View 1 RepliesIt all started a little over a week ago, when I discovered blood in my urine late in the evening, thought nothing of it until i carried on peeing blood for the whole of the following day, day 3 was the day when I started getting extremely excruciating pains in my left side which caused me to roll around on the floor in agony and that pain would come and go in little or loads of pain, so I went to the doctors and he said kidney stones and gave me dicloflex and to drink lots of water to hopefully pass them, (he did a sample and I had extremely high blood in my wee and nothing else) I also have a ct scan In a week but the pain in my sides has stopped, like it's barely noticeable now, and because I've been drinking so much water the blood has stopped too, but I bet there are still blood cells in the urine not visible to the human eye? If I stop drinking water will the blood return? Basically will the ct scan come up with anything or will it find anything else? As the pain and blood has apparently stopped for the past two days, also I am certain I haven't passed anything, I've kept a close eye and seen or felt nothing, I've had the odd bottle of lemonade because that 'apparently' helps, maybe it's dissolved the stones?
Thanks for your time
Scott

View 1 RepliesDoes anyone else dread Routine Blood Tests scared that they are going to detect some "Blood Cancer"? I've been looking up Leukemia and Lymphoma symptoms all morning. I'm getting a CBC for Fertility treatments.
View 1 RepliesI was on diltiazem (cartia) for several years. It eventually raised my blood sugar level and I was diagnosed with diabetes 2. My blood pressure was not going down, so they took me off diltiazem 240mg, and put me on lisinopril 5mg.
The lisinopril gave me a dry cough, so I was put on losartan 25mg. I asked why not 5 mg and my NP told me because it doesn't come in 5mg....
I had this stool with bright red blood yesterday and today. I couldn't tell how much blood there is but the water became bright red with 50% visibility (I looked at the stool ). I don't feel any pain and I feel nothing at all on my body. The day before I had the stool with blood, I drank four cups of green tea. I know tea is acidic but I am not sure if this is the cause of it. My urine is fine and without blood.
View 1 RepliesI gave blood mid January 2014 after registering some high blood pressure readings ( systolic up around 155) and reading saga study results suggesting benefit. I had previously tried reducing this through more exercise, and eating more healthily. Initially after giving blood the systolic remained elevated at 160. However it later reduced to 135. Three months later my BP is around 88/138 - so still a little on the high side, but still much reduced from the elevated levels previously.
Also taking CoQ10, but not eating a very good diet.
Anyway - just for those who are interested giving blood (especially for men who drink too much), can help.
I have really bad cramps and they would stop, go away then come back. Then the morning of the next day after my period. I woke up to Painful abdominal pains worse than regular period cramps and it felt like i had to Pee severely bad. Once i reached the washroom a huge blood clot had came out. Just like Fell into the toilet. I had Brown period blood after, And now that the "thing", Huge blood clot is out the cramps went away. and now my period just continued like regular. i just wanted to know if this is just a huge blood clot or a miscarriage/ threatened baby. I am sexaully active as well.
View 1 RepliesWeekly blood removal was ordered by my hematologist. Being needle phobic I knew it wasn't going to be fun. Since being misdiagnosed since 2007 my iron levels were greatly increased. After going for my first blood removal, I was concerned since after trying both arms, they were unable to get the 500 ml due to the thickness of the blood and the small veins, I believe they were only able to get 50 ml Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone have any recommendations on how to get more blood out?
View 6 RepliesRecently I've been trying this new thing where I drink 4l of water a day, just because I've stopped drinking anything sugary and/or fizzy and would rather drink healthy filtered mineral water, is 4l a day too much and does it put me at risk of drowning my blood? I heard that you're only supposed to drink about 2l, so if I'm going overboard I should probably stop.
I am a physiotherapy student in a hospital doing some training and one time, I went into in the ward to check few patients along with a supervisor. Afterwards, I proceeded to wash my hands but because there was some kind of partially opened cupboard in front of me, I decided to close it well and in the process some water in my hands splashed and made its way into my nose and eyes. I mean, if one of the patients that we did check is HIV positive, will this event put me at risk considering that the virus could have been in my hands but got into my eyes and nose because of the splash. I do not remember any wetness in my hands before I wash my hands. Is this of concern for HIV transmission?
View 1 RepliesI've been suffering from water infections since I was around 11/12 I am now almost 17 and recently have an infection weekly for the past few months. The doctors have given me endless antibiotics which one type I've become resistant to and the cranberry power things which you mix with water when I was younger. I literally have tried everything to avoid getting an infection including cranberry juice , barley water , water itself , cotton knickers, no perfumed products around the area , peeing straight after sex and nothing prevents it!! Really needing advice as the doctors will just give me more antibiotics also around November 2015 I had scans around my kidneys and back and everything was clear?

View 1 RepliesJust started on Mirtazapine and my feet and ankles are swelling up. Is there anything that can help?
View 1 RepliesDoes anybody suffer from water retention on this med? I currently taking 45mg and only drink tea or bottled water, but my face is puffy and my knees and ankles have ballooned up to the fact that I feel I cannot bend my ankles, I am willing to put up with this as the med is helping loads, I have tried herbal diuretics that don't seem to help, and when I do go for a pee its like nothing comes out, is this what causes the weight gain as I have not had the munchies like so many people seem to have on hear.
Also I am terrified of taking the 45mg tablet, I have been taking 30 + 15 mg, has anybody noticed a difference, will my good sleep go? who and I do sweat a lot, night and day.
I've had an ear problem for 12 months after getting water in it. Feels blocked all the time and it wont pop properly. It is mentally doing my head in. I went to ENT recently and the doctor said he couldn't see anything causing the problem. Now waiting for an MRI scan.
