Left Knee Cracking/popping Noise On Bending
May 16, 2015
My right knee is facing my left knee and when I bend it there is a cracking/popping noise which can be sore. My right leg seems to be bow legged now when I straighten it now. I can walk on the leg but gets sore after a while.....

This has been happening for a year now. This ONLY happens when I am sleeping or laying down which is the same thing. When I go to sleep, one of my ears will make a crackling, popping sound. It will continue to make sounds until I get up. When I am awake and up, it doesn't happen. No sounds. Everything is okay. I already seen doctors and there was no explanation .... maybe etd. maybe acid reflux. This was not helpful. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Remember, this only happens when I am sleeping. It happens every night. When I go to sleep, my ear will make a crackling, popping sound until I get up.

It's now been 20 weeks since my tkr and my ROM is still only 78 deg. I had MUA 11 weeks ago and the surgeon said it was a success and the tight band below the knee disappeared. Within days the stiffness returned. I have done all the exercises and I'm now at my wits end wondering if it will ever improve. I went for my hospital check up 2 weeks ago and the surgeon said keep trying to bend it and he would see me in 6 months! Has anyone else had this problem?

My right knee keeps popping in and out. Also i'm walking on my heel because i can't put full weight on my right knee. Plus it feels swollen and won't stop popping in and out. No pain meds have helped at all. I have tried talking to the nurse. Going up and down the stairs hurts so much that it takes me awhile to get up and down the stairs.

I have been having a weird crackling noise in my left ear. It seems to come back when I wake up in the morning. Then it either fades away entirely later on or only gets triggered when I hear sounds (i.e. music, shutting doors, any noise).
I have been to the doctors and she looked into my ear, there was nothing wrong with it. I haven't been having any sinus problem. I have also cleaned my ear with a product called "Audiclean".

I have an ACL ligament tear in my left knee. This happened about five years ago. I was on waiting list & got a call to do surgery, but then I got pregnant, so I had to go back on waiting list. It must be a long list because I am still waiting. They have looked at it again because of the soreness around the knee when I walk. My doctor told me I have mild arthritis in my left knee now, but can still go through surgery.
This past week, I was in a situation where I didn't do much walking, laid around for most of day. I didn't have a pillow to use for my knee to be propped up, so I just used my right leg or had my left leg on its side when I laid down on my left side. I don't feeling anything around my knee now. It is numb! Would anyone know what is wrong? I tried to apply ice to it, but I can't feel it. I still can walk ok, though. Thanks!

Saw my workplace dr today for my periodic health assessment. He asked about my symptoms, I did the required weeping followed by feeling like an idiot for weeping...
He gave me a prescription for my sinuses, but was rather interested in my reflexes. He didn't say anything but I've had the Babinski thing done enough times to know that one foot was normal, the other was not.
Also, when he did my knee reflexes, my left leg shot out in an exaggerated manner. He repeated it several times, same results. My right leg seems like the usual response, the left was crazy. The left leg has been my 'bad leg' with spasticity etc. He asked me if this was usual, and I said I didn't think so.
He was kind, gave me the usual spiel about neurological issues taking a long time to present, bladdy blah blah blah.
So there you have it, one more 'symptom'.
Dreading the Spring, but trying to stay positive.

It has been nearly ten months now since my first TKR, and the left side of my calf remains NUMB. I am not experiencing this on my right leg on which I had my TKR about five months ago.
Will the numbness always be there?
Why such a difference between legs/numbness?
I have no difficulty MOVING either leg/knee, but the NUMB feeling just feels so weird!

I have a hard lump just below and on the right of my left knee slightly bigger than a golf ball. It feels like a bone but i don't have one on the other knee. It doesn't hurt but it is noticeable especially when my leg is straight. Any ideas on what it is?

I'm freaking out so I'll try to make sense. I woke up this morning with a stinging pain in the back of my left knee and I read that this might be a symptom of Deep Vein Thrombosis and it has scared me. I had blood tests done a month ago and they all came back clear. I don't sit too long, don't travel on planes and have no prior family history of clots if that helps.

For about 7 or 8 months I have been cracking the joints and knuckles in my fingers. Now when I lower my middle finger on my left hand there is a little pop and the finger moves down a bit. And since i had also been cracking my toes the toes on my right foot make a pop too. I am kinda worried because I am only 13.

I made the mistake to have unprotected sex with a girl I met in my school, (only for about 2 minutes then we put on a condom) and about 2-3 weeks later the area around my penis started to itch and the skin to crack, the cracking looks something like lips crack when you spend too much time in cold weather and the skin is peeling like scales, the head of my penis doesn't seem to be affected(not circumcised), it's enough to masturbate two days in a row or scratch too much and the skin will crack, it's been almost 2 months since I had sex and it's quite frustrating, me and my girlfriend been together for a month now and I'm trying not to have sex with her until I fix this because I don't want her to get this too.....

