Hip Replacement :: Don't Run On Fake Hips
Mar 2, 2016
What is wrong with me? I try to be careful with my fake hips, but this evening, while in a great hurry, I RAN! I ran! I am not even a runner! Now I am hurting to the point that I am limping and feel as though I may have to use my cane again. It seems like lately I am trying to ruin my surgeries. First I slip on snow slush and nearly fell and caused myself pain and problems, and now I ran!

I live in a culture where we are not suppose to have sex until marriage and masturbation is not acceptable and we have arranged marriages.
the Definition of virginity to people here is intact hymen (I don't agree). I think broke my hymen with a water hose that was a long time ago I didn't even know what a hymen is.
I'm not sure if all guys now look to see if she is a virgin but there is still honor crimes. the father or brother would kill the girl.
I want to know if I still have my hymen,
How a guy know that the girl still has her hymen if my hymen was broken how to fake my virginity by the way I live in Saudi arabia in the middle east.

I'm 18 years old and since I can remember I have had frequent clicking in my hips whether I'm sitting, standing or laying my hips will click. If I feel tension in my hips I cannot just sit there and forget I must move so that they click and relieve the pressure. This happens at least 30-40 times a day and I have no pain. However, once a week or so, one of my hips will freeze causing almost unbearable pain and it varies between both. I become crippled and cannot straighten my leg. I have to rest with my knee in a bent position for as long as it takes for the pain to die down and for me to slowly ease my leg straight. I've been living with this for years and sometimes I wake up with an ache that continues all week.
Doctors have only ever given my pain relief for the ache but done nothing else for me. Any ideas on what is causing this and how it can be treated?

Within the last 2/3 weeks, I have noticed welts (very large and warm) on certain parts of my body, mainly around my ankles, hips, backs of my knees, and one spot on my spine. At first, I thought it was an allergy to my laundry detergent, so I started making my own because I am allergic to everything else. After switching soaps, I noticed that the hives/welts subsided but then after a couple days, I got 2 on my spine again. One welt was about the size of a silver dollar and the other, about four inches lower on my spine, about the size of a quarter. Later that night, the left side of my lower lip randomly got very warm and started to swell. It looked as though I had been stung by a bee. There was no pain other than the uncomfortable tightness.
Any ideas on what could be the cause? I can't get into my doctor for quite some time, and I prefer to avoid the emergency room since it doesn't seem that serious but I'd really like an idea of what in the world is going on.
Update 12/16/13-This morning I woke up with one nickel sized welt on each arm, just below my elbows.

I was diagnosed 3 1/2 years ago. Many ups and downs. I've now been told - PMR in remission. Inflammation and blood count almost normal. However, I still have quite bad pains ( shoulders/arms/wrists/hips). Thought Dr said PMR was in remission!! Has anyone else suffered like this?

On Sunday night my left leg started aching and I could barely walk because it hurt so much, also my hip hurt at the same time and my lower back on the left side, I stayed home from school for two days and then tried going there but that made the pain worse so both my legs started aching, it kind of felt like constant small cramps that sometimes got more intense, in my left leg it's my thigh and knee mainly and in my left leg my shin, I had to go home because the pain distracted me from being able to work.It later got a bit better but at night I had more intense cramps in my lower legs and feet.Today i've been pretty well, went to school again and now only my left leg is aching but not as much and mainly when I put weight on it but about an hour ago the left side of my face started to feel strange, I can't really explain it..but maybe a bit strained and also it burns, my jaw feels weird too.My parents says that I should not worry because I don't have any fever at all but I still want to know what the symptoms might be? I am going to see a doctor asap but there's no idea doing it now since I don't have a fever they won't take me seriously.Let me also add that I do not exercise and I sit behind my computer a lot, so it can't be some kind of injury.

I've been suffering with pains in my hips, causing problems with walking and standing. On a bad day the stairs are difficult to climb. This has been going on for about a year now. In the last 6 months or so I have developed a sciatic like pain, only happening when standing up and walking to far. The last few days it's been getting worse and I now have pins and needles in my legs and feet. Sometimes both legs but mostly my left. The sciatic pain is only ever in the left side of my buttock. When I try to stand, I am simply unable to put any weight onto my left leg for a while. I'm 31 years old and a mother to 4 plus work. The doctors keep brushing me off because of my age but I'm sure what I am experiencing isn't right.

