Can someone give insight? Been to doc, told hemorrhoids. Along with anal tear. Should I move on to a second opinion?
Still lots of pain, no blood any more. Throbbing , fullness feeling. She diagnosed me Monday and gave me some foam that has done nothing.
Been on miralax as well, no improvement.
I've been having some symptoms for years now that have a big affect on my quality of life and hold me back quite a lot, and I'm starting to think I might have prostatitis.
The main symptom that annoys me is a feeling of fullness or tension in my rectum. In the past, it got so bad I could not sleep and it drove me up the walls, I felt like I had to defecate but I didn't. I would wake up feeling fine, but as the day went on, the tension would build and build and it got really noticeable by the evening. I still get this but have learned to manage it better as I will explain below. I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but my bowel movements are in fact very regular - the only IBS issue I have is spasms that were noted during a sigmoidoscopy. On a related note, I would also get very painful proctalgia fulgax spasms that wake me up suddenly at nigh and last for maybe 10 minutes or so. If I do not get a good rest every night, I wake up with the tension and pain the next morning and it makes for an unpleasant day.
Certain things would really aggravate the sense of rectal fullness/tension. Sitting is the worst culprit, if I sit on a hard seat I will have nasty feelings of pain and tension in my rectal area for days. If I have a bowel movement that does not go completely smoothly, I get a feeling of incomplete evacuation and will get feelings of tension and spasming for the rest of the day. I also tend to feel quite sensitive after a bowel movement and avoid sitting down at all for maybe an hour afterwards or else I will cause this tension/fullness feeling. Because of these problems I am paranoid about keeping a regular diet so my bowel movements are regular and smooth. I eat the exact same thing every day, and in particular avoid alcohol since it causes harder movements and wrecks the next day.
In the past, I thought my problems might be caused by internal haemorrhoids, but a sigmoidoscopy showed that everything looked fine (only very minor haemorrhoid inflammation), but the doctor did note some spasms/hypersensitivity in the rectal area caused by the movement of the scope. I then thought it might be levator ani syndrome. However, I more recently stumbled across chronic prostatitis online, and I realised I had many of those symptoms that I did not think of as problems. For example, I get up 2-3 times each night to urinate, I get random pains in my left testicle or the tip of my penis, etc.
The control measures I have learned that work for me over the years are also consistent for chronic prostatitis. I take a hot sitz bath every night now (with the weight on my hands) and that is a huge help in relieving the feelings of tightness/fullness. This also stopped the proctalgia fulgax spasms I would get at night. If I am not at work, I avoid sitting completely and this has also helped prevent the tension/fullness feeling from building throughout the day.
In summary:
Considering that my main symptoms are rectal pain/tightness/sense of fullness/spasms, and that these are accompanied by frequent urination at night and occasional, random genital pain, would all this indicate that chronic prostatitis is my problem?

View 2 RepliesI've been in a bit of pain for the last 2 days, when I noticed yesterday a spot like lump has appeared just above from my anus, along my butt crack. I've researched online and several medical sites have advised that it should disappear after a few days but itself. But the pain is unbearable when sitting or lying and I'm really starting to worry. Anyone know how to reduce the pain.

View 1 RepliesOk, anyone out there that can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I just got back from getting the results of a MRI that I had just done on my back. I've been in alot of pain for a month , today. The report said as follows:
Findings: There is a large central disk protrusion at L5-S1 to the left of midline. This is impinging on the passing left L5 and probably S1 nerve roots. The disk protrusion is large enough to potentially be displacing the S2 nerve root as well . No L5-S1 foraminal stenosis is seen.
There is normal conus medullaris and cauda equina. Vertebral bodies are normal. The remainder of discs and disc spaces and facets are normal.
I had a haemorrhoidectomy and a staple procedure along with a fisher repaired and I'm now on week 5 and not feeling good
View 5 RepliesI have been having this pain for quite a while but today when I woke up it was bad. I have never been diagnosed with anything but I don't have money to go to the doctor right now.
The pain is located in the upper left side off buttock/side of hip. This pain usually is middle of buttock and lower back it has radiated some down the leg but not as a main symptom. it mainly hurts when I am walking or lift my leg up high like I'm stepping over something. It is sudden and painful. When I sit it's a constant pain and when I stand up from sitting (without moving)it feels a little bit better.
If if anyone could please give me any advice on what this could be i would be super happy and grateful as today I am left sitting on the couch because it is too painful to walk.

