View 1 RepliesHey everyone, so I'm 16 now and i started smoking pot at the beginning of my junior year about a year ago and i thought it was sick. i always had a great time smoking with friends and having out but recently the past 2 or 3 times I've smoked i have been very paranoid, my mouth became very dry, my head ached, and i felt like my heart was gonna beat out of my chest. This was a very new experience to me and i thought it was just a phase or something. I tried smoking a few more times hoping i wouldn't be paranoid anymore but the feeling has yet to go away. I'm fine when I'm not high and I used to enjoy smoking but I've been getting bad highs lately. I heard drinking caffeine before smoking can cause problems and I also heard smoking with rolling papers can make you have a bad high as well. If anyone knows what I'm going through and knows a solution or something i can try to get over these bad highs let me know.
View 3 RepliesOMG Just read a post somewhere where the person stated that she had treated her ls white patch with Colloidal silver first aid gel and the patch had dried up and dropped off. I mistakenly left the post and now can't find it. I was fascinated by this and have been researching and wow. If this is right then this is a brilliant find for all of us Ls sufferers. To the user I would love to hear more. Did treating with this hurt, burn or nothing. I am very impressed with my research so far but worried about jumping in. Apparently you can buy the colloidal silver and mix it with aloe vera gel to make your own gel much cheaper than the proprietary stuff on the market. It can be used to treat Urinary Tract Infections. It has been used in nasal sprays and throat sprays so it appears to be non-toxic. Need to hear from anyone who has used this. It also mixes with coconut oil which was said to give an all round product which sounds perfect for us. It is supposed to be an amazing healer when antibiotics are not working.
Has anyone else heard of this or even better tried it out?
I've been having migraine headaches, pressure headaches, dizziness and nausea. I kept chalking it all up to menopause. Because as most of you know, so many of these symptoms are menopause.
Last Friday, Jan 2nd at around 7:30PM my boyfriend and I were leaving a restaurant, suddenly I started getting shocks in my right leg like my leg was falling asleep, while I was walking to the car. This shocking feeling quickly radiated up my arm and into my head, all on the right side. My boyfriend quickly started toward the hospital. On the way I lost the ability to formulate sentences and words. I would say one sentence and a totally different sentence would come out. I would try to say one word and a totally different word came out. Being a former medic the only word I wanted to relay was "stroke". It felt like someone had tasted my right side. It was the most frightening thing I'd ever experienced and I was awake for the entire ride. After getting to the hospital I was in the ER for about 3 hours. Then sent to Neurology/Stroke ward. For the next few days I had a battery of MRI's, EEG, EKG's, CT Scans, Blood Work, Ultrasounds and a Spinal (Lumbar Punch). Within 6 or so hours I was able to formulate sentences and say words again. I forced myself the entire time. My right side started getting feeling back within a few days. I still have some numbness in my right hand and am experiencing peripheral neuropathy symptoms in my right leg and foot.
The neurologist found a mass in my brain. Thanks be to God that it is benign. I just found out yesterday that I am cancer free. However, they still don't know what the mass is. It could be a tumor or a jelly bean I stuffed in my nose as a child. (joking) But we won't know for a while. Also it might be inoperable too. I will be seeing the Dr on the 13th for an MRI Rx. In a month we'll do the MRI and see what has happened with this mass. Is the edema gone, has it shrunk or grown? Things like that.
I am 32 years old and my BP 150/90 is it necessary to take medicine to control BP? plz suggest how could i control it without taking medicine.
View 5 RepliesI was diagnosed with a heart murmur just under a year ago, could this be a cause of my BP being so high? I am active pretty much everyday doing at least 2-4 hours of exercise a day and eat a reasonable diet.
View 11 RepliesI have been on hypothyroid for long after I had total thyroidectomy in 2008. Recent test indicate that my hypothyroid is now euthyroid and normal. Yet my blood pressure remain very high. 180/100. What medication do you recommend. I am presently on 50mg levothyroxine. I am restless all day.
View 3 Replieshave been on Indapamide a few months and so far so good, feel so much better since coming off ramipril! I am also warm all the time which is such a change, I Was always cold when my bp was so high! I just wanted to say something positive about a drug as I find it very good with little side effects apart from tinnitus but that's nothing compared to previous side effects. I spoke to a nurse who uses this drug and she says it's fairly new and quite expensive so not used a lot but anyone struggling for a good drug, I think it's okay, don't know if it reduces bp as still have phobia but feel great!
View 1 RepliesDoes anyone have pots with high bp when standing or activity?
View 1 RepliesI have diabetes for 10 years and recently got diagnosed with Hypertension. I am not overweight and i got these genetically.
Can you please suggest how to lead a healthy long life with these two deadly diseases.
I heard that anxiety can cause diabetes and hypertension.
This makes me just thinking all the time about it and I'm trying to not do alot of exposures therapy because of this idea.
I'm 30 and have no medical condition.
