I've had so many tests, most come back with hyper thyroid, I've lost so much weight. From 10 to a 6 in a few weeks really. I get so sick in the stomach but don't always throw up. I get sweats, trouble sleeping, always feel fatigue though, head aches and missed periods. My stomach feels awful most of the time, I can't drink, makes me feel ill. I suffer from aniexty and depression.. I've always been thin, I'm so picky with food now too as it seems everything upsets my stomach. It feels like these hormones are poising my body.. How did you guys know you had hyper? What were you first signs.. I think I have had this for a long time but always put it down to something else. Waiting for some more test results next week but I'm so stressed about this I need answers.. If anyone can help pls reply below.

Before I ask my question I would like to stress that I easily get scared hearing about disease, so I am asking that please, no one begin telling of anyone having the symptoms I have and then it turns out to be xyz terrible disease that they died from, because then I will just get so extremely scared. My question is strictly regarding hyperthyroidism.
I am hoping someone can calm me I am new to the forums and new to hyperthyroidism. I have been on medication for 2,5 months and mostly feel just fine, but in the early mornings, from about 05 am, I feel symptoms, which wake me up- heart racing, feeling anxious, a little shaky, preventing me from going back to sleep. It seems to peak at about 07.30 am, and then gradually lessens until it is completely gone at about 09-10 am. But during my period and ovulation and also if I have not slept well (I suffer from insomnia) it seems to linger somewhat longer, sometimes through the afternoon or even the entire day.And this scares me, because I am medicated and my bloodworks say I'm within normal range.
One doctor said yes, I can be feeling symptoms despite medication/normal bloodworks and then another doctor said no I cannot, so now I don't know what to think :'(
The doctor who said I cannot be experiencing symptoms suggested it is mental anxiety, but that just does not match what I am experiencing, because if I get anxious about something, there is always a trigger that will get my mind going and then my body follows. But this is right opposite- it is my body that starts going and then my mind follows. It feels just like the symptoms I had before I was diagnosed and got treatment, it does not feel like getting anxious about something, it starts in my body, not my mind.

I am 19 years old and have yet to see any real effects of puberty on my body. I have a little pubic hair, armpit hair and slight facial hair, but my Penis has yet to really grow and my testicles haven't dropped. My family, on both sides, have men with a lot of facial and body hair, so I find it odd that I do not, I am also worried about my genital growth, as all males are, and am concerned I have not yet gone through the entirety of puberty.This article says that obese children go through puberty later, I have been obese since I was in elementary school, could this be the reason? And if so, will I eventually go through it and have my genitals grow as well? I am trying to lose weight now as well.

I'm 17 weeks, I go January 2nd to find out the sex of baby #2, and I'm tired of waiting! Lol any special signs or anything for a certain gender? Really hoping for a boy this time. Anything at all would be awesome. :)

What are some signs that your water is about to break or may break ? its clear discharge. I whip again the tissue is filled with snot like clear discharge I mean a lot of it .it's slimy and completely clear kinda like water but in a slim form and I know its not my mucus plug because my doctor told me it's completely gone.

I'm 30w&3d pregnant. At my last appointment 2 weeks ago, I was told I had high/elevated blood pressure & at my appointment today It was the same, but a little higher than last time. I also had a trace of protein in my urine. I'm some signs of being pregnant and my periods are irregular and I missed my periods for months and not under any stress at all. My boyfriend and I use protection when we have sex, but we're wondering if I am pregnant.. Cause I haven't had my periods in months like I said. I'm keep getting nausea every time I eat or my stomach turns if I eat the food I crave I just lose it. I have gain so much weight within months, mood swings, tired as usual less energy, heartburn that doesn't want to go away, there's so much signs I am having. I can't afford just yet to get a blood test done cause I don't have the money or the health insurance either. My boyfriend and I are worried if I am pregnant that our child is mostly like get my birth defect that I have. Chiari Malformation which cause a lot of headaches which leads me having really bad headaches. I not sure I am or not pregnant because of my tests I've taken say I'm not but my last test said it couldn't read it. I don't know what to do anymore I'm running out of ideas. I kinda have my hopes up that I'm pregnant and scared but then I'm not because of our money problems.

