I also had migraine headaches in my youth and now occasionally have silent migraines - aura, but no headache. I've recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I understand that this type of headache is common with fibro. I wondered if others have suffered from this and what, if any, medication has been tried.
View 1 RepliesI have had diabetes for several years now. I have nerve pain in my feet that is usually not too bad and comes and goes. Lately, my left ankle feels like there is a hair being dragged across causing a tickling feeling. Tonight, my right ankle has this sharp stabbing pain in it that has almost caused me to fall while walking. I have medicine for the nerve pain but don't like the side effects so I quit taking it. Could the stuff going on with my ankles be due to diabetes?

View 1 RepliesI have had the typical sciatica for years on and off nothing debilitating so I am familiar w/the pain in the buttocks and moved down the leg etc but this is different so if anyone has had this please let me know I'm so confused...a month ago I actually went to ER w/pain behind my thigh that felt like I was being stabbed...then it would stop and come back 10-12 seconds later lasting about 2-3 seconds and VERY painful did this consistently for 6 hrs and disappeared as fast as it came! GONE for 1 month until this past Sat started again altho not as constant ..until the past hr I have had it every 30 seconds and I cannot fig out what causes it ...or what it is ..the ER gave me Valium and my reg Dr said take magnesium altho my levels were within range. I almost feels like I was tasered or stabbed (have really never experienced either but seems like that's what it would feel like) so do you think this could be sciatica?
View 1 RepliesI was diagnosed back in May 2014 with diverticular disease because I had a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen but recently I have had a pain in my lower right abdomen and am waiting to go for another colonoscopy. has anyone else experienced this with diverticular disease as the doctor doesn't think the pain is caused by my diverticular am worried as it feels like a stabbing pain.

Secondly, I'm here because I'm concerned about chest pain I've been having for the past 3 days, even though my PCP examined me and sent me home with instructions to get rest, fluids, and take extra iron tabs for the next couple days (I appeared anemic but my level was in the normal range).
So when the pain began it was sharp stabbing accompanied by hot flashes and nausea and lightheadedness. Since then, it has been a consistent, sometimes worse sometimes better, feeling like someone is pressing on or squeezing my chest, and today the pain was radiating into my left arm, and both hands were tingling. I also have off and on indigestion, lightheadedness, and constantly feel like I CAN'T BREATHE despite no congestion or any cold symptoms or anything.
The other thing is, I've been absolutely exhausted since this began. Like, I can barely walk to the bathroom and back. And have taken 5 hour naps every day since Thursday and otherwise have barely left the couch.
I just don't think I can go on like this another day, but I don't know what else to do! My resting EKG was normal. Although my PCP did say I would benefit from an echo because I have a preexisting diastolic murmur.
Hello I have tarsal tunnel syndrome which was diagnosed by a nerve conduction test. I go back to see my foot and ankle surgeon in three weeks
Does anyone else have this syndrome? If so how was it treated. So far all i know is mine is caused by bruising and possibly a fracture of an old injury.
The stabbing pain i get is at times is unbearable lasts only for a few seconds its like someone has stabbed me in the foot with a hot sharp blade and electrocuted at the same time. Also have tingling in my feet muscle spasms leading up to my knee all the time but more noticeable with online in bed at night.

My wife and I have been doing meth off and on for about 5 years.
It really took our sex lives to a whole new level.
We had been laying off of it the last couple years.. but have started to get it once in awhile again. It's not the same as it was. We would have some WILD and CRAZY sex on it...just a few years ago. Hours and hours of nonstop sex.
But it isn't causing us to do that anymore. Is it the meth that we are now getting? Is it just not a good quality?
I used cytotec for a 2weeks pregnancy and after 4hrs I started having pains and later saw blood. I had little bleeding and later a little clotted blood too. after the clotted blood I felt relieved of the pain. then sometimes I will see stains of blood in my pant for some days. After some weeks I started feeling cold in my feet, feel irritated and also feeling as if something is standing in my throat but not painful but am inconvenient with it. could it be that am still pregnant or what could be happening please. And now I started having slight light brown virginal discharge. I want to know what's happening please.
View 1 RepliesOn top of everything else, it would appear as though I'm having issues with my TMJ...I believe I'm a jaw clencher when I'm anxious (which is pretty much always), and I'm also a sloucher at my desk, and this has caused the muscles in my neck to become VERY tense....could this tension be causing my headaches as well? And what about the persistent off-balance feeling that I seem to have whenever the tension strikes? My head just feels so heavy...as though my poor neck can barely support it. I had a massage last night and the therapist was astonished at how tight my muscles were, especially on the sides of my neck, behind my ears, and in my shoulders....all related? Does anyone else experience this? The pain is pretty intense and over-the-counter pain relievers (like Advil) don't do a thing for it.
View 20 RepliesI have just been diagnosed with pleurisy yesterday after an horrendous weekend of stabbing pains, in my ribs and back, but not particularly in my chest. It came on suddenly last thursday night in bed without any warning and was accompanied by fever symptoms similar to flu ie boiling hot one minute and freezing the next. I had flu about 6 weeks ago, got rid of it and it recurred again in the shape of a chesty cough which causes a crushing feeling in my chest and ribs. The doctor prescribed me strong antibiotics and was told to take paracetamol for the pain which has shifted all over my ribs and back, not staying in one place. He also ruled out a water infection whilst I was there. I still have a fever and can't do much more than rest as I'm tired much of the time but manage to keep my pain down to a minimum by dosing up with codeine/paracetamol every four hours, even managing to get some sleep last night. I hope this info helps someone else in the same predicament.

