i have an irregular period cycle Some months it comes the same date as the last month and sometimes it will come before and my period only last 4 days does this mean. i can't become pregnant ?

It is “normal” for me to miss a month here and there, I don’t have a set cycle length and even for a few months last year, I had periods every two weeks. I am now 19 and have not had a period since November and there is 0% chance of me being pregnant. Is it likely to still be just puberty or should I go to my GP?

View 3 RepliesMy daughter is 19. About 18 months ago she started having panic attacks, feeling nauseous and shaking and becoming quite distressed. After counselling and medication it became controlled. She still suffered episodes of shaking and feeling as if her blood sugar was dropping. She has had episodes of lightheadedness and passed out at work , being out for about 10 minutes. All her tests have shown as normal to now, however something is suddenly causing these events. She has had bp, eeg, fasting bloods- glucose and thyroid function, all normal. She is awaiting a 24 hour eeg now. I read about adrenaline crashes and Addison's disease recently and its connection with irregular periods, which she gets and Vitiligo, which she has a small patch of. Is it worth discussing tests with her GP? they seem quite happy to put her regular visits there down to anxiety though.

I experienced cramps and sore breasts just like I usually do a week before my period; I started bleeding 23 days after my last period but the bleeding lasted 2 days, stopped and I bleed on and off for 6 days. I just started working out and I heard that that could throw off menstruation as well as having sex on your period. What is the likely hood that I am pregnant? We did use a condom
View 1 RepliesHas anybody had abnormal menstrual cycle while taking topiramate (topamax) I am very worried that there may be something else wrong with me. Sorry to be graphic but I've had a very lightened flow, with dark brown blood and the beginning and the end. I read somewhere that depression can do this to your period and as depression is one of the side effects of this drug is it possible that this is a casual link? Or does this sound more like implantation spotting to you? I haven't had unprotected sex and my period was on time just with these strange goings on. Please help. I have been taking topiramate for around 6 weeks for my migraines but reducing the dose because it isn't working for me.

View 1 RepliesI was quite late to start my periods- 16 and they lasted for roughly a year or so very irregular. They went away to costa rica and by the time i returned about 3 months later and i had turned 17 my periods had stopped. I haven't had my periods since, i have however been to the doctors several times, they have taken my blood and seem to have found no symptoms- they just told me they will return soon. One said it was because i was too thin, i am quite slim but no more than some of my friends and i eat a lot. It took quite a bit of effort but recently gained a little weight- i travel quite a bit (asia, south and central America, af) and was wondering if it was possible i have some kind of parasite. I'm 19 almost 20- there must be something up.
View 1 RepliesI recently went to my doctor because pretty much since I started my period at 14, I've experience really bad cramps. The issue however is not that, my problem is that throughout the month regardless if I am due or not I get period cramps, or what I can only explain as "period cramps" as that is the closest thing it feels like, its defiantly within that region. I was tested for any STD's or ovarian cancer which all came back clear and then sent to hospital for an ultra sound to see if I had ovarian cysts or anything like that, again it all came back clear. I've had regular smear tests as well and I've never had any irregularities. So now I'm really confused and although I guess relieved that its none of the above, I'm now left pretty anxious and confused as I still have no idea what is happening. I've a pretty high pain threshold but these are really uncomfortable and sore and I cant just ignore the issue. I don't get discharge, blood or anything, just a sudden shooting pain in that area and it lasts a couple of seconds, and then goes. It can happen at anytime of the month and I'm really scared at what it is. Anyone have any ideas or experienced the same thing? I just want to put a name to its scary face that i have created!
View 4 RepliesA few days before my period I basically lose control of my urination. If I can't get to the bathroom as soon as I feel the urge I will wet my pants. I don't remember this before I had kids... if it did happen it was not as extreme as it is now. Anyone know what is going on?!
View 1 RepliesLast month, I had a very light period that only lasted two days. After that, I had bad cramps in my hips and pelvic area. They lasted for about two weeks or so. Yesterday, I finally got my period. But when I woke up today, I had leaked, and bled through my underwear and pants. This isn't really normal for me, I've never had a leak before. I'm guessing that my period is a lot heavier than it usually is.
I'm 14, and I know that my period isn't supposed to regulate for about 2 or 3 years, but is this something I should be concerned about? I could just be working myself up over nothing, but anything that isn't normal terrifies me.
I started bleeding 3 days after my period it started light but continued to get very heavy using 3-4 pads a day then a few days ago it started to slow down and showed signs of stopping when the red turned to brown but restarted again, My period is due in 9 days and this definitely doesn't feel like a period too me.
I'm not on the pill as i was having issues and came off it last year since i stopped using the combined pill my period has sorted itself out a lot.
I don't think i am pregnant as even if i was bleeding for this long would mean a issue?
Monday and Tuesday I had slight cramping it only happened when I stood up and walked never laying down only happened once or twice . Wednesday I started my period I bleed close to none but had cramps it got heavier throughout the week then yesterday I had bleed a whole lot in 6 hours after that one spot for 8 hours usually it slows down not just abruptly stop this morning I had cramping but it was different it was like in the middle a couple of hours later I had more painful cramps with it I had diarrhea heat flash and nausea then it just stopped I am sexually active and I just want answers I have been nauseous and at work I am usually on my feet all day and yesterday my back was killing me and that never happens I'm almost more tired than usual what is happening

