Hip Replacement :: Breaking 90 Degree Rule
Feb 15, 2016
After Abbi's thread about her dislocations, it has got me wondering if anyone inadvertently broke the 90 degree rule and got away with it. I'm not planning to try it of course, even pre-op I'm practising moving without bending my bad hip more than 90 degrees, but there are times when I forget. I'm sure after hip replacement I will be more aware, but do you hippies ever bend without thinking and if so, how has it affected you?

Does anyone know how long the don't bend 90 degree angle' is crucial for? I am four months in after THR of left hip. Bent down to put socks on and my husband said I was breaking g the 90 degree rule. I wonder if this is still causing the low back pain i am getting. Feel as though I should be better than I am.

Tomorrow is 8 weeks since FKR and I'm still stuck at 88 degree bend and 4 straightening. On a everyday schedule little pain walking with cane some times or nothing at home. Go to therapy 3 times a week and it's painful only when they push to reach my bend. Is 88 to little at 8 weeks. Going to see surgeon today and I feel he is going to say manipulation is needed. Very scared please advice what should I do. When I had my first arthroscopic surgeries it too a log time time to bend my knee same for my shoulder. So I don't know if I'm just a slow heeler or not doing good.

Two weeks ago I underwent an anal sphincter repair as well as a rectovaginal fistula repair. I had a fourth degree tear at the birth of my second baby 9 months ago and as a result of this needed this surgery. However a small hole appeared to one side of my back passage and I got this looked at by the registrar in the Hosp and was told it would probably heal on its own and not to come back unless more complications. I was put on antibiotics. Two days later the hole is bigger and there is both fecal matter and thread from surgery coming out of this hole. I am now presuming I have an anal fistula. Has anybody experienced this after an anal sphincter repair?

My grandmother has serious difficulty walking, only being able to make small, shuffling steps with a walker and when someone is holding her. She was originally diagnosed with parkinson's, but lacked other symptoms like tremors, cognitive issues, etc and did not respond to levodopa. MRI and not responding to treatment ruled out Parkinsons, but doctors are unsure what she has. What could cause the symptoms and the trouble with walking?
Specifically, she cannot balance standing upright and most hold on to something. When walking, she can only make small shuffling steps, she sometimes fails to lift her feet off the floor. She can move her leg fine when sitting or lying down. She also feels heavy pain.
This has been leaving all of us confused as a lot of conditions (like Parkinson's) have been ruled out, but.. what could it be?

I've tried having sex with my boyfriend twice now, and my hymen won't break/ tear. Some people have said theirs tear easily. But we've tried to break it a few times now just by penetration and it just hurts. He says we can "keep trying", but I'd rather not. My parents don't know I'm having sex with him, so I don't want to ask my mom to see an OB GYN to have my hymen cut or anything. I don't know what to do...

Sorry if this is a stupid question but if your water is leaking are you able to hold it in? I have heard it feels like you have to pee when your water breaks so if it's just leaking can you hold it in like it is pee and not know it's your water?

Did any of you ladies have a feeling your water was going to break before it did? I'm 6 - 7cm dilated and I've been walking around and working around the house all day and walking around stores. I'm experiencing so much intense pressure that I feel like my baby is gonna pop right out lol did any of you experience something that gave you a sign it would happen or did it just surprise you when it happened?

Did anyone have any 'warning' signs before their water broke. I know that might be silly but I was induced with my other 2. Never got to go in actual labor on my own. Thanks!

I've had odd symptoms for many stinging pains, muscle twitching rashes, pancreatitis that is chronic but clear via scans.
Well, almost 3 weeks ago, a large red mark appeared on left breast. I've been going back and forth to doctor as I've wanted to rule out inflammatory breast cancer-it presents with redness etc but no lesions, hard to diagnose. Today when I went back, the doctor felt nodes under my armpit, confirmed during ultrasound, but said they looked benign and small. He said actually it could pop up from autoimmune. He did admit it was odd. It was on the same side as affected breast and not the other. I'm going to get an MRI of my breast as IBC doesn't show on mammogram or ultrasound often.
I've had swollen nodes in the past. I noticed a few times on my jaw line.
I haven't been diagnosed with lupus, tests many years ago were totally clear as were vasculitits tests. But curious if anyone has had nodes on one part of the body pop up. Im praying its not IBC. I'd much rather it be something else. IBC is the most aggressive form of BC and spreads in a matter of weeks, so grasping for other explanations

I'm 39 weeks. Had some pressure and went to the bathroom. I tried to stop myself from peeing while on the toilet and couldn't stop. It was a gush and then nothing. Could that have been my water breaking?

I am just wondering whether anyone has had genetic testing to rule out causes of fatigue? Myself and my brother both suffer with extreme tiredness and I'm wondering if it's worth asking for it to be investigated down the genetic route.

I recently broke my left ring finger, 4 months ago, now slightly below my index finger is a small lump that looks like it is my tendons. This lumps starts a raised line in the center of my hand, proceeds up by my index finger as well as slightly splitting off towards my middle finger. I also have light pain in my hand, especially after I do something with it. Also my finger still feels very strange to move and bring down to my palm. It also is sometimes slightly stiff. The line/lump is what I would describe to be my bone or tendons.

I'm 38 almost 39 weeks pregnant. And I went to the bathroom, and my underwear was completely covered in a whitish clearish mucus. It didn't have an odor or anything and it was really sticky. And it's been a couple hours and I'm still kinda leaking, not a lot, more like just a drip or two. Could this be my water broke?

I got the NuvaRing, it's been about two months. First month my it was normal. But now I'm having crazy mood swings, my face is breaking out, and it's a week before I'm supposed to take it out to have my period and I'm having heavy bleeding, very unusual, and horrible abdominal pains. I just took it out to let my body regulate itself again. It was making me miserable. I COULD take the pill....but I need to really discipline myself to take it everyday. I've let the internet scare me away from Paragard. But honestly I just need REAL opinions, suggestions, from real woman.
