I had a small risk with a high risk woman. There was nothing that happened but a little fingering on the surface level (nothing deep) but my finger had a 2 mm sore/abrasion on it (surface as the type you get when you scrape your knee). The cut had happened about 20 hours before. I immediately stopped when I remember after three seconds.

A second condom for second oral. Both condoms were on before and after and remained intact. No obvious tears, rips, breakages, etc. Most concerned about the vaginal sex. As I said, it was protected, but I can't stop thinking about "what ifs." Also as I said, the condom was on when I inserted and when I pulled out. I don't think it slipped (I'd have noticed, yes?). And, as I also said, it was intact after.
Oraquick in-home tests were negative at 21 and 24 days post-exposure (if you can call it an exposure). I plan on testing again this week (now that I'm four-weeks down the track).
I understand symptoms are not diagnostic, but I have had a few: white tongue (from about 2 weeks after it), maybe a rash on my face and small parts of my thigh but not sure (from about 3 weeks after it). No fever. No sore throat. Nothing else.
What do you think? Was this a no risk situation? How much weight can I put on these negative test results (even if it wasn't no risk)?
i was in a relationship with a guy and we had unprotected sex (vaginal) a few times. when we broke up i found out he was a lot more promiscuous than i initially believed. i was tested for everything 10 weeks after our last unprotected vaginal sex. everything including HIV came back negative. i had however performed oral sex on him without ejaculation one time after last having sex. that would have put me 3 weeks out from that for my HIV test. i don't know if i had a 4th or 3rd generation but i called my dr and she said if i had HIV it would have shown up. i gave her all the details as well. she said i could come back next year for another test if i was still concerned so that made me nervous she had no idea what she was talking about because everything i've seen says 3 months is conclusive with most people showing positive by 6 weeks. i do plan to be tested one more time bc i have severe anxiety over this and its the only thing that will put my mind at rest but until i can get in for another appointment here are my questions:
1. my 10 week negative is a good indicator i did not contract HIV from the unprotected vaginal episodes correct? i know not technically conclusive until 12 weeks but everything i've read says that is HIGHLY unlikely to change
2. when i performed oral on him i had had a tonsillectomy 6 weeks prior. my throat was healed as far as i remember. i do have bleeding gums occasionally. no sores or STDs. does that increase my chances from oral? i know the stance here is no risk, did not know if the previous tonsillectomy would change that.
also i've asked him many times if he was free of STDs mainly HIV and he swears he is clean but i doubt he has been tested anytime soon. i do know he use to give plasma on a regular basis, not sure if he still does that since we are no longer in contact.
I know my question may have been asked a million times before but I want to get a first hand assessment of my potential risk with HIV based from the series of events that acquired during that night. I was firm to believe that oral sex is safe - up until I read some articles on the internet. Some websites say it's low-risk. Some say it is moderate risk. I do not know which claim is more true than the other
So how this is my last sexual encounter went:
- So I met guys
- I did brush my teeth lightly.
- We basically did give and receive oral sex. No anal sex was done .
- One of the two guys did finger me.
- The whole act last around 30 - 40 minutes
- he ejaculated 5-10 minutes after through masturbation. He "unleashed" it in my legs or in my chest.
- About a minute or two, I gargled water
- We had a small talk after the deed. I was kind of hesitant to believe that he was negative although that's what he did told me. Aside from that, he told me that what we did was a low-risk activity.
Now for my questions:
- Let' say he was indeed positive, what are the chances of him passing the virus on this one time incident?
- From what I have read over at the internet, saliva has a capability to deactivate the virus once any fluid comes contact to it. Is this accurate? Does brushing one's teeth lessen this saliva's capability?
- Is pre-ejaculate just as infectious as semen or blood?
- Would brushing my teeth before or after the act really create cuts/bleeds deep enough that some pre-ejaculate may come in contact with my bloodstream?
- What about deep throat oral sex. What are the risks say he had pre-ejaculate if I was doing it to him?
- Let's also assume that he had a soaring viral load, will this affect my chances? Again, some websites argue that the higher the VL, the higher the risk one is exposed to.
- What are your thoughts about fingering. Is this safer than say, oral and anal sex?
- where I live we have Rapid ICT for testing. How conclusive is it on 6, 8, 10, 12 weeks of testing? Should I be tested after 12 weeks for it to be definitely conclusive or 12 weeks is more than enough?
I know that the only way to know my status is to get tested. It was only been six weeks since the act happened and my anxiety has been killing me to death regarding this incident. I do not want to be the first person documented to have contracted the disease through oral sex.
1. I had a HIV test done that came back negative. Not sure which one but I had blood drawn and found out my results around an hour or so. Any clue what gen that is?
2. With that test is it safe to assume anything I did 8 weeks previously to have gotten HIV May not show up but anything 8 weeks and on would be conclusive?
3. My only exposure in the past 8 weeks was unprotected oral, 25 days before the test in the window period, with a woman (both ways) whom I had done this act with multiple times before in the past year. Is this a concern?
4. Do I need to re-test based on this information?
So, 13 days ago I had an unprotected sexual encounter with a family friend. No actual sex but there was genital to genital touching and oral sex going both ways. Since that time I have been a nervous wreck to the point that I'm barely functioning because I have convinced myself I am going to get herpes. I have not had any of the flu like symptoms and no rashes or bumps that are obvious but I am obsessively checking myself multiple times daily. I know I am likely creating most of this anxiety in my head. What ia the likelihood that I was infected and just not showing symptoms yet?

