel like I am cramming myself into my pants, yet my weight has not fluctuated only by 1/2 pound!

I am 22 years old and for about the past 6 months Ive been getting REALLY bloated/constipated the week before my and during my period and it just keeps getting worse and worse as the months go on. I have not had a bowel movement for a week now. My stomach is twice the size it normally is and I weigh seven more pounds than normal. It is so uncomfortable and it has gotten to the point where I am scared to eat or drink anything else because I just do not think it will fit in my stomach; I think I might literally throw up if I try. My stomach feels like it is going to explode
I've tried taking a laxative in the past but that didn't help much (possibly because I only took one does of it?) and yesterday I tried taking a diuretic. The diuretic also did not help. I've been eating fiber one cereal for the past 2 weeks because I though that may prevent it but it did not.
Has this happened to anyone else before? Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do for a long term fix? I was thinking maybe try eating activia or taking Metamucil?

Does anyone else experience extreme bloating on trimethoprim?
I have also been prescribed it for a UTI, and only a 3 day 200mg dose. Does anyone else find the same?

So I am scheduled to have an endoscopy done on Friday. I have read all the bad things that happen after having the procedure. How often do you have really bad symptoms? Bad gas, bloating, abdominal pain, etc after the procedure.
I am really tempted to call off having it done right now. The pain that I have is not daily and doesn't last long. It is something that I can live with and wait out a few months if need be.

Me and my partner have had unprotected sex since we have been together, however this isn't a problem (so I Thought) because I have the implant and so far had it for 2 years .. I've never had a problem before but recently I haven't come on my period for two months, which I know is a side effect of the implant but i've always been regular with it anyway Hoyt I've been experiencing bloating, constipation, headaches, nausea gas sand and shortness of breathe, all of which I'm told are signs of pregnancy.
I did a wilkos own pregnancy test and it showed to be negative so why am I experiencing all these problems? Would it be best to try another one?
I've talked to my doctor and he believes there is no way of me being pregnant because of the implant however I've heard of people who have been pregnant while having it.
Im very confused and wondering if anyone could help? I'm also having my implant taken out on Monday!! Very undecided whether I wasn't that done now or not...... I don't have other signs like darker areolas or tender breasts however have had pains as though I was about to come on my period but I haven't and that was two days ago!

I am a 20 year old female who has been losing weight these past two months with the help of a South African weight loss company which specializes in healthy eating and life changes.
For the past two weeks the scale's numbers have increased rapidly without me changing any of my eating habits. I thought that my period might be the culprit, but the weight gain has persisted and my period is almost a month late.
During the past eight days I have experienced severe bloating (my stomach is three times as large as normal), excess gas, constipation, dull and aching abdominal pain and swelling around my vulva and vaginal entrance.
I am experiencing fatigue and my shoulders as well as legs feel stiff and painful. I drank something to help with the constipation but barely anything happened except for the fact that my body secreted a lot of mucus.
I went to the clinic to test my urine (I have a history of bad bladder infections - Was treated for it earlier this year). The test came back clean except for having high levels of protein in my urine. I do experience a burning sensation when I need to urinate.
I am currently trying to get a medical aid but it won't be activated before the first half of next month. I haven't had any other examinations done professionally except for blood tests 3 years ago. These showed that I have high levels of iron, was insulin resistant and that a few cysts were detected on my ovaries.
I would like to know what may be wrong with me and if there is anything I can do to relieve my symptoms until my medical aid can be used.

I was in an automobile accident the 1st of april and was healing nicely until stomach pain became unbearable. I went to multiple hospitals, had enemas performed, painful exams...only for a doctor to finally order a CT scan and xrays to discovery my intestines are extremely bloated and slowed to nothing as well as a kidney stone having developed....my question is I'm currently drinking mineral oil to combat half the problem, but I was previously told to take dulcolax suppositories and am not sure if I should combine them with the mineral oil?

I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago. Still have mega bloating. Have history of "bloating" as unfortunately also have ulcerative colitis/diviticulitis and multiple sclerosis (not sure if this is relevant or not).
This bloating is so different as usually when I have problems with UC or diverticulitis my tummy goes down after sleeping. I am a worrier (big time) has anyone else suffered with mega bloating - need my mind put at rest.