View 1 RepliesHave blood in urine slightly low kidney function and CT scan showed smaller left kidney have mild ache in the left side also experiencing heavy chest and one big heart beat every so often which comes and goes. Now I have a strange feeling in my left bum cheek like a numb pulling sensation its very hard to describe and not letting up. Anyone have any similar symptoms. Awaiting an MRI next week.

View 4 RepliesI am now 15 weeks post exposure. Was not able to get a blood test after 8 weeks. Tested negative prior to that.
My only symptom now is terrible pain that I could only describe as sciatic based off what I see online.
- constantly changing pain in my butt, inner and outer thighs, and my big toe on the right foot.
- constant pinching feeling in groin
- lower and mid back pain (can be mild or so painful, for example needing to lie down after a 5 minute run)
How likely is herpes to cause these symptoms (which have lasted three weeks now), without causing lesions?
Does anyone else stress and gave anxiety so bad it creates throbbing headaches?? And I'd this a normal symptom? Feeling worried.
View 16 RepliesHad A&P repair done 16 weeks again, had a few up and downs along the way but on the whole things were going ok, that is until last week, I have started to feel sore underneath and quite uncomfortable and this morning have noticed a bit of blood, nothing major, not had a period since last February so hoping it's not that.
Has anyone else expericaned this? I did call the consultants office yesterday but was told that I have now been discharged back to my dr, so would need to see him.
I have been dealing with a small lump around my anus. It has been a year and when i first got it, i looked for it online and the articles that i read all said that the lump will heal by itself. It already been a year and im more of tired of it. It's not painful, but sometimes it does itches, when defecating, sometimes i will find blood on the poo, but all this happens really seldom. The lump does not bother much, but it's been more than a year and it is still there. Sometimes the lump will shrink but sometimes it will grow back, and i really do not know what to do. I am definitely going to see a doctor about it, but i will like to know ideas or anything about what i am dealing with.

She had a good feel around (much to my dismay!) she said no fissures but that I could 'possibly' have an internal hemorrhoid as she felt something 'squishy' but to be honest... She didn't sound very confident!
She's given me some hydrocortisone suppositories (lovely) and said she hopes the problem will disappear as quickly as it came about.
Other than the fresh blood I have no problems whatsoever and no other symptoms.
Also, she mentioned a camera up the bum if it doesn't resolve or gets worse. Help me god!!!
I'm a 32 year old woman I've been diagnosed with chronic migraine I've suffered from this horrible illness since I was 18 from 18 till 28 my headaches were throbbing one Sided and intense the last few years my headaches have changed to a chronic daily headache which is mild to moderate sometimes intense pain I do take painkillers daily which help cut the daily pain from what would be a 8 down to a 2 also my pain isn't always throbbing it's one Sided but not throbbing sometimes it can throb if I move my head I've told the neurologist that it's not throbbing yet he diagnosed it as transformed migraine . Since my headaches have changed I've gotten different symptoms such as a tingling sensation on my face under my eye near my nose on my cheeks etc , sometimes I'll get a dragging sensation on one side of my face like my eye is getting pulled Down , and the most frightening symptom I sometimes feel completely detached from my self or my surroundings it's very scary also I get Alice in wonderland syndrome when I get all these symptoms I don't always get a headache or if I do it will be very mild I'm waiting to see a neurologist again plus I'm booked in for a mri on my brain I'm curious if anyone gets any of these bizarre symptoms I'm very nervous I should mention I've had these odd symptoms for about four years but the detached feeling has gotten more frequently.

Had gallbladder removed 8 months ago. bowels are looser but not diarrhea and continuing gas production during the day. minor pain around edge of rib cage. Anyone have similar experience and solution. i do have appt with my gastroenterologist in 2 weeks.
