Have you found one that really helps your pain? I have bone on bone in one knee and I have purchased 2 at Walgreens, but they don't do much except annoy me.

View 1 RepliesI am a 31 year old female about to have a TKR due to severe arthritis caused by PVNS. Currently I have very weak quads and calves in my bad knee from major loss of knee extension. I've heard that it's really hard to go into replacement surgery with weak muscles. I was wondering if I should get a knee brace for after surgery to help with some support until I get my strength back? Has anyone tried these webbing braces and if so do they help? I know some of the immobilizing braces actually cause atrophy.
View 8 RepliesI'm 17 years old I've played volleyball basketball and track my whole high school career and I've always had problems with my knees and ankles but I've been going to the doctor for my knees for like 2 years now and I've had like 3 MRIs they never tell me anything I've tried braces but they don't work. My left knee is way worse than my right but they both hurt. It started out feeling like I just had to crack my knee like if you straighten your elbow and it cracks but then it progressed and know it hurts extremely bad when I start running and I can't stand up after sitting like straightening them hurts horribly bad. Sometimes while I'm sitting they ache and I feel like it's on the inner side of my knee and on my left knee it's on the left side inside and if I go on my tip toe it hurts really bad like a shooting pain kind of it's like a line kinda. And it's also worse when they're cold like I have to drive with the heat on them even when it's 80 degrees outside.
View 2 RepliesSo I dislocated my knee in January of this year. I was given a device that isolates my knee cap and hold it in place. I wore the device off and on over the year whenever my knee would feel sort of irregular. I worked out routinely to help strengthen my knee, it helped the pain somewhat, but mostly just made me feel better about the way I looked, and kept me healthy. I haven't worked out since some time before Thanksgiving. Starting this week i've started to feel this new akward feeling behind my kneecap, sort of like the ligament behind my knee cap is tightening, sort of similar to how it felt when I dislocated my knee, but not exactly the same. I get the pain after fully bending my knee, for example when I am on my knees doing my job stocking shelves at work, when I stand to my feet I can usually feel the pain. I try doing a couple of different stretches when to make the feeling go away a bit, but it comes back, and then it eventually goes away again.
My knee "pops" (makes a loud popping noise and pressure) pretty regularly now but when I get off of work and off of my knees I experience the discomfort much less. I want to start exercising again on Monday, but I am scared I might dislocate again. I will try using the knee cap device again tomorrow, but I feel as though whenever I use the device, it makes my knee feel like jello the next day, and make me want to use the device again, even though I was advised by my doctor that I should not need to use it regularly. ....
I have now developed a knee Effusion and have tremendous pain. Put onto Celebrex. Do I use crutches again or strap knee? Doctor says i need to rest it as much as possible
View 3 RepliesI was diagnosed with peripheral polyneuropathy 11 years ago. I take 300mg lyrica/day 60mg duloxetine/day and now they want me to take an opiate nucynta to manage my pain since I have trouble with pain. I live in California and recently got my MM license and obtained some Charlotte's web which is suppose to help with pain. Helps a little but pain killers work better. A friend of mine had me smoke some pot by way of vaporizing and it actually took my pain spike away for about 5 hours. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm afraid of what vaporizing cannabis could do to my health. However I feel like I actually have found a way to reduce my intake of meds and much more affordable.
View 2 RepliesHow is it that most of you say walking helps you get rid of the pain? If I walk for 20-30 mins I have pain which takes ages to clear up - sometimes into the next day, or even the day after (and it has since the PMR started). Exercise is good for you! OK, I know that, but what do you do if you get more and more pain by doing it?

View 2 RepliesI am 25 year old IT engineer facing knee pain along with other spine problems. I have been diagnosed as cervical spondylosis around 8 month back so i was taking physio therapy session since then. During those session i was getting some pain in my right leg knee which i ignored as i have bigger problem to be taken care of. Over the time it increased and since 2 month i am feeling pain while exercising for cervical and when i walk (sometime unbearable ) so I started physio therapy for that too but not getting satisfactory results. In addition to that I was swimming for subsiding my neck , left hand and knee pain but unluckly i got pain in my lower back pain due to swimming which was getting increasing day by day so i started physio therapy for that. I am doing physio therapy for neck , left hand, back and knee. I am very dishearten as suffering from neck , left hand pain with lower back pain and that extra pain has added. Could someone please let me know whether i will be get recovered from that painful life ever?
View 1 RepliesI'm a Vietnamese 44 years-old man. From 03 weeks ago, I have a serious pain at right knee when feeling to urinate. I try my best to urinate a little, then the pain shall be shortened. It ends when I complete urination. I already have necessary tests for urination & kidney, all are OK. The doctors also have no idea about this. They are laughing when listening to my explanations
Do you have any idea for my case? I've just want to know what is it.