I went in and had an RNA test at 10 days which came back negative and a antibody test at 26 days which came back negative. How confident can I be in those results? It seems that 3 months is the mark but there is some updated news that findings can be given with high confidence earlier than that.

I have only ever dated 1 guy before him and that was a long term relationship. We were both each others firsts so we were positive we didn't have anything. After exactly 22 days post that incident ,she was down with bad sore throat, chills, lost weight a little bit.
I am 18 and back in May I guess I "jammed" my finger. I say I guess because I really don't know WHAT exactly happened. My two dogs got into a little fit and when I was separating the two of them I don't know what I did, but I really messed up my finger. After it all happened my hand hurt REALLY REALLY bad. It also started swelling pretty much immediately. I waited a couple days and then went to the ER because I figured maybe I dislocated my finger or something. They did an X-ray and came back and said there was nothing wrong, and probably a sprain so they sent me home with an ace bandage and some ibuprofen. Fast forward to now.
The swelling in my hand has gone away after about two months of not moving it a lot and keeping it wrapped up. But each time I completely straighten (like I am stretching my hand) out, my ring finger makes a clicking noise and kind of pops up. Moving it certain ways, making a fist, putting pressure, pulling, or grasping something wrong hurts extremely bad. I can feel it move down at the base of my finger (like my last knuckle). It has caused a problem for me because it hurts with most normal things that I do. Even typing this is irritating.
So I finally went to an orthopedic and he looked at my hand and X-rays and said he isn't sure what it is and he recommends me to see a hand surgeon.
I did. I drove almost 2 hours each way to see this doctor and here's what happened in a span of 3 different visits.
He suspected trigger finger even though he said certain symptoms were odd. He gave me a cortisone injection into my left ring finger and OMG that was painful. But to be honest that pain from the swelling of the injection was about as bad as my hand felt right after it happened. But sadly that didn't help. So my doctor sent me to get an MRI. With the results of the MRI, he told me that he saw swelling in my finger and that he thinks is in the sheath but said he doesn't know what is causing that. So he told me he was stumped and should see someone who is more of a specialist and gave me a few names. None of them take my insurance.
So I decided to put all of my info out here and see if someone has had something similar happen or knows what might be going on with my finger.
I will also post below the "findings" on my MRI report.