I have what feels like a sore throat but further down my throat. It comes and goes but it's more late afternoon when it comes on. I don't want to eat as it feels like my food is stuck or talk because it's so sore but when I wake up it's ok? I went to doctors Last week they reduced my beta blockers because I was so zapped out. I mentioned my throat but he wasn't concerned and barely looked. He seemed miffed that the specialist mentioned I need to be careful about sore throats due to thyroid med and white blood cells. He was annoyed about having a blood test. Dr hasn't rung back so I guess that's ok but is my throat normal problem for overactive thyroid.

i was diagnosed with hyperthyroid 6 weeks ago, started taking metoprolol 25mg twice a day... on the 4th day i noticed my ears were popping every time i swallowed... and have been ever since. went to ENT today and had a scope done of nose and throat w/everything fine... anyone else had this type of issue?
I finally see specialist tomorrow and hope to get on meds... i have tremors all over body, anxiety, fatigue, high heart rate (120 at times)

Have just been given carbimazole 5mg x 2 a day until I see my endocrinologist in December. I am on propranolol x 10mg x 3 a day. Just a query- when do you stop propranolol?

Just wondered if any of you had experienced depression when taking propranolol? I am sure it effects me? Had to go back on it recently as i was experiencing palpitations and very fast pulse! One week in, i can feel dark cloud feeling! Does anyone know is it only beta blockers that stop palpitations?

I was just diagnosed with hyperthyroid after plenty of scans, blood work ,etc, Had my needle biopsy come clean as far as no cancer found, I have all the classic hyper symptoms,....tired yet wired. Anyway, my first thought after getting my biopsy results was ' great, I can go on meds and feel better soon'. Wrong. My referred Endoc. Either wants me to do RAI or surgery to remove 1/2 my thyroid. He claims that if the dose of RAI is small enough to where it will target the hot nodule which is spitting out excess hormones causing me to be hyper,.....and that my chances of becoming hypo after RAI in this case are very small, Everything I've read about RAI says otherwise, Why can't I be treated with meds? Just looking for opinions in hopes someone is familiar with hot nodule treatments, I'm new to all this, and learning as I go, I'd love any input from you all, How many have sought 2nd opinions?

I have recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid with no previous thyroid problems. I was tested in 2014 once with normal results.
Recently in my 8th week of being pregnant my results came back as:
TSH <0.01 (reference 0.3-4.0 mIU/L)
Free t4 25 (reference 9-23 pmol/L)
Free t3 8.4 (reference 3.5-6.5 pmol/L)
I am waiting for an endo appointment and was wondering if there was anything else that should be tested (vitamin b12, D, carnitine, antibodies) or if there was anything I could do while I wait for the appointment. I am a vegetarian and from my other tests the doctor concluded my iron is fine.

I was diagnosed as hyperthyroid about five months ago. I am so much better now however the tremor in my hands and the muscle weakness in my arms and thighs doesn't seem to have subsided (or even lessened) at all like the rest of the symptoms. I am really worried that these are going to be permanent problems. Has anyone else had tremors and muscle weakness from this condition, and did it eventually go away or should I be preparing for this to be a lifetime issue? If yours did go away, how long did it take and did you need to take any particular supplements or do any particular exercises to help?

I was diagnosed with overactive thyroid just over a month ago-after a few days I had a sore throat-stopped the drug and went to doctor whos said my sore throat was nothing to worry about-no temperature and did a blood test ok and went back on the tablets. I have another sore throat-my appointment with the Consultant isn't until April 17th-what should I do? previous message on this subject are quite old?how bad a sore throat does it have to be before seaking an urgent appointment?