I have had high blood pressure since 2009. My medication will control it until around my menstrual cycle. I will have horrible headaches that turn into migraines and my blood pressure will jump to 180/110 and stay there for a few days. My doctor stated that it is stress related, but my question is: if it is stress related, why do I just have these horrific headaches and my blood pressure skyrocket just around my menstrual? I can't find the answer. I have researched it and have ask my physician, but no new light has been shed. Does anyone have any information?
View 1 RepliesI have had knee problems off and on for about seven years. Yesterday my doctor decided that my cartilage has finally 'Gone', probably finished by getting off our local trains where not only do you have to Mind the Gap but have a good two feet to step down. He is arranging for another X-Ray prior to discussing my surgical options. Two years ago after the last X-ray I was told that my knee was in good condition for my age:-)
Meantime he reluctantly prescribed an NSAID ( Naproxen) after considering my BP and past stomach ulcer and other problems.
Reading the packet insert it tells me that Losartan and most hypertensive drugs may be affected by how NSAIDS work.
Googling Naproxen + Losartan I read, "Significant interaction possible (monitoring by your doctor required).
losartan oral , naproxen oral . Either increases toxicity of the other by Other mechanism. Combination may reduce kidney function, particularly in elderly or volume depleted individuals.
naproxen oral decreases effects of losartan oral by opposing drug effects. Combination may reduce blood pressure reducing effect"
I was started on Lisinopril and had a terrible cough so doc switched me to 25mg Losartan. I have been taking it since January 11th. the drug works well as far as no side effects but it seems like BP is higher than when I was on Lisinopril and my numbers are all over the board.
View 19 RepliesMy 12 year old daughter had had headaches for some time and her endocrinologist advised her to have an eye test. I say 'endocrinologist' as she was born without a thyroid gland (extremely rare) and she's been taking thyroxine since she was 10 days old. She's also monitored for her hypothyroidism. Anyway, between her doctor's appt and her eye test, she got her first period. So we blamed her headaches on her development. The ophthalmologist said that my daughter needed to increase her lenses. So again, we put her headaches down to this. By time, her headaches moved down to her neck and 4 months later, at another routine eye test, I mentioned this and the ophthalmologist decided to look behind her eyes. He was horrified to see extreme swelling of both optic nerves and a swollen brain. She was admitted into hospital and had a CT Scan done. Luckily there were no tumours but a lumbar puncture showed that her CSF pressure was 50 (it should be 15-18). She was immediately started on diamox 250mg (acetazolamide). After a few days this dose doubled. Today she has just had her 6th lumbar puncture and as the pills don't seem to be working - her CSF pressure is on the rise again, her medication has been increased again. She's taking 2g per day (750mg-500mg-750mg) daily, which i think is too much for a child. On the 23rd July she's having her 7th lumbar puncture and also seeing a neurosurgeon, because inserting a shunt seems to be the only solution. Lets hope and pray all will be ok.
View 1 RepliesTwo years ago I was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. My pressure was at 38. I lived in pure worry for 6 months and went back again and it was 32. I still live in fear and my doctors acted like it was not a huge deal but want to see my every 6 months. They did an echo and EKG. I don't go back again until March but for the last week my right lung feels like its being squeezed and then I can't get any air. I'm so scared but I also have bad anxiety and panic. I just feel like k can't get any air in my right lung. When I lay down it somewhat goes away. I'm 31 and somewhat overweight. I have a lot of stress because my mom just passed away. I also have two kids and am scared I'm gonna die all the time. Just wondering if anyone else has this or is it my anxiety. I read online about how bad pulmonary hypertension and am in constant worry
View 1 RepliesIs 145/100 too high? And could be the reason for the headache as i am having a headache since two days; and my blood pressure is around 145/100 every time i monitor it.
View 3 RepliesAbout 3 months ago I had a sinus infection and never recovered after I had terrible like pressure building up in the left side of my head which would happen more at night or basically when I would lie down i also when my ears touch the pillow I hear my pulse and on the right ear only when I press against the pillow a clicking noise I would later develop sensitivity to bright lights sounds and smells.
I made 3 trips to a and e with the pressure building in my head on the last occasion it affected the left side of my body they just sent me away

View 7 RepliesA year or so ago it got picked up via an eye test and then in referral to hospital that i have ocular hypertension. And was given some Latanoprost eye drops.
The only reason I went opticians was because of headaches and eyes hurting.
Im due to go back to the consultant in December. For the majority of the time I suffer with headaches, with an almost tired/drained feeling and my eyes are either tight or dry. I put the drops in just because I go to sleep, when i wake up, my eyes are so dry and blinking doesn't help, I do have some moisturizing eyes drops.
I thought there were no symptoms of ocular hypertension? Are the headaches due to the eye issues? i work in an office with a computer, spreadsheets, numbers etc and I struggle most days. My problems usually aren't as bad at home, however it can takes weeks before I have no headaches and then they are back quickly.
I don't know what to do, It stresses me out if works making my condition worse, then I can't stand to be stuck in the office all day and be in pain, then i'm annoyed and unhappy before I go back to work knowing its a vicious circle