Ever since I have had it fitted, my cycle is only 25 days and my periods are very very heavy and last 12 -13 days!
I feel like I am always bleeding and it's starting to get me down. My normal cycle ( before baby was born) was never like this.
I went to my GP in feb and they advised as baby was 4 months old I'd had a dip in my hormones ( apparently everyone does) that's why I was feeling so sh1tty and to give it a few more months. I went bk in April and again in May abd I've now been given tablets to stop the heavy bleeding. I've tried 2 different tablets now and they don't seem to help. The first day or so is not too bad ( I still have to wear 'super plus' but change every few hours) . The next 8 days are horrendous!! I am usually house bound and even walking kids 15 doors up from my house to their school turns in to a rush bk to chabge my clothes as I've leaked everywhere!! I am using super plus and a night pad and I would say I need to change ever 30-40 mins!!
Sex is out of the question as I am heavy bleeding constantly! I feel tired. ( where I'm looking blood constantly ) and now my doc have put me on iron tablets.
I have just had blood tests done as my doc wants to check hormone levels etc.
Really thinking of having it taken out as I am feeling like I'm constantly bleeding and feeling sooo tired. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this with the coil?
When I had my section I did have a heavy bleed and lost alot of blood. Don't know if I have a slight tear or something which causes my bleeding ?
I've been on the Depo-Provera shot for about a year now & today I've started bleeding but I've never had sex before, I've never had this problem before. I've never missed a shot I go back next month for another shot. Should I tell the doctor when i go back next month about it?

I'm two days late for my period, feb 21 was my date for my period . I've been getting weird cramping it felt like period cramps but no period. I have been under a lot of stress during the past semester in college. I feel like my libido has been higher lately, and I have been masturbating a lot lately. I've always done it a fair amount, maybe 5-7 days per week, since I was a kid, but now it is like 2 times per day and takes anywhere from 20-50 minutes each time. First of all, do I masturbate too much/does anyone see it as a problem? Is it normal? Second of all, is it possible that it is contributing to delaying my periods for so long? Or could it be that certain hormone levels are both increasing my libido while also delaying my period?
View 2 RepliesI have been officially diagnosed with celiac disease and I have been gluten free for about 3 years now. However, I have been having on again off again inflammation of my prostate for the past few months. Some have suggested that there is a strong connection between celiac and prostatitis. I try pretty hard to avoid gluten, but could cross contamination cause flare ups? This last flare up has lasted a few days with no signs of letting up.
