High White Blood Cell Count Combined Large Red Blood Cells
Jul 2, 2014
I can find information on high white count and enlarged red blood cell separately. I can not get the information on combination of both. I see a Hematologist/Oncologist tomorrow. I need to be prepared if I am going to labeled an alcoholic. Anyone have both of these issues?

This may be a daft question but I can't help wondering if anyone else has had blood test results where your white blood cell count was elevated? It seems mine are always out? It's not crazy high but high enough the doctor calls me in.
Is there any links between wbc and Fibro?

I am a 59 yr. old male and a disabled Veteran. I have been taking Testosterone for the past 15 years every 2 weeks. My doctor took me off of it on June 4th because my red blood count was too high. My body doesn't produce Testosterone anymore because of Hemochromatosis, which is a blood disease which produces too much iron in my blood.

I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in September by my family physician he put me on PTU 50mg 3xs a day in early November. I went and saw endocrinologist on Christmas eve says my white blood cells are low i was wondering could this be a result of the meds. He took me off PTU and placed me on methimazole 10mg twice a day, please help because it seems the more questions i ask my endocrinologist the more upset he becomes him and my family dr.

I am writing to see if anyone has any ideas for my father in law in Japan. He is in the hospital and the oncologists, and disease specialists cannot diagnose his condition. He has had a fever for over a month, diminishing strength, trouble breathing, and inflamed lymph nodes and spleen. It is my understanding that he has a low white blood cell count as well.

I have been bleeding now for past 4 weeks. The last week has seen me lose giant blood clots and I mean lots of them. In fact I've had to stay off work these last few days as I need to be near a loo. I feel a bit shaky but I put that down to the amount of blood I've lost. I'm really worried I'm going to need a hysterectomy. Has anyone else experienced this?

i am not overweight. Drink a healthy smoothie and whole grain cereal almost every morning yet my BP is still high. (100/170). I was told it may be because of elevated insulin levels caused by the fruit drinks and whole grains (as well as the potato, rice, pasta and breads) that I eat. These are things that easily break down into sugars and cause the issue. (Basically a carb issue). Am I supposed to go on one of those caveman diets? Has anyone tried lowering their carb intake to lower their BP?

So I took the abortion pill, which resulted as successful. However, weeks later I was walking in my house and felt something moving out of my vagina, similarly to how I would feel the tissue and such while on my period, but significantly more. I ran to my bathroom thinking I was getting my period at an off time due to the abortion, but there was a large glob of tissue and blood that had exited my body. After that, there was nothing for a week or so later when I started getting my actual menstrual cycle again. Was this a result of the abortion? Is it normal?

I just had some labs done and was told that my HS CRP test came back high at 3.0 (should be 1.0 or less). My doc says that has to do with cardiovascular risk and inflammation.
I have also noticed that my blood pressure, which for my whole life has been 90/60, is now between 120/85 - 140/85. Obviously this is very concerning and so sudden.
Have any of you experienced this is relation to hypothyroidism? What is causing this?

I'm 26 years of age, im 250 lbs and 6ft 1in tall. I know that sounds really fat and im no underwear model but i have a big frame and don't look fat as much as strong. I've recently gotten a few BP readings. the low was 152/85 the higher one i just tried at walmart to help with white coat syndrome, it was 165/88 but my resting heart rate is 59. I can't seem to get a BP reading without first being ****** off by kids playing on the BP machine at walmart while i stand there or waiting 2 hours in a doctor's office. My doctor just seemed to think nothing of my high numbers, "oh it's just white coat syndrome, plus the bottom numbers the real important one". Do i need to wait until im in my 40's to be taken seriously or should i just induce a minor heart attack now? lol

My 40 year-old wife in recent months has undergone a number of tests following some weight loss. It transpires that she is suffering from hypertension with her 24hr ambulatory readings averaging at 170/110. Further diagnostic tests (ECG, echo and cardiac MRI) were undertaken and her cardiologist told her that her heart is enlarged (moderate) with impaired function (I believe ejection fraction in the region of 45%) but has not been able to identify the root cause of the hypertension. She is asymptomatic and does not have any issues in terms of fatigue, breathlessness, swelling, etc.
She has been prescribed 5mg Amlodipine, 5mg Ramipril and 2.5mg Bisoprolol. The Cardiologist has told her she will be on medication for longevity and that improving the condition will take a long time. Her blood pressure has already come down to 132/84 which the cardiologist was very pleased with. She will be seeing him again in 8/9 weeks with a follow up echo in 4/5 months.
In terms of the diagnosis, the cardiologist has referred only to hypertension but having read and aligned the symptoms of the enlarged heart and impaired function, is it not heart failure.....? Also, what is the prognosis for an enlarged heart caused by hypertension, especially in someone of 40 years of age.....can the enlarged heart and function return to normal over time with the medication?