I had BV a few years ago but it was very minor and managed w/ antibiotics... So my long time boyfriend and I recently got back together about 2 months ago and we were apart about 2.5 years in that time I had a few initiate relationships but never intimate enough to let them ejaculate inside me which leads me to believe my boyfriend's semen has caused the BV because it was almost instantaneous.. I am not suffering from any other symptoms other than the odor which is causing a severe problem with intimacy. We just got back together after so long and all we want to do is have sex but I feel extremely insecure. I've come to a point in my lifestyle where I would prefer to use natural methods rather than antibiotics which led me this discussion. I have purchased a number of different treatment options such as the vitamin c w/ rose hips, acidophilus, tea tree oil and folic acid. I'm not sure what to try first and how long I should wait to try another treatment if not successful. I'm ready to get my confidence back!

About 9 months ago I suffered severe bilateral frozen shoulders. With Physio and various medicaments, 7 months on, it finally came back to 95% FRM and hardly any pain to speak of. Since then, the hips have gradually become very stiff and painful with similar symptoms as the shoulders...especially the muscles supporting the legs becoming painful as did the muscles of the mid-lower arms. Also the back muscles seem more affected than before. Has anyone any idea if the frozen shoulders affect the hips? I understand thyroid problems can be a predisposition...I have an underactive thyroid.

I was researching the topic of lower back pain post THR. It concluded that the Hip made the back hurt or the back was making the Hip hurt. >>>?????
They haven't figured that out. Then, they added "of course the hip bone is connected to the back bone and the leg bone is attached to the knee bone"
In this document, they go step by step through the anterior approach, and these 2 images showed up. While your leg is unhinged or whatever they push it back under the good leg to get in the incision better... Then, what's up with the slanting? It is a way to "facilitate the femur" something or adjusts the length.... So... Seriously, I'm laying there with my legs wide open?

I have been reading your posts on your walking progress and am amazed at how much some of you are able to do. I am almost 5 weeks post op and walk every day on my crutches, but it is just up and down the road a few times going a bit further every day. Compared to some of you I don't think I am nearly doing enough walking, my fitness level was bad before the operation due to not being able to weight bear and walk so that may be why my progress seems slower.
I was given the physio exercises, which I do every day, but was given no indication of how far I should be walking or if I should go on when I get pain. Just wondered what your thoughts are on this.

A week before my op and post op I have given up alcohol. We usually share a bottle of wine at the weekend but with the meds I don't think I can. Is this the same for you?. Only three weeks to go, just in time for my wife's birthday.

I had a right hip replacement 3 weeks ago and my surgeon gave me very little guidance on what was and wasn't okay. He told me not to do any "leg lifts". I was told that I didn't have to worry about the 90 degree rule (and yet, I do). I have a physical therapist who comes to my home twice a week but all he has told me is "don't pivot" on that leg. After 3 weeks, I'm not experiencing much pain (and when I do it's in odd places, like my knee or my foot). I am now able to sleep on my "good" side using an abduction pillow.
Yesterday, I saw a physician's assistant (not my surgeon) for a post-op visit and I pressed him as to what activities were okay and not okay. He only told me "don't do it if it hurts". That advice is singularly unhelpful. I am comfortable turning my foot in and out but is it okay? I'm comfortable bending over but is it okay? I have no trouble lifting my leg onto the bed but should I continue lifting it with my hands? The information I've found on the internet covers the first couple of weeks after surgery then there seems to be nothing between that and 6 months later when you can "resume normal activities." I'm frustrated and perplexed without any guidance. I'm worried that I could injure myself and have to have corrective surgery - and I'd rather be shot than have to go through that again and have to go back into the hospital!

I am scheduled to have the knee I had replaced 9 years ago in May. Just wondered if others have had this done and how they are doing. Have put this off since they told me last year I needed to do it, but pain is enough that I can't do things I enjoy as much. This time I am working on getting the quads and hams tighter. Next, watching the diet to lose the 5 pounds I put back on.

My surgeon has let me out of bed and I tried to walk. I walked round my bed and sat in the chair on the other side. Like everything else the chair was not high enough so was uncomfortable to sit in. I was in really bad pain because. This hip feels so different to the last one. I do know that I have to take into consideration that my leg will be using muscle it hasn't used for years. I also have to take into consideration that my hip deteriorate so much. But the way he did the op is no different than when he did my right one. But to err on the side of caution. I am to wear a brace for 6 weeks once it arrives. I'm so glad I had my left hip done first because this has helped me cope a little more and it is almost as strong as the original leg. The pain is intense and nothing at the moment is helping with it. So they have upped my oramorph to 15 mil to try and make me comfortable. This just goes to prove no two legs are the same on anyone. I hope this pain will subside given time but right now I feel like my right leg has been chopped off not replaced. Things I know will settle down. I am just disappointed they didn't go the same way as before.