2 weeks ago I was advised to go and see a chiropractor for a shoulder problem I was having. He said he thought I had a trapped nerve in the C7 region. I said I only wanted conservative treatment so he used the adjustor (the little device that clicks and knocks agains your skin if you've seen one) down my neck to try and shift the nerve.
When I got up from the table, I felt a woosh of heat and a throbbing pain at the back of my skull. My whole head felt pressurised and my neck was very stiff. The next day i had the same feeling, as though someone had punched me in the head and feeling dizzy etc.
Now it's two weeks later and no better. The pain travels from the base of my skull and is like a stabbing behind my eye.
I should mention this is all on the left hand side. I had to go to a and e it was so bad at one point and after basic tests they said I had just strained my neck and to take naproxin. This is NOT a neck strain! The head pressure is like a dull feeling over my whole head but particularly at the C1 area and behind my eye and is constant but ranges from tolerable to unbarable.
My chiro said I must just have a sensitive neck..
Has anyone had anything like this happen to them? I'm totally open to all ideas from anyone! Could it be that he somehow moved a nerve which is now causing optical neuralgia maybe?

View 1 RepliesI started last week noticing shooting leg and butt pain went to Chiropractor and seemed fine.
Then about 2 days ago went into bad wicked leg cramp(left side of body)and very bad stabbing back pain .
went to dr who says it's pinched she has me on cyclobenzaprine aka Flexeril hcl 10 mg 2 per day I took it at 4pm and Tramadol hcl 50i took at 6pm mg every 6 hrs have done that today plus bath/heat pad , icy hot spray, mineral ice and cold ice pack, everything I've done seems to make it worst or just not help . The heat and cold treatments seem to make it worst and aggravate the pain into cramp like symptoms
Wondering how normal that is have tossed out back before and muscle relaxers put me to sleep and make it go away this isn't even helping. I find laying painful standing walking are near in possible and extremely painful to the point it makes me want to cry literately like a throbbing stabbing pain ,sitting seems to be better then laying but not buy much.
unsure how to describe this part but when walking what little bit I do back has a odd pop sensation and leg and back starts to spasm to the point i can't put weight on leg or move.
Wondering if anyone has any home treatments or advice.
As i find this can't be normal after that many pills to feel still worse then when I went to the doctor. i'm in central time so pills are still hrs away from me taking more
So i'm back at work and more or less painfree altho still a bit uncomfortable but today feel as if the prolapse is still there ie i feel as tho there is something inside me and have been experiencing stabbing pains inside - is this normal for 13 weeks post op? They have the following symptoms: pain in the temples (only on one side at a time),across my forehead,sting sensations on top of skull, the feel of a splitting maul slammed into my skull, and a vise/halo effect. I have tried several medications, including dhe 45. I had a ct scan about 2-3 years ago showing a lipoma in the center of my brain. I also have short term memory loss,fatigue, no energy. I do not have any migraine symptoms. I had them for years. I am scheduled for a new ct scan next month to check the size of the lipoma. Could the lipoma have grown and be the cause of my headaches?
View 2 RepliesI am 42, was diagnosed with CS at 40. I take painkillers far to regularly due to neck pain and periods of constant headaches. Present one for 4 days! I sleep in a neck collar every night and have medication to help me get off to sleep. I have also been prescribed diazepam which i use when my neck movement is to restricted for me to carry out everyday duties. Luckily this is very rare. My left arm is affected the worse, not helped by nerve damage in my left hand from carpal tunnel syndrome. I don't use my left arm unless i have no option as it normally ends up with things dropped on floor due to weakness. If i rest left arm on table or passenger arm rest in car it will go numb. My consultant was excellent and extremely sympathetic when diagnosed. I have now been discharged with my pills and collar! And they say life begins at 40!