Well since I was about 16 I've been cracking my knuckles (nearly 10 years) although I've noticed the last couple of years it's been quite a lot more frequent.
I started when a friend of mine (at the time) used to do it all the time and I was curious as to why/how he did it and well it's been around ever since.

So I dislocated my knee in January of this year. I was given a device that isolates my knee cap and hold it in place. I wore the device off and on over the year whenever my knee would feel sort of irregular. I worked out routinely to help strengthen my knee, it helped the pain somewhat, but mostly just made me feel better about the way I looked, and kept me healthy. I haven't worked out since some time before Thanksgiving. Starting this week i've started to feel this new akward feeling behind my kneecap, sort of like the ligament behind my knee cap is tightening, sort of similar to how it felt when I dislocated my knee, but not exactly the same. I get the pain after fully bending my knee, for example when I am on my knees doing my job stocking shelves at work, when I stand to my feet I can usually feel the pain. I try doing a couple of different stretches when to make the feeling go away a bit, but it comes back, and then it eventually goes away again.
My knee "pops" (makes a loud popping noise and pressure) pretty regularly now but when I get off of work and off of my knees I experience the discomfort much less. I want to start exercising again on Monday, but I am scared I might dislocate again. I will try using the knee cap device again tomorrow, but I feel as though whenever I use the device, it makes my knee feel like jello the next day, and make me want to use the device again, even though I was advised by my doctor that I should not need to use it regularly. ....

About 3 Months ago i experienced some discomfort after going to the toilet (#2's), and noticed i had a small lump just outside my anus. It seemed like it went away, but everytime i go #2's it comes back out. Recently it's gotten a fair bit larger, and i believe there's a second one there too. Today, it seems like the larger one doesn't go back in, so it's constantly outside my anus and constantly hurts because it's chaffing between my bottom.. I haven't noticed any bleeding, and it is usually pain free because it goes back into my anus.
The lumps aren't overly hard, i can put a bit of pressure on them by squeezing, but i haven't tried to pop them or anything like that, afraid what may happen.

Wondered if anyone can give me any advice. my 9 year old says that his ears have never cleared after a long haul flight over a year ago. he says that when they pop he hears clearly for a bit then they block back up again. he says that he feels like he's underwater and sometimes gets dizzy, he can also hear them crunching when he moves jaw. i've taken him to the doctors and she looked in ears and said they were both clear and that was that. so no solution ....

I find it so difficult to describe my ear /nose/Jaw/ throat problem ( I really don’t know what the problem is)! But ill try. So Ive been suffering for 11 years, I am a 30 year old female. When I was 17 I had a jaw operation as I had an under bite ( they moved the bottom jaw back and screwed it into place). All went well, then when I was 19 I took a flight to Ireland with a bad cold, when I hopped off the plane I felt like my ears needed to pop so I held my nose and tried to make them pop. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! For a few days both ears were completely blocked up,could barely hear. Then it kind of cleared of sorts but left me with this weird popping, gurgle, crackle, feeling of fullness in both ears. Over the years I have seen a number of ENT’s, one gave me grommets, didn’t work. Others are just at a loss as to what it could be!
Ill try and describe my issue a bit more, so ITS CONSTANT, day in day out, im forever holding my nose and softly pushing the air out to no relief I just feel like almost a suction of crap going up and down against my eardrum, Its like it almost wants to pop and let a stream of fluid come flowing out both my ears, but it never happens. An ENT told me that my ears were in fact ‘popping’ but to me it doesn’t feel like it. When I do this the noise is intense, Ive had family members come close to me and they can actually hear the noise! They think its gross lol Sometimes it even makes a weird squeaking noise, its disturbing! Funnily enough when I get a cold, the symptoms improve to an extent (maybe its just because I'm too busy feeling sorry for myself)
Anyway if I breath in quickly and hard through my nose its like it pushes the air/fluid/ whatever it is up against my eardrum and causes intense pressure in the area, but I can breath through my nose gently with no real noise. Then if I swallow or open my jaw it pops releases the pressure BUT then the fluid/air just settles back to the normal position and when I swallow, yawn, move Jaw, or even just breath I have the weird crackle/pop/ear fullness……….It drives me insane! Also one ear will feel worse than the other at any given time, its almost like the air/fluid can move from left to right up to about 10 times a day! I know I sound crazy, my ex fianc tried to tell me its all in my head, I know im not crazy I just hope I don’t have to live with this forever!
I also notice that I clench my jaw a lot and apparently I grind my teeth.
I constantly have theories on what it is and they chop and change. Maybe I have enlarged adenoids, maybe its ETD, maybe its TMJD, maybe I have s**t stuck near my soft palate or maybe its something else……..I also always feel like I have a lot of post nasal drip and my throat gets sore easily and almost feels like its swollen at times. I have tried every nose spray, steroid etc you name it Ive tried it.
Lately I wonder if I should try some natural therapy like acupuncture or maybe a chiropractor or physio….Im hesitant to go back to another ENT as I always feel so disheartened when they tell me there is nothing they can do.