View 39 RepliesI jogged for the first time in years yesterday evening. I jogged less than a mile, and felt fine after. I went to bed, slept through the night, then this morning as I got out of bed, my knee popped and my leg collapsed downward causing me to fall to my knees. Since then, my knee is swollen, weak and when I try to bear weight I get a sharp sting and then the leg collapses. Any thoughts? 35 male with history or torn meniscus x3 --the sep surgeries but they were all more than 10 years ago.
View 5 RepliesI have torn my meniscus twice in my right knee. The most recent tear was a little over a month ago. I had surgery, but my knee still hurts. Several years ago I slipped and fell. I went to the doc and without tuning any test he told me it was a bad sprain. I went back once a month for 6 months and told me the same thing. I kept going back because my ankle never got any better. The swelling never went down. After 6 months it stopped hurting. Now it pops every time I move it. I went to a new doc about it and after running some tests he informed me that I had torn everything in my ankle. However, it had healed already. It heal wrong, but it had healed. Could my ankle problems be apart of my knee problems? My ankle doesn't hurt. It just pops all the time. My wife calls it Rice Krispy cause she says it snap crackle and pop all the time.
View 3 RepliesI had a partial knee replacement 8 weeks ago n the medial side. The first month or so pain was tolerable, I figured it was healing pain. Since then the pain has become increasingly worse. I had talk to the doc twice and was told that if it does not look infected not to worry pain is a normal part of recovery. My next follow up is this week. I still go to pt 3 x week, they say it is healing great looks great and pain is normal. So my question is how much pain is normal. I feel like it is pinching below and to the side of the replacement. Today my knee completely gave away and scared me. Has any experienced this and does it sound normal.
View 2 RepliesAre braces beneficial for Spondylosis? Or do they inhibit core strength?
View 2 RepliesStarting about a year ago, sometimes when I wake up in the morning my leg is bent and it causes extreme pain at the top of my knee to straighten it. It generally takes several minutes for me to straighten it out. But once I get it straight I can bend it again and straighten it again with no pain or stiffness. I sleep on my stomach so I always thought it was blood loss in my knee from sleeping at an odd angle. But i have injured my knee before (strained) and arthritis does run in the family. It only happens with the one knee. Is this something I should see a doctor about?
View 1 RepliesOn Feb 7th I was involved in a pedestrian vs auto. I was the pedestrian hit at about 45 mph and had multi system trauma. I had a right comminuted displaced proximal Tib Fib Fx which was repaired with an IM rod. I have a lot of knee pain, leg pain, and my knee pops in and out. I still have a lot of pain and difficulty walking at times. It is painful to extend my leg. Is this to be expected? Do you ever remove IM rods?
View 2 RepliesHad a dislocated knee for years. Sever pain is getting worse. What's the most damage im looking at.
View 3 RepliesI am a 43 year old male and have been experiencing knee pain for about 5 months now. I didn't really notice something was wrong until December last year when I started going on long country walks and after walking a mile or two, a mild pain started to develop in my right knee, which gradually got worse the more I walked. I would say the pain feels like it's coming from under the kneecap close to the surface of the skin. It's definitely not coming from within the knee bone. I find after sitting down the pain eventually goes away. I can walk fine and don't have any other pain in either knee in general day to day activities. It's only when I start walking long distances that the pain in my right knee comes on. My health in general is good and don't suffer from any health issues. I wanted to see if the knee would improve over the 5 months or go back to normal but it hasn't and has stayed the same since December. Could anyone give me an idea what might be causing this? I have not seen a doctor yet but will now make an appointment first thing Monday morning.