I've been bloated for a week now. The second day after I found I had took a trip to the hospital thinking it was constipation. They took X-rays or my abdomen and took my blood as well. Everything came back fine and he told me I just needed to eat and drink more and I wasn't constipated. So that night I went home and looked for reason why I would be bloated. That freaked me a lot so then I went to my family doctor the next day and he checked me and sent me back to the hospital for a ct scan. The results came back fine nothing was wrong. So I'm not sure what to do now, I have no idea why I am bloated.
Ps. On a side note I did smoke before this situation and the night before I became bloated I was vaping a lot and I think maybe it might have something to do with it. But since then I've been scared to smoke anything and I haven't in a week.

I had sex (for the first time) on 19 April, 2016. After one hour I took one morning-after pill(emergency pill). We used condom, and we did everything safely, ejaculated outside of me. Still for extra safety I took Pill. Then I got my period on 9May(19days later after taking pill). My period is still going on today (June 12), marking 34 days' bleeding. In the middle, for 2 days the flow discontinued for 26-27 May, then continued again.
Condition: No cramp, no pain, no other symptoms. just having light to heavy blood with Blood clot like dark things. The clots are now less. Why my period is long, is it side effect of pill? How to bring it to normal by any medication? I had irregular periods before (periods which occurred after 35-45days each month, especially during stressed times, but periods continue for 5-7days always, no other problems).
Would be glad to have advice on this issue. Thanks in advance

Wednesday makes 5 weeks since my last 7.5 Remeron. I am still having cramps and intestinal churning with trapped gas & bloating. Also, the Mirtazapine must have played a part in my blood pressure/heart rate, as I am having, since stopping the pills, trouble stabilizing my BP/HR on the same medicine/dose that I was using prior to stopping. I have been on the heart medicine for at least 8 years. The sleep is improving, and the Phenergan is helping with the nausea. Anyone else having GI issues this long? I have IBS, but this is beyond that.

I was told I had 2 cysts on my right ovary. Measuring 7 and 6 cm last year.
I was down for an urgent operation in April that still hasn't happened due to miscommunication of one hospital and the other.
Today I've woken up and my stomach has double in size in bloating and the pain from my cyst is unbearable. I can sit and be comfortable. If I cough or sneeze I get pain and pressure where I imagine the dust to be. I'm constipated and feel sick when I eat.
Are these normal signs from the dust as they have happened suddenly and I've never had them before?
Do you think the dust could have grown which is why the pain is worse.
I'm so fed up of being passed around from pillar to post I feel like no doctors are taking me seriously.

My husband and I just started back earlier this week trying to lose weight. I am currently at my heaviest that I have ever been 225lbs. I have omitted soda and alcohol from my diet. I have also been drinking so much water that I feel like I am going to float away! My stomach is larger now than when I began. Is there anything that I can do to get rid of the bloating? Or just do I need to keep on the same path?

Why is it ,that I have been eating fresh air and boiled potatoes for six days, I look ,and feel as though I have eaten three Sunday dinners? "BLOAT"" .I understand is part of a Flare side effect. What causes it,? it's not food, or poop. It's not painful. just unsightly Mebeverine will flatten it out for a while ,but it returns ,so it's baggy sweaters to hide it .that makes me look as though I've eaten four sunday dinners . Any suggestions how to flatten it, without using drugs?

I'm 48 years old, and had a ruptured ovarian cyst two and half weeks ago. CT scan shows I have two more cysts ... One each side. They are only small, 2cms right and 3/4cms left. My Consultant says I should have another scan in four months to monitor them. There are some questions over whether I'm menopausal or not. My GP says I am and blood tests have convinced her but my Consultant is a little hesitant and says it's hard to be sure. (No periods but have more a coil).
My concern at the moment is the bloating and loss of appetite, feeling full after little food, and constipation. My Consultant says that she will refer me to Gastro Doc incase it's IBS which has thrown me into confusion. From what I've read, these symptoms are typical and I guess I want some reassurance from people with similar experiences. And any advice on how long the bloating will last for -