No significant degenerative or arthritic bony changes are appreciated. Visualized musculature has normal signal. Subcutaneous tissues are intact."

View 3 RepliesI fell while i was walking and had a small abrasion on my palm, some guy gave me his drinking water to wash it and i did.
a minute after that i found a bathroom where i sterilized it with alcohol and washed it again with soap.
Eight weeks ago on a trip to the US I contrived to launch a bottle of shower gel into my right eye. The next day I experienced photophobia, sharp pains, and discomfort when moving the eye around and reading things up close. A US ophthalmologist diagnosed a corneal abrasion at the six o'clock of my eye (below the iris) and prescribed antibiotic ointment for 3 days, sure I would be 100% by then. Indeed the photophobia and sharp pain cleared up quickly but the discomfort did not.
The sharp pain returned to a lesser extent three weeks after the accident so I saw a local (Singaporean) ophthalmologist. With her microscope she discovered that the initial abrasion had healed but was not securely attached from dryness, and prescribed Optive drops and Vidisic gel, which I continue to use today. Two days later my cornea looked okay under the microscope and within a week the sharp pain had gone. Unfortunately the discomfort has never gone away, and seems to have stayed at the same level since the accident. (five weeks from the beginning of lubrication treatment)
My vision remains 20/20 in both eyes, but I feel I no longer see objects up close (when reading etc.) as well or effortlessly as I used to. There is a sense of discomfort, almost like a sliding of something in the eye, when moving the right eye around and "focusing" on distant objects. Moving the eye too fast will actually cause a twinge of pain. My ophthalmologist doesn't see anything wrong with the eye and suggested that I was experiencing dry eye due to the cornea no longer being as smooth as before.
I have read up on abrasions, erosions and dry eye. Presumably I came close to experiencing an erosion just before I started the lubrication regimen. I haven't been able to find much information on dry eye after corneal abrasions. Obviously my condition is bearable but I do hope that is temporary, perhaps with some deep layer of the cornea still healing.

I was treated at the ER and followed up with an ophthalmologist. He said the abrasion has completely healed and my vision has returned to normal (what is was before the incident IMO). I can still feel a scratchy sensation but it is not really bad. It has now been 16 days after the incident. Will this scratchy sensation ever go away? Is this normal?

Still had corneal edema causing the blurriness in one eye.Doc giving me steroid & antibiotic drops & anti-inflam drops. Nothing helped much till he added Muro 128 and that made a big improvement in blurry vision getting better. Wondering how long one takes this and if anyone else has had an experience with it? Is it taken instead of, rather than in addition to steroid drops?
View 1 RepliesAbout two weeks ago I began experiencing sharp pain and irritation in the left region of my left eye. I was diagnosed with a corneal abrasion and was prescribed an eye drop medication to help it heal. Over the next few days my symptoms began to improve, the redness in my eye began to fade, and the pain was nearly gone.
However, a few days ago I have been experiencing extreme itching in the same region of my same eye. It isn't constant, and only seems to occur at random intervals, but it mainly occurs right or soon after I take the eye drop medication. My eye has also gotten slightly more pink/irritated than it was a week before (a week after I started the medication).
Is this just part of the healing process, or am I developing a reaction to the eye drop? Or could it be something else entirely?
I have an abrasion and inflammation on my frenulum (the penis one) from accidental encounter with my wife's teeth about a week ago. I applied neosporin for 4 or 5 days and that seemed to help some. But there is still some inflammation and sensitivity to touch (negatively so).
How long should this take to heal completely? Is there something else, like over-the-counter hydrocortisone that I might apply to it? How long should I let it go before seeing a doctor about it? What doctor? Urologist? Dermatologist?
It happened by using "lube" when masturbating but it was obviously just some cheap lotion so it didn't work very well. I was doing it quite often until i could feel the skin start to kinda burn off so I stopped doing it.
