Hemochromatosis :: How Long Genetic Test Takes?

I've already wrote a post below but just wondering if anyone knows how long the genetic test takes. I had mine two weeks ago but have now been told it could be 4 - 6 weeks. My bloods came back showing that I am anemic so my doctor doubts I have HH anyway. I have all the symptons and now waiting to be referred to gastro for my third lot of investigation. I am thinking the doctors really are not clued up about this at the moment.

I have been taking antidepressant for almost an year. I changed few brands, nothing was helpful for me.
Recently I learned that there is a genetic test for antidepressant. I wonder if I can order it by Internet. I live outside of US and here there is no chance to find one.
Do you know if it's possible to order genetic test kid by Internet?

My husband was diagnosed with iron overload and had the DNA testing done for Hemochromatosis, he has been waiting 7 months now and was told it would be another 4 months til he sees a Dr. to discuss the situation. My question is with waiting this long and not knowing how long before that he had high iron, will this be affecting his organs in a detrimental way.

Has anyone had a DNA test to determine the effectiveness of pain medication? I have chronic 24/7 migraines and take high doses of Dilaudid (16 mgs) every 3-4 hours. Even at this dosage the pain is only reduced to about a 6 on the pain scale. What were the findings from your test? Did it provide any useful information or was it a way for my pain management dr to pad his pockets? As it is I have to see him every 4 weeks and provide a urine sample every other month. After 4 years you would think he could rest assured that I am not taking more than prescribed. I'm just afraid he looks at me like a way to make more money. Any, I digress. Please let me know about the DNA testing.

it has been several weeks now, although I did have 2.5mg 3 weeks ago as I had a severe panic attack and 1.25mg last Friday for the same reason. However, I only took diazepam for 8 weeks and no more than 2.5 mg per day. Apart from above 2 small,doses far apart, I have been off them for 7 weeks.
I have sinking feelings, cannot get anything together, weepy, and also have been diagnosed with Hemiplegic migraine. I am usually very together and was only,put on the pills due to TGA. I hope someone can just reassure me I am not going mad and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. So many of you have had worse than me.

I have switched from being on 40mg of cital. 3 weeks ago I switched to Sertraline and have not really noticed any improvement. Still depressed, no appetite, anxiety and panic attacks. Seems like the medication is not working. Also not sleeping great so started taking Trazodone on 3rd day at 150 mg. do not like the feeling. I am able to get some sleep but takes awhile to get to sleep. No motivation.

I am never wet before my boyfriend and I have sex, and I've never had this problem before, but it hurts. After we get over that, he takes at least 40mins to come every single time and I get all dried out because it gets boring-since I never get close to an orgasm and then after I'm dry for it taking too long I have to wait out the eternity before he comes. I am male 23 year old. I recently had a corneal laceration while playing. The ball hit directly and broke my eyeglasses. The doctor sutured the lacerated cornea with stitches and has put me on eye drops. It's been a week now and I still have blurry vision in the injured eye. I don't expect such fast recovery but how long can it take ?
Can anyone tell me if I will ever become normal or at least chances of being with normal vision again ? The doctor says it will be recovered but can take up to 2 to 3 months.

I have been on percs 5mg how ever many i liked a day for 7 months and my doctor just took me off and put me on Subutex,Baclofen,Gabapentin, Now I am done with all of those and now I am withdrawing how long till i can actually sleep and have no muscle pains and my life is back to normal.. I can't deal with this I have small children and it's hard will this torture end

Hi, I have been on SW plan for over a year and lost 10lb, yo yoing, I am 5 ft 8, and weigh 16st 10.3/4lb. I joined the gym 5 weeks ago and stuck as much as possible to the SW plan, but gained 5lb in the 5 weeks. last Monday (9 June) I started on Orlistat, drunk tons of water, kept up wiht excercising 3x week and eaten plenty of veg/fruit and healthy diet. I have weighed myself this morning and lost 1lb, I am so disappointed, disillusioned and actually quite desperate. The amount of time and effort I have put in does not reflect on the scales. What am I not doing right? Does it take time for the tablets to begin to work? I have read on the forum, these people with huge weight losses, what are they doing that I am not!

I am asking on behalf of my friend's child. Her child cannot walk for long distances, and needs a foot brace. I think there is discomfort at his talus(?). I'm not very sure about the details.
Her in-laws have had this genetic disease passed down to every male in the family, I believe. It is really saddening, as my friend's two sons both have this disease. What kind of disease is this? I do not have details, so I'm up for suggestions. Thanks!

My wife has had migraines every day since January 2014. The last 9 months have been very difficult. We have tried many types of medication/treatments.
Currently she is trying Gabapentin (600mg per day).
Does anybody know how long it can take for Gabapentin to have an effect?
Is it possible for Gabapentin to make migraines worse?

I just started on 25 mg of Zoloft for one week & now I'm on 50 mg for another week for anxiety/panic. I have yet to feel the difference? Does it take this long to take affect? I really want this to work. I almost feel like I'm worse! It's been 14 days and really not much of a difference.
